Everytime I think "oh I don't have much to cover here", somehow I end up writing a lot of nonsense. 15 years of writing and old habits die hard lmao

"Your… patient?" Bucky clarified.

Chuckling, Harry nodded. "Yes. I've received sufficient information today to formulate a rough treatment process and plan. And I'm satisfied by our interactions today to see no issues arising in terms of compatibility."

"Compatibility," Bucky dumbly repeated. Felt like he was doing that quite a lot today.

"Well, yes. Unlike our usual mind healing cases with wizards and witches – which are generally very straightforward and involve minimal to no interaction with our patient since they are aware of how delicate our work is – I believe that with patients of little to no magical exposure, it is important to get along with the patient."

Harry held up a finger, "firstly because it makes the process much easier. Obviously if there is no trust or goodwill from either party, it is already jeopardizing our duty of care should a mistake or "accident" occur simply due to unprofessionalism. Second; it will also make non-magical aspects of treatment – such as discussions and therapy – smoother. I assume it would be hard to 'open up' or speak truthfully with someone you didn't get along with, regardless if it was for your treatment."

"Mind healing is a precarious form of magical healing as it is. You can probably equate it to muggle… brain surgery?" Harry rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Perhaps not has high-risk, but certainly a delicate art that should never be done brashly or with a clouded judgement."

James was nodding along, seriously considering what Harry had explained. It made sense, in a way. "I see…" he saw Harry's expectant look and realized he hadn't really given an answer. He was silent for a few moments longer as he seriously debated Harry's question. Certainly, he was way out of his depth here. He glanced back at Harry, who was giving him space and fiddling with his notebook.

"Alright," James decided. "From what I can tell, you know your stuff, and you've been vouched for by the Wakandan's team too. You're right that I normally wouldn't trust people to go rifling around in my head… but I can see from today that you're at least professional when you need to be, and I can appreciate that."

He extends his hand out to Harry, "please take care of me, doc."

Huffing and rolling his eyes, Harry grasped his hand firmly. "I'll do my best, James."

After James had been whisked away presumably to introduce him to his temporary living quarters among those who worked in the design group, Harry met up again with Jidea and her team of healers. He brought up the diagnostics he had run on James earlier and discussed some issues which could be addressed, and others that were not necessarily vital, but still posed issues health-wise.

There were three main areas they focused on, and the group of healers – ten in total – split up to focus on remedies for each to propose to James in the morning. Both the Wakandans and Harry reached out to their potion master contacts to see if there were any relevant remedies that could be useful to assist their treatment.

Shuri popped by at one point and raised her brows at their work. She started rambling about tech and building something to account for stress while walking off. Harry and the others stared after her for a moment before shrugging and getting back to work.

Harry consulted Jidea and Thante as well on the actual mind-healing aspect of the treatment and ran them through the same rough treatment plan he had given James earlier. They worked together to refine it and the two veteran mind healers provided their own perspectives and advice on how to approach each treatment.

He also brought up his conversation with the royal siblings over dinner about setting up a separate area for James to spend his time and work through his treatments in. Jidea found the idea interesting and noted that she would set up a sort of rotating schedule of having one or two healers on-site to assist if necessary, and that each 'change of shift' could be used to help deliver necessary supplies from the city. Thante had expressed support over the external encampment idea as well. Hailing from the Border Tribe himself, Thante said he could put feelers out to see if there was an area suitable for them to use.

First, Harry would need to get back and gather all the necessary resources for a trip. Obviously with the portkey he could always return whenever, but he would prefer to avoid portkey-ing back and forth too often. Then they would they would address James' physical healing needs. Hopefully by that point they would be able to set themselves up in a semi-permanent location to move to for the foreseeable future.

After falling face-first onto his bed the moment he returned home yesterday, Harry set out with a list of errands to carry out before he returned to Wakanda for the beginning of an indefinite amount of time.

First, he organized things at home; clearing up his usual build-up of mess. He also had to let Kreacher know to keep things in order while he was away. He set out a pile of clothes, necessary toiletries as well as a decent amount of work materials, documents and his research notes to bring with him.

Second, he made a quick stop by the Ministry. Luckily, he managed to catch Kingsley on the man's way out to lunch to let him know that he'd accepted the job and would be operating from Wakanda for the foreseeable future. He then ducked into Hermione's department and had to awkwardly linger around while waiting for her to return from a meeting. Fielding curious stares and questions from her colleagues, he was saved shortly after by Hermione who took one glance at him and suggested heading out for a coffee.

Harry updated her on taking the request and his move to Wakanda. She seemed excited, questioning him enthusiastically about Wakanda. Harry offhandedly suggested asking the Wakandans to give the two-way portkey to Kingsley or her instead, in case they needed to reach him or even just to check in if they wanted.

"I definitely will visit!" Hermione insisted. "I've read a lot about Wakanda and have always wanted to visit, but they're surprisingly strict on visitors; even of the magical kind. Apparently, they don't even have a formal Ministry, but rather the King is the head of both muggle and magical state; with magical representatives among his council of elders! And historically, they don't seem to have had any issues with this structure."

"Ohhh just imagine the implications this has for the potential of future integration with muggles in other countries! I only caught a brief sight of the new King T'Challa when he came as an envoy to re-establish a treaty with us. Do you think I could meet with him when I visit? Oh, but he is the King now and would probably be too busy… But your patient is under his direct care, right? So maybe it wouldn't be unusual for him to show up…"

Harry smiled in amusement as Hermione continued rambling, not even caring if he was paying attention at this point. He settled on assuring her there were probably plenty of other interesting things to observe in Wakanda if she did visit and the King did not make an appearance. They finished off their tea not long after Hermione's wand twitched and she was reminded of another meeting she had to attend.

After parting ways, Harry headed to St Mungo's for his third errand; submitting paperwork for his new job. Having done it plenty of times before, it didn't take very long, thankfully. A few of his colleagues he was friendly with greeted him when he came and raised their brows in curiosity when they asked about the job and was told it would be in Wakanda. One experienced mind healer apparently knew Jidea from way back and Harry promised to pass on her regards.

He ducked out of the mind healers' headquarters and up into the third floor of St Mungo's to the potions floor. Weaving his way around patients, then a room of various potions being brewed, then a large storage area, Harry squeezed into the smaller back room where some of the resident potions masters worked. Unfortunately, the person he was looking for wasn't in today.

Instead, Harry gratefully accepted a scrap of parchment and sat down at an empty table to scribble out an overview about James' various maladies. He identified four main areas of concern that he wanted to focus on. At the bottom, with liberal use of question marks everywhere, he listed a handful of potions he thought may be useful. Tapping his wand to the finished note, his titles appeared along the bottom and the letter sealed itself up with a privacy charm that only allowed its intended viewer to open it. He handed the note over to another wizard to pass onto them.

Getting up and stretching his muscles a little bit, Harry exited St Mungo's and walked the few blocks to Diagon Alley. There, he quickly finished up his errands buying a comprehensive potions set for healers with the help of his authorized healers license, some basic furniture and a fully equipped working station; all conveniently pre-packed into a decent tent with multiple rooms, fitted with an extension charm and various other protection and privacy spells.

Just before the sun began to set, Harry also popped into Gringotts to inform his accounts manager to liaise with the goblins in Wakanda to have some of his account transferred over. He also pocketed a substantial amount of muggle Wakandan currency to hopefully cover anything additional he may need there. With all that finished, Harry apparated back home and heaved a sigh of fatigue.

He dumped his purchases haphazardly in his room and appreciatively sat down to dinner at the table as he reviewed his mental checklist of errands. He hummed in contentment as Kreacher brought out his favourite treacle tart for dessert. His eyes scrunched up in quiet delight at the realization that Kreacher was likely treating him to his favourite – despite the grouchy old elf constantly complaining about his unhealthy eating habits – as an indulgence before his long 'work trip'.

He intended to do a little bit of work before heading to bed, but Harry found himself surprisingly tired after settling almost all his errands today. After curling up in bed with some of his research material, he must've drifted off unexpectedly as the next thing he knew, he was waking up the next morning. Drowsily taking stock, he realized with some embarrassment that Kreacher must've come in and put away his papers, glasses and organized all the items he had strewn all over the floor. Not to mention changed his usual casual attire into pajamas and tucked him into bed.

He stretched leisurely and groaned at a few cricks before rolling out of bed and start his arduous packing process. He should probably make a checklist just to be sure but… well, Kreacher could always pop in and out to wherever he was – perks of being the Head of the House of Black – even if he did forget something.

Humming as he packed, Harry absently wondered if he would feel homesick in Wakanda. He hadn't had to move or spend a substantial amount of time in a new place for some time; practically since he graduated Hogwarts. Moving to Hogwarts was a dream; he definitely preferred it over his previous 'home' and therefore missed the school more than he did Privet Drive. Grimmauld Place was depressing all around – the atmosphere, the memories, the connotations of the Black House itself – and he'd left and bought a brighter, more manageable home in London soon after.

Sure, he'd been lonely spending time away from friends after so many years of living in the same dorms and seeing each other most days of the year. But he had been kept busy with work; first training to be a healer then making the decision to undergo the rigorous process to qualify as a mind healer. Thinking about it, other than sleeping and to wind down from a tiring day, he didn't really spend that much time at home here either.

Chuckling, he realized that moving to Wakanda would probably be a totally new change again as he'd be both working with James and living in the same space. He hoped wherever they had decided to set up base in would be nice and bright at least.

I have a lot of marking to do this coming week so if my updates start to slow you'll know why :')
