Disclaimer: I own nothing.

The Socialist Republic of Vietnam or Lien Chung was in a G8 meeting with her fellow countries in England doing what they usually argue with one another over pointless things such as who has won more wars, who has the best foods, and or the best nations.

Lien always asks why she comes to these meetings. She looks around until she sees a particular of The United States of America or Alfred F Jones having a scowl on his face, which were his signature million dollars was usually present.

Lien felt a surge of guilt, sadness, and leftover anger as she recalled the war that his country would be called Vietnam War or, as her country calls it, the American War, where her country was divided by the eighteen parallel DMZ.

Lien had to fight her people and innocent American soldiers who had the misfortune of fighting a war that the Americans couldn't win.

After the war, America and her country, Vietnam, suffered some tensions. Still, America or Alfred in the past, when she was recognized as Vietnam, tried numerous times to say he is sorry to her. Still, she felt nothing but resentment towards the blonde, and the blue-eyed star-spangled banner nation would spat insults at him whenever he tried to apologize.

Lien looking back at it now she saw the sincerity in his eyes about the war that will forever be their mind, but her pride and anger wouldn't allow her to accept Alfred's apologies. Lien felt like the biggest fool as she should have been the bigger person.

Lien looks at Alfred or America with a sad expression on her face as she recalled all of the insults she hurled at him when he tried to apologize to her numerous times in breaks in meetings.

Lien knows that their country relationship improved now, but the two countries' physical manifestation of said two countries have some tension between them that Lien hopes to clear up soon.

" Meeting over!"

Every nation gets out of their assigned seas to wait towards the exit of the meeting room, causing Vietnam to get up from her assignment desk along with grabbing her briefcase. She quickly jogs after America, who is very eager to get out of this meeting.

Vietnam said," Excuse me! Coming through!" She passes a few of her fellow nations, then she see the retreating back of America, who was at the door ready to watch out.

Vietnam said," America can I talk to you for a moment?" She looked at the retreating back of America.

Every nation paused at what they were doing in favor of looking at Vietnam and America, who paused when he heard Vietnam's voice.

Vietnam flinched as she saw America's normally friendly, cheerful, and upbeat now cold eyes gaze into her gold eyes.

America said calmly," We have nothing to talk about Vietnam." He spoke in a soft tone which made every nation taken back from the normal, boisterous, annoying superpower that America always been.

Vietnam pleaded," Please, America? Just for five minutes?" She looked at the blonde-haired superpower with pleading eyes to the nearby nation around her.

America raised an eyebrow at her, then looked at his watch, causing a scowl to emerge on his face, which threw every nation for a loop since they saw America show any form of anger except when he bombed Japan during World War Two.

America spat," Fine. You have five minutes, and then I am out of here!" He spoke in a voice that rattled some nations who are not used to seeing this side of America.

If Vietnam was bothered by his tone, she did a good job hiding it as she attempted to smile but look like a horrible one from every nation's point of view.

Vietnam and America walked back to the meeting room in silence, but America has a million to one question: what does Vietnam want to talk about. So instead, the two-nation are in the meeting staring at each other.

Vietnam's eyes held a worried in them while America blue's eyes carried annoyance and confusion in them.

Vietnam said," America, I know we don't have the best history." However, she tried to carefully choose her words as she doesn't want to trigger any memories of the nightmare war.

America spat," Get to the point!" He kept looking at his watch as he regains his scowl with an impatient tone.

Vietnam winces at the tone, making her wonder what happened to the cheerful and nice America she is starting to miss.

Vietnam said," I want to clear up the tension between us. I want to be friends with you." She looked at America.

She looked at America, who looked stunned, which morphed into anger, making tiny southeast feel small.

America," Let me guess you need something from me? I should have just booked it out of here."He looked so disgusted, making Vietnam flinch at his tone, and America didn't notice it as he gets more annoyed.

Vietnam cried," No! It's nothing like Alfred!" She tried to convince the Star-Spangled Country, but she was met with a glare from the normally jovial nation.

America said sarcastically," Sure it isn't. Like I haven't heard that before!" He spoke in a voice that oozing with sarcasm.

Vietnam never thought that America knows what sarcasm, since he lacks reading the atmosphere, but seeing it in front of her, is altogether different. Vietnam is starting to miss old America, who is looking back at it now was a nice person compared to this version in front of her.

Vietnam said," America, I know you have trouble believing me because I refused to accept your apologies in the past, but now I realized that you are genuine about the conflict." Then, she tried to get the normally jovial nation to calm down.

America asked," Now you just realize that?" He looked at Vietnam with an " Are you serious " look on his face.

Vietnam said," Well after you stopped trying to apologize to me, I had time to realized that you were sincere."She looked very guilty about realizing that America felt guilty about the war in her country.

America said," What made you want to be friends with the Capitlsit Imperliast Pig ?" He spat the name Red Team gave him.

Vietnam flinched at the insult she used against America one time, and she looked down in shame for the name she used as an insult towards America.

America said," Your silence spoke loudly. Later Vietnam!" He walks past the silent short nation with a disgusted expression.

America walks out of the meeting room where he see the nations looking at him with surprise, confusion, and concern which made America''s snort at the latter as these nations are just selfish creatures who only want to be your friends when they need something. Still, when you mess up, they are quick to turn their backs on you.

America thought," Ignored them. They don't care for you." America let a scowl grow on his face as he exited out of the meeting room.

Vietnam walked out of the meeting room with a downcast expression on her face making everyone look at her in concern along with the so-called Red Team. China approaches the short nation.

China asked," Vietnam, what happened aru?" He looked at Vietnam in concern in his brown eyes as he see the downcast expression on the southeast Asia nation's face.

Vietnam said," Oh, it nothing China. It's nothing at all." She tried to mask her disappointment to her brother.

Cuba asked," Chica, why were you talking to that Captialsit pig about?" He looked at Vietnam with a raised eyebrow.

Vietnam said," it nothing, Cuba, and I have to go." So she walks the tall South American nation.

Vietnam walks towards the door, ignoring the other nations' whispering and the stares as she thought about America's anger making her recoil in fear. Vietnam felt her heart race like a horse when she felt the anger from America.

Vietnam thought," Maybe America is having a terrible day, and he will be back to sunny, funny, and idiotic America again." She reassures herself about America having a bad day, but she felt a nagging feeling that it was not the case.

Vietnam realized maybe she was a bit too hard on America in the past, and she should accept his apology in the past, but her pride wouldn't allow her to accept it as every time she looks at America, she see the terrible war.

Vietnam said," I hope it just a bad day." But, then, she see her limo coming up on the streets, making her walk to the door of the limo where she opened it.

Vietnam enters the limo, and she takes a seat along with buckling her seatbelt. Then, the driver starts driving off, leaving Vietnam to think to herself.

Is she thinking the meeting her mind drifts to America' along with that those sparkling blue eyes… wait what Vietnam is shaking her head as she replayed the thought about America's eyes making her wonder where did that thought come from.

Vietnam thought," Why am I thinking about America's eyes just now.?" She wonders to herself why she is thinking about America's eyes.

Vietnam sits in silence while trying to block out thoughts on America or any other nations for that matter, but she keeps having these stranges thoughts about the Star-Spangled nation.

Note: Here is the first chapter of the Hurt and Heal where Vietnam tried to be America's friend, but America is acting out of character. If you got any ideas for this story, then please pm me. What can Vietnam do to show that she is serious about wanting to be America's friend?
