The Last Ranger

Chapter 8: Ranger School's What Happened To Them?

Demiyah woke up one weekend to see a stack of files on her desk. It was reports of the last time that Ranger Schools were open. That was from three hundred years ago. So she knew her day would be filled with the investigation.

Demiyah went down to breakfast as Izuku asked, "What are those files for Miya?" Demiyah said, "Their the reports for what happened to the Ranger Schools. With the Z-Wave babies, the modern Quirk Laws shouldn't exist. Same with magic users. Something is going on behind the scenes. And I don't like it one bit." Touya asked, "Is there anything we can do to help?" Demiyah thought for a moment, "Well, could you get me a list of Hero Schools and when they opened? If I'm right then the former commision has a lot to answer for." Bakugo walked in a look of rage on his face. "Demiyah, your going to want to see this." He handed Demiyah a printed article that was from the news around the time Shiketsu High opened up. After scanning the article she screamed, "Are you fucking kidding me?!" Daniel asked, "Miya what's wrong?"

Demiyah seethed, "What's wrong? What's wrong? THose Commission bastards took the campuses of the various branches of Silver Guardians Academy and started using them as training facilities for child soldiers! What ones they weren't able to convert like that they turned into 'Hero Schools' and breaking every international law set in place. So now, we have to find the other Ranger teams and fast. Because their setting their sights on the Alpha Operations buildings. Including the main one in Stone Canyon where the teleporter pads are that lead to our main research facility on Venus Island!" Momo said worried, "That's bad isn't it?" Demiyah nodded, "Incredibly bad. Since Venus Island also has the transportal devices and Dimensional Gateway that allow travel to other worlds. Plus the database of the Outside Worlds. Something we have to keep a secret as Rangers. It's part of our oath's to protect the Universe." Izuku said, "So what are we waiting for? Let's grab our gear and look for the other teams! Where would we start?" Demiyah said, "First stop, Angel Grove, California. Pack up, we're taking the Astro Megaship. I'll inform the teachers."

Demiyah walked into the teachers lounge and informed them of what Bakugo found. All Might, Present Mic, and even Shirakumo offered to accompany them and act as general tutors to keep their educations up. Everyone had their bags ready when they saw Hawks walk up a few suitcases in hand. At the unasked question Hawks said, "I was taken from my mother and trained in one of those facilities. Never had a chance to be a kid. If bringing back the Rangers and the actual heroes from before is what it takes to finally have a normal life then I'll help any way I can. Tokiyami informed me of what happened." Fuyumi offered her aid along with Rei and Natsuo offering their help. Demiyah said, "At least my ship has the space." Demiyah activated her morpher and said into it, "Astro Megaship, Online!" A large blue ship flew above them. Before landing in the center of the campus. Everyone boarded but not before the ship was fully supplied including multiple coffee pots and a full on kitchen complete with stocked pantries. Demiyah sat in the captain's seat as they flew.

She said after an hour, "DECA, activate Autopilot. Set course for Angel Grove." A voice over the intercoms said, "Autopilot engaged. Course set. And may I say, it is wonderful to hear your voice again Demiyah." Demiyah smiled, "Thank you DECA." DECA said, "Your welcome." As they flew Jiro asked, "Got any tunes to play while we're just flying?" Demiyah snorted, "My entire flying playlist is either Sea Shanties, Country songs, or funny songs that wouldn't be out of place in an american Junior High School dance." Sero asked incredelous, "Seriously?" Demiyah laughed, "You betcha. DECA play Santiana." A familiar song started playing.

Demiyah: Oh Santiana gained a day

Jiro asked in an amused tone, "What is it with you and Sea Shanties anyhow?" Demiyah laughed, "Aside from the fact I'm a Sailor Scout? Uncle Donald is a discharged Naval Officer. So I picked up my love of Sea Shanties from him."

A couple hours later DECA said, "Angel Grove in sight. Landing in ten minutes." Demiyah took one look at the Angel Grove Cityscape and started to cry. Angel Grove had been as much her home as Reefside was. To see it barely resembled what it used to be, it hurt. It terrified her to see what Reefside looked like. But she knew it would be a little while before that happened. First they had to establish the fact that the Rangers were in fact alive. Since the Teams from Mighty Morphing to Dino Fury were established to still be alive, along with their allies and their families. Which meant until their deaths were properly confirmed their accounts were just accumulating interest and taxes were taken out once a year. Demiyah was just glad that the Juice Bar and the Surf Spot were still standing. She decided to go into the Juice Bar for old times sake. The others following her in. When she sat down at the bar she said, "Could I get a grilled chicken sandwhich, with american cheese, light mayo, fries, and a strawberry chocolate shake please?" An all too familiar voice said, "Sure thing kiddo. Did you want the white chocolate raspberry cake too?" Demiyah looked up and asked shocked, "Uncle Ernie?! How are you still..." Ernie chuckled, "How am I still alive? Well you can blame that pretty little bauble you own. During your fight with Chaos when you were nine, you unleashed a wave of light. This light touched several people connected to the Rangers but not directly working with them. This light gave them a similar immortality to what you and unaging unless they chose to die." Demiyah just hugged the man. Tears that she supressed breaking loose. A trio of voices said, "What's with the waterworks?" Demiyah's head snapped up and she said, "Uncle Bulk, Uncle Skull, Cousin Spike?" Bulk, Skull, and Spike hugged her while even more tears fell. Bulk asked, "What will you do when things are back to how they used to be with the government out of power with those powers. Contrary to what the Japanese Hero Commission says only about 19 percent of the World have Quirks. Most with powers are Mutants, Metahumans, or Z-Wave babies with a few more magicals but even then that only covers about 30 percent of the population." Demiyah said, "That 70 percent are treated as second class citizens for not having a power or any sort of powers. I haven't decided yet. We need to take down All for One and find the Rangers plus their allies first. Then we have to deal with the various governments." Skull said, "I know you hate having to deal with politicians." Demiyah groaned, "I consider it practice for the future. Since I am destined to revive my Kingdom and rule it and this planet with Eijirou apparently."

After getting some lunch the group trekked out to the moutains. Demiyah remembered the last time she was there. Long before the cryostasis.

flashback

Fifteen year old Demiyah looked around in awe. She recalled her parents stating that after Countdown the Rangers who held the Great Power pooled said power to restore the city and it even rebuilt the Command Center. They got the US Government to state that no president could order it torn down. Same with no politician. As it was to be a place the Rangers could remember their fallen comrades. Since then in the lower levels inside the Power Chamber were portraits of the Rangers. Each team had their own room and Section. Some recieved rooms for themselves. Those who cared for certain Rangers could leave gifts or offerings but the person themselves had to have good intentions. Demiyah was stunned when she said, "That's Strelitzia the Pink Strato Force Ranger. She...was my previous incarnation. How is she so popular among the other Rangers." Andros chuckled, "Knowing that, I'm not surprised little Moon. Back when I was a rookie Ranger, the previous Blue Space Ranger who happened to be the one who recruited both myself and Zhane told me Strelitzia fell doing what Rangers did best fighting for a better future for her home and loved ones. Since then, she had been considered a Guardian Angel of sorts for the Rangers." Demiyah was still stunned to have a protrait of her current incarnation right next to her second life."

end flashback

Demiyah wondered, "Now if I were a cryostasis room, where would I be?" She reached out to touch the empty energy tube that once held Zordon. When there was a bright glow from the electodes on the sides. The electricity formed a familiar floating head. Demiyah asked wide eyed, "Zordon? Is that really you?" The head smiled, "It is indeed I Demiyah. I have watched you since you awoke. You have carried on the Legacy wonderfully. You must combine the Seven Coins powers to awaken the others. However Tommy and Kimberly are not here. They are with the last team they served with. Go now children and Heroes. And may the Power protect you."

Demiyah walked down the halls and saw the Power Chamber. She felt the Rangers. Each ember of the Power. "I can feel them, follow me." The group entered a room and saw all but Demiyah's adoptive parents. Tenya asked, "How do we wake them up?" Demiyah said, "The Power Coins. Tenya, Momo, Ochako, Katsuki, Daniel, Izuku, and Eijirou have to merge the energies of their Power Coins." Eijirou and the other six mentioned stepped up. "Okay here we go. We call on the Powers of All those combined. Tyrannosaurus!"

"Mastodon!"

"Dragonzord!"

"Sabertooth Tiger!"

"Triceratops!"

"Tigerzord!"

"Pteradactyl!"

Red, Black, Yellow, Blue, Pink, White, and Green energy left the Coins and the chambers glowed before they opened revealing the Rangers. Jason Lee Scott groaned and asked, "Where are we?" Demiyah said, "Your in the Power Chamber in one of the back rooms Uncle Jason. We have a huge battle before us. It makes Lord Drakkon seem like a Putty Patroller." Jason and the others paled. Rocky said, "Well it stands to reason we'll stand with you."

When the others had a tearful reunion with Zordon, Demiyah was typing on her Data Computer. She looked to her group. "Our next stop since we awakened the Mighty Morphin, Zeo, Turbo, and Space Rangers is Mirinoi for the Lost Galazy Rangers. After that is Aquitar for the Alien Rangers. then back to Earth. I'll give you guys the rundown for each city we go to. You already knew about Angel Grove. But I'll explain as we go along." The teen Rangers knew they wouldn't see UA High for some time. But in the long run, it was for the safety of the whole Universe.

While flying through Space Mina said, "I always wanted to see space and meet aliens when I was a kid. But seeing this now while we're gathering allies for a war, it makes me feel so small. Does that make sense?" Demiyah said, "Makes perfect sense to me. I felt the same way many times. It didn't really hit how big the Unvierse really was until I was fourteen and I fought in a war against an evil zombie alien emperor and his zombie witch of a wife. Trust me, in comparison we're microscopic to the wider Universe. But if I'm being honest one single Ranger, a lone person could be the very thing that tips the scale between defeat and victory."
