"True Art"

Please enjoy and review!

Sitting down on the large chair in the living room, Steve 'Captain America' Rogers set his sketch book on his knees and pulled a pencil out of his pocket before he then started to draw what was in front of him.

When he was returning to the Avengers Tower after his run with Sam 'Falcon' Wilson, the blond super soldier had come across a very interesting sight.

Walking through the living room, he found Davey 'Nyx' Motomiya sleeping on the couch with Veemon curled up into her side.

This would probably seem like a normal thing to everyone else and they wouldn't bother to be fascinated by it, but for someone who had been studying art for years like Steve, it was an amazing sight.

She was sprawled out on the couch with her curly shoulder length mahogany hair fanned out around her head and her face was set into a peaceful expression with a small smile curving her pink lips.

The sun was streaming in from the windows and was bathing the girl in light which made her tanned skin turn a caramel color while her hair turned into a dark cherry color.

Captivated by the unique sight, Steve had rushed off to grab his art supplies from his room and ran back into the living room before the girl woke up.

It was a rare sight to see the young mutant being still and not bouncing around the tower, so he wanted to capture this moment while it was right in front of him.

His bright blue eyes kept flickering between Davey and the paper he was sketching on.

Unknown to him, Veemon's eyes were fluttering open as he began waking up and he opened his mouth up wide as he gave a large yawn.

Turning his head over to the side, the Digimon saw that Steve was sitting on the chair across from the couch and he was very focussed on the sketch book he held.

Sliding off of the couch, Veemon snuck up to the tall man's side and stood up on his tippy toes to see that Steve was drawing Davey and the sight of it made the dragon smile in awe.

"You're really good!" Veemon grinned.

Steve jolted in surprise at the sound of the Digimon's voice and he looked down to see the blue dragon smiling up at him.

Veemon then smiled back down at the drawing which consisted of Davey's head and torso, admiring how Steve had put so much detail into it.

"Thanks." Steve whispered as he went back to his drawing.

Glancing over the paper, Veemon then turned his gaze back onto his partner as she continued to sleep.

Because her mutation took on the form of a nocturnal animal, Davey suffered from insomnia and she had been up most of the night watching TV and baking untill she finally felt tired.

Her enhanced eyesight also made it difficult for her to fall asleep since the area around her during the night still looked as bright as day which annoyed her, but made it easier for her to fight enemies in the dark.

After baking three dozen brownies and a strawberry short cake, Davey had crashed on the couch at 5:00 am to finally get some sleep.

There was a chance that Tony 'Iron Man' Stark, Clint 'Hawkeye' Barton and Thor had found the brownies and were gobbling them all down before anyone else could get their hands on them.

"Davey told me that you used to do art for comic books. Is that true?" Veemon asked.

Seeing the girl's face twitch at the sound of her partner's voice, Steve turned to look down at Veemon and held a finger up to his lips.

"Veemon, try to keep your voice down or else you'll wake her." He whispered.

Nodding at that in understanding, Veemon looked at Davey who's face had settled back into the peacefull expression it had been in before.

"So, did you use to make comic books?" Veemon whispered to the blond.

"Yeah." Steve nodded as he worked on the shadding of the picture.

"Cool! But, why did you draw for comics?" Veemon asked as he made sure to keep his voice low.

"I didn't have a lot of money back then. Plus being a ninty pound sick kid made it hard for me to find anyone who would hire me. Drawing for comic books was the only work I could do." Steve answered.

Humming at that in interest, Veemon then felt his stomach growl loudly and he frowned down at his belly.

"I'm hungry. You want anything?" The Rookie asked as he started to leave the room.

"No, I'm good, thanks." Steve said.

Shrugging at that, Veemon left the living room in search of the brownies that Davey had baked last night and maybe a cup of coffee.

He knew he wasn't allowed any since it made him super hyper, but his partner was sleeping right now and couldn't tell him no.

With a mischiveous smirk on his face, Veemon swaggered off to the kitchen.

As Veemon left, Steve went back to his drawing and also paused a few times so that he could admire his model who seemed content with sleeping the rest of the morning away.

Not noticing how much time had gone by, or that fact that Natasha 'Black Widow' Romanoff had walked through the room to see what the super soldier was doing and leaving with an amused smirk, Steve had finally completed the sketch.

Smiling proudly down at the page, Steve set the book down on the glass coffee table in front of him before he checked his watch to see that it was 11:46 am.

Deciding it was time to awaken the Sleeping Beauty from her slumber, Steve stood up from his seat and walked over to the girl to wake her up.

"Hey, Davey. It's time to wake up now." Steve said as he placed a hand on the redhead's shoulder.

Moaning at feeling someone shaking her awake, Davey's head rolled to the side and her eyes began to open.

"Come on, doll, open those pretty brown eyes." Steve said as he brushed a lock of her out of her face.

Giving another moan, Davey lifted her head up as her eyes tiredly opened to meet the baby blues of the artificial mutant who was kneeling at her side.

"Morning..." She greeted in a sleep filled voice.

Lips curling up in an amused grin, Steve leaned down and placed a kiss on the girl's forehead.

"It's almost noon." He corrected her.

"Oh. Same difference." Davey shrugged as she pushed herself up into a sitting position.

Shaking his head at that, Steve moved to sit down on the couch next to Davey who then leaned her head against his shoulder with a content sigh.

It was obvious she was still caught in the stage of being between awake and asleep.

"How did you sleep?" He asked wrapping an arm around her waist to pull her into his side.

"Not long enough. It felt like I only closed my eyes for five minutes." She groaned.

She nuzzled her face into his neck, enjoying the warmth that was radiating from his body.

Nose twitching, Davey took in the ocean and mandarin scent that clung to Steve's body and she leaned up to place a kiss close to his lips.

"Hm, well maybe I should leave you to get some more sleep." Steve grinned down at her as he made to leave.

Feeling the male moving and standing up, the redhead's eyes snapped open and she became more alert.

"No, no, no! You stay here. I'm comfy like this." Davey pouted as she pulled the male back down onto the couch with her.

Pushing him down onto the couch, Davey crawled on top of Steve which caused his cheeks to ignite in a pink blush as she leans over to place a kiss on his lips.

Smiling at the blush on her boyfriend's cheeks, Davey pressed another kiss to his lips as she felt his muscular arms wrap around her waist and he returned the kiss.

Gliding her hands up Steve's torso, Davey moved them up into the short blond locks and began to massage his scalp which made him moan as he pulled the girl closer to his body.

Deciding to get up before things escalated further, or someone walked in on them, Steve moved to sit up with Davey in his lap and his hands moved to her back to hold her in place so she didn't fall off the couch when he moved.

"You awake now?" He asked and grinnd down at her pout.

He loved it when she started pouting.

It was adorable how she purse her pretty pinks lips.

"Sadly, yes. So, what are we going to do today?" Davey asked as she wrapped her arms around his neck and rested them on his shoulders.

"How about we get breakfast first? Then we can figure it out." Steve suggested as his thumbs rubbed circles on her back.

Pout fading away into a grin that lit up her face, Davey pecked Steve's lips which made the man chuckle at his adorable girlfriend.

Noticing that someone was missing, Davey glanced around the room.

"Hey, Steve, did you see Veemon?" She asked.

She was sure he had fallen asleep with her early that morning after her late night baking.

"Yeah, he was here when I first saw you. He went to go get breakfast." Steve told him.

"Oh. When was that?" Davey asked.

"Um, a few hours ago." Steve informed.

Frowning at that in confusion, Davey turned her gaze back onto her boyfriend.

"A few hours? Why didn't either of you wake me up before?" She asked.

Another blush burned its way onto Steve's cheeks as he glanced down to avoid those curious eyes staring at him.

Seeing he was avoiding her eyes, Davey ducked her head down to meet the shy gaze of her boyfriend and she gently bumped noses with him to get him to look at her.

"What's wrong, Blue Eyes? Why didn't you wake me up until now?" She asked him.

Clearing his throat, Steve set Davey down onto the couch and he reached over the coffee table to grab his sketch book which he placed in his lap.

"Don't get upset, but... The reason why me and Veemon didn't wake you up was because of this." He said.

He held out the sketch book to her and Davey took it curiously as she flipped onto the final page to see what he had drawn.

What she found made her eyes grow wide and her own cheeks began to burn as she saw the beautiful drawing that Steve had done of her.

Meanwhile, Steve was watching her anxiously as he waited to see what his girlfriend's reaction would be to seeing the drawing he had made.

It was the first time he had ever drawn the picture of a woman he had really cared for.

He hadn't even made one of Peggy Carter when he had developed feelings for her long ago, so he was nervous to see how Davey would act.

"Steve..." Davey breathed out making the blond panic.

"What?" He asked looking worried.

Tearing her gaze away from the drawing, Davey smiled at him.

"This is amazing! I can't believe you drew this." She said.

Hearing the sincerity in her voice and seeing it shining in her eyes, Steve relaxed as he moved closer to the girl as she stared down at the drawing in amazement.

It was difficult for her to really believe that it was her on the page.

Steve really did have a gift when it came to making anything look beautiful.

"So, you like it?" Said blond asked.

"Of course I do, dumby. I love it." Davey said.

Turning back to him and setting the book down on her lap, Davey cupped Steve's face in her hands and pulled him down to place a sweet kiss on his lips.

Smiling at that, Steve placed his hands on Davey's waist as he returned the short kiss, relieved that she liked the drawing and didn't find it strange that he drew her while she was sleeping.

"I'm glad." He told her.

Grinning up at him, Davey pecked his lips once more before pulling back and rubbed her thumbs against his cheeks that were beginning to grow stubble.

"Tell you what? Why don't we go shower and then we can go out for lunch together?" She suggested.

"Sounds great." Steve grinned.

He kissed her forehead before pulling back with a frown as he thought of something.

"Wait. You're not saying that because I stink are you?" He asked her.

"No, I love how you smell. I just really want a shower. Sleeping on the couch isn't comfy." Davey crinkled her nose at that.

Chuckling at that, Steve pecked her nose which made it twitch.

"Then let's get moving." He said.

They both stood up and Davey clutched the sketch book to her chest with her right arm before she then grabbed Steve's hand with her left as she began pulling him after her.

"Whoa, where are we going?" Steve asked as the young mutant pulled him after her.

"To go take a shower." Davey smirked at him.

Once again, the super soldier's cheeks lit up in a bright blush, but he didn't protest as he allowed his girlfriend to drag him to her room.

The end.
