I'm back with another chapter, also I will like to make an announcement and that's the fact I have decided on possibly not continuing the Pokemon fanfic on my profile I'm afraid. With how my writing has changed, I can't accommodate the type of writing like Pokemon. I mean I could probably change it again down the road if I wanted to, but as of right now until someone adopts the story, which hasn't happened as of yet, will be put on Hiatus until further notice. I will however be continuing The Fated Pair. I will be taking my time with it and with the chapters so the updates will be slow so bare with me.
Main pairing: Vanessa x Elijah
Vanessa blinked her green eyes opened in a slight flutter and sighed as she leaned up against the headboard of her bed. She turned over to the clock and noticed it was in fact 6 in the morning and groaned. She hated the fact she had to be up so early, but she had decided, against her better judgment to volunteer to get the Founders Day Parade set up with the high schoolers. Deciding to go ahead and get up now, she went to her bathroom and got ready for a shower. Once she had the water temperature adjusted, she stripped off her pajamas, let her hair down from her messy ponytail and stepped inside the shower, and groaned in satisfaction at the hot water cascading against her back.
After half n hour or so, she finally got out of the shower and decided to go ahead and get dressed. She had decided on simple dark blue jeans with a dark emerald loose-fitting blouse and some black sandals to match. She looked at herself in the mirror for a bit and decided to put her up in a tight ponytail style and made sure to put her hair on her right shoulder and hummed in satisfaction. She was going for something casual but people have told her, that no matter how well or how casual she dressed, her exotic looks always made her look like she was going out or something. And in a way now that she met Elijah, that statement wasn't exactly wrong. She had actually hoped to run into him today at the Founder's Day parade but shook herself out of it. He was a busy man, always would be considering how old he is, vampire or human-wise.
She walked downstairs to grab a cup of coffee into her favorite metal to-go cup. It was style dark blue with a hint of glitter around its middle and it's been well used the past year or so. She grabbed her duffel bag and keys before walking out the door. She smiled at how warm the weather was. Everything was bright, happy even. Birds were chirping and people were walking along the sidewalks and when she spotted Elena with Stefan on their porch across the street, she gave them a wave as she approached her motorcycle that Sirius had left her in the will. "Hello, Vanessa, your up early this morning." Elena chirped at her while Stefan gave her one of his tiny smiles. Vanessa nodded as she wrapped one leg over the bike and positioned herself comfortably. "Yes, I'm afraid Madame Mayor herself had asked if I was willing to volunteer with the Founder's Day parade I'm afraid, so you'll more than likely see me after your school is finished." She said, adding a bit of her British accent into her tone that had some of the neighbors blushing when they heard her speak. "If you're going to be there, then I guess I'll join you and Elena today. Might be a good way to get away from Damon for a while." Stefan said with a grimace.
Vanessa smirked at him. "Let me guess, sorority girls again?" She asked him. He huffed a bit but nodded causing her to give out a little chuckle whereas Elena would look at her aghast. "How can you find that amusing?" She demanded. Vanessa shrugged her shoulders and smirked at the girl before her. "He is a vampire darling, do remind her who or what she's dating will you Stefan?" She asked the man before she started revving her bike and waited until he nodded to her. She waved two of her fingers from her forehead in with a grin. "Cheerio." She said as she sped off.
Elena looked at Stefan with a frown. He shrugged in dismay. "She is right you know, we are vampires." He told her and she huffed at him. "Come on, we have school to go to I'm afraid," Stefan said as he led her to his car. Elena pouted at him. "Do we have to?" She said with a slight whine. He nodded with a small amused smirk. "Yes Elena, you can't afford to miss classes if your goal is to go to college." He told her since she was human. "Fine then, guess we're going to school." She said with a slight huff and pouted again in the passenger seat.
LATER THAT DAY:
"Oh, Vanessa, darling that looks fantastic." Carol Lockwood said to her as she admired the big banner that Vanessa was working on. Vanessa gave her a smile of appreciation. "Thank you, Madame Lockwood, it's coming along rather nicely." She admitted to herself. Carol waved a hand at her. "Oh pish posh my dear, just call me Carol." She said, making Vanessa grin at her. "Only if you'll call me Vanessa." She agreed and Carol beamed at her and wrapped her arms around Vanessa's shoulders. "I do have to say though, I think you and I will get along nicely, and excuse me about being nosy, but I think Mr. Milkaelson certainly seems to have an eye for you." She said with a smirk when Vanessa started to blush and stammer. "What..." She stuttered out and Carol started to giggle a bit at her and pointed at one of the benches under a pear tree where Vanessa could see him watching her with dark cool eyes with a book in his hand. When he noticed he had her attention, he gave her a light smile and nodded, causing her to blush a bit more when Carol noticed.
"Oh, you do like him don't you." She said with a smirk. Vanessa willed her face to cool down and scowled at the woman before her. "Oh hush you. We actually met the night before at The Grill." She admitted, grimacing that she was actually gossiping for the first time if ever. Carol gasped and gripped her by her shoulders. "Tell me everything." She said and with great reluctance, Vanessa was about to open her mouth until suddenly, Damon, in all his glory approached them with his bad boy grin on his face and in his black leather glory, smiled at Carol. "Hello, Carol, how are you on this fine day?" He said, showing off his dimples in the meantime, causing Carol to finally blush herself. Out of the corner of Vanessa's eyes, she saw that Elijah was frowning at Damon. "So Madame Mayor, would it displease you at all if I could borrow Vanessa for a while?" He asked her, charm easily rolling off of his tongue. Carol waved a hand at herself to cool down. "Oh my, um, I don't see that being a problem, thank you for all your help, Vanessa. " Carol told her with a pleased grin. Vanessa just smiled at her, relieved at having missed the gossiping chain. "Of course Carol, I was happy to help." She nodded her head and the woman left and Vanessa sighed with relief out loud.
Damon just chuckled at her in amusement. "One would think you didn't like gossiping with the ladies Ness." He teasingly said to her. Vanessa just scowled at him. "Definitely not, however, Elijah just appeared behind you." She admitted and He immediately turned around to see that indeed, Elijah was behind him. The man looked at Damon with a cold look and turned to gaze at Vanessa. "Are you alright?" He asked her with concern in his voice, though his expression didn't show it. She waved a hand at her mate and smiled. "I'm fine Elijah, Damon merely rescued me from the gossiping biddies. He's no danger to me more than he is to you." She admitted to him, though she noticed a scowl appeared on Damon's face when she said that.
Elijah nodded but it was as if he almost didn't believe her. "Very well then." He said but he grabbed a fistful of Damon's shirt to yank him closer so Vanessa wouldn't hear him. "If she comes to any sort of harm, it will be your life, understand?" He hissed at him darkly. Damon glared at him with black eyes. "She is none of your business Milkaelson," Damon growled at him. Elijah merely sneered at him. "As if you'd understand, you're still far too young to know the lines of Vampires, if you noticed her scent, she is easily known as my mate. We met last night though that is none of your business." He turned to Vanessa and his expression soften almost immediately, causing her to shift a bit at the attention on her.
He gently grabbed her hand in his and lifted it up to his lips for a gentlemanly kiss and gave her a gentle smile. "I look forward to our dinner Miss." He said with a sultry tone that had her blushing again. She nodded. "Tomorrow evening, 7 o'clock." She told him her schedule and he smirked before glaring back at Damon in a warning. "I shan't be late my dear. Good day Damon, heed my warning." He told him and disappeared from thin air. Damon sucked in a breath of air before he turned to Vanessa. "And you didn't mention this Ness? Could have given a guy a warning." He told her. Vanessa merely scowled at him and flipped her ponytail back and straighten her back. "Oh please, I was busy and according to Stefan, you were going all vampy on some Sorority girls." S he gave him a smirk when he looked unapologetic at the fact and shrugged to himself.
"Oh well, at least it got rid of Stefan. He couldn't run out of the front door fast enough." He said waggling his eyebrows with a teasing smirk at her. She just gently shoved him at his behavior. " Oh Damon, your incorrigible." She said with a light laugh and Damon smiled at her fully and wrapped an arm around her shoulders to lead her to her motorcycle. "You know it, babe, it's too bad though you're his mate, I'd imagine you'd have more than enough energy compared to Elena to handle all this." He said waving his hands up and down his body. Vanessa merely scoffed at him and rolled her eyes. "Whatever Damon, come on, let's go to the Grill. I'm hungry." She said but instead, he stopped and waved a finger in a naughty motion. She looked at him in confusion. "Nuh-uh, I'm cooking tonight sweetheart, my treat. Plus it'll give you all the time in the world to tell me all about how you met Mr. Milkaelson himself." He suggested.
Vanessa merely sighed to herself in exasperation but nodded anyways. "Fine, since you're cooking, I guess I can tell you anyway. Better than telling Carol at any rate. The whole town would be buzzing by tomorrow morning with the news that Elijah might be my new man." She said with a pout causing Damon to chuckle at her. "Ain't he though?" He said teasingly, causing Vanessa to blush and giving him a light shove. "Oh get in the car already Damon, I'll meet you at my place or yours?" She asked him. "Yours obviously. The girls haven't left yet." He said with a grin, showing off his dimples.
Vanessa just sighed at him and shook her head. "Very well then, let's get going, I'm sure Elena will be pouting when or if she shows up after school." She said reluctantly. Damon looked at her in curiosity from his black car. "Oh, did you do something?" He asked her. She smirked at him. I merely reminded her that you were a Vampire and she should remember who or what she's exactly dating." Causing him to outright laugh at her response. "Please tell me you stayed to see her reaction." He pleaded with her. She shook her head. "Sorry no, but I did ask Stefan out loud to educate her on that when I sped off." Damon resumed his laugh into a chuckle and grin at her.
"This is why you're my BFF, only you can understand me more than my brother does." He said putting on his sunglasses and sliding into the driver's seat with a grin. She shook her head at him when he drove away and smiled. "Indeed I do Damon, indeed I do." She whispered to herself before turning on her bike and starting to follow after her friend.
Well, this seems as good as any to end the chapter here. Dinner with Damon will be in the next one as well as her date with Elijah. It's going to be a very busy chapter for me lol. But let me know what you think. Should I keep going or work on something else?
