"Meet the Parents"
Please enjoy and review!
Walking up to the Avengers Tower was a women in her twenties who had long burgundy hair tied up into a messy ponytail, tanned skin and chocolate brown eyes who was dressed in a white tube top, jeans and four inch black heels.
She was carrying six plastic shopping bags filled with food into the building.
She must have looked very tired since the receptionist gave the woman a look and leaned over her desk to take in her appearance.
"Long day, Mrs. Stark?" The woman asked.
"The longest. Word of advice. Do not go grocery shopping in high heels. Not fun." The burgundy haired woman, Davinia 'Davey' Stark, sighed.
Walking over to the elevator, Davey then set the bags down and then slid to the floor to relax, happy to be sitting down.
Whens he got to her room, she was going to be taking a long hot bath.
"Are you feeling all right, Mrs. Stark?" The British voice of the A.I. questioned.
"I'm fine. I'm just exhausted. Remind me again why I had to go shopping alone." Davey said as she ran her fingers through her long bangs.
"Because everyone claimed to be too busy." JARVIS responded.
That made the 29 year old woman scoff loudly in disbelief as the elevator moved up to the common area where the living room, dinning room and kitchen were located.
"I call bullshit, J. They probably just said that to get out of going for groceries." The woman muttered in annoyance.
The day had been very long and there was traffic all over the city.
People were also very pushy in the stores and would rudely bump into her, not even appologizing for it which angered her.
This was one of the reasons why she hated living in New York, but she had to do it since her husband and teammates were all living here.
Finally, the elevator arrived at the floor and Davey stood up, grabbing the bags as she did so and rolled her shoulders to work out the knots she had in her back.
Stepping out of the elevator, Davey walked into the living room where she spotted three people lounging around.
"Hey, I'm home!" She called.
The three people all looked up at the woman as she greeted them and Davey stopped walking, staring at them in shock when she saw that they each had their weapons out.
Natasha Romanoff and James 'Bucky' Barnes were cleaning their guns while Clint Barton was looking over his arrows, carefully arranging them in his quiver.
"Hey, welcome back." The green eyed, red haired assassin greeted the woman who was staring at the trio in shock.
"What's with the ammo?" Davey asked as she slowly walked over to the couches where the three assasins were all sitting.
"Your husband wants to hire us for a job." Bucky responded as he brushed his long dark hair out of his crystal blue eyes.
Raising an eyebrow at that, Davey placed the bags down on the floor and crossed her arms over her chest.
"What are you talking about?" She questioned.
She was worried over what her husband was up to.
Smirking over at the woman, Clint then glanced over his shoulder towards the kitchen.
"Davey's home!" He shouted.
With that announcement, a 16 year old girl with shoulder length chocolate brown hair and matching eyes dressed in a red tank top, white skirt and yellow tennis shoes came out of the kitchen with a deep frown on her face.
"Moooom!" Penelope 'Penny' Stark whined as she rushed over to her mother.
The girl, originally known as Penny Parker, had been discovered as Spider-Woman by SHIELD a few years ago.
When her aunt May Parker died of a heart attack, Davey and her husband both decided to adopt the girl and she had been put through some training by the Avengers who had all come to view the girl as their niece.
"Penny, what's wrong?" Davey gasped as she daughter flung herself into her arms with a distressed look on her face.
"Dad's being ridiculous!" Penny informed her mother.
"How is that any different from usual?" Davey deadpanned making the three assassins in the room smirk.
That made Penny frown while a man with dark brown hair and golden brown eyes walked out of the kitchen, arguing with a taller and muscular blond man with blue eyes.
"You're being over dramatic, Stark." Steve Rogers stated as he followed the shorter man into the living room.
"You know, Cap, when you have a daughter one day, then I'll ask your opinnion on this subject." Anthony 'Tony' Stark sniped back.
Spotting his wife, Tony grinned and automatically made his way over to the woman and leaned over to kiss her lips, ignoring their pouting daughter.
"Hi, honey." He greeted.
"What's going on here? Why do you have three assassins in our living room with their weapons out?" Davey demanded.
Said assassins all sat back in their seats, prepared to listen to the family drama that was going on.
Bucky glanced over to where Steve was standing and he waved his hand at him, gesturing for the blond to join him and their friends on the couch.
Sighing, Steve walked over to join them while Veemon walked out of the kitchen with a bag of popcorn, ready to watch the show that was about to go down.
"Did I miss anything?" The blue dragon asked as he sat down beside Natasha.
"Nope. The show's about to begin." She said.
Everyone then turned their attention to the family of three.
"Oh, there's a simple explanation for that. Uh, our daughter has a boyfriend. One who is coming over in about a half hour. And I want him dead." Tony stated.
That made Davey stare at the man, stunned by what he had said.
Since when did her daughter have a boyfriend?
Penny usually told her everything, but now she was keeping this a secret.
Pulling away from her mother, Penny turned to glare at her father in annoyance, her hands on her hips.
"Dad, he is NOT my boyfriend. He's just taking me out on a date." Penny told her father.
"I still don't like it." Tony stated as he crossed his arms.
If anyone had ever told him he would become a father one day, Tony would have laughed loudly in that person's face like a hyena.
He had some suspicions that maybe he had one or two children out there that he didn't know about because of his many one night stands over the years, but he never thought he would willingly want to adopt a child.
Tony didn't want to become a father because of how much of a strained relationship he had with his father Howard Stark and he was scared he wouldn't be able to give his child the attention and love they deserved.
When he adopted Penny though, he found himself taking days off of work to take her shopping, working on her web shooters with her, helping her build a motorcycle to use or to take care of her when she was sick.
He enjoyed being a father and he loved his daughter.
Even if she didn't share his DNA, she was a still a Stark through and through.
He would give her anything she desired, even the world if she wanted.
Something he didn't want to give her though, was the chance to go out on a date.
She was his baby girl!
She was far too young to go out with anyone yet.
He wanted her to stay his baby girl for just a while longer.
Groaning in disbelief at this, Davey ran her fingers through her bangs and released a deep breath of exasperation.
"Penny, sweetie, can I ask you something?" She asked making her daughter turn to face her.
"What is it, Mom?" Penny asked.
"Is it; Don't go out with this guy?" Tony questioned hopefully.
Both females turned their brown eyes on him, glaring and he took a step back, allowing his wife to handle things.
"Pen, who is this guy and where exactly did you meet him?" Davey asked the teenage girl.
"I met him a few months ago when I was patroling the city." Penny explained.
"Oh, so you've known him for months? And the guy didn't think it was important to come speak to us or meet us before asking you out?" Tony scoffed.
Davey sent Tony a glare, promising trouble for him if he didn't stop talking.
"He's kinda hard to keep track of. He just appeared out of nowhere one day and started following me around. To be honest, he pissed me off and I was very close to dropping him into on coming traffic." Penny frowned at the memory.
That made Davey chuckle in amusement as she reached over and brushed Penny's curly hair out of her face.
"Oh, sweet pea, that's how I first felt about your father." She informed making Tony's jaw drop in outrage.
"That how all of us first felt when we met him." Clint pipped up.
"Some of us still feel that way." Steve said with a straight face.
Everyone gained smiles on their faces while Tony glared at everyone, not pleased with the teasing he was getting.
"I'm standing right here people and I'm not deaf." He told them.
"We know." Everyone, even Veemon, all said.
Turning her attention away from her husband, Davey looked back at her daughter who was pouting and was giving her mother the puppy dog eyes.
"What changed? What made you decided to give the guy a chance?" The burgundy haired woman asked.
Everyone went silent at this, staring at the brunette and some were chomping down popcorn as they waited for the answer.
"What changed to make you give Dad a chance?" Penny countered.
That made everyone turn their heads over to Davey, staring at her expectantly, especially Tony who seemed very interested in the answer.
Taken aback by that question, the young woman thought back and gave a small smile towards her daughter before her eyes then met those of her husband's.
"He showed me that he can be a very kind and caring man." Davey answered.
Tony had found her walking off to the park after the battle of New York, searching for the funeral marker she and her friends Willis Stuart and Mimi Tachikawa had made for Natsu.
When she found the grave destroyed, Davey had broken down and started crying over the destruction she had seen and Tony had been the one to comfort her.
Clint and Bucky both rolled their eyes when they saw the married couple sharing a tender look, both blue eyed men feeling disgusted at the fluff they could see in Tony and Davey's expressions.
Veemon smiply smiled at his partner and her husband, happy to see them like that.
Fighting off the urge to either smile or gag at the way her adoptive parents were looking at each other, Penny stared straight at her mother and stood in her way to make sure her attention was on her.
"That's what happened with us. The guy was really annoying and a total jerk at first, but then he showed off that he can be really sweet. Plus, he finally trusted me with seeing what he looked like under his mask. We've managed to really trust each other. We look out for each other when we're out there saving people." Penny explained.
He had even been stabbed in the back by the blades of the Green Goblin's glider to protect her since he knew she wouldn't survive that kind of damage.
The Avengers were all silent at that, taking in what the girl had said and turned their attention over to the girl's parents.
"...I still don't approve." Tony stated.
That made everyone roll their eyes and groan, knowing how stubborn the man could be.
Right now though, he was just being down right ridiculous.
"Daaaaad!" Penny whined.
"Tony, can I speak with you?" Davey asked as she gave him a stern look.
"That is not a sentence any guy wants to hear from a woman." Tony muttered as his wife walked over and grabbed his hand.
She then dragged him off into the kitchen, leaving everyone in the living to watch them go with curious expressions as they wondered what was going to happen.
"What do you guys think Mom's going to do?" Penny asked her aunt and uncles.
"If I know Davey, she's gonna scream some sense into him." Veemon commented.
"Or manipulate him into doing whatever she wants." Natasha shrugged.
"Yeah, that's your fault. You're a terrible influence on her." Veemon stated making the redhead smirk.
Meanwhile, Davey dragged Tony into the kitchen and turned to him with an aggravated look on her face.
"Look, I understand that you don't like the fact that our daughter is now dating. Believe me, I do. It's something all fathers experience." She began.
"So far, I'm not disagreeing with you." Tony said as he kept his arms crossed, wanting to stand firm in his desicion to not allow their daughter to date.
Forcing herself to not making a snipping remark back at her husband, Davey stepped up closer to him and placed her hands on his folded arms.
"Tony, before you decide to hate this boy, can you just meet him first?" She requested.
"No, I don't want to meet the little womanizing shit stain who is going to deflower my daughter." The over protective father said.
Hearing that, Davey gave Tony a dry look.
"Believe me, if that guy tries anything like that, then I will cut his testies off." She stated with a small growl.
There was no way her teenage daughter was going to be having sex any time soon or else she would be the one raining down hell.
Tony snapped to attention at the threat made by his wife and found himself to be both frightened, yet turned on by the anger she displayed in that brief moment.
"But, we still owe it to Penny to meet this guy. You don't have to like it. You don't even have to be nice to him. Just meet him to make our daughter happy." She told him.
Pursing his lips in thought, Tony then stared down at his wife.
"And what would I get out of this?" He questioned.
Giving a sultry smirk, Davey then reached her arms around Tony's neck and leaned against him as she began to whisper in his ear.
His eyes grew wide and a smirk curved his lips, arms wrapping around the woman's waist and holding her flush against his body.
Pulling her face away from his ear, Davey then pulled Tony's head down and began kissing him, nipping at his bottom lip as her hands moved up to play with his hair.
An alarm then started going off making the couple jump apart, now alert and worried over what had caused the alarm to go off.
"JARVIS, what's going on?" Tony demanded.
"There's a security breach. Someone is sneaking in through the vents." The A.I. announced.
Sharing a look, the couple then marched out of the kitchen and joined the other Avengers in the living room who had all grabbed their weapons.
Steve had his shielf strapped to his arm and Penny had her web shooter on, both ready for a fight.
"Stark, why's the alarm going off?" Steve demanded in his Captain America voice.
"Someone's sneaking in through the vents." Tony said as he walked over to the TV stand and opened one of the doors on it to pull out wo hand guns.
He tossed one over to his wife while Veemon stood at her side, ready for a fight.
"The vents? That's my thing." Clint complained as he notched his arrow.
Everyone stood together in a circle, ready for their attacker to show himself/herself to them.
A few seconds later, someone dressed in a red and black spandex suit jumped down from the ceiling and landed right in front of the armed super heroes.
"Babycakes, I'm here!" He cheered.
Clint and Bucky was quick to shoot the man, sending an arrow through his head and three bullets into his chest.
Standing before them was Deadpool and he stumbled around, looking to be drunk as he tapped the end of the arrow that was in his head.
"Hey, look! I was shot by Cupid's arrow! Is it Valentine's Day yet?" He asked.
Penny's eyes grew wide in shock and she rushed over to the 22 year old man's side.
"Oh my god, Wade! Are you okay?" She asked as she fussed over him.
"Wade?" Steve asked in disbelief.
"Penny, how do you know Deadpool?" Veemon asked the girl.
Knowing she had a lot to explain, Penny turned to her family who were all giving her questioning looks while Wade Wilson stumbled around.
"Ooh, lookie! There's a unicorn vomiting rainbows!" He exclaimed like a child.
Glancing at the man, Penny then gave everyone a nervous smile.
"Um, he's kinda the guy I was gonna go out with." She answered.
Everyone was silent at that, shock showing on their faces.
Steve, Bucky and Clint were now all enraged and were fully on board with Tony's idea to murder Penny's boyfriend.
"Sweet pea, we need to have a serious disscusion about your taste in men." Davey said.
The end.
