The Mushroom Gorge was enjoying a quaint, quiet peaceful day as Toadette, its most common visitor, was sitting on the wooden bridge, relaxing as she was appreciating how good the curse was.

"Ahh... do I ever love it here." Toadette commented as she giggled, nodding her head. "Sometimes, whenever I feel lost, I realize that I can just come here and relax. And boy, does it relax me, all right!"

However, Toadette wouldn't get to enjoy this, as a wifi race started, with all the eight racers being Miis in different vehicles, causing Toadette to run away as she was chased by the random Miis.

"Ahhh!" Toadette exclaimed as she ran as fast as she could, frantically glancing back at the random Miis as she pleaded for help. "I didn't ask for this! Waah!"

"Ergh, it's so boring here!" One of the three waddling Goombas complained as he walked back and forth, being near the bend towards the finish line.

"Then use your imagination." The second Goombas told the first, complaining Goomba.

"Imagination? What good is that for?" The first Goomba complained once more.

The third Goomba sighed as he turned to the first Goomba. "It's so you have something on mind without wanting to kill yourself."

"Really?" The first Goomba remarked as he closed his eyes. "All right, I'm imagining... hnng..."

The first Goomba exploded into various red capped mushrooms, with the other two Goombas glancing at each other and shrugging as they kept waddling in place.

Birdo noticed that more coniferous trees were popping up on top of the green grass covered mountains, prompting her to fold her arms as she walked up to the mountain near the wooden bridge, standing on the grass. "Hmm... strange, I didn't notice that there were this many trees before..."

It was then that the ground shook, a coniferous tree rising in the spot Birdo was standing on, sending the pink dinosaur into the air as she screamed, flailing her arms as she landed in the tree, getting stuck.

"Help... help!" Birdo called out as she tried to struggle out, but failed too, the leaves and branches preventing her from being able to move.

Wiggler gleefully giggled as she clapped her hands, winning in a race between her, the Honey Queen Bee, and the red shelled female Lakitu.

"Ha ha! I'm going to win, gals!" Wiggler taunted cheerfully as she stuck her tongue out at the Queen Bee and Lakitu. "You guys will have to just settle for second and third!"

And then Lakitu used the Lightning she held on since the first lap, causing Wiggler to shrink and fall in the gorge between the bouncy red mushroom and the dirt paved road, leaving Lakitu to snatch first place as the Honey Queen came second, with Wiggler being picked back up by the non playable green Lakitu, losing all of her coins.

"Grrr!" Wiggler growled as she turned red with rage, speeding up as much as she could to catch up. "I should have kept my big mouth shut!"

Dry Bowser was inside the huge mountain, noticing that all the mushrooms, including even the non bouncy green mushrooms, were getting smaller. He murmured as he folded his skeletal arms together, standing on the edge of the dirt paved blue road just before the bouncy mushrooms.

"Something is not right here..." Dry Bowser commented as he shook his skeletal head, tapping his skeletal right foot. "Why are all the mushrooms in this mountain suddenly shrinking... hrmm..."

Toad sighed in annoyance as he was waiting for the race to start, being in a four player race against Mario, Princess Peach Toadstool, and King Bowser Koopa. Lakitu hadn't shown up yet, and he was getting annoyed.

"Darn it! When is he gonna show up!?" Toad exclaimed as he slammed his wheel with both of his hands.

"Toad, have patience!" Mario exclaimed as he raised his hands in the air, blinking as he shook his head. "I'm a-sure Lakitu will show up-a at any moment-a now..."

"Pfft, he better, unless he wants his butt roasted," Bowser grumbled as he had his burly yellow arms folded.

Peach nodded as she held her hands together. "Yeah... I gotta go to the bathroom, I didn't have a chance to bake my brownies..."

Mario, Toad, and Bowser all gave Peach odd glances as the blonde human princess frowned, knowing that she would get this reaction.

"Hey, you would make unintentional innuendos too if you had to deposit your gold, too," Peach remarked, once again referring to using the bathroom.

Mario, Toad, and Bowser all did their best to ignore Peach as the four kept waiting for Lakitu, with it being more likely that he wouldn't show up.

Funky Kong was doing another time trail as he was riding on the Flame Runner, was one would suspect. However, as he passed the finish line for a second time and started lap 3, the clear blue sky gave way for stormy clouds, as thunder boomed loudly, with it beginning to rain.

"Aw man!" Funky moaned as he shook his head, knowing that his great speedy record was ruined as the rain made the yellow dirt paved road marshy, preventing the Flame Runner from going at max speed.
