Chapter 1: Naruto Uzumaki's rhapsody.

An afternoon of abundant calm took over the Hidden Leaf Village. Everything was so calm that it seemed as if the village had not experienced any kind of calamity. Well, anyone who thought that, would be wrong. 12 years ago, the Hidden Leaf Village experienced an unprecedented tragedy. One that was marked in history, and in the memory of those who witnessed it. Thousands of people, ninjas and civilians, and animals were killed in a single night. Screams of despair from survivors who lost their loved ones could be heard far and wide. Destroyed homes, lost possessions, ruined properties. All this because of the terrible Nine-Tailed Fox. The shinobi tried everything they could, but none of them had the power to defeat the creature. Only a single man could do it. He was known as the "Fourth Hokage". His solution was to seal the creature in a newborn child, losing his life in the process. Said child was called Naruto Uzumaki. This event marked the boy's life, who was ostracized and prejudiced by everyone in the village, as no one wanted to be close to the monster that took his friends and family. The boy did not conform at all with the treatment he received from everyone, so he did everything to change that. At one point, he made it his goal to become a Hokage, one that surpassed all before him. He's been through a lot since becoming a ninja. He was placed in Team Seven, along with Sakura Haruno and Sasuke Uchiha, led by Kakashi Hatake. At first they didn't get along, but eventually they became more willing to cooperate with each other. And in that, a bond of closeness was born between them. Each of them had their own goal, and the big goal of one of them was responsible for ending the closeness they had. Sasuke was the last of his clan, the well-known Uchiha clan. That's because his older brother, Itachi, wiped out the entire clan in a single night, leaving only Sasuke. Conflicting feelings formed in the young Uchiha. He, who was previously a cheerful boy who wanted recognition from his father and older brother, became a cold and distant boy. He made it his great goal to kill his brother Itachi, and thereby avenge his family. The time he spent with team seven made him momentarily forget about that goal. But then Itachi returned to the village, bringing with him the memories of that fateful night. That painful reunion reignites the desire for revenge within Sasuke, with more force than before. So he decided to leave the village and join Orochimaru to get enough power to kill his brother. This choice led him to clash with his teammates, especially Naruto. The same did not conform with Sasuke being indifferent to the risk that his fellow genins, Shikamaru, Chouji, Kiba, Neji and Rock Lee took to save him from the group sent by Orochimaru to take Sasuke to him. The two clashed intensely. In the end Naruto couldn't make Sasuke give up joining Orochimaru, or defeat him. He had promised Sakura he would take Sasuke back to the village, but he had failed. At this very moment he was at the top of the stairs in his house, looking down the street, not really paying attention. Then he sees Sakura, walking down that same street. His eyes grew melancholy watching her walk, as he remembered their last interaction.

- We need to go after Sasuke! Don't you understand that?!

Sakura yelled angrily at Naruto, who had an annoyed look on his face, not wanting to meet her eyes.

- Sakura, I already told you. Now there's no use going after him. He willingly abandoned us.

Naruto said in a calm but slightly rough voice. His gaze hardened as he said the last part.

- How can you say that? He is your friend! He is our teammate. We have to save him! This is not right!

- And you think it was right for him to simply step on the sacrifice of our friends?! Who risked their lives to save him?!

Naruto finally turned to look her in the eye, raising his voice a little, clearly annoyed. Sakura held her voice, not knowing how to respond. She then gritted her teeth, and Naruto continued:

- Chouji... Neji... Kiba... Shikamaru... and Bushy brows... They all risked themselves for Sasuke, and he despised them. He was able to turn his back and walk away like it was nothing. You don't care about that?!

Sakura was silent, her voice stuck in her throat, for a while. Then she said quietly, but with a tense tone.

- Sasuke didn't have a normal childhood. The pain he carries is enormous. He need help.

- I know that very well. I want to save Sasuke. But right now, I'm not ready to go after him. None of us are.

Naruto said calmly, but Sakura's gaze turned cold.

- Liar. You made a promise and you don't mind keeping it. As always, you only care about yourself.

After saying those words, in a voice filled with intensity, she angrily turned to leave.

- I never said I would give up on Sasuke, but I need some time. You can not understand? What am I for you?

Naruto said trying hard to keep his voice natural, but it came out with a slightly hurt tone. His eyes were filled with hurt and resentment. Sakura stopped in her step, but didn't turn around.

- It's okay Naruto. You can have your comfort time. I go after Sasuke. Even without your help. But...

Then she turned to face him. His look was one of rancor and contempt. One that Naruto has never seen before in her.

-...Never again... say you never go back on your word. If you really care about others. Because it's a lie.

Upon saying those words, Sakura followed her course. Naruto was devastated watching her go.

Naruto watched Sakura disappear around a corner as memories of that last conversation faded. At that time, She had suggested asking the Fifth Hokage, Tsunade Senju, to let them go after Sasuke. But he was against that idea, and so that discussion took place. Naruto let out a sigh, and looked at the Hokage Monument, and then reflected:

"Even though I'm trying so hard, whenever I make any progress, it all falls apart."

He was once again reminded of the look Sakura gave him before she left, before he continued to be lost in thought.

"Everyone keeps looking at me like that. After all, could I really change anything?"

His eyes filled with anxiety and anticipation.

"I just want a place where nobody knows I'm the host of the Nine-Tails, a place where nobody looks at me like I'm not somebody, a place where I can be accepted."

Hello. Sorry for the delay in posting this first new chapter. I needed time to plan the story well. I'm not sure how well this turned out compared to before, but I hope you like it. Thanks for reading.
