"Fae and the Beast"
Please enjoy and review!
Whining when she felt sunlight in her face, Davey Motomiya turned her head away from the light and slowly opened her eyes, finding a small blue body curled up on a pillow beside her.
Getting up, the girl stretched out and yawned widely, then rubbed the sleep out of her eyes.
"Vee, it's time to wake up now." She said as she got out of bed.
"I don't wanna." Veemon complained and crawled under the covers.
Hearing the girl yawn once again, Veemon poked his head out from under the covers and smiled in wonder as he stared at his partner.
She was standing by the window and the sunlight was shining inside, making her raspberry hair and caramel skin glow in the light.
What really took his breath away, though, were the two beautiful wings that were on her back that gained her the name Fae.
The wings shimmered with shades of pink, blue and purple which made Veemon smile at the sight.
"Come on, let's get dressed before we go see if the others are up yet." Davey said.
Nodding, Veemon climbed out of bed and followed Davey into the bathroom.
She needed help bathing since she didn't want to harm her wings.
Once that was done, Davey changed into a pair of jean shorts and a backless, sleeveless top before she headed out to see if the other members of the team were up yet.
On her way to the kitchen, she was surprised to find a green puppy staring up at her, yipping cutely for attention.
Grinning at the sight, Davey bent down scooped the puppy up into her arms and kissed his head.
"I wondered where you ran off to, Gar." She said.
Jumping out of the girl's arms, the puppy changed forms and became a young man with emerald green eyes and hair while his skin was a lighter shade of green.
"Why weren't you in bed when I woke up?" Davey asked as she wrapped her arms around Garfield "Beast Boy" Logan's neck.
"Sorry, but I wanted to make breakfast before you woke up." Gar apologized.
Narrowing her eyes at him, wondering why he would do something like that, Davey giggled as she was suddenly scooped up into the shifter's arms, blushing as Gar placed a kiss to her cheek.
"Gar, careful!" Davey laughed.
Veemon smiled up at the couple and shared a look with Gar before rushing off into the kitchen, speaking with the rest of the team who had gathered in the room.
"Aw, c'mon, you know I would never drop you. Especially after all of the effort it took me to get you into my arms in the first place." Gar teased and nuzzled his face into her hair.
Carrying her into the kitchen, Gar then grinned as he placed Davey back down on her feet just as the rest of the team jumped out in front of them, screaming: "Surprise!"
Jumping back in shock at the yelling, Davey took in the sight of the balloons and streamers that had been set up around the tower for decorations.
"Oh, happy birthday!" Starfire, a red haired, orange skinned and green eyes alien then flew over and pulled Davey into a tight hug.
"Uh, thanks. Wow, I can't believe I forgot my own birthday." Davey laughed in disbelief.
Pulling back, Starfire smiled cheerfully at her friend as the team leader, Dick "Robin" Grayson walked over.
"I wouldn't be surprised. We've all been so busy lately that it would have easily passed us by." Dick said.
"Yeah, it was B Boy here who remembered and had us all get up early to do this." Victor "Cyborg" Stone shot the shifter a smirk.
Turning to look at her boyfriend, Davey grinned when she caught him blushing a dark shade of green.
"Is that so?" Davey asked.
"We didn't let him bake the cake. We had it ordered from a bakery instead." Raven assured making everyone look over at the grey skinned, purple haired woman.
Pouting, Gar crossed his arms childishly.
"I still don't understand why you didn't let me make the cake. I'm not that bad of a cook." Gar defended.
Victor burst out laughing at that making Gar glare at him in annoyance, but before he could get into an argument or fight with the cyborg and ruin the decorations, Davey leaned over and placed her lips over the shifter's, kissing him gently.
Pulling back, Davey gave Gar a look that made his face burn and knees go weak.
He was still getting used to having someone be so kind and gentle towards him.
Davey was always a great friend towards him and was there for him when he had issues with his powers going wild when he transformed into a feral beast.
She even comforted him during Terra's betrayal and death, and she was the only one he ever told about the events that led to him becoming Beast Boy.
The fairy winged girl had become his best friend and greatest confidant before he soon gathered up his courage to ask her out and she became his girlfriend much to his happiness.
He wanted to do something for her for once and decided to rally everyone together to give her a surprise party, which was going to be held later on that day when the rest of their guests arrived.
"It was very thoughtful, thank you, Gar." Davey said before pecking his lips once more.
"Okay, enough of this sappy stuff. The food is going to get cold." Raven said trying to look indifferent, but there was a shine of warmth in her eyes.
"Oh, yes! We have the cakes of pan and lots of other foods to eat. Then, after we eat, you must open the present I got for you. I so hope you will love it." Starfire smiled.
"I'm sure I will, Star." Davey winked at the alien.
"Come, let's go, friends! I cannot wait for the cake to arrive and then we get to sing the birthday song. It's so silly. Why would anyone want to be told they look like a monkey, though?" Starfire mused.
Shaking his head in amusement as he stared off after the redhead with adoration in his eyes, Dick followed after Starfire to eat before the food got cold.
"Happy birthday, D." Stone smiled at the girl and patted her head, playfully messing up her hair.
"Thanks, Cy." Davey chuckled as she tried to fix her hair.
Bumping fists with Gar, Stone then walked off to grab some food, yelling at Veemon to not eat everything.
Being left alone, Davey turned her head to look up at Gar, watching as he gazed down at her with eyes filled with adoration before he blushed and ducked his head down.
"You didn't have to do this, Gar." She told him.
"I wanted to. You're always doing things for me. I figured this was the least I could do." Gar shrugged.
Smiling as she felt a warm feeling spread through her chest, Davey reached out and took Gar's hand in her own, linking their fingers together and nuzzled her head against his shoulder.
"Thanks." Davey smiled and the look in her eyes made Gar feel like he was going to faint from the overload of emotions he felt.
Clearing his throat as he tried to clear his head, Gar then gave his girlfriend a true smile, instead of the fake ones he usually wore in public, and raised their hands up to place a kiss to her knuckles.
"Come on, let's eat. I have a long day planned out for us." Gar said and pulled Davey over to the table where the rest of their friends were gathered.
The end.
