Black and purple. That's all that's surrounding him. His body is going in one direction. He is still entranced.
Wolf snaps back to reality and looks around. "What is going on? Where am I?"
He sees a small bright light.
"Am I dead? ... I kinda doubt it."
He looks down at himself and sees his journal still in his hand.
"Wait a minute... I didn't die..."
Realization hits him.
"An earthquake happened. After that, I checked on my neighbors and this thing...this portal appeared in front of my home. I guess it somehow hypnotized me and made me walk into it."
He looks at the light that is now getting bigger.
"Just what is on the other side? I guess those missing people that were on the news are there."
Wolf covers his eyes.
"Guess I'm about to find out if my answer is right."
He goes through the light.
Date: September 1st, 1939
Location: Airspace above the Black Sea, between Europe and Asia
A dark cloud appears and starts swirling until it becomes larger.
People in the countries surrounding the Black Sea watch the dark cloud grow.
Something came out of the cloud. It was black with blue hexogonal lines. There were red spots on the underside of its "wings" and its main body, which is two torpedo-shaped objects of different lengths attached together. It has a few spikes around its body: three on the longer body and one on the short body. On one side of the long body is what looks like a propeller of a plane that has two spikes instead of blades.
Another one like it came out of the large spiraling dark cloud, then another, and another.
20 of them started flying towards west of the Black Sea...
Location: Near the eastern border of Karlsland and Ostmark, Europe
A violet portal appeared above a city and the inhabitants noticed it.
Something falls out of it and is heading towards the city.
The object crashes near a two-story house. A kid, along with another kid and two adults rush out of the house to check what happened. They see a small crater with the object, identified as a person, in the center.
The four see that the person is wearing a gas mask with the filter being where the mouth is at, a helmet, a long trench coat, a necklace that has a plane hanging from it, gloves, and boots. The thing they also notice about this person's outfit is that everything is black except for the necklace which is gold. On the helmet they see the number 46 on the middle front. The person is hold a book in their right hand.
One of the kids, a blonde boy speaks. "Mom, that person looks like-" "I know, Kurt. Let's bring him back to the house to treat his wounds."
Kurt nods and he and the other adult walk to the person. They bring the person up and carry them to the house.
Location: Dacia, Europe
The 20 black plane-like objects start firing what looks like red energy beams at the buildings in front of it. Explosions occur where the beams hit. The people scream and scatter. The objects fly over while still firing.
Sirens are heard. Planes and what seems to be young girls wearing military uniforms and things that look like planes and holding large guns fly towards the black objects.
They started firing at the black objects which responded in kind by shooting beams at them.
30 more of the objects appeared and joined the others in the destruction of the cities below.
5 people also wearing the plane-like devices on their legs appear and join the girls and planes. This group of 5 are wearing the same outfit: a helmet, a gas mask with the filter being where the mouth is at, a long trench coat, and gloves. There are numbers on the middle front of their helmets. The eye glasses on the gas masks are glowing red.
One of them starts talking. "Destroy these things at all costs! All Black Masks: Remember your training!"
A series of "Roger" were heard from the other four.
One of the black objects suddenly turns white and breaks apart into small countless white fragments. "That's one Neuroi down!"
"We still got way more to go!"
"This is all too sudden!"
Down below the fighting, the civilians are leaving the destroyed city.
The Neuroi leave the city while fighting with the humans. They spread apart to continue the destruction.
Within a few hours they left the country behind them in ruins. Radio messages are heard. "Dacia has fallen. I repeat: Dacia has fallen. The Neuroi have now fully returned."
"They used the hit-and-run tactic..."
"All civilians have been evacuated."
"The Neuroi have invaded Ostmark! Another dark cloud is appearing!"
"This is Black Mask sub-unit C commander Josef Schmitt. We need assisstance in evacuating the civilians."
Location: Near the eastern border of Karlsland and Ostmark, Europe
Kurt glances at the person wearing the black mask who is laying down on a bed. He and the others checked the person and saw that they were fine. He checked the plane necklace and saw the person's name: John W. Smith.
A girl walked into the room. "Has he awakened yet?"
Kurt shakes his head. "Not yet."
"What should we do with him?"
"Let's let him rest for now. We'll figure out the rest once he's awoken."
The two look at John and to the book that is next to him. "He managed to hold onto that book after who knows what happened to him."
"I cannot believe that the Neuroi are back."
"We both know what that means."
They took one last look at John before they look at the book.
They read the title "Personal Journal" that's on it.
A groan is heard from John. The two look at him.
He slowly got up and was about to rub his eyes until he felt the mask. He looks at his hands and then feels the mask. He tries to pull off the mask but to no avail. He grabs the edge of the mask on his chin and tries to peel it off. The mask does peel off but only stops just slightly above the mouth. He tugs at it and it won't go up.
He let's go of it and it reattaches itself to his lower head. He looks around and sees Kurt and the girl.
"..."
"Glad you're awake, Mr. John Smith."
"Where am I and who are you?"
"My name is Kurt Flachfeld."
"And I am Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke. You're now in the Karlsland Empire."
Karlsland? Judging by their names I must be in an alternate Germany. Did they really call me John Smith? I better go with it. Minna's name is oddly similar to my original namesake's...
"What is the date?"
"September 1st, 1939."
Behind his mask, his eyes went wide.
Did I hear Kurt right? September 1st, 1939... Oh god... If this is an alternate world, then what's going to happen?
"We'll leave you to get dressed. You may have some questions."
He watches them leave the room. He looks around again and sees his book. He then sees the black clothing.
"I guess I must've entered this world wearing that."
He gets up and starts getting dressed. Once done he grabs the book, leaves the room and walks down the stairs.
He sees the two sitting down around a table.
I might as well get this over with and find out what's going on.

A dark cloud has formed and started swirl while getting bigger.
Planes fly towards it and start shooting at it.
A Neuroi shaped like the others comes out of the dark cloud and destroys the planes by firing red beams at them. It then fired more beams at the ground below.
It flew towards a nearby town.
The other Neuroi join their new member and start firing at the buildings.
Thus begins a new war, the Second Neuroi War.
