Apologies, apologies, seriously, I was looking through my drafts and found this and realized I never published it…oops. It's short I know, but I'm looking to get back into writing now that classes are slowing down, butttt spring conditioning has just started back up, sooo we'll see. Anyways enjoy :)
Another mission
I let out a sigh as I look out into the streets of Capital City. Yes they made me be the lookout. Again. Apparently there is too much Imperial Concatenation for a "kid like me".
Thank you Sabine, really needed to hear that.
Things were really awkward once Kanan and I reentered the ship. Every body was doing their morning routine, and as soon as I saw Sabine, I walked straight to my bunk, without a word.
Call me dramatic but I did not feel like talking about last nights events.
Well now here I am, on the top of a small building, looking for signs of imperials while the other plant bombs in the tie fighter storage area. Other than the occasional passerby, there doesn't seem to be anyone here on the streets.
Odd.
As I glance through the binoculars Hera lended me, I can't help but notice how cold the air around me has gotten.
The wind is even picking up. Hmmm.
Glancing to my left down a alleyway there's a light. A beam, clouded by the materials that are lifted off the ground and now whipping around it in a cyclone.
Whoa.
Jumping from the rooftop I land softly in the street below. Stepping closer toward the light, the wind soars, throwing me off balance and onto my back.
Owwww. Still sensitive.
Glancing up I look toward the light, which has now taken form into a lightsaber. I feel my eyes grow wide as the dark figure wielding the blade steps closer.
"So easy to fool." The man snickers, "Young Bridger is it?"
I look on, not saying a word.
Who is this guy?
"W-who, who are you?" I manage to stutter out.
The dark figure pauses for a moment, as if he's thinking of a right answer.
"You will learn in time." He replies in his deep almost metallic voice.
Definitely not the inquisitor.
"Come." He says reaching out a hand "Come and I will teach you to be strong with the Force."
Unable to speak, I manage to shake my head.
"Stubborn." The figure shakes his head slowly "If this is how it must be." Suddenly I feel a tired and heavy weight take over my body, and my vision starts to fade into dark, dark . . .
. . .
Groggily I open my eyes.
What?! Where am I?!
My eyes dart around the small room.
Durasteel.
Durasteel.
Durasteel.
And more Durasteel.
Four walls, one door, no windows. I look up and see what I'm looking for.
And one boy-sized vent.
I can't help but smirk.
Suddenly the small door directly across from swishes open.
Gushh . . . Shhhh . . .
Uh oh. What the hell is that?
Slowly a tall man in a full black armored suit makes his way to me.
What.
The.
Fu . . .
"Silence boy." He booms.
Huh? Did he just …
"Yes" he turns his head away "fool." I hear him mutter.
Sagging my head I look at my feet.
There's no getting out of this. No way. Not this time.
Glancing up, the "man" is staring back at me.
Creepy ass mask. Who does this guy think he is?
"You will learn in time boy." He says turning to the door "but for now . . ." He beckons to the door. "You will learn what happens if you fail."
I watch him out as a small probe droid takes his place.
Shit.
Gritting my teeth, I wait for what's to come.
. . .
Sabine POV
"We have to find him." Hera says strongly, then glanced back from her seat in the cockpit. "Right?"
She looked directly at Kanan.
Well it is his decision. I don't think we should, give him time he'll come up somewhere at some point.
Kanan lifts his hand up to his chin as if in thought.
"Where might he be though? Zeb I thought you reported no patrolling imperials in the system?" Turning toward the large purple beast.
"Wha…?" He stutters quickly "well I thought there weren't any, chopper and as being a pain in the shebs while I was checking the radar." He adds growling in choppers direction.
Diverting his eyes back to Kanan, he frowns slightly. "I guess I could've missed some, possibly."
Sigh. This crew is a mess I'll tell u that much.
"It's settled then." says Hera, grabbing everyone's attention. "We'll find him." She begins punching in buttons and flipping switch preparing for lift off.
"In time." adds Kanan
