The morning sun filtered in through the kitchen window of a small home in Mustafu, Japan. In the kitchen was a girl with long silver hair humming and preparing breakfast for her family. She danced about the kitchen setting the table and starting a pot of coffee.

There was a loud meow and she turned her violet eyes to the cat stretching on the window sill. It was all black and had bright yellow eyes altogether like a normal cat until you got where the tail was, instead of one tail there were two waving in a hypnotic dance.

She smiled at the cat. "Neko, would you mind waking up Dad and Ren?" The cat jumped down from the sill and ran upstairs. She giggled when she heard a child's voice shout and was quickly followed by a man's yell.

Two sets of footsteps could be heard coming downstairs along with some grumbling. The silver-haired girl set down a mug of coffee along with the morning paper at the head of the table and a large stack of pancakes covered in syrup at one of the other empty chairs.

The girl was soon joined by her little brother Ren black hair shaggy and rubbing the sleep out of his violet eyes and right behind him was a bigger copy, her dad.

"Keiko, you need to stop sending that demon of yours to wake us up," her dad grumbled as he sat at the table drinking his coffee. Ren nodded along with his dad.

"I wouldn't need to if both of you didn't stay up so late," Keiko said, completely unrepentant. She scratched Neko behind the ear as the cat jumped on the table. "You can rest now Neko." The cat nodded to Keiko's words waving her tails in goodbye before stepping into Keiko's sketch book disappearing inside.

"Where's Mom?" the seven year old boy asked, tearing into his stack of pancakes. Keiko sighed a bit as she stoked the boy's hair. Their mom Noriko Omori was a nurse at a nearby hospital.

"She hasn't gotten back from her shift at the hospital yet," Keiko said before glancing at her dad who already had his face buried into the paper. Why he insisted on getting his news there Keiko had no idea, she had given up on trying to get him to use news apps years ago.

"When did you get in last night Dad?" Keiko asked as she cleaned up the mess she made making breakfast, pouring herself her own cup of coffee.

"Don't know. Naomasa and I are looking into the odd movement of villains lately," her dad said. Her dad Ryusuke Omori was a detective and was partners with Naomasa Tsukauchi and had been for years he was basically a part of the family. "It's nothing for you to worry about though," he said, turning another page in the paper.

Keiko glanced up to the clock and downed her coffee. She was gonna be late if she didn't hurry. She grabbed her sketchbook which on the once blank page had a very detailed sketch of the two-tailed cat. She kissed her father's cheek and ruffled her brother's hair who tried to smack her hand. Keiko slung her satchel over her shoulder and took off out the door.

Keiko let out a heavy breath as she made it to the gates of UA. She steadied herself as she entered the Number One hero school of Japan. She could barely believe it if she did well she would be attending this school soon. She clutched a hand over her chest, steeling her nerves and promptly bumped into what felt like a brick wall.

She looked up and found herself staring into a pair of angry red eyes. Before Keiko could apologize the boy was yelling at her. "WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING EXTRA!" The boy turned stomping away entering UA's auditorium.

"Angry hedgehog," Keiko muttered to herself as she picked up her sketchbook she hadn't realized she dropped. She looked around and saw people staring at her. Keiko ducked her head allowing her hair to cover her face and made her way into the auditorium. She found a seat near the front of the room.

The room was soon filled to capacity and the Pro-Hero Present Mic welcomed them and explained the practical entrance test. Apparently they would have to smash up a bunch of robots and try to get as many points as they could in ten minutes. She already had some ideas and pulled out her sketchbook to make a couple of drawings.

She wasn't really paying attention and was brought out of her thoughts when she felt the hot spotlight on her. Keiko looked up in confusion and heard someone shouting behind her. "And you down there show some respect and pay attention!"

Keiko looked behind her and there was a serious looking boy standing and chopping his hand down at her. All around her potential students began to laugh and Keiko thought her face had caught fire. Embarrassed, she hid herself behind her sketchbook.

The laughter died down and Present Mic dismissed them to prepare to go to their respective battle zones.

Keiko stretched trying to calm her racing heart as she waited with the other assembled students of her battle center. She didn't recognize any of them, they must have separated the students in a way that people from the same middle school didn't work together. She picked her sketchbook from the ground and clutched it to her chest.

Keiko had to put in a request a few weeks ago to bring it with her into the battle center. She smiled at the memory of the office aide who had put in her request, his stupefied face when all she wanted to bring was her sketchbook and pen was funny. He must have not looked into her file.

The giant doors to the battle center opened and Present Mic yelled. "GO!" from the observation tower. None of the students moved, including Keiko. "What are you waiting for?! There's no countdowns in real life!" The students around Keiko started sprinting into the city and she was soon left alone. Keiko smiled and flipped to the page she wanted.

"C'mon out Tori," Keiko said and a hawk emerged from the pages growing until it was the size of a minivan. Keiko hopped onto Tori's back. "Let's find some bots." The giant bird took off with a single flap of its wings.

"Quite the group of prospects we have this year. Right Principle Nezu?" A black haired woman said.

"You are right, Midnight," said a large white rat. "Some of these students have some remarkable combat ability." Nezu watched as the screen pulled up a video of an ash blonde boy decimating the robots with his explosive palms.

"Who's that?" Asked a tired voice belonging to a shaggy man standing in the corner of the room. He was pointing to a screen that showed Keiko riding Tori as the giant bird destroyed the robots, her talons slicing through steel like butter and when a group of the bot surrounded them Tori flapped her wings and out came a torrent of wind blades leaving the robots in pieces.

"Oh, taking an interest in someone, Shota," Midnight said in a teasing tone.

"Quiet Nemuri. Where'd that bird come from?" The shaggy man asked.

"She made it," Principal Nezu said, bringing up a bio on one of the empty screens. "Keiko Omori. Quirk Illustration anything she draws she can bring to life. Only limit is her imagination. Though she is prone to migraine according to her medical report."

Everyone else in the room looked at the screen with large eyes. All were dumbfounded by the sheer potential of this girl.

"I think it's time for the real test," Principal Nezu said with an evil smirk on his face. "Release the Zero-pointers."

Keiko was crouching on the back of Tori staring down at all the destroyed robots. She heard Present Mic's shout of, two minutes remaining and was about to order Tori to fly higher to find more robots. There was a large crash and the sound of glass shattering filled the air.

Keiko turned and down the street a group of examinees were running and screaming back towards the entrance. "It's the Zero-pointer. Run!" One of the runners said.

Looking back to where they were running from there was a robot taller than all the buildings around it.

"Help!"

Keiko glanced down from staring transfixed by the Zero-pointer. Laying on the ground not far in front of the giant robot was a girl with orange hair in a side ponytail. From what she could see the girl's leg was bent in a weird way. Probably broken, Keiko thought.

"Be gentle Tori," Keiko told the bird and with that the bird entered a dive straight towards the injured girl. A soft cushion of air surrounded Tori's talons and she plucked the girl from ground making the girl scream in not a little fear.

"It's ok!" Keiko called to the girl but the girl probably couldn't hear her over the wind or the screams.

"Time's up," Present Mic called and Keiko had Tori set the orange hair girl down near the entrance.

Keiko jumped off the bird and kneeled down by the girl who had finally stopped screaming but was looking at the giant bird with some fear. Keiko frowned at the girl, but stopped and tried to reassure the girl that everything was fine. "It's okay. That's just Tori," Keiko said, giving the girl a reserved smile.

That seemed to calm the girl some, but she still eyed the giant bird warily. "I'll go see if there's any medics," Keiko said to the girl, stepping away and gesturing for Tori to follow.

Keiko brought out her Sketchbook from her jacket and opened it to a page that had a tree with an empty branch that looked like a perfect perch. "You did good, Tori. Thank you," Keiko said, patting the bird's neck. Tori puffed out her chest preening under the attention. "Get some rest 'kay."

The giant bird nuzzled Keiko's hair, making her release a soft laugh. Tori shrunk and flew into the page. Now on the empty branch was a Tori now the size of a normal hawk her head tilted down sleeping. Keiko ran her hand affectionately over the page before closing the book.

"That was quite the bird dear." Keiko nearly jumped out her skin at the voice. She turned looking down and there was an old lady leaning on a big syringe like a cane.

"Thanks," Keiko said, rubbing at her temples. Now that Tori was away she was getting a headache.

"Here dear, these will help," the old lady said and handed Keiko a handful of gummies.

"Thanks again," she said, bowing her head to the woman. "There's a girl over there I think her leg might be broken," Keiko said remembering the orange haired girl she saved.

Keiko watched as the old woman went to the girl and her lips extended in a kiss. Keiko was able to recognize her now. The old woman was, Recovery Girl.

Keiko watched as the girl she had saved finally relaxed, smiling up to the old hero. Keiko gripped her sketchbook tightly holding it to her chest. She turned around and walked out of the fake city not bothering to give the others a glance.

Keiko made it home just as the sun was setting. Her home was completely vacant. Ren had gone to stay with a friend that afternoon for a sleepover and her parents were at work as always. She was surprised she had actually seen her father that morning.

Keiko took her shoes off by the door and glanced into the kitchen to see a mess in the sink. At least Mom ate something here before going to work. She sighed. Keiko knew she was gonna need to clean that up but was too tired and her head hurt too bad to muster the energy to do it. She climbed up the stairs and went into her room, setting her bag on her desk chair and placing her sketchbook on her drawing desk.

Keiko curled up in bed looking out her bedroom window to the setting sun. Her head was throbbing the gummies she ate, not helping in the least. The orange sky reminded her of the girl she and Tori saved. The same girl who looked at Tori in fear. It's always fear. Her father even though it was a joke hit the nail on the head that morning. Demon. That's what most saw when her friends came out of her book.

As if sensing her thoughts the book on her desk opened pages fluttering in a non-existent wind. The pages stopped and out of the book climbed Neko. Neko jumped from the desk to Keiko's bed, coming to curl up in her arms.

She always knows when I'm lonely, Keiko thought. She rubbed her face into the cat's soft fur. Neko's two tails came around to tickle Keiko's cheeks making her giggle. Keiko tightened her arms around the cat and allowed her mind to clear. Her headache receded as she drifted off into a peaceful sleep.

The week after the entrance exam went by in a haze of anticipation for Keiko. She wasn't really too worried about getting in, but you never know for sure. She was coming back home from dropping Ren off at another sleepover. He sure is popular, Keiko thought to herself smiling lightly glad he found a good group of friends.

Keiko saw a thick envelope resting on the doorstep of her house and eagerly picked it up. The envelope was emblazoned with UA's seal and Keiko had to resist the urge to jump in excitement. She almost dropped the keys as she unlocked the door shutting the door she ran up the stairs and slammed her door shut tossing her bag on her bed.

Keiko sat down and tore open the envelope. Out of it fell a small metal disk and it projected a holographic screen. To her shock on the screen was All Might in a suit.

"Hello, Young Omori. I bet you're wondering why I am here," All Might said and without thinking Keiko nodded as if he could see her.

"I will begin teaching at UA this year," All Might said, his smile somehow widening more. "And I must congratulate you. You passed the practical with flying colors and your written exam was pretty good as well. Now for your score in the practical." As he said this next to him came up a scorecard with her name. Under a column labeled villain points was thirty-six.

"A very respectable score Young Omori, but that isn't all there's another set of points. These are called rescue points as you can guess these are points based on heroic acts," All Might said and next to the villain points column came one that read rescue points. In this column Keiko had forty bringing her score to a total of seventy-six.

Beside All Might the screen changed again to show class standings and her name was in second place behind someone named Katsuki Bakugo who managed to get first place with only villain points. He must be really strong, Keiko thought and was brought out of her musings when she heard All Might laughing.

"Yes you did very well, Young Omori. I welcome you to your hero academia," All Might said before laughing again and the screen disappeared.

Keiko smiled to herself and patted her sketchbook. She was just getting started. She couldn't wait to see where she and friends would go from here.
