Hello everyone, I am back with another chapter. I think if this works right, I'll be doing at least two chapters per week. Since I published the 2nd chapter on Sunday, August 7, I just might publish this one on Wednesday, August 10th. I suppose it depends on how busy it gets and whatnot. At the very least, I'll be busy in the coming days. Hope you enjoy the future chapters.
Main Pairing: Vanessa x Elijah
Vanessa sighed happily when she pulled up on her bike in front of her house and noticed Damon relaxing on the front porch, just waiting for her. She turned off the bike with the key and approached the porch and looked at Damon, she frowned when she noticed his brow furrowed a bit in thought. "Damon, what's the matter?" She asked him. "I'm just thinking honestly. Sometimes I feel like it's better not to think." He said to her quietly.
Vanessa sighed as she sat on the porch across from him. "Is this about Elena then?" She asked him. He nodded to her. Vanessa scowled darkly. "I swear she gets a bit annoying, I hate how she plays between the two of you and Stefan. You deserve someone better Damon, I only wish we knew who that someone was." She said to him sadly as she swung back and forth.
He gave her a small grin as well. "Yeah same here, but in the meantime, I guess you're stuck with me eh kid." He said with a smirk and she glared at him. "Oh, a kid is it? I'll show you a kid." She said as she tackled him onto the floor of her porch as they started wrestling. In the end, she lost against his vampy strength and he started to tickle her on the side.
Peels of laughter pulled from her lips as she struggled to escape him. "No Damon. Please." She gasped out in between her giggles. "Please what princess?" He said with a grin. She kept giggling and struggling to get away from his tickling fingers and gasped in a gulf of air before a voice sounded out. "Well, this looks cozy." They paused to see that it was Jenna, Elena's aunt, looking down at them on the porch step in amusement. Damon gently got up from the floor and dusted himself off as he helped Vanessa up as well. "Hello Jenna, what brings you here?" He asked her in curiosity. Jenna smiled unsurely.
"Well I was coming over to see about introducing myself, but I could never find the right time. Are you free for dinner perhaps?" She looked at Vanessa, her hazel eyes filled with hope. Vanessa grinned and turned to Damon, raising a brow at him. He looked at her mockingly but at her nod, he sighed. "I guess I can add another lady to the dinner table then. Welcome aboard Jenna, let's go inside shall we?" He suggested and both of the ladies nodded. Vanessa led Jenna in first and looked back across the street to see Elena looking at her in a weird about sort angry way. Confusion filled Vanessa as to why Elena behaved that way, but she shrugged to herself and walked inside.
Jenna made sure her dark blue blouse isn't wrinkled as she looked around to admire the place. The living room was very cozy to be in, light grey large couch with a foot on one end and a coffee table directly in the middle. It wasn't elegant or anything in her opinion, but it was all so simple and comfortable. She even spotted a recliner on the opposite of the couch but what raised her eyebrow though is the fact there wasn't a television. She turned to Vanessa. "No tv?" She asked her. Vanessa shrugged. "I never grew up with the privilege, my relatives wouldn't let me, preferred I'd do chores. At the end of leaving, I just never gained an interest in it." She said to her honestly.
Jenna raised another eyebrow and spotted Damon in the corner of the kitchen doorway with a dark look on his face as though he heard Vanessa's answer. "Something is definitely up about her relatives, but the question is, what happened to her?" She thought to herself as they got situated in the kitchen. Vanessa shook it off a bit and turned to Jenna with a grin. "So Jenna, what are you in the mood to drink?" She asked her. Jenna hummed a bit in thought, she wanted to get drunk, but she figured that would probably be rude, so she decided to go with something safer."Well, I guess tea or water would be alright." She said softly.
Vanessa nodded and went to the fridge. She turned to Damon. "What about you Damon?" She asked him. He smirked. " I would say scotch, but I guess tea will do as well." He said with a fake haughty tone and sniffed disdainfully, pretending as though he was a noble. Both Vanessa and Jenna just giggled at him in amusement. Vanessa brought both bottles of tea, one for herself, one for Jenna, and one for Damon. "Here you go. So Damon, what were you planning for dinner tonight?" She asked him with a raised eyebrow.
Jenna turned to him with a surprised look. "Wait a minute, I was lead to believe that you, Damon Salvatore, can be a huge trouble maker but you can cook?" She wanted to laugh but kept it to herself. Damon gave her an amused smirk. "The things you can learn about someone despite the rumor mill can be so surprising." He said, trying to be mysterious. Vanessa scoffed at him and rolled her eyes when he waggled his brows at her. He turned to face Jenna. "But to answer your question, my dear, I will be making my famous homemade Spaghetti with the sauce recipe from yours truly." He said and bowed dramatically, causing Jenna to snort at him in an unladylike type of way.
"Well, I guess we'll see how well it'll turn out won't we." She said jokingly to Vanessa, causing the other girl to let out a giggle. Damon rolled up his sleeves and turned to Vanessa. "My love, wanna grab out the ingredients?" He said with a teasing grin and she gave him a look but nodded.
WITH ELENA AND STEFAN
Elena walked up to her front porch with Stefan, only to be surprised that the front door is locked. She turned to Stefan only to him staring in confusion towards Vanessa's house. "What's wrong Stefan?" She asked him quietly. He turned to her after a moment of silence. "It seems like Jenna is getting to know Vanessa and Damon and actually looks to be having a good time. They had spaghetti for dinner judging from the smell." He admitted with a weird look on his face.
Jealousy shot through Elena at the thought of both Damon and her aunt spending time with Vanessa and not her and she quickly shot it down before it showed on her face. She wanted to sneer in anger but instead looked at the house across the street in curiosity. "Should we go over to see what's going on?" She suggested, wanting to break up the party and get Jenna home. Stefan looked at the house thoughtfully but shook his head. "No, I don't think we need to. Besides, it looks like we're about to have company." He said quietly as a sleek black expensive-looking car pulled up, and out came a vampire he was definitely not looking forward to seeing. Elijah Milkaelson.
He gave Elena a small smile. "Ah Elena my dear, good to see you're keeping your end of the bargain by being safe thus far. Which is honestly a surprise considering that you're a magnet for trouble. And it..." He paused on his words and turned toward Vanessa's house with his brows furrowed. "Elijah?" Stefan asked him sternly. He did not want this man anywhere near Vanessa. She was innocent. But instead, she actually came outside from her and was about to sit down on her swing when she spotted them across the street.
Her eyes brighten immediately upon seeing Elijah, her mate. "Hello, Elijah." She said with a light wave. Stefan looked on with curiosity when Elijah actually soften and a real smile broadens on his face at seeing Vanessa. "Hello my love, I see you're having a decent evening?" He asked her. Vanessa nodded and grinned. "Yes, I was just having dinner with Damon and Jenna. Would you like to join us?" She asked him and he sadly shook his head. "I'm afraid not my love, I'm merely here on business to make sure Elena keeps up with her end of a bargain she promised." He told her honestly, hating himself secretly when she lost her smile.
"Don't think I forgot our date for tomorrow evening." He said to remind her and she lightened up again and nodded. Her magic humming with the desire to be near her mate. She did pout though that he wasn't there for her. "Alright, Elijah, I'll listen this time. I don't think I'll be as patient for next time." She said with a slight purr to her tone that had Elijah's eyes darkening with lust when she walked back inside her home with a slight wiggle of her hips.
Stefan's eyes harden once he saw that Vanessa was safe inside and immediately slammed Elijah against the flooring of the front porch with a snarl. "Stay away from her!" He demanded and he was immediately thrown on his back with Elijah straddling his body and his hand wrapped around his throat. He looked up to see Elijah's vampire has phased through his face, bloody veins surrounding his eyes as he glared at Stefan darkly. "Listen here, boy. That woman is my mate and I will not let some puny weak vampire who refuses to eat his actual diet try to keep me from her. I warned Damon and I'll warn you now. If any harm comes to her." He empathized with his threat by stabbing a nearby crushed wood into Stefan's shoulder, said vampire let out a scream of pain when the wood through.
He turned his dark glare over to Elena who was watching them with a fearful expression, although disgust filled him when he noticed she had a hint of lust in her eyes when she was roving her eyes over them. He leaned down to Stefan and made sure his lips were next to his ears so that his whisper could be heard by only them. "You should consider watching you hang around. Not everyone is as they seem." He said darkly and disappeared, leaving his car behind.
Elena schooled her features a bit and hurriedly went to help Stefan get the wood out of his shoulder.
