chapter 11

The television exploded from the impact of a knife thrown into the screen. Onlooking witnesses, stood around as they watched the television sparked and lit alight from the impact until one ordered with a low husky voice.

"Someone put that out." Turning on his heel, placing both hands over his hips as he walked away and a woman of red hair approached his side. Running her slender pale white hands over his shoulder and down his bicep.

"What is wrong, love?" He never replied. "Are you going to let that mole said about animals right get to you?" Said, veronica with her erotic seducing glance. Turning slightly, glanced alittle and lightly caressed her cheek then grasped her throat and hissed lowly.

"Why you would think that?" Veronica shrugged her shoulders and smug alittle. "Presumed you were, I apologise."

"Get ready, I'll be there in a few." Releasing her from his grasp and watched her walk away. Approached by another behind him.

"What is the first step boss?" Keeping his back to the man, that waited for a reply. Sighed irritated and he answered.

"First, I am going to play with my toy girl and you are going to find out what if this is true about the species citizenships."

"Are you sure this is real? For all we know it could be a hoax." Looking back, over his shoulder and stepped toward his desk. Taking out a yellow envelope, holding it up and asked. "No, not from the inside information I have received earlier." Dropping the large envelope on the desk, allowing the photographs to fall out. "What are these?"

"What does it look like, arthur?"

Raised his brow, stepped forward to the desk and reached for the first three photographs. Quickly observed each one then rose his gaze.

"Cosplayers?" Arthur replied, confused. "No arthur, they are mutants. Freaks." John answered. "They are mutants? How is that possible?" Arthur asked.

"That is what we are going to find out, so I ask you to gather some men and scout out." John instructed. Arthur sighed and placed the photographs down then said as he walked away. "I'll get right on it, boss."

"You do that." John replied, as arthur exit out the door and closed behind himself. Turned around and picked his mobile up, as it vibrated. Looking to the caller ID, whilst the phone continued to ring. Finally, john answered.

"Talk."

John smiled, as he was right about the suspicions of the uprising of new species community. Meanwhile, hugging her little legs in her chest as the rain slowly pelt down, over top and surrounded the dark alley. Hiding in the shadows of the darkness, her clothes were getting drenched. Her hair, drenched form the cold rain water. The water droplets fell from her nose and jawline. Tightening her embrace around her little legs as she rose her gaze, when hearing footsteps approach in the distance of the blindsided walk path.

Her little heart begun to race, her breathing quicken and weighed heavier in her chest. Widen eyes, staring at the somewhat lit alley way opening. Her breathing suddenly slowen and soften when a couple laughed and continued on their way as they never noticed. Too busy with themselves and occupied in their interest of the evening.

The rain grew heavier in the pelting fall, her little belly rumbled with hunger. Her little froze, shivered and ached in stiffening pain. Lowering her little forehead into her knees, closed her eyes. It wasn't long as she begun to recall memories in her dreams.

"Rose…Rosie." A voice softly called, as footsteps approached. Her body trembled in fear, shaking frantically silent as she breathed heavily. Wanting to move, but her body froze. Once again her name was called.

"Rosie…" Seeing the shadowed feet underneath the door, standing patiently. Waiting eagerly. Her heart quickened, creating havoc pain in her little chest. The sudden bang on the door, when she watched the handle shake and quaked as the man realised it was locked.

Banging on the door, demanding it to be opened. "Rosie, open this door. Sweetheart, open the door." Not believing the words spoken as she trembled and ushered herself to the window. The door continued to shake and the banging became louder as wood was splitting. Frantically breathed, fighting to open the window as she looked back behind her and struggled then finally she gotten the window open.

Climbing out the window, holding the edge of the window as she looked how she would escape. The door was broken down, the man stared through the broken opening as he shouted.

"Rosie! Don't you do it!"

Glaring her abuser, her heart raced as her chest ached. He continued to kick in the door and finally he entered as rosie escaped. Leaped from the window ledge and landed on the grass hedge beneath. Hovering out of the window, gritting his teeth in anger as he watched rosie run away in the darkness. Clenching his fist and slammed on the window sill and hurriedly turned on his heel, storming out of the room.

Running away, fast as she could. Her little legs carried her as they could until had finally collapsed from exhaustion.

Few hours later, awoken and looked around. Unaware how, where she is and why. Looking down herself, she was in clean dry clothing. Laying in a warm bed. The door opened, as she jumped out and huddled in the corner.

"Hey, hey. Shush, shush. It is alright. You are safe." A woman tried to comfort the frightened child. But she refused to believe and huddled in the corner, never spoken a word. Keeping her distance, and assured.

"It is alright, you are safe. I can promise you are. No one will hurt you, I will leave something for you by the door when you are ready." The woman left the room, closed the door behind herself and Rosie slowly crept to the bed and looked over. Waited a moment then climbed over to the tray, that sat on the dresser across the room.

Hurriedly ate the bread without hesitation, followed by the fresh orange juice then finally the vegetables with warm gravy. And suddenly she glanced toward the window, slightly open. Finished the orange juice and ate some of the vegetables, taking the last of her bread and crept to the window. Pushing it open and climbed out, disappearing into the alleyway.

Light knocking on the door, and opened slowly. The woman who found rosie, rushed in and searched for her then realised the window was opened as should be. Frantically panicked as she hurried to the window and leaned out. Crying out. "Little girl where are you?"

Rosie had ran fast and disappeared into the crowd. Not caring if anyone saw who she was as her only thought were to find a hideaway.
