"Flowers in Central City"

I recently started watching the Flash and decided to give this a try. Please enjoy and review!

Barry Allen was thrilled with the new life he now had.

Both his parents are alive and were together, just like they were meant to be.

But he was a bit upset that the West family, Caitlin Snow and Cisco Ramone had no idea who he was.

Hoping to change that and get at least one of his friends back, Barry went straight to Jitters, praying that his long time crush Iris West worked there in this new reality.

Stepping inside the coffee shop, Barry glanced around and spotted Iris smiling as she served a customer coffee.

She looked the same as always, but there seemed to be a new life to her that she didn't have in his original timeline.

Unknown to Barry, the door behind him opened and a girl with lightly tanned skin, brown eyes and long red hair stepped inside the shop, looking around for someone.

Iris glanced up when she heard the bell on the door and smiled brightly at the sight of the redhead standing behind Barry.

"Daisy, you made it!" Iris exclaimed excitedly.

Barry frowned, not recognizing the name.

As far as he knew, Iris had never once told him about a friend named Daisy and she told him everything.

Turning to look behind him, Barry felt his heart speed up at the sight of the girl standing behind him.

She was lovely.

The girl wore a pair of beige ankle boots, light blue skinny jeans, a white spaghetti strapped top and a jean jacket while she had a cream colored purse slung over her shoulder.

The only make-up the redhead wore was the light pink lipstick on her lips which were pulled up into a sweet smile as she looked over at Iris.

"Excuse me." Daisy said as she walked around Barry, not even sparing him a glance as she kept her eyes on the dark haired woman.

Stunned, Barry watched as the redhead made her way over to Iris whose red painted lips were pulled into a very large smile, showing how happy she was.

Whoever this Daisy person, it was clear that she meant quite a great deal to Iris.

"Hey, what's going on? You called and said I needed to hurry up and get my ass down here ASAP." Daisy Motomiya said.

"I needed you to get down here right this second because I have some really important news and I didn't want to tell you over the phone! It's huge!" Iris took Daisy's hands.

Moving to a table nearby, Barry sat down and listened in on the conversation the two women were having.

"What news? Did something happen to Eddie or Joe? Is Wally okay?" Daisy asked looking worried.

"They're all great! Eddie especially! Look!" Iris exclaimed.

She held up her left hand and showed off the white gold engagement ring that was on her finger.

Jaw dropping, Daisy stared in amazement before she pulled the taller girl into a tight hug.

"Oh, my God! Iris! Eddie proposed?" Daisy nearly shouted in joy.

This news caused a pang in Barry's heart, but he couldn't stay mad.

In this reality, Iris had no idea who he was.

They never knew each other.

And here she was, marrying a good man who loved her and she was happily sharing the news with someone whom Barry believed to be Iris' best friend.

He should be happy for her.

Iris laughed and squealed happily as she returned Daisy's hug, both girls smiling brightly at the news.

"When did this happen?" Daisy asked as she pulled away.

"Last night. It's our two year anniversary and he took us to the place we had our first date at and he just proposed. It was like something out of a movie." Iris explained.

"This is so great. Joe's gonna freak when you tell him." Daisy exclaimed.

Barry couldn't help but to grin at that.

Joe never wanted his daughter to date a cop and now here she was engaged to one.

But Eddie Thawne was a good man.

Honestly, Barry couldn't think of anyone that would be better suited for Iris.

"Oh, he'll get over it. Now, there was another reason I called you here. Will you be my maid of honour?" Iris asked as she held hands with Daisy.

"Of course I will! But if you want some wild bachelorette party a la Coyote Wild, then I suggest getting my sister involved." Daisy stated making Iris laugh.

A waitress came up to Barry's table to take his order which snapped him out of his staring.

He ordered a coffee and two muffins as he watched Iris lead Daisy over to a table where they could continue talking about the engagement.

Daisy sat down at a table and Iris kissed her cheek before going off to get her something to eat and drink, knowing she should appear to be working or else her boss would be annoyed with her.

As Daisy was shrugging off her coat, she caught the greenish blue eyes of Barry who was sipping his coffee.

Freezing when he saw the cute redhead had caught him staring, Barry gave a sheepish grin to the girl which she politely returned before setting her purse down on the table.

Iris returned to the table with a large hot chocolate and a cinnamon bun which she had just heated up for the redhead.

"Here you go. The cinnamon buns were made fresh this morning, but I heated it up for you. I know you love them warm." Iris informed.

"Thanks. Um, do-do you know who that guy is?" Daisy lowered her voice as she darted her eyes over to the brunette male.

Face screwing up in confusion, Iris glanced behind her to see a cute, yet nerdy looking brunette with green eyes staring over at Daisy, but was pretending to be interested in the muffin he was tearing apart and shovelling in his mouth.

"No, I've never seen him in here before. He is cute, though." Iris commented.

"I just noticed, but I think he's been staring ever since I came into the shop." Daisy frowned.

"Maybe he's checking you out." Iris smirked playfully.

Scoffing, Daisy rolled her eyes and bit into her cinnamon bun.

"Yeah, right. He was probably checking you out, but I was in the way." Daisy said.

Displeased with the insecurity her best friend was displaying, Iris reached over and gave Daisy's shoulder a gentle shove.

"Hey! We talked about this. No bad mouthing yourself. You are gorgeous and any guy or girl would be lucky to have you. Hell, if I was into girls, WE would be getting married." Iris stated.

"Joe'd probably prefer it."Daisy muttered.

Overhearing this, Barry almost choked on his food, but was quick to wash it down with his coffee.

So, the cute redhead was bisexual and Iris was very supportive of her friend.

That was good to know.

Daisy seemed so different compared to the other girls Iris hung out with.

Usually, the dark skinned girl spent time with girls that were a bit vapid and enjoyed the latest gossip.

They were the types who would make fun of girls like Daisy.

Barry didn't like them too much, but he was polite so his best friend wouldn't get upset with him.

Daisy on the other hand seemed sweeter and gentle, but he could see a bit of a fire in her eyes.

Maybe not having Barry around allowed Iris to branch out and meet more people.

Iris laughed at what Daisy said before heading off to a different table to get someone's order.

Looking over at the cute redhead, Barry couldn't help but to wonder about her.

Where was she in his timeline?

Did she live in Central City?

If so, how could he have missed her with that gorgeous dark red hair of hers?

He wanted to know more about her, but maybe he should wait until another day.

If seemed like his staring had made her a bit uncomfortable, so, for now, he would leave.

Pulling out the amount of money he needed to pay his bill and added the tip, Barry left it on the table before getting up which caught Daisy's attention.

She met his eyes once again and he flashed the young woman a more honest smile before leaving the coffee shop behind.

The end.
