I'm experimenting. Are you with me? I want to publish a new chapter every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday. I'll try to have a 1kword chapter. I have a very broad idea of the story, but most importantly, I know the ending scene.

Summary: Lizyel (Lizzy) is a fantastic streamer that hides her face, but her voice charms everyone who hears her. Pemdarcy (Darcy) is the best author that publishes a lot of stories but he is really private and nobody knows really who he is. Both love what the other is doing, but what happens when they really meet and secrets of more than one generation came between them? UA. Modern. Darcy/Lizzy. (There is magic and secrets in this universe)

Characters: Darcy/Lizzy, Jane/Bingley, Mr/Mrs Bennet, Uncle/Aunt Gardiner
Backstory 1 Characters: Uncle Gardiner, Mr. Bennet, Mrs. Bennet, Grandfather Gardiner, Aunt Gardiner, Collins Senior, OCs
Backstory 2 Characters: Mr. Wickham, Georgiana Darcy, Darcy, Colonel Fitzwilliam, Darcy Senior

Genre: Romance, Fantasy, Friendship

Rating: K

Author note: English is still not my maternal language. So please, excuse my errors. If you point them, I'll correct them before publishing the next chapter. If you leave a review (please, let me know what you think of that idea and how I'm writing it!) I will answer just before posting the new chapter.

I have a terrible record for doing things consistently. I want to work on that. For two weeks, my husband is not here, and after that, I will be two weeks far from home and on holiday, to see my parents. I know me, I will be writing. The idea is that, in one month, that story is close to being finished.

The global story idea is not a new one, and you can read Rpg over the internet, a short 3-part fic I already published here. I'm adding to the idea of avatars and virtual identities (that is a darling of mine) with a world much more dangerous where some nightmarish (or not) creatures live and hate others. (Why are you directly thinking to poor Mr. Wickham ^^?) The initial setup may surprises you a bit, if you can stay for the ride, everything should be explained (Lizzy is not living at Longbourn for ex.)

I also want to be able to publish each chapter without touching the previous one. That's an additional challenge, it means I need to be sure of each one of my Chekhov's guns. (If you are unfamiliar with the term it's a process of dramaturgy where the author gives details before they are used in the story, it's something I love to do, as well as playing with the expectation of the readers. You Are Warned!).

I'm imagining a streaming platform like twitch, but I'm a real newbie in following people on twitch and I never streamed at all, so I may scorch some of the rituals there. I'm saying sorry beforehand.

Note 2: It's a magical modern ( a bit futurist) UA, I hope you will stay for the ride.

Happy reading to you!

Chapter 1 ~ Lizyel streaming - Tuesday Evening - Just Chatting

Finally, my day is over. I sit in the back of my car, and Dan is driving me back home. I just want to finish that week, and we are only Tuesday. Even with my lips sealed, a sigh escapes me.

Once at home, I trace all the signs to go through the protection. I have every security money can buy, but it didn't help my father. Not even my sister. I open my palm, let a drop of blood recognizing me as its master.

The door opens. The sounds of the ai welcoming me reassures me again. Not if something else could be broken in my life. My sister is still somewhere unknown. Even if I believe she is still alive, the worry is wrecking me. It's been two months. Close to seventy days, in fact.

"Please, prepare my den." I sigh again.

It's still Tuesday. Is Lizyel streaming today? She's not always doing it. But I hope so. I need her. I need my fae's voice. Oh... I know a lot of people love her. But I know the difference. Even if she never let me see her face. She is my fae. The one destined for me, as well as I, am the one destined for her. So, yes, I really need to hear her voice. Knowing she is safe. Far from me. Living her life without worry.

Safe.

The idea I've only ever dreamed of since as far as I can remember.

"Reynolds, is Lizyel streaming today?" I ask my artificial intelligence with such envy. I don't even try to hide it, I'm the only creature at home.

"Yes, Master. Should I activate the media set up in the den?"

"Go ahead. I'm washing up a bit and I will get there. Can you read me her title?" I'm already halfway to the bathroom.

"Just Chatting, Master" the even voice answers. The best ones. I feel a bit lighter.

I can hear her voice as I enter the den. I close my eyes, and all sleepness evades me until her words enter my brain. I know the words she is speaking. I can tell the next one before she opens her mouth... How? How is it possible? Nobody ever speaks of my stories. I rush to the chatroom, and her bot is updated with the information on my ReadWrite page. I'm... blushing? A quick check to a mirror confirms it. I'm totally blushing. For her, to read my stories means a lot to me. It means she knows I exist. That she thinks what I'm doing is good enough to read at... let me see... when she has 300 viewers on her lives.

I giggle when she laughs because of the stupidity of Mark, the main character. I feel it's my new achievement, getting her to laugh in one of her lives.

With trembling hands, I steer the keyboard to me. "Why did you choose to read this story, Lizyel?". She already knows my pseudo on her stream, it's not the first time I chat with her. That's also why I prefer the "Just chatting" category. She is more approachable. She continues to read until the end of the chapter.

"This is a really good question, Liamerley. I thought I didn't catch your good evening in the chat before I begin to read, you weren't here, right?"

"Yeah, hard day. Are you trying to evade the question, Lizyel? That's not your style!" I type as quickly as I can, blood rushing to my ears. And I wait one or two minutes, so she can see it. I hate that waiting part, I'm so febrile. I just want her to speak to me, to answer me.

"No, no, of course, Liamerley. It's just that I explained at the beginning I had a very hard day today. For... personal reasons. And that my solution to make it bearable is to read some of the work of that author. Their name is Pemdarcy, it's on the ReadWrite platform, where you can easily subscribe to your favourite authors. And before you ask me: no, I don't get money for speaking of it. It's just I enjoy Pemdarcy writing and that's the only thing that can get me in a better mood. SuperBot will have all the references so you can check it up yourself. If you don't know, I can only suggest looking it up."

I'm not sure what I should do. Not answering her is bad manners, and after all, I subscribe to her channel for more than one year. Money is, after all, one of the rare things I'm never missing. That's also the reason my books are so cheap. But to know that Lizyel is reading it! I... I can't fake not knowing it. What should I answer? Can I tell her that's my pen name and I love her? Hmm, I mean, that's my pen name and she's welcome to read everything?

Is it safe?

It would go against my policy of never linking both pseudonyms. I fear if someone knows both are mine, they could get to my real identity. I have enough enemies, I don't want to give them munitions to find me, and kill me. Because that's what they want to do.

In the end, I didn't type anything more, and she just went back to reading another chapter before closing the session.

That's all gals and guys. Thanks for reading, and see you... Tuesday?
