Cryer's POV

The Ogres had decided to join under Rimuru which meant as usual meant the slime would be giving them names, and as usual they passed out for days after that, it was strange though this time they rattled the names off like a madman before instantly going into a mode of hibernation.

"Oh, so you're finally awake." I went into the main hut where Rimuru was sleeping.

They were flanked by the various Ogres that they'd recently named. Shion, the purple one, Benimaru, the red Ogre Prince, Hakurou, the elderly Ogre, Kurobe, the largest of the bunch, Souei, that thin stealthy ninja, and lastly was Shuna, the Ogre Princess. They all looked far more human like as Kijin, though they were all far smaller.

"Ah Cryer you're here too." Rimuru said.

"I have a tendency to show up at the right time." I smirked "I see you've met our new friends, you passed out so long you missed all the fun, don't worry the two lovely ladies have been taking nice care of you, I could barely even get close."

"Lord Rimuru needed a gentle hand after all." Shion said giving me a look.

"Don't be rude Cryer is just being kind." Shuna smiled at me.

Shuna seemed kind, Shion was much more possessive of Rimuru, she didn't seem to like anyone around them but her.

"She's grew so attached in just a few days?"

I understood why people would flock to and respect Rimuru, they were strong and provided a sense of protection and community, I just found it strange how people were so easily swayed to worship at the altar of the slime so to speak.

We all hung around and chatted for a bit before things relaxed for a while.

"Hey Cryer hold up a second." Rimuru bounced after me.

"Yes, how can I help you?" I asked.

"I was thinking, you're always reading, maybe we should build a library." They suggested.

"Really, I would like that, so often it's hard to get a real collection when you travel like I do, after all it's not practical to carry around hundreds of tomes and novels." I laughed "If you build it, I'd be more than happy to stock and manage such a place."

"Awesome I had a feeling you'd say yes." They cheered "But there is another thing."

"Hmm?"

"Magic, you're the best user of it here probably, but the others have magical skills to." They explained "Do you think it's something we need to be training people on, like a magic class."

"I don't personally have a desire to be a teacher." I laughed "I think training is important for anyone, practicing their skills like you have the goblins doing with Hakurou will be fine, I'm not sure I'm the one to practice with though."

"Right." Rimuru nodded changing into their human form "You heard about the Orc Lord though, right?"

"Yes it's a rare existence that's for sure." I told them "If it really was an orc lord that attacked the ogre village than we will be dealing with an army that marches endlessly with no fear, they don't stop to mourn fallen comrades they simply march on to destroy whatever steps into their path…if I may be frank, they will reach this place eventually unless stop, rolling on forever like a stone sliding down a hill."

"I was worried you'd say that." They sighed.

"Fear not, these things usually work out." I walked off with a wave.

"I hope you're right." Rimuru went off in the other direction.

I spent some time simply walking around the small village which seemed to be more like a town these days, with homes and meeting places, it was nice to see it developing so well.

"Hello Cryer." Shuna smiled bowing a bit.

"You're the Princess here Shuna, should you really be bowing to me?" I joked.

"While that's true I can't help but be courteous." She said.

"Cute, Polite and Strong, you're almost the perfect woman." I told her.

"Please don't say such things." She waved her hands a bit "I'm not perfect, your magic is much stronger than mine, and Shion is far prettier."

"I guess it depends on who you ask." I shrugged "In my humble opinion you're the best, we can hold a poll I suppose."

"Please don't!" she blushed.

"I'm only teasing." I told her "Sorry if I made you uncomfortable."

"It's nothing like that." She laughed a bit "All these compliments from everyone, sometimes it's a bit embarrassing."

"Don't worry everyone here is kind and means well, any compliments they pay you are things they think are true." I explained "I hope we can get along well together."

"Yes, me too." She smiled.
