"The General and the Leader"
Please enjoy and review!
The gate to the basketball court was pulled opened and then two teenagers walk inside the stand on the court.
One of the teens was a 16 year old boy with wild brown hair, sunkissed skin and grey eyes dressed in a red t-shirt, jeans and white sneakers.
Sitting on top of his head were a pair of green square shaped goggles which were holding his bangs out of his face.
The second teen was a 17 year old girl with mahogany hair tied up into a ponytail, tanned skin and chocolate brown eyes who was wearing an orange tank top, black jean shorts and navy sandals.
"Remind me again why we're here?" Daisuke Motomiya asked as she glanced around.
"Simple. I'm gonna teach you how to play basketball." Taiki Kudou grinned.
Picking up the orange leather ball from the ground, the brunette spun it on his index finger which made the girl pout at how easily he could do that.
It felt like he was showing off, but she knew he was too kind to do that and make her feel inferior.
Placing her hands on her hips, the girl gave him an exasperated look.
"Taiki, you already know I suck at basketball." Daisuke reminded him.
"That's because you never really learned how to play properly." Taiki said.
He stopped spinning the basketball and held it in the palm of his hand as he then shot it towards the net.
Raising her head to watch, Daisuke pouted once again when she saw the ball sail through the air and land flawlessly through the hoop.
Bending down, she picked up the ball as it rolled over to her and then stood up to her full height.
"Soccer's more my sport anyway. Who cares if I can't play this game?" Daisuke shrugged as she then passed the ball over to Taiki.
Catching it expertly, the Hunter gave a sigh as he smiled encouragingly at the DigiDestined before he then walked over to her while dribbling the ball.
"I care because I want to be able to play my favourite game with my girlfriend." He told her.
They may be able to do various other things together, but Taiki felt that it would be fun if he could teach Daisuke how to play his favourite sport.
"I'm perfectly fine with just cheering you on during your games." Daisuke interjected.
To be honest, she loved how he easily dominated the court and won each game he played.
Though it did worry her when he would pass out after each game because he spent the entire night before working on some new game plays.
Akari Kinomoto had warned her what he was like and she had learnt to deal with it since she was just as impulsive as he was.
Rolling his eyes at the girl's responce, Taiki stopped dribbling his ball and placed it in Daisuke's hands which made her frown down at it.
"Be honest. You'd rather be joining in on the action. I know you, Daisuke." He said.
A blush burned onto her cheeks at that, but she did her best to hide it by pouting off to the side which made Taiki grin in amusement at her.
He loved it when he was able to make her blush.
"Yeah, okay. Maybe. But I've tried to play before and I suck. Even Takeru couldn't teach me." Daisuke reminded him.
Takeru Takaishi had gotten a bit frustrated as he tried to help her and failed, so he simply gave up and declared that she was better at playing soccer since she had better aim at kicking than shooting.
"Well, unlike him, I'm not gonna give up on you so easily. Now, come on." Taiki said.
Hands being placed on the girl's waist, Taiki turned her around to face the basketball hoop and gave her a grin.
"Take your stance." He told her.
Giving a defeated sigh, Daisuke did as she was told and Taiki frowned as he already noticed the problems with the way she was standing and holding the ball.
He didn't correct her though.
"Now, shoot." He said instead.
Doing as he said, Daisuke threw the ball up into the air and it bounced off of the ring of the hoop before it then landed on the ground nearby.
Groaning in annoyance, Daisuke turned her frustrated gaze onto Taiki.
"See? I told you I suck at this." She said.
Shaking his head at this, Taiki walked over to retrieve the ball and then passed it over to Daisuke who fumbled with it before she caught it.
"You don't suck. I told you. You just need to adjust the way you were standing." Taiki told her.
Walking back over to his girlfriend, Taiki stood behind her which made her frown in confusion as she glanced over her shoulder at him, wondering what he was doing.
Feeling him nudge her foot with his own, Daisuke looked down to see he was changing her stance.
"Bend your knees a little." He instructed.
Doing as she was told, Daisuke then felt Taiki placed his hands on her shoulders and then slid them down her arms.
"Now, I want you to hold your arms up like this." The brunette said as he moved her arms.
Once her arms were in place, Taiki slid his hands down onto her own and moved them so she was holding the ball properly.
"There, now try shooting." He grinned in full confidence.
Deciding to trust her boyfriend with the position he had put her in, Daisuke shot the ball and watched in surprise as it sunk into the basket while Taiki gave a large grin since he knew it would go in.
"No way. Did that just happen?" Daisuke asked as she turned around to face him.
"I told you you could do it." Taiki told her.
Picking up the ball, he handed it back to her.
"Okay, now try it again." He said.
Nodding, and wanting to see if she could make the basket a second time, Daisuke took the stance she was taught and held the ball properly as she shot the ball towards the hoop.
Watching, and expecting for it to miss, Daisuke's jaw dropped as she released a breath in disbelief as she saw the ball go into the net which made her grin as she turned towards Taiki who was smiling smugly at her.
"I don't believe it!" Daisuke giggled.
Chuckling at his girlfriend's happiness, Taiki gasped in surprise when Daisuke threw herself at him and wrapped her arms around his neck in a hug.
Feeling the girl's curvy and warm body pressed up against his own, Taiki began to blush, but he shook off the warming of his cheeks as he returned the hug he was being given.
"I can't believe I actually did that!" Daisuke cheered.
Pulling her head off of Taiki's shoulder, Daisuke leaned up and pressed a quick kiss onto his lips which left the sweet residue of her vanilla lip balm.
"Thank you!" She grinned showing off her white teeth.
"There's no need for that. I knew you could do it all along." Taiki told her.
"How did you know, though? When the gym teacher or Takeru tried to teach me, I always messed up." Daisuke frowned at that.
Lifting a hand off the redhead's waist, Taiki used it to brush Daisuke's bangs out of her eyes as he gave her a smile.
"It's because you trust me more than you ever did them." He said.
That made the girl blink in confusion.
"Think about it this way. Would you have ever let Takeru get this close to you to help you out?" Taiki asked.
That caused the girl to scoff.
"Are you kidding me?" She questioned.
"There's your answer. You need to trust someone to truely learn from them. After all, wasn't that how Taichi was able to teach you how to play soccer?" Taiki asked her.
Understanding lit up in her eyes and she gave the brunette a grin before she then pecked his lips once again.
Taiki chuckled at that as he caught her lips before she could pull away, pressing his lips against hers a little harder to make the kiss last a little longer.
Giggling at that, Daisuke pulled back slowly as she bit her bottom lip.
"So, what do you say we play a little game?" She asked with a playfull smirk.
Laughing at that, Taiki nodded in agreement as Daisuke pulled out of his arms and rushed over towards the basketball to pick it up as her boyfriend chased after her.
Wrapping his arms around her waist, he picked the girl up and spun her around which made her giggle joyfully as she dropped the ball back onto the ground.
The end.
