"You both know the rules and the stakes. Now, as the Producer of Shibuya, I officially declare this Game...ON!"
They both started in the Scramble. They split as soon as Sanae announced the start of the Game. Reapers took off in seperate directions, each trying to outdo the rest in their attempts to get that first point. Noise were released, and the battle for survival began almost immediately.
'Survive the first Day' was the mission.
Neither Neku nor Apollo had any intention of failing, and each had their own way of dealing with the hoards that kept appearing. Neku simply avoided contact, only attacking if it became absolutely necessary. Apollo attacked relentlessly, thinning the mobs and making a big show of his powers as well. The two headed for 104, their spirits high and fires of fight bright as suns, their eyes ablaze with the will to win.
Neku was the first to reach 104, and instantly got surrounded by Noise. He grimaced and got his fire pin ready, choosing to run into a nearby alley to gather his strength and fighting any Noise that dare cross his path. Apollo watched him while destroying both the Noise and the Reaper controling them, and narrowed his eyes "You won't beat me playing so close to the belt like that, Neku Sakuraba." he taunted as he dashed past the Proxy, heading for another area to call his own until the day was over.
"Don't lecture me, asshole." the Proxy sneered. He leaped forward as a Noise clawed at him from behind. He glared at the offending Reaper, narrowing his eyes as the red sweatshirted being waved and summoned more Noise.
Apollo wasn't having anything easier the way he'd gone. In fact it was twice as bad, because he had three reapers on his tail instead of just one, and one of them happened to be a feisty pink-haired menace with a chip on her shoulder.
Neku couldn't help the small smirk that crawled across his face as he heard the screechy Reaper unleash her wrath on the Higher Bastard. He didn't have time to ponder or enjoy the moment though, because three Reapers decided it was open season on redheads and attacked him.
"Figures...no rest for the selfless. "
As he fought and dodged, the proxy couldn't help but hear the ever-nagging voice of his partner. It was haunting, unnatural...yet it felt so...normal. He swung left with flames You ok there, partner? He blocked with both arms and got thrown backwards, nearly getting off-balance as another hit came from the side Neku, do something! He grit his teeth and roared out jis frustration, pouring everything he had into a meteor attack to clear the room.
"Another world awaits" And you're going!
As the Noise and Reapers disappeared, the redhead ran off, heading for Cat Street. He then stopped heading to Cat Street because apparently there was a wall there, and no Wall Reaper to open it. The proxy sighed and turned back around, seeking shelter elsewhere.
But he couldn't outrun his memories.
Oh, we're running? You didn't seem the type.
"Shut up...just shut up!" hands went to the headphones, but he couldn't bring himself to truly tune out the ghost of memory that tugged at his consciousness. Where had that snarky bastard gone to? Was he even aware of much of anything anymore? He ran faster, the true stakes at the forefront of his mind.
He wished Cat street hadn't been blocked off, but knew that it was probably due to the fact that there were no hints on the first day. Either that...or Mister H. had relocated Josh to the blocked-off second floor of the cafe' and he didn't want any interference. Whatever the reason, the teen was really missing the interaction right about then.
He once agaiun didn't have much time to gather his thoughts, as a Reaper found him again. He sighed and readied his pins, before a familiar chuckle caught his ears. He looked closer and cocked his head in recognition.
"Triple 7?"
"Hey Spikey!" The Reaper with the blond hair and suave jacket greeted him warmly, wings lowering slightly. He didn't smile, but grinned almost sneakily, perching on a lamp post and cocking his head "I hoped it wouldn't be you, honestly."
Neku gripped his pin and looked up, eyes blazing "You don't want this, 777. Just go away, and you can continue making music. Just go the hell away!"
"Afraid I can't do that. See, I'm low on points, plus if I don't ice you right now, I'll be the one getting the shaft, you know? So...I'm real sorry, man. "
Neku got into a stance "Me too."
777 lifted his hand like it held a guitar pick, then slammed it down, unleashing at least ten Noise.
"Let's ROCK!"
Have fun, Neku.
