"How would you like a glass of the best apple cider you've ever tasted?"
"Got anything stronger?"
Emma has just been coerced into driving to this weird town that her long lost son is from, and his adoptive mother just so happens to be the mayor? Right, because who else would it be? Luckily, she's quite attractive, but seems a little possessive over the kid. Emma decided to follow the brunette woman anyway into the massive white house. May as well have been The White House.
When Regina saw Emma, she was taken aback. One, because there was someone new in town, finally, and two, she was beautiful. Regina wanted to be cordial and invite her in for drink just to see if she could figure out more about this new person. She felt as though the blonde looked familiar but couldn't put her finger on it.
As they walked through the front door, Emma was surprised at how big the inside looked and was taking it all in. Regina brushed passed her to go to, what is assumed the kitchen, and came back seconds later with two glasses in one hand. Impressive, Emma thought. Regina glided to the little bar under a picture of seashells and started to pour the drinks. Emma couldn't help but look the woman up and down and admire how the grey dress perfectly fit her form.
"How'd he find me?" Emma broke the silence.
"No idea," Regina answered focusing on pouring, "when I adopted him he was only three weeks old. Records were sealed and I was told the birth mother didn't want to have any contact"
Emma sulked a little, regretting that decision only now in this moment, "You were told right."
"And the father?" Regina cut her off.
"There was one."
"Do I need to be worried about him?"
"Nope," Emma snapped back, "doesn't even know about him."
Regina was now finishing the drinks and finally walked over to Emma handing her a drink focusing her gaze on Emma's green eyes, "do I need to worry about you, Miss Swan?"
Emma's face turned a bit red. Was she flustered? Angry? Hot? She couldn't tell. She'd never been the one not in charge of the conversation. Somehow the Mayor was able to take her breath away with barely doing anything. Regina was so close to her in the door way for someone who just met her.
"Absolutely not," Emma took a drink.
"Madam Mayor!" the sheriff interrupted.
Emma had forgotten he was there and hearing him startled her a little bit.
"You can relax. Other than being a tired little boy, Henry's fine" he says strutting down the stairs as if he owns the place.
Emma noticed he seemed very comfortable walking down those steps but thought it was just him being a sheriff until Regina answered.
"Thank you, Sheriff," in a higher pitched voice as if she was trying to impress him.
Emma was confused and concerned. The sheriff saw himself out though, leaving the two women in the door way. Emma went to take another drink when Regina walked off. Startled, Emma followed the woman.
"I'm sorry he dragged you out of your life! I really don't know what's gotten into him," Regina opened the door to what looked like a study or a small library. Emma followed her in and Regina shut the door behind them.
"Kid's having a rough time… Happens" Emma responded.
"You have to understand. Ever since I've became mayor, balancing things have been tricky," Regina said standing up for herself. "You have a job, I assume?" she quickly changed the subject.
Emma was now sitting on the couch taking another drink, but her eyes were following Regina and her figure everywhere. She nodded at Regina's assumption, "uh, I keep busy I- yeah," finally setting her half full glass next to a bowl of perfectly placed apples, they almost looked fake.
Regina walked herself to the chair in front of Emma and sat down, "imagine having another one on top of it. That's being a single mom, so I push forward," Regina also places her glass down, but more eloquently than the blonde, "Am I strict? I suppose, but I do it for his own good."
Emma was simply just staring at Regina taking in every look, gesture, move, observing her. How can someone be so… pretty? She thought. Emma had to keep herself from falling into her eyes and shutting out the words that were coming out of the brunette's mouth. Her mouth. It's so perfectly lined with lipstick and moving so gently with the words being spoken. The words! Emma brought herself back to reality.
"I want Henry to excel in life. I don't think that makes me evil, do you?" Regina finished meeting the eyes of Emma, finally truly looking at her. Regina was trying to avoid looking at the blonde because she also found her so encapsulating. Was it her eyes? Her physique? Her lips? Who knows, but Regina knew that once that door was opened, there was no going back. She wanted to keep her poise because she had just met her and Regina wasn't one for a one night stand.
"I'm… sure he's just saying that because of the fairy tale thing," Emma reassured her trying to act as if she wasn't just sweating thinking about the mayor in a non-mayor way.
"What fairy tale thing?" Regina said knowing exactly what she was talking about.
"Oh you know, his book! How he thinks everyone is a cartoon character from it," Emma was sure Henry had told her about it. Why wouldn't he? "Like his shrink is Jiminy Cricket!"
Regina was still playing dumb, "I'm sorry, I really have no idea what you're talking about."
Emma was embarrassed. She sounds crazy, the damn kid put lies in her head. Now she looks stupid in front of this hot woman, what else could go wrong? "You know what? It's none of my business. He's your kid and I really should be heading back," she takes one final drink and sets it down on the table.
"My cider is pretty strong and it looks like you've finished it. Will you be okay to drive, Miss Swan?" Regina was a little upset because of Henry telling this woman he doesn't know about the town's secret that only she knew, but still wanted to make sure that Emma didn't hurt herself or anyone else, driving back, "we have plenty of room for you to stay here for the night and head back tomorrow."
"Oh, I think I'll be alright," Emma said standing up but of course, lost her balance. She knew how to handle her drinks, but the mayor made her weak in the knees, so now she's even more embarrassed because she looks like a light weight.
Regina shoots up and reaches her hands out to catch her if she fell, "oh no… please, I insist!" said with a smile and little laugh. It was a genuine smile because Emma looked cute with a blushed face.
How could Emma refuse this beautiful woman, "you sure that's alright?"
"Yes, dear. And I'm sure Henry wouldn't mind either," Regina gestures to the door, "I have some pajamas I don't wear, if you'd like something more comfortable than a red leather jacket and jeans," although Regina didn't mind how the jeans looked on her, or maybe on the floor. Damn it, shut up, Regina thought to herself.
Emma walked towards the door and opened it, "Lead the way, Madam Mayor," playing into the fake drunkenness so she wouldn't feel as embarrassed about this whole thing. Regina smiled, nodded, and walked out the door as Emma followed. That's a well fitting dress, Emma thought as she was eyeing Regina's ass walking up the stairs.
Regina could feel she was looking so she was swaying a little more than usual walking up the stairs, "now, do you want the room next to mine or Henry's?"
"Oh, uhm… whichever has the softest bed."
Regina didn't answer and just led Emma through the hallway until they stopped between two doors, "wait here."
Emma obeyed as Regina opened the door to her room and Emma tried her best to peek without it being too obvious. Regina came back with no shoes and a neatly folded pile of pajamas.
"Do you prefer red or is that just a statement piece?" chuckled the brunette.
Emma scoffed, "it was on sale, but whatever you think is best."
Regina chose the dark maroon set of silk pajamas and handed them to Emma purposely brushing her hand on hers, just to see. Emma slightly blushed and Regina was right, so she smiled her toothy grin and went back in her room to put the others away.
Emma couldn't believe the power this woman had on her and it's only been twenty minutes, or thirty, who knows and who cares. Regina's hand was warm and soft from what she could tell.
The mayor came back out taking her earrings out of her ears, "this will be your room," opening the door and turning on the lights to a perfectly clean room with accents of a dusty pinky rose, "Henry and I have breakfast at 8am before he goes to school. You're more than welcome to join us. We will be having pancakes, bacon and eggs. I hope you liked scrambled," she smiled.
Emma walked into the room and set her pajamas down on the bed. She nodded at Regina. Regina leaned on the door frame with her arms crossed, smirking.
"Thank you," Emma said, "I'll let you know in the morning."
"Perfect, see you then," Regina smiled another toothy grin and closed the door. A few seconds later, Emma could hear her bedroom door close.
Emma took a sigh of relief, finally I can breathe. She turned the lamp on and the overhead light off and changed into the pajamas. They were rather comfy and slightly smelled of apples, interesting. Emma laid down in the bed and could only think about how Regina looked in that damn dress, with those smokey eyes and perfect red lips and those legs and woah, woah, woAH. Slow down hot rod. The blonde cooled herself off and drifted to sleep.
As Emma was daydreaming, Regina closed the door behind her and also changed into her pajamas. She cleaned her face and brushed her hair all while thinking of this mysterious woman, who just so happens to be Henry's birth mother and one of the hottest people she's ever seen. Regina did her nightly routine but couldn't stop thinking about the damn jeans, tight fitting see through shirt, the red leather jacket, the long blonde hair that she'd love to… woah, woah, woAH. Slow down your majesty. The brunette took longer to cool off than usual. Who was this woman? Regina eventually fell asleep, hoping to dream of Emma.
