"The Easter Mew"
Happy Easter everyone! Please enjoy and review!
When she arrived at Café Mew Mew for work that day, Daisy Motomiya was shocked to find that there were bunny shaped chocolates, cupcakes and other treats all over the place.
There were also flower garlands hung up from the ceiling and there were rabbit decorations and plush toys scattered around the building.
Not only that, but her fellow workers were all wearing white bunny ears and tails which made the girl's left eye twitch in slight annoyance.
What were they doing?
And did she feel like she was being made fun of?
"What the heck is this?" She demanded.
Taking notice of the raspberry haired girl, Zoey Hanson smiled at her and walked over, avoiding Kiki Benjamin who was dressed in a full rabbit costume and was bouncing around happily.
"Aren't they cute? We're getting dressed up for Easter." Zoey explained.
Daisy wasn't amused by the excitement on the cherry haired girl's face.
"As a girl who's DNA was merged with a rabbit, I can't help but find myself offended by this." Daisy said.
At that, her long white rabbit ears popped out from her head while her chocolate brown eyes flashed a cherry red color.
Corina Bucksworth chuckled at that as she walked over, holding a tea cup that had a rabbit and pink flowers on it.
"Don't be so moody, Daisy. This is all for charity after all." The blue haired girl said.
"Charity?" Daisy repeated in confusion as her appearance returned to normal.
Bridget Verdant and Renee Roberts then walked over, standing around the bunny girl who hadn't gotten the memo from their bosses about their plan.
"Yes. This year, the café will be hosting an Easter egg hunt for the local orphanage. We're also taking donations from the customers to be given to the orphanage." Bridget explained.
That information stunned Daisy.
Usually, the charities that Elliot Grant and Wesley Coolrdige III raised money for were for the environment.
They seemed pretty intent on dealing with deforestation, pollution and animals being hunted to extinction, but now it seemed like they were reaching out to other charities.
She couldn't help but to wonder where the idea came from.
"I see. So, when are we doing this?" Daisy asked.
"On Easter day, of course." Wesley said as he walked out from the kitchen.
He was holding a tray filled with cupcakes that were decorated to look like Easter eggs and some that had daisy flowers on them which made Daisy's eye twitch once again.
"I mean which one? There are two Easters." Daisy stated and placed her hands on her hips.
Renee nodded her head in agreement before turning her ice blue eyes on the man with long brown hair.
Poking out from under her uniform was the silver cross necklace she always wore.
"She's right about that. There's Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. Which day will we be hosting the event?" Renee backed the girl up.
Realizing what the girls meant, Wesley smiled at them.
"Ah, I see. It will be on Sunday. No one will have anything to do on Sunday and will be available for the event." Wesley explained.
"Well, technically, my parents tend to celebrate on Sunday, but I guess we can change it to Monday this year. I'm sure they'll understand." Daisy said.
Hearing what the girl said as he walked down the stairs from the room, Elliot looked over at Daisy while her friends all seemed to be surprised by what she told them.
"I didn't realize you celebrated this holiday." Elliot spoke up.
"Oh, yeah. When I was a kid, we used to do the Easter egg hunt and then we'd have this big dinner. Now that my sister and I are older, we just get our chocolate eggs and bunnies, then we have dinner with the family. Oh, and we also watch "It's the Easter Beagle Charlie Brown". It's tradition." Daisy smiled.
Elliot hummed at that in interest, but kept his face blank.
"That sounds lovely." Bridget said with a small smile.
"My parents usually host a large tea party out in the garden. The invite list is filled with the families of business associates of theirs." Corina informed.
Corina didn't get along with some of the snooty children of her parents' friends and hated when she had to act like a proper and polite hostess, especially to one certain girl who always got on her nerves.
Honestly, the bluenette was looking forward to be helping with the charity event at the café this year.
"I'm bringing my brothers and sister for the event. They're going to have so much fun searching for the eggs with the other kids! We usually have a small hunt at our house and then watch cartoons." Kiki exclaimed.
Everyone smiled at the young blonde girl who was always in high spirits.
Although, the girls were worried about Kiki's siblings misbehaving.
Hopefully their Digimon partners would be able to help keep them under proper control.
"I mostly just spend the day eating as much chocolate as I can." Zoey commented.
"Well, then I'm so glad you'll be cancelling such important plans to help out on Sunday." Elliot drawled.
Hearing the sarcastic tone in his voice, Zoey felt her cat ears and tail pop out as she glared at the handsome blond who walked up to stand beside Renee.
Sighing at the sight of the cat girl about to lose her temper, Daisy placed her hands on Zoey's shoulders and began to push her in the opposite direction.
"Ignore him, Z. He's just trying to rile you up." Daisy told the redhead as she pushed her towards the locker room.
"I know and it just gets under my skin!" Zoey growled.
Elliot simply smirked as he watched the white rabbit and the black cat disappear into the locker room so that Daisy could change into her uniform.
Inside the locker room was where all of the members of team Mew Mew's Digimon partners were hiding out.
They knew better than to reveal themselves when people arrived.
Daisy's partner Veemon was drawing in a sketch book with Zoey's Digimon Meicoomon who had a large smile on her face as she eagerly colored in whatever she had drawn.
Corina's partner Swanmon was watching a ballet movie on the tablet the bluenette had left for her.
Bridget's Digimon partner MarineAngemon was flying around the room, humming happily as he hung garlands of flowers from the ceiling.
Kiki's partner Coronamon was eating some cupcakes he had snuck from the kitchen when no one was looking.
Lastly, Renee's Digimon partner Renamon was sitting on a bench, reading a book, but marked her place when she heard Daisy and Zoey walk into the room.
"Hello there." The large yellow fox greeted.
Hearing Renamon talking to someone, the rest of the Digimon all turned to see the two berry haired girls standing in the room.
"Zoey, you're back!" Meicoomon cheered as she pounced on her partner who smiled down at her.
Holding the maine coon cat Digimon in her arms made Zoey feel much more relaxed than she had been earlier.
"Is it about time for the customers to arrive?" Swanmon asked as she elegantly stood.
"They'll be here any minute, which is why I need to hurry up and get dressed. So, Veemon, this is the reason why you insisted on staying here last night? To help the guys get the café decorated?" Daisy asked.
She thought it was strange when Veemon requested he sleep over at the café, but he and Wesley both assured her he would be fine.
"Yep! We worked really hard on making all those chocolates and on making decorations." Veemon grinned.
MarineAngemon giggled as he continued hanging up the flower garlands around the room and it made Daisy wonder if the adorable creature would do the same thing at Bridget's house when they got home.
Opening her locker, Daisy took out her uniform, which was a light pink color, and then walked off to the back to get changed away from everyone else.
Once she was dressed, Daisy walked out with Zoey so they could serve the customers who had arrived and were waiting to be seated.
"Daisy, I think you're forgetting something." Elliot commented.
Pausing in place, Daisy looked at Elliot in confusion before he pointed out that the rest of the girls were still wearing the rabbit ears and tails.
Groaning in annoyance, Daisy let her white rabbit ears and tail pop out while her brown eyes turned cherry red.
"Happy?" She gave him a look.
"Very. Now get to work." Elliot turned his back on her.
"Why don't you say the same thing to Corina? She's always sitting on her ass while the rest of us work our tails off." Daisy complained as her tail twitched.
Corina was sitting at her usual table, enjoying her tea which made some of the customers look at her in confusion, wondering if she really worked there since she wasn't greeting or serving anyone.
The rich girl never worked unless Renee told her to or Daisy dragged her away from the table to free it up for the customers.
Elliot simply gave Daisy an amused grin before he stalked off to help Wesley in the kitchen.
Rolling her eyes, Daisy then forced a cheery smile on her face as she greeted the customers that were entering the café.
(Later…)
After a long day of work, Daisy was pleased to finally be able to head home.
Scooping Veemon up into her arms, Daisy made her way outside, admiring the sight of the sun setting as orange, pink and purple painted the sky.
"What a great day. I can't wait until Easter arrives. All those kids are gonna be so happy when we give them their treats." Veemon chirped.
Looking down at the happy dragon in her arms, Daisy couldn't help but smile, even though she was tired and just wanted to collapse in bed.
"Yeah. It's a surprisingly kind thing Elliot and Wesley planned out." Daisy commented.
Veemon smiled at that.
Elliot and Wesley could be a bit selfish and manipulative at times, but deep down, they had good hearts.
After all, they wouldn't care about helping to save the planet if they didn't.
When Daisy first learned that she was a Mew Mew, she had demanded to know why the boys hadn't used the serum on themselves, but Elliot had told her he had tested it on himself first to make sure it was safe to use on humans.
It was safe, but his DNA wasn't compatible with the serum.
For some reason, the serum was only compatible with female DNA.
There was a chemical in the male body that didn't react well with the serum, so, Elliot and Wesley couldn't use it on themselves to transform and fight the aliens.
If they could, then Elliot would be out there fighting instead of making the girls do it.
Suddenly, Daisy's Power Pendant began flashing and Veemon's eyes narrowed as she sensed danger.
Taking out her pendant, Daisy stared at the Mew marking on it that was flashing red.
"You've gotta be kidding me. Where's that damn alien?" Daisy complained.
Yelling was heard making Daisy and Veemon turn in the direction it came from.
"That answer your question?" Veemon asked.
Setting Veemon down on the ground, Daisy kissed her pendant and held it up, calling out the transformation words as she did so.
Cherry red lights swarmed her body as it went through the usual transformation.
Her raspberry red hair became curly and was pulled back into a fancy looking ponytail while her bangs framed her face.
Chocolate brown eyes turned cherry red while a light pink gloss tinted her lips.
Her clothing turned into a red tube top that exposed her stomach and had white lace around the bust area and she had red shorts with knee length red boots while lacy white gloves appeared on her hands.
A red garter with white lace wrapped around her left thigh.
A matching necklace that had the Power Pendant wrapped around her neck.
Finally, white rabbit ears and a cottontail popped out.
"Let's get going, Veemon." Mew Daisy said as she took off running.
"Wait for me! You know I can't run as fast with my legs!" Veemon called.
The duo arrived to find what appeared to be a large chimera anima that was half human and half ram.
It was clearly a woman's torso on top of a ram's body, having cream colored fur, large horns and bright red eyes.
"Wow! That thing looks a lot like a Pajiramon!" Veemon exclaimed.
"Oh, great. Now the aliens are making chimera animas that look like Digimon. Just our luck." Mew Daisy groaned.
Shaking off her annoyance, Mew Daisy raced in and kicked the ram in the chest, stopping it from chasing after a woman and her children.
Grunting in irritation, the ram used its horns to bash Mew Daisy in the stomach, sending her flying through the air.
Twisting her body, Mew Daisy landed on the ground in a crouch and held her stomach, gritting her teeth in pain.
"That's gonna leave a bruise." Mew Daisy complained.
The children paused to stare at the girl with rabbit ears in awe as she stood up, glaring over at the monster that had attacked them.
"I'd like to know which one of the Three Stooges decided to make this thing, but I guess none of them wanted to be around to see the destruction their creation is making. Why, I have no idea. All I know is that I'm going to be having lamb chops for dinner tonight." Mew Daisy said.
Cracking her neck to work out the kink she felt, the red clad Mew Mew jumped at the ram, delivering a series of kicks and punches at the beast as t used it arms to block the attacks.
Veemon stood back and watched, wondering if the other Mew Mews had been alerted to the chimera anima in the area and if they were on their way.
Thankfully, the people had quickly left the area, leaving Mew Daisy to handle the beast without having to worry about protecting them.
The ram then grabbed Mew Daisy's leg and tossed her to the ground before an orb of green light appeared in its other hand.
Eyes growing wide at the attack, Mew Daisy jumped out of the way before the orb could hit it.
The place she had been exploded, leaving a small crater behind.
Summoning her weapon, the Cherry Tessens, which were two red and gold iron fans that had pink ribbons and the usual heart emblem that all Mew weapons had, Mew Daisy slashed at the air, sending an aura of energy at the next orb aimed at her, cancelling out the attack.
"I'm putting an end to this. Mew Cherry Heart Attack!" Mew Daisy cried.
Glowing red and pink, Mew Daisy swung her fans and released a large heart shaped blast that hit the ram, making it cry out.
When the light faded, a lamb was left behind with an infuser floating around.
Sending a small blast of energy at the infuser, Mew Daisy watched as it was purified and burst into dust.
Looking up at the rabbit girl, the lamb made an adorable noise that made her smile down at it.
"I guess I should get you back home." Mew Daisy said.
Veemon raced back over to his partner as she scooped the lamb up into her arms and he jumped onto her back.
Jumping into the air, Mew Daisy began floating off to find the petting zoo so she could return he lamb.
(The next day…)
Groaning in pain, Daisy leaned against a table while Elliot checked over the bruises on her back that she had gotten from the chimera anima.
Wesley, the girls and their Digimon were all standing around Daisy as they watched Elliot tend to her wounds.
Renee and Renamon were the only ones able to hide their discomfort at the sight of the large bruises that had been caused by the chimera anima's large horns.
"Thankfully, these only look bad. There's no serious damage done. You'll be healed in a few days time." Elliot assured.
"That's a relief." Swanmon sighed.
"I'm sorry we weren't there to help you out." Bridget apologized to Daisy.
"It's fine. No one got hurt." Daisy said as she pulled her shirt back down after Elliot was finished checking her over.
"I think maybe Daisy should sit out the Easter event. She should rest up." Wesley decided.
"What?" Zoey and Meicoomon gasped.
"Wesley, I'll be fine. I've had worst injuries than this and had to suffer through an entire day of school, plus gym and soccer practise with them. All I'll be doing is handing out treats to kids. I'll be fine." Daisy told him.
"If you're sure about this." Corina frowned.
"Just don't overwork yourself." Renee told her.
Daisy nodded at that as she and the girls all went to get changed into their uniforms so they could get the Easter egg hunt started.
The kids all soon came rushing into the park where the Mew Mews were gathered, greeting the children and handing out the baskets they would be using to gather their eggs.
The Digimon were enjoying themselves as well since everyone assumed they were kids in costumes.
Kiki's siblings were running wild, causing some stress for the Mew Mews and Zoey, Corina and Bridget chased after them to stop them from destroying anything while Renee and Daisy watched.
But then Kiki's brothers bumped into Renee and the grey wolf stared down at them with a look that could rival glaciers with how cold it was and they quickly started to behave, being terrified of her.
That made Daisy and the Digimon laugh.
It was a nice day and Café Mew Mew had managed to raise quite a bit of money from the public to donate to the children's hospital much to their joy.
When it was all over, the girls and their Digimon were brought back to the café where Wesley had presented them with a large that was modeled after Mew Daisy.
It was a red velvet cake with butter cream icing and had raspberries covering it along with a white rabbit made of fondant on top.
Everyone had their fill as they celebrated the holiday together.
The end.
