Chapter 4: Invasion

Fuyuki Church

Emiya Shirou is standing face to face with Kotomine Kirei. He doesn't like the man, he doesn't know why, but he has questions for him. Having spent yesterday awkwardly explaining to Fuji-Nee and Sakura who Saber is, lying that he's a former aquiantance of Kiritsugu. After a very strange, if somewhat erotic dream involving Tohsaka, something that's been bothering him entered his mind about once again. The young girl who is the Master of Berserker. Einzbern, a name that had heard from Sakura's grandfather. She must be connected to him somehow, since he seems to be her target.

He asked Saber if she knows the name, and to his great surprise, not only does she do, but when he voiced dislike of the priest, Saber revealed that she knows him as well, since she fought in the 4th Holy Grail War, and Kiritsugu was her former Master.

With more questions in mind, Shirou finds himself going to the church, wanting to get answers.

Kotomine listened to his questions, and he revealed to him what he knows.

"10 years ago, I fought as a Master in the Holy Grail War. There I fought against someone hired by the Einzberns. A man who cannot be called a Mage. His name is Emiya Kiritsugu."

"He was a ruthless and pragmatic assassin, who uses any methods to achieved his goals. We fought, and in the end, he became the victor of the Holy Grail War."

"However, for reasons that I do not know, he rejected the Grail and destroyed it, ending the war and betraying the Einzberns."

Shirou takes in all this information. If he were to be honest, he's not fazed with the revelation that Kiritsugu wasn't the ideal hero that he thought he was. He supposed that's because he already told him that he failed to achieve his dream. Maybe this is what he meant.

The Priest also explained to him what the Einzberns' deal was. They, along with the Tohsakas and the Makiris, created the Holy Grail War system. The Einzberns used whatever means necessary to win the War. Perhaps this is why they hired someone like Kiritsugu.

However, Kiritsugu betrayed them by destroying the Grail, and Shirou understood why Ilyasveil hated him. The Einzberns want revenge, and since Kiritsugu is dead, he's now become the target of their wrath.

Shirou knows enough for now, and he was about to leave the church when Kotomine stopped him.

He saw on the Priest's hand a broken bullet. Seeing Shirou's confused expression, Kotomine spoke.

"This bullet was one of the many items used by your father in the 4th Holy Grail War. This is a special bullet that, when used on a Magus, can severely damage their Magic Circuits. He once attempted to use it on me, but I did not suffer the effects due to special circumstances." The priest handed Shirou the bullet. "I believe this belongs to you now. Let it be a reminder of where your current path will lead you."

Shirou took the bullet. He simply nodded and walked away. The priest was right in a way. The bullet, for him is a symbol of what Kiritsugu failed to achieve. A reminder for Shirou if he were to find himself going down a similar path. He swears that he won't let Kiritsugu down. He will finish what he started.

He will become a Hero of Justice. He'll make sure of it. He'll make sure that no one around him will ever cry.

Einzbern Castle in Fuyuki

In the forest of Fuyuki, there is a castle. It's been there for a long time that no one has bothered questioning it. The castle was built for the Einzberns, as a place for the Einzbern Master to stay in as the Holy Grail War commences, even acting as a shelter if they were to lose. The current host of the castle is Ilyasveil von Einzbern, Master of Berserker of the 5th Holy Grail War. Along with her Servant, she is accompanied by two Homunculi maids, Sella and Lesyritt, tasked to take care of her and cater to her every needs.

The forest is filled with dozens of traps that makes entering the vicinity difficult for other Mages. Of course, no one in their right mind will try to raid the castle knowing that the enemy is Berserker. If they're not aware of that fact, sucks for them. They'll probably won't make it out of the castle alive.

A magic portal appeared above the castle. Falling out of it are Okita and Wizard, in his Flame Dragon Style. They used the Connect Ring to enter the area without tripping any sort of traps.

The Wizard, Servant, and Caster's Familiars landed to the castle grounds. There they spotted what seemed to be two maids, one with a giant spear at hand.

"Homunculi," said Caster through their link. "Let my Dragon Tooth Warriors handle them. You two focus on the task at hand." Wizard and Okita nodded.

The maids have not seen them yet until now, but they can tell who they are based on their lady's descriptions of Berserker's recent battle. They've heard of how the one in red managed to take out one of Berserker's lives. He is not to be underestimated.

"You are an enemy of our lady. If you are here to challenge her, then you'll have to go through us first," said one of the maids.

"Sorry, but you're not our priority," Answered Okita. The Dragon Tooth Warriors charged towards them. As the one with the spear fends them off. Okita sensed someone coming.

Smashing the walls of the castle is Berserker himself, with his Master in tow. He recognized the Ring Wizard. Even in his maddened state, he recognized him as a dangerous opponent, who he only defeated due to the element of surprise. He immediately charged against him. He already gained an immunity against the dragon breath that he used in their last battle.

Wizard simply stood there, scanning a ring. His belt announced, "BIND, PLEASE!" And six metal chains appeared to restrain the Berserker.

While the chains are strong, Berserker only needed to use little of his strength in order to break them. However, by the time that he did, Assassin, whom Berserker had forgotten had already charged her attack and went straight towards him.

"MUMYOU, SANDANDZUKI!"

It was in fact, not a Noble Phantasm. It was simply a sword technique that Okita used in her lifetime that allows her to strike simultaneously three times, similar to the famed Sasaki Kojiro's Tsubame Gaeshi. However, thanks to Caster's superior reinforcement skills, she was able to strengthen the technique and transform it into something among the lines of an A-Rank Noble Phantasm

Berserker tried to defend himself with his axe, but Wizard had already scanned the Bind Ring again, focusing all the chains towards Berserker's hand. Assassin managed to hit Berserker before he can break them again.

Assassin's attack worked. She was able to fatally wound him. With joy she exclaimed, "Okita-San Daishouri!" Before coughing up blood

Ilyasveil wasn't fazed. That attack won't work again. There's no way they have anything else that can harm Berserker.

Berserker started regenerating. What Ilyasveil didn't know is that Wizard's red forms aren't his only forms. He scanned the connect ring, the magic portal manifesting above Berserker's head.

Coming out of the Portal is a dragon shaped lighting that electrocuted Berserker multiple times. Almost Immediately, a Green Wizard followed, slashing Berserker with his wings.

As Wizard Hurricane Dragon went ahead to fight the maid once she finished all the Dragon Tooth Warriors, another portal appeared in front of Berserker with a Blue Wizard coming out. He was about to slash him with his tail, but there was a miscalculation. Ilyasveil used her command seals to speed up the regeneration process. The newly healed Berserker grabbed Wizard's tail and smashed him to the ground.

Another Wizard appeared however. This time a yellow one. He scanned a ring, his belt announcing, "VERY NICE! GRAVITY, SAIKOU!" A yellow circle appeared above Berserker, which carried him off the ground.

As Wizard Land Dragon controlled the gravity, incapacitating Berserker, Water Dragon quickly used the Blizzard Ring on him continuously. As he does so, Land Dragon took the opportunity to initiate Dragon Claw, slashing Berserker. Water Dragon quickly follow suite, slashing Berserker with his tail.

Before Ilyasveil can do anything, she realized that Assassin already has her sword on her throat. She can only watch in horror as a mere human (even if there's four of them) defeat Berserker like he was nothing.

With the four Wizards together now, Hurricane Dragon managing to take out the two maids, they all used the Bind Ring so that Berserker has little chance of breaking them. Then, they all take out their swords, and side by side, they performed their respective final attack.

"SLASH STRIKE!"

With Berserker's body once again unresponsive, Wizard Flame Dragon scanned the Drago Timer that was on his left hand.

"ALL DRAGON, PLEASE!"

The four Wizards merged into one, leaving the red one who had gained the other's dragon parts. He focused his magical energy, four magic circles appeared on the ground, each with the color of his 4 styles. Wizard elevated himself alongside the circles, and four dragons came out of them, each hitting Berserker's body in quick succession, Wizard himself following suit, delivering a massive kick that is able to cause quite the large explosion.

Wizard landed, back in regular Flame Dragon. One more, Haruto thought. By this point, Infinity Style should be enough to finish Berserker off. "The finale," he said as he puts on one final ring, and scans it with the belt.

"ERROR!"

And Haruto detransformed, falling to the ground unconscious.

"H-Haruto-Kun?!" exclaimed Okita. What happened? He was going to unleash his ultimate form. How did he fall unconscious?

"Master? Haruto, wake up!" Caster cried as well. Damn it! She forgot to consider this. He just spammed all of his abilities. That feat would've required a lot of Magical Energy. But she thought that since he was using a Mystic Code, it won't be as costly as it should be.

Ilyasveil was confused for a moment before she realized what happened and giggled. "Looks like you ran out of mana." Her expression became serious. "Berserker, finish him."

Berserker complied, running towards the fallen Master. As Okita prepared to chase after him, wondering how she could possibly finish this now that Berserker is immune to her Mumyou Sandandzuki, she noticed a bright light coming out of the sky. She wasn't the only one to see this. Ilyasveil saw it as well.

"Master, is this your doing," she asked. Though she can't see it, Caster shook her head. "No, I think its…" Okita heard her Master gasp.

The light got closer, and Okita felt a great surge of prana. That's when she realized, that's a Servant. A Servant activating their Noble Phantasm.

Okita realized that it was headed towards Berserker. Berserker however, is focused solely on Haruto.

"Berserker? No! Stop!" Ilyasveil tried to warn him, but it was too late. As the light approaches, Ilyasveil heard one thing. Words that will be the last that her Servant will hear.

"BELLEROPHON!"

As the 3rd day of the Holy Grail War commences, Berserker has disappeared, and Ilyasveil von Einzbern is out of the war.

Ryuudouji Temple

When Haruto woke up, he found himself in Caster's room, with the Servant watching over him alongside Okita. As he scanned the room however, he realized there's two other people. The little kid who is Berserker's Master, and more bizarrely, the pink-haired Servant who he thought had died two nights ago.

"Haruto, you're awake," said Caster in relief.

"W-What happened," Haruto asked, as he starts remembering the day. "Did we do it? Did we take down Berserker?" As he said all this, he felt his body aching and he groaned in pain.

"Don't tire yourself Master. You overexerted your body today. Had we not healed you, you wouldn't wake up until tomorrow."

Haruto nodded, and he asked one more thing. "What are they doing here?" He pointed to the two people who are supposedly their enemies.

Caster's expression went from concerned to stern as she turned to her Servant. "Yes Okita. What are they doing here?"

Okita looked down, her expression darkened as she realizes how lucky she is that they have guests, or else she might face Caster's full wrath. "I-I couldn't just leave her there. She's just a little kid, and once word gets out that Berserker is gone, surely they'll go after her."

Ilyasveil thought two notable things. For one, Sella and Lesyritt can protect her just fine, though they're busy tending to the castle right now. And two, she's not a kid. She's 18 years old, but she'll let her believe otherwise for now.

Caster sighed. "I suppose I can understand that. But why," she pointed to the other Servant, "did you bring her here as well, though."

"I needed someone to help me lift Haruto-Kun back home."

"You're a Servant. You could've done that by yourself. If not, then why didn't you ask help from any of your Shinsengumi allies?" she questioned.

As Okita tried to think of a counterargument, she realized that her Master was right. "I-I never thought about it," she admitted sheepishly.

Caster frowned, but she'll have to excuse her actions for now. She will get punished for this though. She turned to the other pink-haired Servant. "With what you've demonstrated today, I believe you are the Rider Servant. Based on the fact that you rode Pegasus, along with the fact that your Noble Phantasm is Bellerophon, and what seems like a familiarity to Heracles to know his Noble Phantasm, is it reasonable to believe that you are the Greek Hero Perseus?"

The Servant answered, "no, I'm not Perseus. Please don't make that mistake ever again." Her face was stoic, but Caster can feel the killing intent that she's trying to suppress.

Caster nodded in understanding. "So you're Medusa then." There's only one other person she could think of with a connection to the Pegasus, and will have a reasonable disdain towards Perseus. "I'm sorry for— Haruto?"

For a moment, Haruto's face conveyed an expression of shock, fear, and anger at the mention of the name Medusa. It brought back a lot of memories, not all of them good. The Phantom Medusa was one of his greatest enemies. If a version of her is here again…

No. This is the real Medusa. Not the Phantom. Unlike that Medusa who is pure evil, this one is an unfortunate victim of the Greek Gods, based on what he learned of Greek Mythology. He read them as a child, wanting to learn of Heroes that gave hope to humanity.

"You look troubled, Haruto-Kun," Okita was the first to point out.

Haruto shakes his head. "S-Sorry. It's just, I had an enemy that called herself Medusa once. I don't like remembering that chapter of my life."

"Either way, I'm sure you still want to kill me," said Rider. "I'm an enemy after all."

"I have another idea," Caster said, causing her Master and Servant to look at her in confusion. She continued, looking directly at the Rider Servant. "I believe you can be useful, especially once your connection to your current Master is lost. You can become our temporary ally for the time being. Someone who can watch out for other enemies."

"What? You want the kid to take her as a Servant?" questioned Okita.

"I won't do that," the former Master said. "Ilyasveil von Einzbern is the Master of Berserker. I wouldn't take any other Servant." She glared at Rider. "Especially not the one that killed him."

Caster nodded. "I didn't expect that you would. Then I should take her as my own."

"Eh? C-Chotto matte Master!" exclaimed Okita. "You already have one Servant. Surely you don't need more?"

Caster looked at her in confusion. "It's a way for us to get stronger. Don't you think of it as a benefit?"

"I… yes. I supposed this would help us." Said Okita, her cheeks turning red. She had to wonder, why was she acting like this? Caster was right, this is a great advantage for them. Why does she feel threatened?

"I'm still surprised," admitted Ilyasveil. "To think that a Servant can summon another Servant, and you're saying you can take one more?"

Caster nodded. "Thanks to my current Master and my connection to the temple, I can take all the Servants if I want to." She turned to Rider. "Are you fine with this agreement?"

Rider thinks on that. "My Master. I mean, my real Master, not the boy that you saw last time, she doesn't want to join the War. My only wish is to protect her. If you can break our contract, then that's one burden off from her. As long as I can still watch over her, then I'll be willing to join you. But how do you plan on breaking our bond?"

Caster smirked, and she summoned what looks to be a dagger. "I will use this. My Noble Phantasm, Rule Breaker. It can sever any magical contracts. Your Master won't have to suffer any longer."

Rider look somewhat greatful for this. Caster stood up, and it stunned everyone how tall Rider is compared to the rest of the women in the room.

"What about me?" questioned Ilyasveil. "What do you have to gain by keeping me around?"

Caster looked at her Master and Servant before answering. "Even if I want to off you, my allies would stop me from doing so for personal reasons. And besides, I can sense that Heracles cared for you." Ilyasveil looked surprised at the implications that she knew her Servant in life. Caster noticed this. "We weren't particularly close, but he was still a great hero. I would like to honor him by protecting you."

Haruto and Okita looked surprised as well. Caster never really talked about her life. All they knew that is that she was Greek. Perhaps this means something to her.

The two of them ignored these thoughts for now, as they watch Caster use her Noble Phantasm on Rider, and in the process, gain a new ally.

Matou Household

Matou Zouken is a patient man. This is in no small part thanks to his immortality. He had lived for over a century, and is even one of the three people who created the Grail War System.

After Kariya's unsurprising failure in the last War, he planned to wait for sixty years, when the next Grail War was supposed to begin anew. It was a surprise when the War began 10 years early. Still, he had no plan to join. He wasn't ready and so was his "granddaughter." Only in the insistence of his foolish Grandson did he let him join, and to no one's surprise, he was defeated by the first day.

However, something changed about Sakura. Ever since he met the Emiya boy, the Grail fragments that he implanted upon the girl began acting up. This is an interesting development. Could it be that the Grail of Matou is also ready?

Would he finally get his wish? Will he finally achieve true immortality?

Now, all seven Servants have been summoned, or so it seemed. He had been watching the War through his worm familiars, and he could tell that the Assassin is a false Servant. Yes, she is a heroic spirit, but her summoning is unconventional. So while the seventh container has been filled, there is yet to be a true seventh Servant. That's where Zouken comes in.

He knew how the Einzberns cheated the system back in the 3rd War, summoning an Avenger rather than a Berserker. That act of theirs had made the Servant somewhat of an extra class for the War. And since the Assassin container is already filled by a false Servant, then it stands to reason that the true Servant will have to use the Avenger container instead.

Now, he is in his basement, where he had set up his summoning circle to use. He chanted the incantation, albeit with modifications. Once the summoning is complete, another person appeared within the room.

She is a pale woman in black armor, with white-blond hair and yellow eyes. He could sense within her a blackened heart full of rage and resentment. And yet she managed to wear a smug smile on her face.

"Servant Avenger, summoned at your request. Looks like you're my Master."

A/N: Sorry this took a while since I need to watch UBW and Heavan's Feel again to give me an idea of how I should direct the story, and I also have other things that I need to do

Damn. I had to write three fight scenes in a row. I gotta be honest, they are not my greatest strength. Partly also a reason why this took so long

About Berserker. I'm sorry. Please forgive me. Here's Rider if that's any compensation

Yes. I know the whole Dragon Formation thing doesn't work the way I did it. It was planned that they were all set beforehand

Just to be clear, Berserker wasn't killed by any of the Dragon attacks besides Dragon Lightning. All of those are just to wear him down. What really took all of his lives are the Slash Strikes (took out three), Strike Dragon (three), Okita's NP, and Bellerophon (three) (admittedly, that originally wasn't the case. But then I realize how stupid it would be if Berserker was defeated by just the Dragon slashes)

I hope you enjoy this. Please review and tell me what are your thoughts
