Let's get back to a new chapter of this story, shall we? Let's see what the Rowdyruffs are up to! Anyway, enjoy!
It took a bit of adjustment, but eventually, Miss Keane had adjusted Boomer up on the couch as Brick and Butch were watching, rolling their eyes a bit. It was already getting a little late at night, and she knew the young boys would desperately need their sleep. And with Boomer having his leg all broke up, he
"Miss Keane?" Boomer inquisitively looked up as the polite woman looked down at the young boy. He paused slightly as he gave a smile. "Thanks for the, uh... well, meal. It was actually pretty good."
Brick rolled his eyes as he whispered to his brother. "That is a matter of opinion."
Butch chuckled darkly.
"Well, you're very welcome, Boomer. You just relax right here and get comfortable." Miss Keane smiled as she slowly caressed Boomer's face. The blonde haired boy was a little nervous at first, only to find himself feeling more comfortable at the woman's slight touch. It was almost like it was... motherly, in a way.
"Would this be the feeling those boys feels when they're close to their mothers?" Boomer thought to himself as he found his eyelids growing heavy. "Because if it is, maybe I... don't want to leave..."
His eyes closed gently as sleep overtook him, Miss Keane could only watch with a small smile before getting up. She then turned to Brick and Butch, who were patiently waiting. "I suppose I better show you to your cots, hm?"
"Please do." Brick said with a cocky smirk. "Please, almighty tall lady of the house, lead the way."
Butch snickered as Miss Keane chose to ignore the sarcastic comment and led them towards another small room, which didn't have much in it save for a couple bookcases filled with books, and a chair. There was also a closet at the north wall as the woman walked over and opened the door. She looked around for a couple of seconds, before reaching in and pulling out two foldable cots. Brick and Butch watched with raised eyebrows as Miss Keane hummed and unfolded each cot, before putting them down and settled each of them.
"Well, I know they're not regular beds, but hopefully this'll do?" Miss Keane smiled.
Brick frowned as he kept a sharp eye on Miss Keane. "You are one lucky woman in the fact that we'd like to hit the hay, otherwise, I would know better than to fall for this trap of yours."
"So, don't you try anything!" Butch growled in anger as he flew over and landed on the cot, a little rough on the landing as the boy yelped in almost falling, before getting his balance. Once he got his balance, Butch gave an angry growl as he pointed an accusatory hand towards the black haired teacher. "You did not see that!"
Miss Keane gave a small sigh as she went back to the closet. Brick narrowed his eyes as he sat down at the cot. "Oh, yeah, let's see how-"
She then came out, holding a couple of blankets and pillows, much to Brick's curiosity. "What are those?"
"Well, I don't want you to sleep without not being comfortable, right?" Miss Keane smiled as she walked over and gently reached over to Brick to calm him down.
The red haired boy slapped her hand before laying down. "Fine, fine, but no funny business."
Miss Keane was rather thrown off, but closed her eyes as she collected her thoughts slowly. After a brief moment, she just smiled a bit before putting the blanket over Brick and putting the pillow next to his head, causing the boy to yelp.
"H-hey!" Brick yelled a bit, before pausing as he felt the fabric of the blanket. "Huh. I will admit, not bad fabric."
Butch gave a chuckle before Miss Keane came over to him and put another blanket over Butch, surprising him. Butch looked a bit angry as he lifted his head, only for Miss Keane to cleverly slip the pillow underneath Butch's head before the green-eyed boy put his head over it... the boy looking rather surprised on how soft and fluffy it was, compared to... well, any place he tried to find a bed... and... he was starting to feel a little tired.
Miss Keane gave a giggle as she looked at the two boys, with Butch's sleepiness slowly taking over as Brick looked over at the teacher with suspicious looking eyes. "Well, I hope the both of you are comfortable, or as comfortable as can be."
"Is that what you call it?" Brick rolled his eyes.
Miss Keane sighed a little bit as she walked over to the light switch, knowing that she didn't want to risk kissing these two boys good night... they were a little TOO wary for that yet. "You both get a good night's rest, now. I'll see you all in the morning, and we can plan out something... for all of us."
"Yeah, yeah..." Brick rolled his eyes as Miss Keane turned off the light and headed out of the room. Brick frowned a bit as he laid his head on the pillow. "Fine mess WE'RE in, huh, Butch?"
Silence came over except for the quiet noise of a slight snore. Brick blinked twice as he lifted his head to see that Butch was already sound asleep. Brick could only scoff before crossing his arms. "Sleepy moron..."
Now, normally, good little boys would try to go to sleep, but while Boomer was more than comfortable sleeping, and Butch had more than tired himself out, Brick was the only person not asleep as he found himself rather bored. He had momentarily thought of leaving the room to give that lady a bit of a scare, but... he didn't feel like it. No, it wouldn't do him good to just get that woman scared. Maybe he'd try it one of those days and see her reaction...
"It's just until my dumb brother's leg gets better, then it's back to normal life!" Brick scoffed as he pushed the blanket off of him and flew up as he went over towards a nearby window and looked outside. The moon was shining brightly at the quiet night sky of Townsville, which was surprisingly not under attack for once... and if there were any robberies going on, the Powerpuff Girls would sure to be looking into it in the morning. But that didn't really matter for Brick as he opened the door and rolled his eyes. "Ugh, to be stuck here..."
"Hmmmm... it does seem like you're seemingly staying here for a lifetime, isn't it?"
Brick jumped as he held a fighting formation. "Who goes there?! Show yourself!"
"Tsk, tsk, tsk. I know we haven't spoken much since I let you go off and do your own thing, but surely, you recognize the sound of your master when you hear it." An effeminate voice sounded, causing Brick to glare closely before finally noticing a flower that was out of place from the others. That out-of-place flower shook as it suddenly bloomed, revealing a smiling devil-like face with a sinister grin.
Brick held his formation, but raised an eyebrow as he glared at the little flower. "Oh, it's you... HIM..."
"But of course." HIM chuckled darkly. "I just wanted to check up on how you boys are getting on, seeing what little petty crimes you're committing in the name of evil... and I have to say, I'm very disappointed in you."
Brick frowned as HIM's flower disappeared before transforming into a small butterfly that flew around Brick's shoulder. "I was doing some spying on the Girls to see how I could mess with them, and imagine my surprise when I overheard what you were doing with a certain lady. I mean, staying with them? Tsk, tsk. Surely, those aren't the boys I brought back from the grave."
Brick narrowed his eyes as he gave a frown. "Look, HIM, my brothers and I... we're not REALLY looking at that lady that way. We're only staying here because Boomer broke his dang leg on HER car."
"Oh?" HIM raised an eyebrow.
"Come on, HIM, you know that we were always created for evil... ever since Mojo made us in that toilet... or at least, that's what he told us..." Brick said. "Besides, my boys and I... we're sort of playing a long con with her."
"Oooohhhh..." HIM smirked. "Do tell."
Brick snickered as he said, "Since this girl feels bad for hurting Boomer, she takes him in, we go in. It's the perfect scam. Pretend to be nice for her sake, THEN when the timing is right, POW! She'll never see it coming! Her trust in us, broken! Rowdyruff Boys, conned her to the next dimension! Nobody can tame us!" Brick smirked. "And I'll be sure of that."
HIM raised an eyebrow in suspicion once again, having a strange feeling before giving a nod. "Well, if you really think this is a long con, then I'll leave you to it. Just remember who you TRULY are... you are the Rowdyruff Boys, the opposite of the Powerpuff Girls... evil is in your blood..."
Brick laughed as he gave a salute. "We won't disappoint you..."
"See that you don't..." HIM said as he morphed into his regular form and started to pinch the boy's cheeks with his lobster claws, Brick yelping in pain. "After all, I wouldn't want to see something BAD happen to you three..."
"Bad? Happen to us?" Brick laughed. "We're the Rowdyruff Boys! You made us immune to those girls's kisses, and we're like sponges to immunity! You just watch! Once the timing is right, we'll get that woman's spirits broken!"
The effeminate devil chuckled lightly as he started to disappear. "I'll be looking forward to your results... hm mm."
In a burst of fire, the devil himself was gone, leaving Brick all alone as he finally relaxed his fighting position. After looking around a moment, he gave a small chuckle to himself, until he heard a voice.
"What was that bright light?"
Brick's eyes widened before zipping forward and putting the blanket back over him as he started to shut his eyes and breathe softly. At that moment, Miss Keane quickly popped her head in the room in confusion, before noticing the boys, both of them asleep in her eyes. She gave a smile, realizing that she probably thought what she saw outside the room was an illusion, before leaving the room. Brick opened one eye, before giving a small sigh of relief.
"Well, that was too close..." Brick frowned. "But yeah, come tomorrow, it's time that I learn to 'play nice'... heh heh heh..."
The young boy then let his eyelids droop as he was starting to sleep, as the unheard narrator was heard whispering.
"Uh-oh. It would seem that things aren't going to shine too brightly for Miss Keane..."
Back in the other room, Boomer was slightly sleeping as he was getting himself comfortable, his leg slowly healing. But one slight move jolted the poor boy awake, as Boomer whimpered a bit in pain. Boomer took a slight deep breath as he rubbed the cast a bit, trying to relax it. Boomer took a few deep breaths as he tried to get back to sleep, but couldn't find himself doing so... it was right then and there that Miss Keane's cat, Valentino, noticed Boomer getting uncomfortable as he leapt from his bed and onto the couch where Boomer was relaxing. Boomer looked over as the cat laid down on the boy's body. Boomer smiled as he patted the cat's head as Valentino purred in content. It was at this moment Boomer looked over towards a picture of Miss Keane, as he noticed that it was a smiling picture of her in her teacher's outfit.
Boomer paused as he smiled at the picture as one thought came to his mind. If there was any person that could be a great mom... this Miss Keane lady could be it...
"...hmmm... or maybe not..."
And that is this chapter done! How did you guys like it? All right, next time, we'll be going into the wee hours of the morning, and having a chapter focused on Butch! Why him in particular? You'll see! Anyway, read, review, criticize and suggest, everyone!
