"Veela and Werecat"

Please enjoy and review!

Standing in front of a mirror, Draco Malfoy looked himself over, making sure his clothing were unwrinkled and didn't have any lint to them while his silvery blond locks were neatly combed.

This year, going to Hogwarts had a more impotant meaning to him since he had recently turned 16 years old and he had come into his Veela inheritence.

Because of this, he had a few special abilities that were awakened and he also had a mate that he would need to find.

The more time went by, the more eager his inner Veela wanted to break out and hunt down his mate, wherever she may be and when he found her, he wanted to make sure that he looked prim and proper, not wanting to give her any reason to reject him.

Lucius Malfoy, his father, had stated that his son's mate better be a pureblood to insure they had a powerful heir, but Narcissa Malfoy had given her husband a look that made him back away in fear as she reprimanded him for saying something like that.

Narcissa didn't care if her future daughter-in-law was a pureblood, half-blood or a muggle born, all she wanted was strong and healthy grandchildren to spoil which helped to take the preasure off of Draco.

Hearing a knock on his door, Draco turned to find his mother standing there smiling at him.

"It's time to go now." Narcissa said.

"Right, I'm almost done." Draco said as he looked over his reflection one last time.

Shaking her head in amusement, Narcissa walked over to her son and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"You look perfect. But you have to remember that the most important thing is to treat your mate properly. Forget everything you learned about the courting routines you learned from your father and listen to your instincts. They will lead you right when it comes to courting your mate." Narcissa told him.

Draco gave his mother a small smile before he gathered his bags and began to make his way out of the manor, eager to get to Hogwarts so that he could begin his search for his mate.

(At 9 and ¾…)

The second he stepped into the train station, Draco was able to pick up multiple scents all around him and frowned when he wasn't able to pick up the one that would make his blood heat up and his mouth water.

Sighing, he made his way over to the large black and red train, spotting Blaise Zabini who was nodding politely to whatever Luna Lovegood was saying to him.

Luna was an odd girl, always speaking of things that no one knew of and most people assumed that she was mad.

Most people would insult her or ignore her if she tried speaking with them, but Blaise was more patient compared to others and would rather remain silent.

Draco watched and saw that the conversation seemed to end as soon as Luna handed an issue of the Quibbler over to Blaise who accepted it with a polite nod of his head.

"I wasn't aware that you were reaching out to charity programs, Blaise." Draco teased.

The Italian wizard didn't reacte to what his friend said while Luna turned her large blue eyes on Draco.

She seemed to be looking right through him and it made his skin prick in annoyance.

Finally, Luna gave a sweet smile.

"Congragulations on your inheritence, Malfoy. And you won't have to worry about searching too far. Your intended is closer than you suspect." Luna said.

Hearing what the young witch had said, Draco stared at her in shock, horror and confusion as he wondered how she knew about what he was going through.

He did everything he could to make sure no one knew that he was part Veela since he wanted no one to cause any issues for him.

How was is possible that Looney Luna Lovegood has figured it out?

"What are you talking about?" Draco demanded.

"Relax, Malfoy. Lovegood is a seer. A real one, not an insane hack like that divination professor." Blaise assured the boy.

Blinking at that, Draco looked at Blaise in shock before he then turned his attention back onto Luna who was smiling dreamily.

So, Looney Lovegood was a seer.

It made perfect sense now with how she behaved and seemed to know things that others didn't.

"She's quite lovely. As sweet as a kitten, but can be more fierce than a lion. I find that to be very ironic since that isn't the house she belongs in. She isn't very fond of red. It's a very violent color. Yellow is much more peaceful and happy." Luna mused.

Confusion filled Draco as he listened to what Luna had told him, but then he began to realize that the seer was giving him clues to who his mate could be.

Hearing the train whistle blow, Luna gave a small smile to the two Slytherins before she began to make her way to the Ravenclaw area and Draco wanted to reach out and stop, intent on learning more about his mate, but Blaise stopped him.

"Relax, Draco. Let's just head inside and think things through properly." Blaise told him.

Draco wanted to complain and lash out at his friend for stopping him from finding out more information on his mate, but he allowed the boy to pull him onto the train.

Arriving at the Slytherin section of the train, Draco almost groaned in annoyance at the sight of Pansy Parkinson who was smiling at him.

He had hoped that the crush the girl had on him would have faded away, especially after her father had already written up a marriage contract between her and someone else, but ti seemed that Draco's hopes were in vain.

"There you two are! How was your summer?" Pansy asked.

It seemed that she wanted Draco to sit beside her, but Blaise thankfully saved him by sliding into the seat that Pansy had left wide open and the dark haired witch looked at him in annoyance.

"Oh, it was quiet and uneventful." Blaise drawled.

The train then began to move, signaling that it was time for the students to all settle down and enjoy the ride since it would be quite a while until they reached Hogwarts.

Sitting down in the seat across from his house mates, Draco stared out the window as his mind drifted off to the clues that Luna had given him about his mate.

Luna had said that his mate was as fierce as a lion, but that wasn't the house she was in, didn't like red and that she preffered the color yellow.

It took Draco a while to slowly figure out what the clues meant.

But, about an hour later, it finally clicked in his mind.

Yellow was the color for Hufflepuff house.

His mate could be as sweet as a kitten and the only house that had people that were docile and good were in Hufflepuff.

His mate had been sorted into Hufflepuff house and that was the compartment she was hidden away in.

Draco realized that his father may be disgusted by the fact that his future daughter-in-law was in the badger house since that was where most of the half-bloods and muggleborns were sorted into, but there were a few purebloods there as well.

Besides, this was his mate and no one, not even his father, was going to stand in Draco's way of finding her and claiming her.

With that thought in mind, Draco eagerly jumped ot his feet, startling Pansy and Blaise who watched as the Ice Prince of Slytherin quickly rushed out of the compartment they were in.

"Draco, where are you going?" Pansy called.

When the boy didn't answer back, Pansy frowned and turned to look at Blaise who was smirking.

"What's going on with him?" Pansy demanded.

"He has someone important to meet with." Blaise stated.

Making his way down the train, Draco glanced around him at some of the other students who were in their own cars or who were getting treats from the snack lady.

As he walked, he started to sniff at the air to see if he would pick up that scent that only his mate would have, but he hadn't been able to and he figured that maybe he would only be able to locate it when he was in the Hufflepuff car.

He passed by the Gryffindor compartment and he caught the attention of the Golden Trio who were confused to see him.

Harry Potter was curious over what Draco was up to and he was going to follow him, but Hermione Granger grabbed his arm and told him to stay out of it.

Hermione had seen Draco's eyes turn black and she knew what that meant and she didn't want Harry to get in the way of a Veela who seemed to be on a mission.

Draco finally reached the door to the Hufflepuff compartment and took in a deep breath, trying to steele his nerves before he opened the door and felt like he was going to fall over in pleasure.

A delicious smell of fresh farm apples, warm vanilla and sweet tea overwhemled his sences and enveloped him in a comforting embrace.

It was the scent of his mate and she was close by.

Steadying himself, Draco walked down the compartment and ignored the confused looks he was receiving from the students that were sitting in their own cars.

Following the delicious scent to a more empty area of the Hufflepuff compartment, Draco stopped outside the closed door to a car and found a curtain had been drawn for privacy.

Shaking in anticipation, Draco opened the door and he was stunned by what he found.

The seats and floor were covered with pillows of various shades of yellow, pink and purple to make the compartment more comfortable to relax in for the long hours it took to get to Hogwarts.

Snoring away on the seat was a two foot tall lizard creature that had yellow markings on its face.

Draco had never seen a creature like it before, but tore his eyes away from it to focus on the body that was curled up on the nest of pillows that were on the floor.

The girl looked to be about 16 years old and she had tanned skin that had a light dusting of freckles here and there, and she had raspberry red hair that was cut to above her shoulders and was slightly messy.

Her body was what Draco could describe as womanly.

She wasn't skinny, but she also wasn't fat.

The girl had curves along with large hips, breasts and thighs that stood out because of the muggle clothing she was wearing which were a pair of skinny jeans and a black spaghetti strapped top.

Something that shocked him about his mate, though, were the two black furry cat ears that were on her head and the long black tail that was twitching about, showing that the girl was dreaming.

His mate was a werecat and she was perfect.

Purring happily at the sight of his mate who was resting in the nest she had built, Draco gave in to his Veela instincts and he closed the door behind him, crawling over to lay down in front of the werecat.

Feeling the movement of the Veela laying down with her, the werecat began to wake up and her eyes opened to reveal a pair of chocolate brown orbs.

Draco froze, feeling worried that his mate would throw a fit and reject him right then and there.

Frowning in confusion, the raspberry haired girl rubbed at her eyes as she tried to wake herself up and stared at the wizard in confusion.

"Malfoy? What are you doing here?" She asked.

The way she said his name was a shock to him.

Usually, whenever someone said his name, it was always filled with fear or hate, but the way his mate said his name sounded so sweet and innocent, he loved it.

Looking a bit annoyed that he wasn't answering her, the werecat pushed herself up onto her elbows and was stunned when she took notice of the black eyes.

"Uh, Malfoy, are you okay?" She asked him.

"I'm perfectly fine." Draco purred as he leaned down and began to nuzzle into the girl's neck.

Stunned, the girl placed her hands on Draco's chest and pushed him away.

"Okay, I'm going to need some more context on what the hell is going on." The girl said.

"Daisy, what's going on?" Someone asked.

Looking over to the seat, Draco saw the blue lizard creature had woken up and was staring at the duo with large scarlet red eyes.

"Trying to figure that out, Veemon." The girl, Daisy, told him.

"Isn't that guy in Slytherin? What's a Slytherin student doing in the Hufflepuff car, Daisy?" Veemon asked the girl.

"Daisy, that's your name?" Draco asked as he tested out the name.

Daisy Malfoy had a nice ring to it.

"Well, actually it's Daisuke. Daisuke Motomiya, but everyone calls me Daisy." She explained.

Thinking the name over, Draco remembered that there was a pureblood Japanese family called Motomiya.

His grandfather had gone to school with a Motomiya and that man was probably Daisy's grandfather.

"Daisy, it's a beautiful name." Draco purred.

"I don't remember this guy being this nice." Veemon mused.

"I think we caught him on a good day, Vee." Daisy commented.

Pushing herself up, Daisy moved to sit on the seat above her and Draco eagerly followed after her, sitting as close to her as possible and she moved her tail out of the way so there was room for him.

"So, what's your name again?" Veemon asked as he sat down on Daisy's lap and the girl smiled down at her lizard as she pet his head.

"Draco. Draco Malfoy." He answered as he smiled down at Daisy who turned to look at him.

"Nice to meet cha, I'm Veemon." The blue lizard greeted cheerfully.

"You never answered my question, Malfoy." Daisy said.

"Draco. Call me Draco." He insisted.

He wanted to hear his mate call him by his given name.

"Okay, Draco, why are you in here? And why are your eyes black?" Daisy asked as she gave him a look.

"Ooh, that reminds me of the french girl we met during the tri wizard thingy. She said she was a…veera?" Veemon brought up.

"I think you mean a Veela." Daisy corrected.

"I am a Veela." Draco confessed.

Chocolate brown eyes grew wide in surprise at that and Daisy stared up at Draco.

"He does kind of look like that girl. Pale skin, almost white hair…" Veemon listed off.

"Wait, so, you're a Veela? What does that have to do with you being in here with—Oh, my dear sweet Hecate." Daisy cut herself off.

She had just remembered something that Fleur Delacour had told her about male Veelas and what happened when they reach their inheritences.

"What? What happened?" Veemon asked.

Releasing a sigh as she tried to think over how she felt about this, Daisy turned her attention back onto Draco and saw how his black eyes had returned to their natural silvery grey color and he appeared nervous.

He knew that she figured out why he was there and he was scared that she was going to throw him out of her compartment and reject him.

"Am I your mate?" Daisy asked.

Eyes growing wide, Veemon wondered if he could sneak away and give the duo some privacy as they have this talk.

Draco tried to remain calm on the outside, but on the inside he was losing his mind in fear of what could happen.

"…Does that bother you?" He questioned.

"Honestly, not as much as being forcefully married off to some pureblood heir lord asshole. My Veela friend, Fleur? She told me about Veelas and their mates and the bond between them." Daisy explained.

Taking a deep breath, Daisy moved closer to Draco and leaned her head on his shoulder, breathing in the scent of mint, musk and lavender that clung to the wizard and it made her smile in contentment.

An overwhemling amount of happiness flooded Draco's sences at the actions of his mate and her words.

She wasn't rejecting him, she seemed to be willing to give him a chance.

Pleased, Draco wrapped his arms around Daisy and lifted her onto his lap making her and Veemon squeak in surprise, before they both relaxed into the embrace.

"So, will you be my girlfriend?" Draco asked as he nuzzled his face in her hair.

"Only if you like cuddling. And you're okay with being a couple in public." Daisy said.

Grinning, Draco began purring as he held Daisy close to his chest.

"I'm making sure everyone knows you're mine, so that won't be a problem." Draco said as he kissed her temple.

Resting her head against Draco's chest, Daisy nuzzled against him and closed her eyes, deciding to go back to sleep.

She wasn't upset about learning she is the mate of a Veela and that she would marry Draco one day.

Daisy was part werecat so she knew about mates and how wonderful the bonds were and that wasn't something she was going to throw away.

Draco may view her as his, but he was equally Daisy's and she would hex anyone who tried to hurt him or take him away from her.

The end.
