"You Belong With Me"

Please enjoy and review!

Sitting in her bedroom, Davey Motomiya was glaring down at her homework, becoming increasingly more frustrated as she tried to understand it.

She hated math and it seemed to pop up everywhere in everyday life, meaning, she could never get away from it no matter how hard she tried.

As she tried to solve one of the problems, she was interrupted when she heard yelling from outside.

Looking up, the raspberry haired girl stared out her window to find her next door neighbor and friend Alex Summers yelling on the phone.

Without a doubt in her mind, Davey knew that the person he was arguing with was Lorna Dane.

Lorna was the younger half-sister of Pietro and Wanda Maximoff, the twins who were polar opposites of each other and were best friends with Davey.

She didn't know why, but the twins seemed to greatly dislike Lorna, possibly because she was their father's special girl who always did whatever he asked of her.

Jun, Davey's older sister, had concluded that Lorna acts like a spoiled, horrible person because Erik Lensherr had raised her to be that way.

Because of this, Lorna always wanted to get whatever she set her eyes on, therefore, when she saw Alex and Davey spending time with her half siblings at school, the green haired girl automatically set her sight on the middle brother of the Summers family.

Pietro had advised Alex against dating his sister, but he ignored the white haired boy and went out on a date with Lorna anyway.

Wanda was angered by this, especially since she knew that Lorna knew all about Davey having feelings for Alex and the greenette knew the other girl wouldn't advised the boy to not date her since she wanted him to be happy.

Sadly, Alex discovered that Lorna was difficult and enjoyed starting fights which frustrated the boy.

Watching the fight go on, Davey walked over to the window and saw Alex hang up the cell phone, looking close to throwing it at the wall.

"Hey!" Davey called.

Hearing the girl's voice, Alex walked over to his window and poked his head out, giving a small smile over at her.

"Hey. Did you hear any of that?" Alex asked.

"Not really. So, what was the fight about this time?" Davey questioned.

"Lorna's pissed I'm not taking this whole prom king and queen thing seriously. I have a big game the night before the prom and I need to focus on that more than anything." Alex explained.

"And the French test before that." Davey reminded.

Grimacing at the reminder of the test, Alex then looked up at Davey and gave her the puppy dog look that he knew she couldn't refuse.

"Would you help me study? Please, I'll be your best friend." Alex begged making the two of them smile and laugh.

"Fine, I'll help you study. How about tomorrow during lunch?" She asked.

"You're the best. Anyway, I've got homework I need to do. I'll see you tomorrow." Alex said.

"Sure." Davey nodded.

Pulling back inside of her window, Davey watched as the blond boy closed his window and the curtains, making her sigh sadly.

Honestly, she wished she could tell Alex how she really felt about him, but didn't because she didn't want to ruin their friendship in case he didn't feel the same way.

It would also get a bit more difficult since they would be attending the same college as each other and would see quite a bit of each other since they were planning on taking many of the same classes.

Turning her back on the window after she closed it, Davey tried to get back to studying, but when she heard a song playing on her radio that she liked, she turned it up and started singing along to it.

Unknown to her, Alex pulled the curtains back and peeked through the window to see what the girl was up to.

He watched as Davey swayed her hips to the music, singing along and smiling brightly as her Digimon partner Veemon joined in on the dance with her.

Smiling at the sight, Alex shook his head in amusement and pulled the curtains closed and went off to finish his homework.

(The next day...)

As soon as Davey walked out of her history class, she found herself being lifted up from the ground when two people linked their arms with hers.

"Target," A male voice said.

"Acquired." A female voice finished.

"I never should've let you two watch Ouran." Davey groaned.

Pietro, the white haired male with dark blue eyes, and his older sister Wanda, the brunette with the same eyes as him, both smiled down at their friend as they carried her off to their lockers.

"So, just out of curiosity, what kind of flowers do you like best?" Pietro asked.

"And what color do you want your dress to be? We need to go shopping right away after school." Wanda said.

"Whoa, back it up! What are you two talking about?" Davey questioned feeling confused.

"Prom." The twins stated.

Resisting the urge to groan loudly at the idea of going to prom, Davey opened her locker to exchange her history books for the ones for English class.

"Why would I be interested in going to prom? I don't even have a date." Davey said.

"Actually, you have two dates, who just happen to be the most attractive twins on the planet." Pietro preened.

Chuckling at that, Davey couldn't help but agree with Pietro.

He and Wanda were both beautiful people and countless students at the school wanted to go out with them, but the twins reserved most of their time to be with Davey and Alex their best friends.

"Seriously? You're both going to be my dates for prom?" Davey asked in disbelief.

"Of course! Who else would we want to spend that special night with but our best friend?" Wanda smiled.

Face burning in a bright blush at that, Davey brushed her bangs back from her face and closed her locker.

"Fine, I would love to go to prom with you two. Now, come on, we have to get to class." Davey urged.

"Yes! People, bow down to the hottest couple who'll be at prom." Pietro gloated as he swaggered down the hall.

Wanda and Davey started laughing at the boy, following after him to class and walked inside of the class room to find Alex sitting at a desk by the window speaking with Bobby Drake.

"I'm serious, you should dump her. She's a total pain in the... Hey, guys!" Bobby chirped when he spotted the trio.

"Hey, Bobby." Davey greeted as she sat down beside Alex.

"Let me guess. You were about to insult our Devil spawn sister." Wanda commented.

Speaking of Lorna, the girl was sitting at the back of the class room giggling loudly with her friends which consisted of Emma Frost, Domino and Tabitha Smith, although the three girls only tolerated the greenette most of the time.

The tri of girls only spent time around Lorna because she had ways of getting them into clubs and parties, but they didn't like her for any other reason than that since she had a rotten personality.

"Come on, guys, she's not that bad." Alex said in defense of his girlfriend.

That made Bobby, Pietro, Wanda and Davey scoff, but as soon as she made the noise, the girl slapped her hand over her mouth and Alex snapped his attention over onto her in surprise.

"Davey?" He questioned.

"Well, it's just... She's not very...I mean, she can be a little...really mean." Davey winced at her words.

She didn't like Lorna at all, but she also didn't want to say anything that would upset Alex since he liked the greenette.

"Yeah, she does has her moments." Alex relented.

He had known Davey since they were in the sixth grade and he knew that the girl couldn't lie at all and she had made a promise to never lie to him.

It was obvious she didn't have any pleasant thoughts about Lorna and he respected her for not flat out telling her how much she disliked the girl because she didn't want to upset him.

That was one of the many things Alex loved about Davey, that she was always considerate of him and his feelings.

"Took him a year to figure that out." Bobby muttered making Alex glare at him.

"Anyway, Alex, you still up for studying at lunch?" Davey asked him.

"Yeah, totally. I need to ace this exam and I suck at French." Alex said.

"Don't worry about it. I'm sure you'll pick it up in no time." Davey assured.

That was another thing Alex loved about Davey, she believed in him and didn't make fun of him when he had difficult time with his work like Lorna did.

"You're the best." Alex flashed her a grin.

Just then, the teacher arrived and everyone took their seats quickly.

(At lunch...)

"See? I told you you'd get this!" Davey smiled.

She and Alex had gone out to lunch at their favorite burger place and sat down at the picnic table outside to study while they ate.

After a bit of struggling, Alex managed to understand his work a bit better and he was beaming happily as Davey praised his work.

"Well, I had a pretty awesome teacher. Hey, maybe that's something you should consider doing." Alex suggested.

"Yeah, no way. I don't think I have the patience to become a teacher. Kids and teenagers are all evil." Davey said.

Feeling her ponytail coming undone, Davey groaned and pulled out the elastic band, annoyed with how weak they were.

She hated the fact that she could never find an hair elastic that was strong enough to hold her long, thick hair up.

Seeing the girl with her hair down, Alex smiled at the sight and was unable to stop himself as he reached out and wrapped a lock of the silky raspberry colored mane around a finger.

"You should really leave your hair down more. It looks beautiful and should get shown off more." Alex stated.

Face burning red at the compliment to her hair, Davey ducked her head down.

Alex continued to play with Davey's hair, amazed with how beautiful it was and admired the sweet and innocent expression that was on her face at the moment.

Looking up from under her lashes, Davey seemed to flutter her eyes and Alex was captivated by how whimsical the action was and found himself leaning in.

Before he could do whatever he was planning, a loud car horn interrupted them making Alex jerk back from Davey and release his hand on her hair.

Lorna had pulled up in front of them in her green mustang, giving Davey an ice cold expression.

"Hey, what are you doing here?" Lorna demanded.

"Davey was helping me study for the French test. If I don't ace it then I can't play football or go to prom." Alex explained.

"I see. Get in; I'll give you a ride back to school." Lorna said.

"Um..." Alex trailed off as he looked over at Davey.

"Go on. I can get back to school on my own." Davey gave him a small smile.

"If you're sure. I'll see you later." Alex said as he packed up his books and walked over to the car.

Climbing into the passenger side of the car, Alex was stunned when Lorna threw her arms around him and kissed his neck, sending Davey a cruel smirk as she did so.

Fighting off the urge to curse out the green bitch like she wanted, Davey kept silent and watched as Alex and Lorna drove off back to the school.

"That girl is a cunt." Someone spoke up.

"Jesus!" Davey exclaimed and nearly fell off the bench she was sitting on.

Standing behind her was Toni Stark and her boyfriend Steve Rogers who was stunned by the language the two girls had used.

"Really? Do you two not know how to talk without cursing?" Steve complained.

Rolling her eyes at the tall blond, Toni reached up and kissed his cheek.

"You're adorable when you're being the language police." Toni cooed making him blush.

Turning her attention back onto Davey, the girl she used to take care of and tutor when she attended high school with her, Toni then sat down beside her.

"Would you mind telling me why Summers is dating that girl? She's horrible. And we all know that you're head over heels for him. So, why haven't you made a move?" Toni asked.

"Toni, I don't want to do anything that's gonna ruin our friendship. I'd rather have Alex in my life as a friend then scare him off with my stupid feelings." Davey sighed.

Steve then sat down beside Toni and wrapped an arm around the dark haired tanned beauty's shoulders, pulling her into his side.

"Believe me, I know how you feel. I used to feel the same way with Toni, but, everything turned out right in the end. And you won't really know if things will work out with Alex unless you tell him." Steve advised.

Smiling at the way how Steve was taking on a brotherly role for Davey, Toni turned to her boyfriend and kissed his cheek.

He knew how important Davey was to Toni and she loved the fact that he tried his best to help the girl when she needed someone to be there for her.

"I-I don't know. I mean, if he did like me, then wouldn't he have asked me out instead of being with Lorna?" Davey asked.

"I say you should just tell him. And if he doesn't like you the same way, then, you two can figure out a way to work around this and still be friends." Toni insisted.

Humming in thought about that, Davey then stood up and was lead over to Toni's car so she and Steve could give her a ride back to school so she wasn't late for class.

(The next day...)

Wanda and Davey had gone out shopping for their prom dresses while Pietro went to pick up his tux with Alex and Bobby.

That night, it was the big school football game and Davey sat down on the bleachers with her other friends Kari Kamiya, TK Takaishi and Ken Ichijouji.

"Hey, did the game start yet?" Davey asked as she sat down with a soda and tub of popcorn.

"Nothing yet. The cheerleaders are just warming up." Kari smiled up at her.

"And here comes the Wicked Witch herself." TK commented as he spotted Lorna strutting out onto the field in her cheerleading outfit.

"TK, be nice." Kari chastised.

"Kari, you don't like her either." TK stated.

"Guys, please don't start fighting." Ken pleaded.

"Yeah, I seriously don't want to hear anything about Lorna tonight. We're here to cheer on Alex." Davey reminded.

"We know, you're right. Sorry. So, I heard you're going to prom with Wanda and Pietro. Does that mean Pietro's tie is going to match Wanda's dress or yours?" Kari asked.

"I'm not sure, but I think he's getting me a corsage." Davey shrugged.

"I'm happy you're going after all." Ken smiled.

"Yeah. Now all of us get to have some fun before graduation." TK grinned.

Smiling at that, Davey turned her attention onto the field as the football players came rushing out onto the field and everyone cheered.

The twins soon arrived and sat down with the group as they watched the game go on, cheering for Alex as he pushed himself hard to win the game.

By the end of the game, he managed to scare the winning points and everyone was cheering loudly and jumping up and down happily.

Making her way down the stands to congratulate Alex on his win, Davey stopped when she saw something that took her by surprise.

Lorna was flirting with a member of the opposing team.

Alex turned away from his teammates who were all praising him on his win and spotted Lorna touching the boy's face and leaning in close to him as she flirted with him.

Angered by what he was seeing, Alex stormed over and started yelling at Lorna, getting into another argument with her while Kari and Wanda stood on either side of Davey, grabbing her arms and pulling her away.

(Prom Night...)

The day had finally arrived.

Exams had all been completed and the students were getting ready for prom night so they could have fun and celebrate the completion of their hard work.

Sitting in her room, Davey was waiting for Toni to arrive to help her get ready for the night before the twins showed up to take her to the prom.

Looking out the window, Davey spotted Alex dressed in his tux and was sitting on his bed to put on his shoes.

"Whoa, check you out. You look good in a tux." Davey grinned as she leaned on the windowsill.

Hearing the girl's voice, Alex looked over at her and chuckled as he stood up to show himself off.

"Thanks. Why aren't you dressed yet?" Alex asked as he poked his head out the window.

"I'm waiting for Toni to show up and help me get ready." Davey explained.

"Too bad, I was hoping the two of us could take pictures together." Alex said.

"We'll do it when we get to the dance. I know for a fact that Kari is gonna have her camera glued to her hand for the night." Davey grinned.

"Yeah, I guess so. Anyway, I better get going now. My mom wants to take pictures of me before I leave." Alex said as he pulled away to continue getting ready.

"All right, I'll see you later." Davey said.

As she watched Alex walk away, Davey started thinking about what Steve and Toni had told her the other day.

Maybe she should just go for it and tell Alex her feelings for him.

Soon enough, Toni arrived and helped Davey do her makeup, fixed her hair and then got her changed into her dress.

Davey had her hair curled and it fell down to her waist, she wore bronze eye shadow and light pink lipstick while she was wearing a floor length sleeveless white dress that had gold beads around the bodice and kitten heels.

Wanda had her long brown hair curled and she wore red lipstick, red eye shadow and a black dress with think straps that had a red sheen to it.

Kari was wearing a yellow dress that resembled the one Belle wore in the Beauty and the Beast Disney movie which made Wanda and Davey jealous over how amazing it looked on her.

Pietro, TK, Bobby and Ken all escorted the three girls into the dance, searching for Alex who was trying to avoid Lorna that night after he caught her flirting with the football player from the opposing team.

Sighing as he poured himself a cup of punch, Alex looked over at the entrance when he spotted the boys all walking into the dance.

Wanda and Kari both looked beautiful, but when he saw Davey step through the doors, Alex tried not to choke on his drink as he stared in awe.

She looked radiant as she walked through the doors and when her eyes met his, she smiled happily and started making her way over to him.

Alex set his drink down and moved to meet her half way, but was stopped when Lorna stepped in front of him, wearing skin tight green skin.

"There you are. I've been looking all over for you." Lorna whined.

"And I've been avoiding you. I told you we were done, Lorna. I don't want to see you anymore." Alex told her.

"Why? Just because you say me talking to that guy?" Lorna asked.

"No, because you're rude, self centered and selfish. High school is over now, Lorna. It's time for you to grow up, don't you think?" Alex glared.

"Whatever! I don't know why I wasted so much time on a loser like you anyway. Go run off to that pathetic little slut of yours." Lorna huffed.

"Don't call her that. Davey is worth a hell of a lot more than you are, skank." Alex growled.

Pushing past the greenette, Alex found Davey standing aside, watching him with a worried expression.

"Hey, you okay?" She asked him.

Smiling at being in the presence of his best friend, Alex nodded and felt himself able to breathe easier and was more at ease.

"Yeah, I am. You look beautiful." He told her.

"Thanks. Um, can-can I talk to you?' Davey asked growing nervous.

"Sure, what is it?" Alex asked.

"Not here. I'd rather not have everyone spying on us. Come on." Davey said as she took Alex's hand and pulled him off with her.

"You think she's finally going to do it?" Kari asked as she and the others watched.

"I hope so. I really want them to get together." TK said.

Outside of the gym, Davey steeled her nerves and turned back around to face Alex who was staring at her expectantly.

"What is it? Is something wrong?" Alex questioned.

"Um, well... God, this is so hard to say. I like you. I-I have feelings for you. I have for a while now, but I didn't feel like I could tell you because I didn't want to screw up our friendship." Davey revealed.

Stunned by the reveal, Alex was unsure of how to react.

What he did notice, though, was that he felt a sudden surge of joy that erupted inside of him and he couldn't fight off the smile that started growing on his face.

Davey was an amazing person and she was someone he couldn't see himself able to spend time away from, which was why he insisted they go to the same college as each other.

"Y-You're not saying anything. Is that a good thing or what?" Davey asked as her face burned red.

Reaching forward, Alex cupped her face and leaned over to kiss her forehead.

"I'm willing to try this out. I'm always happy with you and I think I'll be happier if I we tried out a relationship together." He told her.

"A-Are you being serious?" Davey asked with a hopeful expression.

"Yeah, I am." Alex nodded and leaned his forehead against hers.

The music inside of the gym changed to a slow song and Alex offered his arm to Davey.

"Let's go inside and have some fun." He told her.

"Gladly." Davey grinned as she linked her arms with his.

When the duo walked into the gym arm in arm, their friends were all grinning wildly and Kari was quick to snap some pictures of them to send to Jun and Toni so they could remember this wonderful night.

To be continued...
