Decided to make some major changes starting over!

Chapter 1

Leah had heard of Wolfram and Hart, aware of what it was. They had been under investigation due to some people who said they were evil. There were things she was well aware of that she neglected to tell anyone. Spike was one of them being one of the eldest living vampires around. They've known each other for a while, together they went drinking when she had some time. Their first encounter wasn't so pleasant until they got to know one another.

She is a slayer well aware of what she was capable of being very good at hiding it. Slayers were rare now a days most were killed off by random vampires or demons.

Leah pulled back her dark hair long hair getting it out of her face in the bathroom already at Wolfrum and Hart law firm. She headed to the office making her way past people going up to the elevator making it to the second floor, she walked out seeing a girl with blonde hair. "Detective Sullivan, need to talk to your head guy," she held her badge up.

She nodded going into his office then came out. "He will see you just go right in," she lead her in the office. Leah recognized Spike then noticed the tall guy with brown hair and brown eyes. "Can I help you?"

"Look, I'm not too familiar on what's going on here. They just threw me on this, you guys are under investigation because people said you were evil or have evil spirits here," Leah read her text on her phone.

"Guess they sent someone new, the last policemen wasn't too pleasant. I'm Angel and that is Spike," he introduced them. Leah nodded at Spike knowing him.

"You know her?" Angel questioned him looking in between them noticing how they were looking at each other.

"I've run into her quite a few times, I don't just sit here watching you mope about. I go out and do things," Spike replied.

Spike knew he was in love with her, it had been quite some time since he had felt anything for anyone. Buffy was the last person he could remember being in love with. As time passed, he got over her, realizing he was wasting his time over someone that didn't want him. She caught him by surprise after learning she was a cop. Her looks made him think differently. To him, she just didn't look like law enforcement material.

Leah respected him and didn't turn him away because he was a vampire. Spike appreciated the fact that she treated him like a human fought him once and was impressed on how strong he was compared to the other vampires. They let their curiosity take hold and fought him. She went easy on him enough not to suspect anything.

"You think these guys are going to sue or press charges?" She asked Angel.

"I got the lawyers involved, we have protection for this company," Angel assured her.

"You're a vampire," Leah was able to figure it out.

"Yeah, how did you figure it out?"

"Instinct and we've had our runs with them. Spike, I got the night off need a beer?" She asked him.

"I'll meet you there pet," he looked at her.

"It will be dark here in a couple of hours. I will see what I can do. I'm almost off and got to head out nice to meet you Angel," she said getting up leaving the office.

Leah headed home changing into some more relaxed clothes. She thought it would be nice for once to wear normal decent clothes at the bar. Time quickly passed, so she left her place heading up there. When she arrived, she ordered a couple of beers waiting on Spike. Then he appeared behind her as she handed him one. They found a round table to sit at and talk.

"You know I never bothered to tell the police department about vampires and demons. There's no point they would laugh at me. I think the law is oblivious to what else is out there," she explained sipping her beer.

"I'm surprised, I thought the police would already know."

"Nope, even if they did they would cover it up as it was an idiot in a costume." Spike snickered at that a little. He kept his eyes on her watching her. She was beautiful with her blue eyes and long dark hair. It was nice to see her in regular clothes for once.

"Mind if we join you?" She heard Angel's voice.

She nodded letting Angel sit with them. "Spike mentioned something that you have known him for decades. She looked at Angel.

"Yeah, well it wasn't for any good circumstances, I did so many bad things and got cursed with a soul. Any true happiness I turn bad," Angel explained.

"It makes sense why I've seen the things I've seen around here. What about you Spike?" Leah asked him.

"Vampires don't have souls but I fought for mine and got one. Sometimes I wonder if it was worth it," he sighed.

"Soul as in?"

"Having a conscience of knowing what's right or wrong and self-loathing having a reason feeling bad about yourself." Spike explained.

"What were you like back then?" Leah asked interested.

"A struggling poet, William Pratt, a man who was fixated with the idea of love." Spike explained.

"Things were different back then," Angel looked at her.

"Look, I know this is kinda off the record but I heard slayers were killed off. Well most of them I kinda keep up with the unknown," Leah said bringing the subject up.

"The whole slayer council was wiped out. There are only a handful left spread out," Wes said remembering.

"Not all of them," She said sipping her beer.

Leah looked down at her phone seeing it go off getting a text from her brother. "Dammit," she cursed at her phone.

"On call?" Angel asked her.

"My brother is here, his military base hangs out here. He just said he is here and he sees me sitting with you guys," Leah put her phone in her pocket.

A guy with military gear walked up to their table. "Ok, finally see my sister hanging out with guys and normal," he replied.

"Guys, this is Derek my brother. This is Angel and Spike," she introduced them.

Both men said hi to him. "So which one?" Derek questioned her.

"You got a sick mind, I'm just hanging out." Derek was more of a talker getting to know Angel more. Leah just sat there shaking her head at him. Spike couldn't help that he developed feelings for her. She wasn't like Buffy and knowing that he was a vampire didn't phase her. Leah treated him like every one else which stood out the most to him.

"I'm not sure about you but I'm heading out," Leah said finishing her beer.

Spike got up walking her out to see that she would be safe. He walked her home and Leah had him come in with her. Her place was huge with a kitchen and a lot of space with a flat screen television. "I never seemed to forget how big your place is." Spike said looking around remembering he had been there before.

"I've known you for a couple of years now. I trust you enough to be in my house."

"I appreciate you being so nice you treat me like I'm a human and helped me out when I didn't expect it." he said nicely.

Spike started to leave and Leah put her hand on his shoulder. "Will you stay? I feel comfortable with someone here and you have somewhere to rest."

Spike could understand that maybe she was lonely. He could relate after the whole incident with Buffy didn't work out that he was lonely too. "I'll stay." He took a step closer to her remembering he had done this before with Buffy hoping this could be turning into something more.
