Chapter Two

To Dream or Not

Anna looked around at her surroundings. The sky was brightly lit causing her to squint her eyes. She was what looked like a desert but couldn't see much as large pyramids blocked her in on all sides.

"Hello?" She called out, positive there wouldn't be a response. "Is there anyone out here?"

"Hello, Anna." Anna gasped at the deep voice emanating from around her, darting her eyes around to try and find the owner of the voice. "We've been waiting for you for a long, long time."

"Who are you?"

Out from behind a pyramid steps a gigantic robotic figure that moved too fluidly to just be a robot. The being's eyes were a bright purple and she was getting a male vibe.

"My name is Primus, the Creator of Cybertron, a planet many lightyears away from your's."

He came to a stop a few feet away from her but she hardly noticed as her green eyes remained locked on his purple.

"This can't be real. I'm asleep."

"You may be asleep, but I can assure you this is very real."

"Say it is, what do you want from me?"

"I am here to tell you what is about to befall the human race as two factions of the Cybertronians race to get the Allspark in order to take over the universe."

"Allspark? Factions? What?"

"I created beings in my image, the Cybertronians, many many many years ago, in fact they were created before what you call dinosaurs were even a thought in your God's mind. War has broken out, however, ones that want to protect life and preserve peace - the Autobots - led by the last of the Primes, and ones that wish nothing but destruction and death - the Decepticons led by one that was led astray. The Allspark was what granted new technology life and that's what the Decepticons want to use it for and they would be unstoppable with it in their grasp. The Allspark is a cube and after it had been lost for ages, it crashed here on Earth during the Ice Age along with Megatron close behind. Both were discovered by a man named Witwicky and were taken by the government for testing. Even now both are in human hands but the Decepticons and Autobots are coming and are about to bring a new level of war and destruction onto the human race."

Anna decided to put her emotions to the side and just think logically because if what this being was saying was true, then Earth was about to get some visitors of the UFO kind. "So what do you want me to do? Warn the world? I'd be labeled as crazy and locked up, the key thrown away!"

"No, it is already too late and the human race does not have the technological capacity to face Cybertronians." Primus reached up and lifted a necklace from around his head, the pendant that had been shaped into a diamond transforming into a small circle with two symbols on it that Anna couldn't identify. By the time the necklace came into Anna's hands, it was her size.

"What's this for?"

"This is called the Key. The Key has the ability to sense when a Cybertronian is near but vibrating against your skin, the more intense the vibration, the more danger you will be in. If it starts to grow warm, that means the Allspark is near and it will continue growing warmer the closer you get. I sense that you will be waking soon. I guess I should tell you what I want from you,"

It was quite a struggle for Anna to not sarcastically respond to the large being. "You won't know what I truly want from you until you make contact with the Allspark. Once you do, I will contact you once again. Until we meet again, Marian Stark."

A bright light flashed through Anna's vision before everything went dark.

Anna jerked away with a small gasp.

"Whoa!" The captain of Anna's squad exclaimed, barely catching her before she fell off of her seat. "Must've been some dream, Doc!"

She smiled softly at him reaching up to rub her neck when she froze, feeling a chain around her neck. Her hands shook as she pulled the necklace out from under her gear and saw that it was the necklace from the dream.

"Hey, what's that?" Robert Epps, the lieutenant of the squad asked curiously. They had been on the same team for years and after living in such close proximity to each other, they knew what each person had and didn't have when going out on a mission.

"I-It came to me in a dream." She said softly, her eyes still locked on the pendant before she shook her self and tucked the necklace back in under her clothes. "What were you guys talking about before I was rudely awakened?"

She shot a teasing smile towards the rest of the team of ten that had went through basic with her and had shed blood, sweat, and tears together for almost ten years now.

"As I was saying, five months of this!" Fig waved around an MRE as they bumped against each other as the helicopter went through some type of turbulence as they traveled back to base. "I can't wait to get a little taste of home. A plate of mama's alligators etoufee."

All of them looked at him, basically thinking the same thing.

Only one vocalized it though. "You've been talking about barbecued 'gators and crickets for the last two weeks. I'm never going to your mama's house, Fig. I promise."

"Amen." Anna muttered, causing Will Lennox - her captain - to elbow her in the side as he fought his smile. "Oh, oops. Did I say that out loud?"

"But Bobby, Bobby, the 'gators are known to have the most succulent meat." Fig argued back, not even hearing Anna's comments.

"I understand that," Epps said trying to end the conversation but Fig was caught up in the conversation now and there would be now stopping him until they got to base.

Fig began to speak in rapid Spanish as he got excited.

"English, please, English." Epps muttered.

"I mean, how many times have we… we don't speak Spanish. I told you that." Lennox said gently trying to keep the peace.

"Doc does!" Fig pointed out causing Anna to roll her eyes at being singled out. You would've thought that the men would be used to her intellect by now and they were for the most part. It was times like this when it is pointed out, even something small like knowing another language brought it all to the forefront of their minds that Anna was simply not normal. They loved her still though.

Lennox simply rolled his eyes as she simply grinned. "Yeah, well, Fig, none of us are actually a genesis except for her. None of us have four doctor degrees and two masters nor have an IQ of 192 with an eidetic memory. Also none of us know five different languages either so can't really compare us with her when she is clearly the more superior one."

Anna couldn't help but pipe up. "I'm actually working on getting two more degrees - PhDs specifically - in the next year or so and learning my eighth language. Not to brag or anything," she said with a light laugh as Lennox lightly shoved her.

"See? Point proven!"

"What degrees are you going for?" Donnelly the other nerd on the team asked.

"Criminal Profiling and Language. Figured might as well."

"See? Genius." Epps said causing the team to laugh loudly.

They went silent for a hot minute.

"Hey, you guys remember weekends? Huh? The Sox at Fenway. Cold hotdog and flat beer," Donnelly said dreamily. Fig smiled.

"Perfect day," Fig turned his head towards Lennox suddenly curious. "What about you, Cap? And you Doc?"

Lennox smiled softly. "I just can't wait to hold my baby girl for the first time." The guys immediately started to tease him.

"He's adorable." One of the others said through their laugh.

"Oh, shut up." Lennox said still smiling. "Doc?"

Anna shrugged. "I guess I've never had a perfect day to long for… too busy patching up y'all to get a day off, let alone leave back home."

The guys laughed knowing that she was trying to hide how she doesn't have that many happy memories before she joined the army and so none ever pried.

She was the little sister of the team and loved by them all. So none of them ever wanted to see her as the emotionless, cold being they had first met at basic. They much prefer the warm, joking Doc.

Anna simply smiled, her eyes shining with her mirth but her mind racing.

If what she had dreamed was indeed true… trouble was on its way and she didn't know how to stop it.
