"Soulmates"

Please enjoy and review!

When everyone in the world is born, they are all born with soulmarks on their bodies.

Davis Motomiya was one of those people who were born with more than one soulmark and he had always been a bit insecure about what these two people would be like.

Each day he would stare at the red heart and silver star that were on his wrists and he would wonder where his destined mates were and if they would like him.

One day when Davis was nine years old and was at the park with his friend Kari Kamiya, her brother Tai Kamiya and his soulmate Sora Takenouchi, he felt an overwhelming amount of fear strike him and he cried out.

Freezing at the sound the boy made, Sora and Tai rushed over to see what was wrong with the boy while Kari stood off to the side, unsure of what to do.

"Davis, what's wrong? Did a bee sting you or something?" Tai asked.

"N-No, but... Something's wrong. I feel so scared and hurt, but... It's not me. It's not really me that feels that way. I don't understand what's going on!" Davis panted as he dropped to his knees.

Frowning at that in worry, Sora then took the boy's hands in her own and her eyes grew wide when she noticed the red and silver glow that came from his wrists.

Turning his arms over, Sora saw that the heart and star were glowing, and she knew what the problem was.

"What's wrong with Davis?" Kari asked sadly as she walked over.

"Nothing is wrong with Davis. It's his soulmates. He can feel their emotions through their bond." The DigiDestined of Love explained.

Snapping to attention at that, Davis stared down at his soulmarks and he felt tears fill his eyes at the thought of something harming his soulmates.

"W-What do I do? What do I do to stop them froming feeling this way?" He asked.

The question from the boy made Sora smile down at him, happy to hear the care in his voice for the two people he hadn't even met yet.

"Okay, listen to me carefully, Davis. It's really simple what you have to do. You just have to think positive thoughts and send them to your soulmates. It'll help calm them down." Sora said as she glanced at Tai.

Having him and Matt Ishida as her soulmates, Sora knew what it was like to constantly worry over them and had to send out positive emotions to both of the boys to calm them down.

Tai smiled down at Sora before looking back down at Davis while Kari walked over to her big brother, staring at her friend to make sure he was fine.

"Positive thoughts? Like, what?" Davis asked.

"Think of anything that makes you happy. Once you do, send your happiness off in their direction through your bond. It's a lot easier than you think." Tai encouraged.

Nodding at that, Davis then closed his eyes and thought of anything that made him happy.

His grandmother's chocolate fudge cake.

His first pet Jagger the black cat.

The day his father took him to the father and son barbeque at his work and they played football.

The time Tai helped him get on the soccer team.

Small, silly things that made him laugh and smile were all that filled his mind and he sent the giddy feelings he developed off towards his soulmates.

After a few minutes, he then felt two ribbons of relief flow back towards him along with feelings of gratitude.

"Are you-you and them-okay now?" Kari asked her friend.

Happy that his soulmates were feeling a bit better, Davis opened his eyes and smiled at the DigiDestined of Light.

"Yeah, we're good." He nodded.

He didn't tell anyone, but for the next two days, he had to constantly send positive emotions towards his soulmates until their fear finally subsided, but was replaced with anger for a brief moment before they sent peaceful thoughts back to Davis for helping them.

Two years later, when Davis was appointed as the leader of the new group of DigiDestineds, he began to feel insecure and like he wasn't meant for the job.

His teammates barely listened to him and didn't take him seriously most of the time, especially when he tried to convince them to give Ken Ichijouji a chance.

Veemon tried to help cheer him up, but it didn't help the DigiDestined of Courage, Friendship and Miracles feel better about himself.

When his doubts in himself began to grow and make him feel depressed, he suddenly felt two loving and encouraging waves reach out to him through his bond.

For once, his soulmates had felt his despair and were doing their best to make him feel better which made him gain a surge of confidence in himself, and he then sent a wave of happiness over to them in gratitude.

Many years later, Davis had found out that he had the power of a fox and was able to grow out a pair of dark grey and black ears and a tail while his eyes would turn gold.

He was then found by Phil Coulson who witnessed the boy use his powers to fight off a group of men who tried to rape a young woman and the agent recruited Davis to work for SHIELD.

Wanting to help people, Davis and Veemon both joined SHIELD and were later on placed on the Avengers team, but the boy had to act as the moral compass that kept everyone working together since everyone had problems with each other.

Then, one day when Davis was 23 years old, he was trying to teach Steve Rogers and his soulmate Bucky Barnes how to make homemade pizza when something happened.

"Okay, now that the dough's done, you just gotta beat it down with the rolling pin and then smooth it out. Or, at least, that's how I do it." Davis instructed.

Bucky, who was grating the block of cheese, then looked over at the fox boy and watched as he used the rolling pin to smooth down the dough.

"What about the tossing into the air thing? Can you do that, too?" The ex-Winter Soldier questioned.

"Oh, totally." Davis smirked, showing off his fangs.

"The first time he did it, he got the dough stuck to the ceiling." Veemon said as he cut up the peppers.

Steve, who was pulling off the lid of the pizza sauce, chuckled along with Bucky as they both looked over at Davis who was blushing.

"Really now?" Steve teased.

"I was ten at the time! You, no more talking to my sister, or else I'm letting her dress you up like a doll again." Davis threatened the Digimon.

Mouth dropping in shock at that, Veemon then huffed and stuck his nose up in the air before he turned away from his partner.

"Besdies, I can totally do this now. Watch." Davis said.

Picking up the dough, Davis then gently tossed it up into the air while Bucky and Steve watched, worried the boy would drop it, but he caught it with ease.

"Okay, I'm impressed." Bucky commented as he watched Davis toss the dough in the air a second time and caught it.

"All right, enough. No more playing with your food." Steve chuckled.

"Hey, you guys wanted to see it. Now, let's get this thing ready so we can pop it in the oven." Davis said as he set the dough onto a round pizza pan.

Bringing the sauce over, Steve poured it onto the large pizza crust and then Davis and Veemon started to place the pepperoni, peppers and bacon on it before Bucky sprinkled the cheese all over it.

With that done, Steve carried the pizza over to the oven and placed it inside while Davis set the temperature.

"Okay, and in twenty minutes, it'll be done." Davis said.

"Great, that gives us enough time to wash up." Steve said as he grabbed the left over ingredients to put away.

Sharing exasperated looks at that, Bucky and Davis then joined Steve and Veemon as they stared putting things away.

As Davis picked up the glass jars, a sudden hot jolt of pain shot up his spine making him scream and drop to the floor, his hands on his head.

His entire body felt like it was being ripped apart while his blood was burning like mercury was in his veins.

Jumping in shock, the super-soldiers and Digimon all turned towards the boy and rushed over to him, worried over what was causing him such distress.

"Davis, what's wrong?" Steve asked as the boy continued to scream as he rolled around on the floor, his fox tail and ears out while his eyes glowed gold.

"Davis?" Veemon cried.

"Jarvis, call Banner and tell him to get the med lab prepped!" Steve ordered the A.I.

As the boy continued to scream and whimper in pain, Bucky glanced his over with critical eyes to see what was causing him pain.

His eyes landed on the boy's wrists and he saw the soulmarks on then glowing brightly and when he reached out to touch them, he saw stunned to learn they were hot like embers.

"Steve, Banner won't be able to help him." Bucky spoke up.

"What do you mean?" Veemon demanded.

"Because there's nothing wrong with Davis. It's his soulmates. There's something wrong with them." Bucky informed.

"Oh, there's always something wrong with them." Veemon muttered in anger.

Over the years, Davis was always dealth with distress because of his soulmates and it was greatly angering not only Veemon, but the rest of the DigiDestineds who watched their friend suffer through the pain he felt through the bond.

Davis didn't understad their anger, he was more conserned with helping his soulmates feel better and protecting them from whatever was hurting them.

"What could be happening to cause them so much pain?" Steve asked as he helplessly watched his friend writhe around.

"I don't know, but we should get him to his room for now." Bucky said.

Hours later, Davis had settled down, but he was enraptured with his soulmarks while he laid on his bed and Veemon was curled up into his side.

Unsure of what to do now, Davis closed his eyes and tried to go to sleep, pushing back all of the feelings of fear and rage that were swirling around from the bond.

Once he finally fell asleep, Davis found himself dreaming about being at the beach on File Island.

From the corner of his eye, he saw a young woman with long brown hair dressed in a red sundress staring at him.

Curious, Davis turned to look at the girl, but found she was gone.

(Elsewhere...)

Gasping, Wanda Maximoff's blue eyes snapped open as she sat up in her cold cell, glancing around in confusion before she remembered where she was.

She and her twin brother Pietro had agreed to allow Wolfgang von Strucker to experiment on them with the Mind Gem.

After the painful process of being zapped with the Gem, the twins had fainted and then Wanda began to dream of a beautiful man dressed in white who had burgundy colored hair and skin like caramel.

Feeling her soulmark tingle, Wanda glanced down at the red heart that was on her left wrist and felt the aura of peace that was being sent her way from her soulmate.

Realizing what that dream meant, Wanda stood to her feet, stumbling back due to her weakened state, but continued to walk to the wall that seperated her from her brother and slammed her fists against it.

"Pietro, wake up! Pietro!" She called out.

Being roused from his own sleep, Pietro Maximoff rose his head full of dark brown curls, curls that were turning white, and crawled along the floor.

"Wanda, wants wrong? Are you okay?" He asked in consern.

"I saw him, Pietro. I saw him." Wanda told him, her voice thick with emotion.

"Who? Who did you see?" Pietro asked, confused with the way his sister was behaving.

"Our soulmate." Wanda said.

Those words sent a strike of hope through Pietro as he leaned up against the wall, his hands pressed against it as he felt his entire body vibrating.

"Where is he, Wanda? Is he here with us now? Did Strucker get his hands on him?" Pietro demanded, rage building.

He didn't want that man to taint their pure and wonderful soulmate.

Pietro knew, that from all of the positive emotions and feelings of love that their soulmate had sent their way over the years, that the boy was pure, innocent and a wonderful person, one who deserved better than them.

But he was still theirs and they would protect him no matter what.

"No, he's not here. I saw him in my dream." Wanda said.

"What does that even mean?" Pietro questioned looking confused by what his sister was saying.

"It means it worked. The experiment gave us our powers. And with them, we can finally find our soulmate and get justice." Wanda spoke with such conviction.

Nodding at that, Pietro then looked down at his hand and was stunned to see it was shaking, before it then started to move at a speed that his eyes couldn't follow.

Soon, he jerked back and he was standing on the other side of the cell, confused by what had just happened.

Curious, he took a step forward and was standing at the wall where his sister was sitting behind once again.

Realizing he had just discovered his powers, Pietro grinned before he then leaned against the wall to continue spekaing with Wanda.

"We will find him and then we will keep him safe while we get our revenge against Stark. Everything will finally be perfect for all of us." Pietro said.

The end.
