"A Second Chance at Happiness"

Please enjoy and review!

It had been years since they had graduated from high school and the couple had moved far away from their home to escape all of the dangers that were going on.

They had moved to New England and found a large house that was surrounded by a large field that they could plant a garden in or build whatever they wanted.

Sadly, they would often get dragged back to Mystic Falls to help their friends fight off the new villain of the month, but once it was done, they would quickly retreat back to their private life where they would relax and enjoy their beautiful home.

After a few years together, Stefan Salvatore and Davey Motomiya had decided to have a baby, but since the vampire was unable to conceive, they agreed on adoption and took in fraternal twins James and Josephine whom they called Jamie and Josie for short.

At the moment, Davey was putting down newspapers while Stefan pulled out the paint and brushes for the children to use.

Josie and Jamie had wandered around picking up large pinecones and decided to paint them to make decorations for Christmas.

"Okay kids, everything's ready. Just remember not to get paint of the floor." Stefan told them.

"Okay, Daddy!" Jamie chirped.

"Mommy, I want the gold paint!" Josie exclaimed.

"All right, calm down." Davey smiled.

Once the children had their paints and brushes handed over, they quickly set to work grabbing the pinecones they liked best and started painting them.

Stepping back, Davey smiled at the sight of the adorable blond children as they worked together and she felt Stefan wrap an arm around her waist, pressing a kiss to her temple.

"Come on, let's go get started on dinner." Stefan told her.

"No, I'll make dinner. You stay here and keep an eye on the twins. Make sure they don't have a paint war." Davey grinned.

Pressing a kiss to his lips, Davey then walked off to the kitchen while Stefan smiled after her, pleased with the life he was now living.

Damon, his brother, would often taunt him for the domestic lifestyle he was indulging in, but Stefan was happy.

For many years, he had desired a nice, normal life where he didn't have to worry about being hunted down or struggling to control his blood lust.

With Davey's support and help, he learned to control his thirst for human blood and no longer felt his Ripper personality take over when he fed.

"Daddy, are you going to paint with us?" Jamie asked.

"Sure. But I'm not very good at it like you two are." Stefan told them.

"We'll help you, Daddy. Come paint with us." Josie smiled up at him as she held out a paint brush.

Smiling down at the two six year olds, Stefan moved to sit down on the floor between them and started painting the pinecones with them.

Later on, Davey had completed cooking the spaghetti and meat sauce and was about to take the garlic bread out of the oven when Stefan carried the twins into the kitchen.

"Hey, the food is ready. I hope everyone is hungry." Davey called.

"Yeah, but we might want to take a quick bath first." Stefan said.

Confused by this, Davey turned around with the tray of bread in her hands and her mouth dropped at the sight of her children and husband covered in paint.

"What happened?" She asked trying not to laugh at the sight.

"They had a little disagreement." Stefan informed.

"He took my pinecone!" Josie yelled.

"No, it was mine!" Jamie glared.

Laughing at this, Davey shook her head in amusement as she walked over to the table and set the tray down before she made her way over to her children.

"Now, now, calm down. You don't have to fight over a pinecone. There are plenty more outside you can have. Now, let's go get you three washed up." Davey told them.

"Fine." The twins huffed as they pouted.

Sharing a look of amusement with her husband, Davey stood up and pecked Stefan on the lips.

"I'll go get them washed up. We'll be down in a few minutes." Stefan said.

"Uh huh." Davey smirked with a tone of disbelief.

She knew her children very well and had a feeling they would start a mess in the bathroom while Stefan tried to clean them up.

It was adorable how the twins had a sibling rivalry going on just like Stefan did with Damon and how Davey did with Jun.

"We'll be done soon. Really. Don't worry about it." Stefan told her.

"Yeah, no, I believe you. Don't worry about it. Go. Get yourselves all squeaky clean and then we can eat." Davey continued to smirk.

Nodding at that, Stefan carried the twins upstairs while Davey watched him.

It was silent for a few minutes before Renamon appeared in the room with Veemon at her side, the two Digimon returning from the grocery store with the gelato Davey had asked them to get.

"We're back! Is dinner ready yet?" Veemon asked.

"Where are the children?" Renamon asked as she placed the tub of gelato into the freezer.

"They got all messy from painting and now Stefan is giving them a bath." Davey informed.

Veemon scoffed at that, looking very amused as she washed his hands and dried them off before he took a slice of the garlic bread.

"The food's gonna go to waste by the time they get down here." Veemon said.

Renamon chuckled at that, taking a bottle of water out of the fridge to drink before she sat down at the table.

"That's what I thought. You two watch over the food and I'll go help Stefan bathe the twins." Davey said as she started making her way upstairs.

"Good luck with that!" Renamon called.

The fox was soon joined by Veemon who took a seat beside her, their ears twitching as they listened to the couple struggling to bathe their children who were more interested in playing in the water with their small boats and dolphins than getting clean.

"You know, there are moments when I want to have kids of my own." Veemon brought up.

Ears twitching at this confession, Renamon glanced down at her friend who was munching on his bread.

"Oh?" She mused.

"Yep. Then I remember what the twins are like and wonder if I can handle caring for kids. Who knows? Maybe one day when I'm a bit older." Veemon shrugged.

Renamon smiled at that and watched as Davey came down with Jamie in her arms while Stefan was carrying Josie, the children now clean and in their pajamas while the couples was soaked with water.

"I thought the twins were the ones being given the bath." Renamon smirked.

"Yeah, you're hilarious." Stefan said as he set Josie down.

He worried that they were going to have to give the twins a second bath after they are served their messy meals.

A few hours later, the twins had been washed up for the second time that night and were put to bed before Stefan and Davey returned to their own rooms and collapsed on the bed.

"Oh, god. I'm dead. I'm dead to the world." Davey groaned.

Stefan chuckled at that as he wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her into his chest and started kissing a path along her shoulder.

"You're not dead, baby, you're just tired. It's been a long day of running around outside with the kids." Stefan said as he rubbed at her back.

Rolling around, Davey nuzzled her face into Stefan's neck and simply relaxed against him, content to fall asleep in her husband's arms before waking up and having to repeat the same thing all over again tomorrow.

The end.
