Chapter 13. Memoirs of an Emo.

It was late in the evening and already by this time the Loud/Louder family checked into a motel for the night. Because of how big the family grew in the past few weeks Lincoln paid for three rooms. One for himself and his wife Kate, one for his three son's, Michael, Jeffrey, and Franklyn. And finally one for his two sisters Luna, and Lynn. With the intention of visiting a third sister in the morning. Kate remembered how she acted back at the hospital were Lincoln was at. Felling a little guilty about her outburst Kate walked up to her husband and said. "You know Lincoln, First I…I want to apologies for how I acted earlier. It's…it's just that all those good memories you had with your one sister Luna. It sounded to me like you never stopped loving them."

Lincoln lowered his head slowly turned to Kate and said. "The truth is I never stopped loving any of them. They were my sisters after all. Even…even if they didn't treat me like family." Lincoln said on the verge of tears. "It was…It was just that I was afraid." He said as he began to cry.

With a perplexed look. Kate asked. "Afraid of what?"

Lincoln took a deep breath. "I was afraid that if I ever crossed paths with them again. They'll treat me just like they did during that whole ordeal…. I acted like…. I pretended like I hated them…. But the truth was….. Despite all the bad thing they did to me…. all the bad memories I had during that whole ordeal….. I….. I had just as many good memories of them from before the whole incident.… In…In the back of my mind I never stopped loving them…. They were my sisters….. My family after all." He said as he wept.

Kate wrapped her arms around her husband and said. "From what I heard from Luna and Lynn, they suffered just as much from the whole ordeal as you did."

"I know, I never thought I'd feel sorry for them after all that they did to me. But after seeing Lynn like she was. Remembering the little monster who turned the entire family against me. Then when I saw her crying and begging for my forgiveness. I could not help feel sorry for her. Then when I found out about Luna. After finding out all that she went through. I did felt sorry for her just as much as Lynn. After everything the two endured I can't help but…." Lincoln tried to explain just then Kate cut her husband off.

"Lincoln, I always thought of you as a good husband, and a good father, but after today I love you even more. Do you want to know why?" Kate asked

"Why?" Lincoln asked

"You're a good brother as well." Kate said

Lincoln looked his wife in the eyes. "So what do you think of your sister-in-law's?" he asked

Kate chuckled. "Well after hearing their story I can't blame them for wanting to reconcile with you." She said.

Lincoln chuckled. "Who'd think? After settling in with my new family, I'd reconnect with my old family." He said.

The now family of seven was going to settle in for the night, knowing full on that in the morning they will be looking for more members of his family, more aunts the three sons never knew they had. More In-Laws Kate was willing to meet. The Seven fell fast asleep for that night.

The next morning Lincoln his wife, his three sons and two sister all drove down for breakfast at the local Diner. As they were eating they discussed the day together.

"So um Dad, Are you Aunt Lynn, and Aunt Luna going to be looking for you other sisters?" Michael asked

"Yes, in fact you Aunt Lucy works at the Royal Woods Elementary School." Lincoln said

"Aunt Lucy? What's was she like?" Jeffrey asked

Lincoln looked at Lynn and Lynn looked at Lincoln. "I was her roommate back in the day. Before the whole Trial your father told you about. She was a creepy spooky sister." Lynn explained.

"She wore black all the time, her hair was black too. In fact her hair grew over her eyes. She would appear out of nowhere." Lincoln explained.

Michael smiled and said. "Creepy and Spooky? Sound like Jeffrey to me."

"Believe me son, Aunt Lucy was nothing like your brother." Lincoln said

"She was into ghost's Black magic and other creepy stuff. She use to tell us that she would talk to the ghost of our deceased Great Aunt Harriet, whom we never met." Lynn continued.

"What was your Great Aunt Harriet Like?" Jeffery asked

Lynn looked at Lincoln and Lincoln looked at Lynn. "We don't' know? None of us have met her in person." Lincoln said

"She died before any of us were born." Luna said

This made Michael excited with joy and scared Jeffrey.

"AWESOME!" Michael said with excitement.

"EEEEE!" Jeffrey screamed as he began to cry.

Lincoln looked at his middle son, smiled and said. "Don't worry Jeffrey. The chances of you actually meeting a real ghost are next to zero." He explained.

Michael looked at his mother and asked. "Mom, can I go with Dad, Aunt Luna, and Aunt Lynn to visit Aunt Lucy?"

Jeffrey looked at Michael and said. "No way! There is no way I'm Going to see a Ghost Whisperer."

"Ghost Whisperer!?" Luna Asked Puzzled

"I think you mean Spiritual Medium?" Lincoln explained

Lynn took a knee down to her nephew Jeffrey and said. "Look Jeffrey, I will agree with you that Lucy was spooky. But she was my roommate for many years before the whole incident. Yes she was creepy at times. But she was still my sister and we loved her." Lynn explained.

"Don't worry son, you have nothing to fear from her." Lincoln explained.

After a while the family agreed. All seven of them will go down to the Royal Woods Elementary school to visit with Lucy. As soon as they found the Royal Woods Elementary school the seven made their way to the Principals Office. Lincoln was surprised that the Principal was none other than his fifth grade teacher Ms. Agnes Johnson.

As she was at her desk looking over the summer school schedule. At that moment he assistant came in. "Principal Johnson, someone is here to see you." The assistant said.

As soon as Lincoln came in Agnes Johnson's jaw dropped and her face was that of shock. "Lincoln?" she asked with surprise.

"Yes Miss Johnson it's me." Lincoln answered.

Still in shock to see her former student from her fifth grade teaching years, before the whole incident. Principal Johnson had to ask. "So, ah, Lincoln…what brings you here?"

"I've returned looking for my sisters." Lincoln stated.

A look of sheer confusion fell on Agnes Johnsons face. After the whole "State of Michigan vs Loud." Trial she thought she'd never see Lincoln again. After all the details that was published from the trial returning to see his sisters was the very last thing she thought Lincoln would want to do.

"Sorry Lincoln I've must have misheard you? Did you say you've wanted to see your sisters?" Principal Johnson said.

"Nope you did not miss hear me Miss. Johnson. I've returned to Royal Woods to see my sisters, and I understand one of them work for you." Lincoln stated.

After Lincoln made it clear Agnes knew right then and there that he returned to see his sisters. "Alright but brace yourself." She said as she pressed the call button on her desk. "Miss Yates would you please report to my office." She concluded.

Lincoln was a little puzzled. Did Lucy marry a man with the last name Yates? He was even more taken off guard when a woman walked into Miss Johnson's office. She wore a pink dress with a white shirt had short blond hair with the front cut showing her blue eyes. She did have pale white skin like Lucy but other than that she looked completely different to Lincoln.

As soon as the woman walked in she stood back with a gasp. It was almost as if she recognized Lincoln. Even though Lincoln didn't recognize her at first. To Lincoln it seemed like some random woman walked into the room.

"Lincoln…is…is that really you." She asked in a low quiet tone.

Lincoln a little hesitant said. "Yes?" unsure even if the woman standing in the office was Lucy.

Miss. Johnson then explained. "Lincoln this is your sister Lucy. She took the last name of Yates after the family that adopted her."

After a while of looking at his sister Lucy looked down with a sad withdrawn expression.

"Tell you two what. I'll step out of the room for a while and let you two ketch up on each other's lives." Miss Johnson said as she left the two alone in the room.

Lincoln now almost certain that the pink dressed with the short blond haired blue eyed woman standing in front of him was his goth emo sister Lucy. He began to talk with her. "So um Lucy you seem apprehensive." Lincoln said

"It's like your back from the dead… I should be overly happy and excited to see you again… But I'm also all too familiar about that…day…I always thought I'd be the last person in the world you wanted to see again." Lucy said in a low monotone voice not so much as even looking up at her brother.

"So I see you've changed your look. Miss Johnson told me you were adopted by the Yates family?" Lincoln said

Still with her head hung down and looking in the floor not so much as giving a glance at her brother Lucy took a deep breath and said. "After the trial, and mom and dad being sent off to prison. Me and Luan were adopted by the Yates family. Bumper Yates Sr. and his wife Jancey. They became our family and I took up their last name." Lucy said

Lincoln still a curious about Lucy's style and life with the Yates asked. "So are you still into well… Macomb…"

"Do you mean if I still to spiritual mediums and funerals?" Lucy asked in her down cast tone.

"Yes those." Lincoln asked

"Nope…after being adopted by the Yates I've changed my way. I don't do those things anymore." Lucy explained

"So I see you're a teacher now. How long have you've been teaching at this school?" Lincoln asked

"Five years now. I've became one shortly after graduating from Grad School." Lucy explained.

"Wow! Guess the Yates must be very proud of you." Lincoln said

Lucy pulled out her phone and shown him a photo of her with Bumper and Jancey standing next to Lucy on her Grad School Graduation day. The two were smiling cheek to cheek but Lucy kept her dead pan blank expression.

"They were very proud of me on that day. They believed that they have raised me right. I always thought of myself as something of an outcast to them. True they encouraged me to achieve my goal in life. They wanted me to be as they put it 'Well Rounded' so I stuck my nose into my studies and focused primarily on becoming a teacher as a way to share my love of poetry with the rest of the world." Lucy said still in her deadpan tone.

"So what about you Lincoln?" Lucy asked

"After the trial I was adopted by Larry and Lora Louder in Deerfield Illinois. I'm married to my wife Kate and have three son's Michael, Jeffrey and Franklin." Lincoln explained

Hearing about how good Lincoln had it after the trial almost made Lucy smile. Almost she bowed her before Lincoln even noticed her face flinch.

"So Lucy how was life like being raised by the Yates?" Lincoln asked

Lucy took a deep breath. "At first I enjoyed my new life with them. Over the first few months or so I've gotten use to their lively routine of charity work, Social activities, and environmental activities." Lucy said in her dead pan stoic tone.

"About three or four months in. I started having nightmares. They involved my Great-Aunt Harriet. She was Pop-Pops eldest sister after all." Lucy started to explain.

Lincoln did remember the time Lucy would channel her Great-Aunt Harriet. She even explained how she dyed her hair black after her. "Oh yes I remembered your Great-Aunt Harriet." Lincoln said

Lucy still stoic started trembling a little and said. "She would course me for turning my back on my elder brother. For my part in the whole 'State of Michigan vs. Loud' trial. She said explained how she would always look after her little brother Albert. Pop-Pop…." Lincoln could tell that Lucy was fighting back tears. "She would point out all the time's you were there for me. All the times you've helped me with my poetry and how you took the blame for the whole 'Princess Pony' book incident…. You always were a good brother to me Lincoln…but from what Great-Aunt Harriet told me….I was a horrible sister…I would explain to her that it was all Lynn's fault…and that Lynn was the one who turned the entire family against her…She told me it was no excuse….That I could have and should have spook out against the rest of the family…. How even though you were my older brother….I've should have stuck up for you just like you've stuck up for me in the past."

Lucy's world really did sink into Lincoln like a dagger being pushed through his hart. Just listening to his little sister and how the one ghost whom she channel turned against her and blamed her for all his suffering. True she was his younger sister at the time but even Lincoln wouldn't hold her accountable for what Lynn and his parents did to him.

Still trembling and fighting back tears Lucy asked. "Lincoln…do you know why I've gave up funerals and spiritual mediums and funerals?"

Having an idea on what Lucy was going to say. Lincoln asked. "Why?"

"I was afraid that the souls of the dead would judge and condemn me just like Great-Aunt Harriet did... The souls of the people who died also have families just like ours…They have brothers...Sisters…Mothers…Fathers…Husbands…Wives…and Children…" Lucy took a deep breath. "One thing I became assure of now that I was not then…Is that the ghost of those who have families would never have treat their family member in their life the same way I've treated you in your life." Lucy concluded.

Lincoln felt an overwhelming swell of pity and sorrow for his emo sister. Even thought she was not showing her emotions at the time. He knew how bad and sorry she was over the whole trial that happened over twenty years ago.

Lincoln took a deep breath. "Lucy… Look it's been twenty years since the whole trial. I know that during that time I was adopted by a loving family and married a loving wife and started a family of my own. I know how guilty you feel for your part in all this. But I want you to know that what happened during that whole ordeal was not your fault and you should not blame yourself. I also what you to know that I want you back in my life. As my sister, and as my friend." Lincoln said

At that moment Lucy could no longer hold back her emotions. She threw her arms around Lincoln hugging him and buried her face in his chest. Lincoln didn't hesitate as he hugged her back. He soon felt wet as Lucy sobbed quietly in his arms.

"It's going to be alright Lucy, It's going to be alright." Lincoln said as he comforted his little sister. Lucy didn't say anymore. She didn't need to. To have her brother forgive her and want her back in her life was all she wanted at the moment.

Meanwhile in the secretary's office were the rest of Lincoln's family was waiting. Lincoln walks out to introduce his three sons to their Aunt Lucy. As soon as Lucy walked out she saw that Lynn was with them. Lucy's emotions quickly shifted from one of sorrow and guilt, to one of happiness and joy, not she was feeling anger and rage.

"What…Is…She…Doing…Here?" Lucy said in a deep dark tone.

Lincoln was quick to intervene. "Calm down Lucy, We've talked things over." Lincoln said

The puzzled Lucy a bit. It was only a year ago when Lynn got employed by the school as a custodian. During that brief time she'd targeted and attacked Lynn because of the trial. And the entire incident. "You Mean You forgave her?" Lucy asked.

"Yes…It's been over twenty years since the whole incident. I've drove down to Lincoln home were he and his family lives. I've begged for forgiveness for everything I did to him and he forgave me." Lynn explained.

"You forgave her just like that?" Lucy asked

"Of course when she first came to my home I wanted to kick her out, but after seeing how sorry she was I couldn't just ignore her." Lincoln said

Tears once again began to build up in Lucy's eyes. Before she could say anything Lincoln introduce his three son's to her.

"Michael, Jeffrey, Franklin. This is your Aunt Lucy." Lincoln said.

At that moment tears began pouring down Lucy's face once again.

"Aunt Lucy what's wrong?" Michael asked

"Your father is the most loving caring soul in the entire world." Lucy said as she embraced her three nephews crying. But Lucy was not crying tears of sorrow or tears of grief. For the first time in her life Lucy was crying tears of joy.

After a while of getting to know her nephews and what their family was like. Lincoln then had to ask. "Lucy you said that you and Luan got adopted by the Yates. Do you know what happened to Luan?"

"OH yah. I do know what happened to Luan." Lucy said

"Do you know where she lives'?" Lynn asked

Lucy lowered her head and her stoic expression returned. "I'm afraid I have some bad news regarding Luan." She said in a low quiet tone."

Everyone in the room stood silent as Lucy was about to reveal to them what happened to Luan.

A.N. Sorry to leave on a cliffhanger but I have a lot going on at the moment. I'll try to get the net chapter in next month.
