Chapter 2: Lords of the Realm pt. 2
It was night and Tsukune was flying over a cornfield that was not far where a rumored Alien black market hideout was, and kept an eye out for anything suspicious.
The reason why was because he heard that a box of the next five fingers of Akurama had been seen. More specifically, the box belonging to Lord Gembu.
'Hm. It has to be somewhere around here…' He thought as he kept sweeping the area. After a few minutes, he spotted activity coming from a barn house. 'I think I found it.' He grinned as he started making his way toward the structure.
However, as he reached the barn, he soon saw that a Pyronite (an alien species he read about in the plumbers manual) was being harassed by a group of police officers.
'False alarm. Shit.' The vampire sighed mentally as he debated about whether to lend his assistance to the young alien. 'I'm not sure, I'm on a bit of a tight race here.' He thought further.
Deciding to at least see what a Pyronite was even doing on Earth, he swooped down and nailed a sheriff in the side of the head, knocking him to the ground and leaving him dazed. The other's turned their attention to him upon seeing one of their own on the ground.
"So you had an accomplice, Allen." The leader of the squad grunted.
"Hardly. I was here looking for something when I saw you idiots harassing this kid." Tsukune shot back, cracking his knuckles. "You know, if there's one thing I hate–it's bullies who pick on people just because they're different." He added, spreading his wings in an intimidation display.
"He's started several fires!" One of the sheriffs protested.
"Where's your proof?" The True Vampire challenged.
"He's on fire, isn't he?" The man's deputy pointed out.
"There's also plasma burns, ever consider that you could be dealing with something like a plasma cutter or something like that?" The vampire stated, recalling the damage he'd passed over on the way there. The law enforcers glanced at one another thoughtfully.
"Sir, you gotta admit, he has a point. Allen might be on fire, but I don't think he can cause that kind of damage." One of the female members of the squad commented.
"Or maybe he can, but he's not showing it." The leader shot back, and it was obvious he was dead-set on the kid, Allen, being the cause.
"Okay, I have no patience for this." Tsukune sighed, unwilling to entertain the stupidity of these people. He quickly blitzed them, knocking them out with chops to the neck and leaving them napping on the ground. "Okay, kid. Mind telling me what's actually going on?" He questioned.
"Uh, can we go somewhere away from them first?" Allen asked, pointing at the out cold law enforcers.
"Fair enough." The True Vampire shrugged before they headed elsewhere.
(Later)
"And that's about it." The apparent hybrid said, having finished filling in Tsukune on his side of the story.
Turns out the local Sheriffs think he's causing fires because of his powers, never once thinking that they might be wrong.
From Tsukune's own observations, they were definitely wrong, based on the plasma burns he saw all over the place. Allen also appeared to have Pyronite ancestry.
"Any idea of what's doing this?" He asked.
"No idea." The boy responded. "What are you, exactly?" He questioned, never really getting the chance to ask.
"I'm a True Vampire, a Z-Class monster from Japan." Tsukune responded. "I'm currently trying to find a collection of relics that were stolen from my homeland by these freaks called the DNAliens." He continued.
"Wait, vampire? You-you guys are real?" Allen asked, taking a step back nervously.
"You're half alien, and you're shocked at mythical monsters existing?" Tsukune asked with a raised eyebrow, causing the African hybrid to look rather sheepish.
"Okay, you got me there." He conceded. "But I don't know anything about these DNAliens you mentioned, so I don't really have anything for you there." He added.
"Well these guys like really cold atmospheres and look like a giant brained squid that decided to squeeze itself into a wetsuit." The vampire stated as a familiar set of headlights came up behind them. "Finally, cavalry's here." He sighed.
As Kevin's car came to a stop, the trio got out and walked up to them.
"You said you found something, Tsukune?" Gwen asked.
"Yeah. I found this hybrid over here, but he's in a tough spot. Local Sheriffs think he's causing fires because of his powers." The True Vampire explained.
"You mean the crop circles?" Kevin pointed out. "Can't be, the ground was scorched smooth. You'd need a laser for that." He continued as he looked at Allen. "And last I checked, Pyronites can't shoot lasers." He added.
"How did you…?" Allen questioned.
"Call it a hunch." The Osmosian stated as he tossed the boy's plumber badge back to him. "You dropped this."
"Thanks." The boy nodded as he caught it. "But how are we gonna prove that I'm innocent in all this?" He wondered.
"Simple. We take down the ones that are behind it all." Ben stated before he kneeled down to the ground and started drawing in the dirt with a piece of rubble. "Plus, while I did some flying to get a look at the place, I saw these "crop circles" from above. These don't look like crop circles. They look more like circuit boards." He stated as everyone looked at his drawing.
"Hm. You're actually right; they do look that way." Tsukune nodded.
"How do you know?" Kevin questioned.
"Gwen pointed it out." The wielder of the Omnitrix stated, jabbing a thumb at his cousin.
"And I'm willing to bet that our culprits are the same aliens that we met in Nevada." Gwen nodded.
"That's what I'm thinking, too." Tsukune nodded in agreement. "Ben, let's take to the skies and see if we can find any activity in the fields." He added, spreading his wings as the Omnitrix bearer turned into Jetray.
"Let's go." Ben nodded as the two took flight.
As they began flying over the fields, the two quickly took notice of several small silver blips that were milling about in the brush. Blips that looked like people in hazmat suits.
"I think we found the culprits." Ben noted.
"Let's take 'em out." Tsukune nodded before the two swooped down and started attacking the workers, startling them before they turned their lazer equipment on the two.
"Shit! Duck!" Tsukune yelped as he ducked, dodging the beam and causing it to carbon freeze several stalks of corn.
"Whoa!" Ben yelped as he narrowly evaded a beam. "Those things are no joke!" He gasped.
"Focus on taking them down, damn it!" The Z-Class boy exclaimed as he punched another of the workers, knocking their mask off. When the one he punched turned their head back to him, he was greeted by a DNAlien face. "Oh good. I was looking for you." He growled.
"Let go of me, inferi-ACK!" The alien spat before Tsukune grabbed him by the face.
"Sorry, what was that? I couldn't hear you over the sound of your brain getting squashed." He growled. "Now, where is the box belonging to Lord Siryu?" He questioned fiercely.
"We– We sold it to an alien on the black market for resources!" The DNAlien replied quickly.
"Who was it sold to?! You have to have known who you were doing business with!" The future monster king demanded.
"Vulcanus! It was Vulcanus!" The creature cried in reply.
"Thank you." Tsukune nodded before he squashed the alien's brain and tossed its corpse aside.
"Did you just…?" Ben questioned as he turned back after knocking out the other aliens.
"Don't start." The vampire warned, before the ground suddenly started turning silver. "What the?!" He gasped.
From out of the ground, a giant tower rose. It was obviously alien in nature, and the second it was turned on, the weather turned colder and it started snowing. It was at this point that Allen arrived with Gwen and Kevin in tow.
"So this was their plan. Turning this place into a giant freezer." Kevin noted as he touched the ground, absorbing the metal.
"We gotta destroy that thing before things get worse." Allen said before the Sheriffs showed up again.
"So this was your plan, Allen. You made a giant tower to steal all the heat so you can fuel your powers." The leader of the squad said, causing Tsukune to facepalm at his stupidity.
"Literally none of that is right!" He exclaimed in exasperation. "How the hell do you expect a kid his age to build something like this on his own?!" He questioned, gesturing to the mega structure.
"Guys! Less arguing, more fighting. We got company!" Gwen snapped as she started firing mana blasts at several DNAliens that were running their way.
"It's hero time!" Ben exclaimed as he slammed his hand on the Omnitrix and then transformed again. "Swampfire!" He yelled.
Snarling, Tsukune charged the DNAliens and started punching and kicking them aside with extreme prejudice in tandem with the others as they fought their way to the tower. Along the way, though, their enemies started freezing them one by one. Ben managed to thaw his way out while Allen seemed to be immune. When Tsukune was frozen, though, he burst free with a roar of anger.
"That's it! Now I'm pissed!" He growled before he blitzed the remaining DNAliens and quickly flew to the top to deal with the ones firing on them from there.
"Allen, follow Tsukune!" Swampfire barked.
"How? I can't fly!" The boy yelled as he dodged more ice blasts.
"Concentrate your power into a chunk of earth big enough for you to stand on! You can use that to fly!" Swampfire instructed as he lobbed a fireball at another group of DNAliens.
"Let me guess, trick you learned as Heatblast?" Kevin called as he decked an alien in the face.
"Pretty much!" Swampfire nodded as he made roots sprout from the ground to tilt the tower a bit. "Now guys!" He yelled.
"Right!" Gwen and Kevin chorused as they started attacking the tower, trying to knock it over while Allen did as Ben instructed and used his powers to make a little patch of earth for him to fly on, finding it more manageable than his old method. He then went to the top and gave Tsukune a hand in dealing with the DNAliens there, and they managed to take them out in a few seconds.
"And now, the final push!" The vampire yelled as he flew into a corkscrew and slammed himself into the tower in a flying kick, causing it to finally fall over.
"Whew! That was something else!" Allen breathed as he returned to the ground with the True Vampire.
"Okay, we dealt with these guys. Now what?" Kevin wondered.
"Well I didn't find what I was looking for. It got sold to someone named Vulcanus on the black market." Tsukune said, causing Ben to groan.
"Oh come on! Him?" He complained.
"Not a fan of yours, I take it?" The boy questioned as Allen helped thaw out a few of the officers.
"Me and Gwen had a run-in with him back when we were ten. Hearing that he's got five of that Akurama guy's fingers does not make me feel happy." The green eyed boy replied with a sigh.
"Not sure what he'd intend to do with them, I mean, they're pretty much useless outside of the hands of a monster." The vampire stated. "Not like they'd be worth much either." He added.
"True." Gwen nodded. "He'll probably just stash them away somewhere and not think about them again… Or use them as a decoration." She added.
"That's kinda morbid." Kevin pointed out.
"All the more reason why we need to get them back." Tsukune stated as he crossed his arms.
Dragon Emperor0: Well, that chapter didn't take too long. Barring the break we took to plan it.
ThermalsniperN7: Yeah. But to be fair, it was a short episode, and it's probably gonna be that way for a while. Short episodes, I mean.
Dragon Emperor0: You're probably right. Not much to say about the chapter overall so… guess we'll see you guys later.
