James Miller
Heat licked at my face as I felt Dazu bolt up. "James! There's a fire, we have to go!" she said as she threw me my rifle. I opened the window to find some of the magic knights of the Blue Rose Knights fighting off some bandits. They had outnumbered the magic knights fifteen to one. They were defending the church where presumably the rest of the people of the village were holed up. Almost every building was lit ablaze, including the inn we were currently in. Dazu was ready to go however, I was watching the magic knights continue their fighting.
"Corpse-Hunting Briar Tree!" I heard their captain shout as a field of thorny vines emerged from her bladeless sword, taking out a quarter of the bandit forces. Another summoned three large walls, bottlenecking the ground forces and funneling them into a sea of fire and electricity.
"It looks like they've got it, now lets go," I said as we ran out the door. However, we found our path of egress was blocked by growing flames. I grabbed a glass of water that was on the nightstand and threw it onto the flames. I then pushed Dazu through the gap before it was in flames once more. "Get to the church, Dazu! I'll meet you there!"
"Got it! James," she said hesitantly.
"Yea?"
"Don't get hurt, ok?"
"Will do! Now go!" Dazu nodded as she ran down the hall and to the stairs.
"Alright its time," I thought as I tied the few bedsheets available to me into a long rope. I tied one end to the bedpost and threw the other out of the window. Luckily I only had a three story descent, the bedsheets giving me two and a half stories of length. I slowly climbed down, avoiding a few stray spells hitting the wall of the inn. I hit the floor with no problem, sneaking around the burning buildings. I joined up with the Magic Knights. I was given a few odd looks by them as I was approached by their captain.
"We meet again, young man," The Captain said as shot me a glare. "What are you doing here?"
"I'm here to help," I replied. I didn't know why at the time but I felt numb, like a walking corpse.
"Go to the church with Sol and make sure that people there are safe, tend to their wounds. This is her village so she knows the people."
"Come on sis, do I have to do this?" Sol whined.
"That's an order, Sol." The female captain shot her subordinate with a deadly glare.
"Okay, come with me," she said with a labored groan. "So tell me, what're you doing here? I saw you and that woman yesterday in that wagon. That, and you wear the symbol of the Black Bulls on that coat of yours. Who are you?" she asked, turning around to face me as we reached the church.
"My name is James Miller, other than that, I'm trying to be more powerful…"
"Why?"
"Because I'm weak," I said as Sol nodded.
"Well at least you're trying to improve, well lets go-" suddenly a large explosion hit the roof of the church, blowing a huge hole in it, dozens of bandits swarmed in. Sol ran into the church and I followed close behind.
"Ouroborus, get ready to fight," I thought.
"Are you saying I'm going to have some fun?" he replied.
"Yes, do you think you can kill all the bandits without harming any of the civilians," I thought.
"Yes," he replied.
"Good. Be discreet," I ordered. "Ouroboros!" I called. I felt something dripping down my back and through my pant-leg to the floor. A small black puddle formed, more forming under each of the bandits. Then, a large black serpent, with the width of a school bus emerged from the first puddle, swallowing the bandit whole. He then jumped to the next puddle, swallowing the next bandit. He repeated the process over and over again until all the bandits in the church were disposed of. He returned to my body as
"How was that, boss?"
"It was alright, but we'll have to work on your reaction time, you could've been more speedy with the attacks."
"Got it."
I walked through the church, searching for Dazu. "Come on, where are you, Dazu?" I thought as I continued to look around the church. I heard a pained groan and what sounded like punching behind a door.
I opened it to find Dazu being raped and brutalized by what I assumed to be a bandit. I felt rage well up with in me, then everything went black. All I remember was throwing the man into the far wall, and the next thing I knew he was dead and my fists where throbbing in pain. They were soaked in blood and bone fragments, heavy breaths leaving my lungs. I felt Dazu hold me tight as she began to cry. It wasn't restrained like a man at his mother's funeral, I was free and uncaring, like a baby who got hurt. I held her to me as the two of us walked out of the church. I gave her my overcoat as we set off to the capital city in our wagon, however before we left, I was approached by the captain of the Blue Rose Knights.
"Are you a member of the Black Bulls?" she asked.
"Not officially. I was given these clothes as a gift and I failed an attempt to join them, which is where I got this," I said as I showed my chest scar.
"I see, well best of luck on your travels, mr…"
"Miller, James Miller," I replied. "By the way, have these bandits ever attacked like this before?"
"What do you mean, Mr. Miller?"
"Have they ever attack in such numbers with this sort of strategy?"
"No they haven't…"
"I see, well best of luck to you and your squad," I said as Dazu took my arm with a tight squeeze.
"Can we go?" She whispered. I nodded, giving a wave to the captain as I whipped the rains of the wagon. The wagon moved through the woods as Dazu continued to hold onto my arm.
It must've been a few hours before I looked back at my companion, her now resting form still laying against my numbed arm. I began to tear up a little as held her close to me. "I'm so sorry, Dazu," I whispered. "I still wasn't strong enough to protect you. I should've never taken you out of my sight. I'll always be there for you, that much I can promise," I said. I kept the carriage going through the rest of the day, the two of us arrived at a large village with its own church, town center, and some newly erected walls surrounding the village. Some guards approached our wagon, each with their grimoires opened and ready to cast a spell.
"State your business, traveler!" One of the guards demanded.
"Just passing through, my companion and I am are tired and don't want to be sleeping in the wilds at night. We'll stay for the day and leave tomorrow afternoon if you like."
The two guards whispered to each other before giving their answer. "You may
pass through, but you'll be thrown out if you cause any disturbances," they said.
I nodded and drew the carriage through the gate. I parked it outside a pub which sat under an inn. I gently awoke Dazu and led her into the inn. "Lets get something to eat," I said as I held the door open for her.
"Yea, that would be nice," she said in a depressed tone.
We sat down and were served by a beautiful young woman with long red hair and freckles on her cheeks. I ordered hot soup for the two of us and got us a room. The way she sipped at her soup screamed of a lifeless existence, sapped of any enjoyment. She turned to me almost in tears. "Do I deserve to live?" She asked.
"Of course you do-"
"I killed people, James. I ended the lives of people. I think what happened to me in that church was my penance," she snuggled.
"Don't say that Dazu. What happened to you there, I should've left with you, it was my fault," I said. "Shit I can't have her mental state worsening, But I don't know how to help. Looks like I'll just have to stand by her," I thought.
"Can we go up to our room? I'm not hungry anymore," Dazu said with a sad smile on her face. "James, thanks… for everything. If you want, you can… enjoy me, in bed," she whispered to me.
"Ok, but in the morning, I'm too tired right now to fuck," I replied. "Why aren't I excited?! Its been at least four months since I've last had sex. Well I should probably get some sleep, cuddle up with Dazu and just… sleep." I thought as I led her upstairs went to bed. I drifted off to sleep, but a few hours later when the sun had set, I felt something soft and round pressing up against my shirtless chest. I felt a hot breath against my cheek. I opened my eyes to see Dazu in the nude, her skin was a beautiful pale tone as it shined in the moonlight, her deep eyes stared back at me. Her hands searched for mine and intertwined her fingers with mine. Her lips pressed up against mine, my mouth opened and my tongue entered hers. Her tongue submitted to mine as she moved one of her hands down to my pants.
"May I?" She asked pulling back from our kiss, a trail of saliva linking our tongues.
I sighed as I moved my hands to her hips which were gently swaying left to right. "Go ahead." I helped her to remove my pants and slowly guided her down onto me.
It felt amazing, she was warm and tight, her soft moans making me more erect. "You're my hero, James," she said in between moans and pants.
"Really?" I asked as she began to move fast, gyrating her hips a bit.
"Yes. You saved me twice. You've been there for me when I'd though my life would be over. My husband didn't love me, he only used me for physical labor. You've been nothing but kind to me."
"Yea…" I didn't know where she was going with this.
"Please give me children," she asked in a soft tone. I nodded silently and pulled her town tightly down onto me, my member reaching her womb. I shot my entire load into her. she slumped down on me and locked her legs around me. I gently kissed her lips as she returned the gesture, her hands tightly holding onto my hair. "Thank you," she whispered, pulling the blanket over the two of us. I slowly rubbed her back as we both fell asleep. I noticed that her hair was now reaching down past her shoulder blades. "Please protect me," Dazu asked with a venerable whisper.
"Of course."

"Damnit! It's a dead end!" I shouted, throwing a rock at the abandoned house again. "What do we do now?!"
"Well we could ask around to see what happened," Samantha suggested.
"Or we could ask those magic knights if they've seen him," Nevira said.
"You know… that's not a bad idea. Just as she said that, the entire squad of the Blue Rose Knights flew above them. The three witches took to their brooms and made the approach. they waved Captain Charlotte down, she approached them.
"What do you ladies need?" She asked.
This chapter was hard to write as I didn't want to rush Dazu's relationship with James. Right now it's not an official relationship, she's just using him as an anchor of sorts to keep her from going insane. I'm probs gonna have a chapter with her perspective next.
