Happy New Year! It's now 2023 and I can't believe that. One thing I want to say is that the reason I posted a lot in December last year but not this year is because last year I had covid and had to be quarantined. So I really had nothing else to do, I might not update this one too much cause I am working on a lot of other fanfics at the moment. Well that's all I have to say!

The Louds… including Lincoln, all made their way back to the hotel. Of course Lincoln needed a little bit of guidance since he refuses to open his eyes. It would just be easier if he opened them and that's why everyone was confused. He was making this way harder on himself. But nonetheless he eventually made it with everyone else. Everyone walked in the hotel at the same time and the clerk was concerned.

"Hey is everything ok?"

"Yes, they are… we found our son", said Rita. "I don't know how but, we found him"

"Wait really? You actually found him after all this time?", asked the clerk.

"Yep, you better believe it…", added Lori.

"We will be checking out soon, we just gotta pack up a few more things and we will be out of here in the morning, is that alright?", questioned Lynn Sr.

"Yes, that's fine"

"Alright, thank you"

The Louds then began their way back to their room, with Lincoln on board… One thing that kind of confused Lincoln was why Lola wasn't there. Was she in the room? Why would she be in the room…?

The door opened.

"Hey Lola we are back!", sang Luna.

Lola came to the front of the room.

"Oh good, now we can actually le-"

Lola saw Lincoln standing there and stopped dead in her tracks.

"W-wait you… you guys found him?", asked Lola.

"Yeah! It was extremely unexpected, but we did", replied Lynn.

"Um… great"

Lola was extremely unsure about this, for some reason she felt very uncomfortable being in Lincoln's presence. She just can't get that picture out of her mind, let alone she was wondering why Lincoln kept his eyes closed.

Wait… in that picture, Lincoln's eyes were red… if Lincoln's eyes are red now (In which they are), then Lola's prediction was right.

They are all at risk of dying…

"Hey uh Lincoln… can't you open your eyes?", asked Lola.

"Uhh"

Lincoln didn't really want to answer that question, although Lucy seemed unfazed by Lincoln's eyes so maybe it would be too bad.

But then again Lucy was… Lucy… she literally loves the idea of death. She wouldn't really be creeped out by anything.

And if he said no, that would make him even more suspicious.

"Yeah dude, I'm sure your eyes aren't even that bad", added Luna. "Lucy even saw them and didn't think they were weird"

"But you know how Lucy is…"

"What's that supposed to mean?", asked Lucy.

"Well uh… I mean…"

Lincoln was shaking nervously, he was scared he messed up again.

"Hey are you ok?", asked Lori.

"Y-yeah, I'm fine, it's just…"

Lincoln was trying to think of a reason, but if he was being honest he didn't know the reason. Maybe just showing his eyes would be better. That way he wouldn't have to worry…

Lincoln sighed.

"I give up…"

"What do you mean by that?", asked Lana in fear.

"You're giving up on what?"

"I don't mean like… give up, I meant like that I had enough of trying to constantly keep my eyes closed", explained Lincoln.

"So you're gonna show us them?", asked Lynn in excitement.

"Yeah…"

Lincoln began to sweat.

It was an awkward silence, as Lincoln was still extremely hesitant. He was very nervous for the outcome of this situation.

"Are you going to show them?"

"..."

Lola was towards the back just listening to the conversation. Her face seemed like she didn't care, but deep down she was terrified. If her prediction is correct then she is going to try and avoid Lincoln like the plague.

"Lincoln…?"

Lincoln didn't answer and just stood there nervously.

"Are you gonna do it?"

Lincoln still didn't respond.

"Oh for the love of Pythagoras Lincoln… your eyes can't be that bad", scolded Lisa.

"I'm just… I'm just nervous for what you are all going to say-"

"Don't be nervous"

Lucy popped up behind him unexpectedly, spooking him in the process. And unfortunately for Lincoln… he opened his eyes. He stood there in shock as he didn't move once.

Everyone else was just stunned in silence as they looked at Lincoln's eyes.

Bright red pupils, right in the middle of his eyes. Lincoln's pupils were constricted as he was scared for his life.

"Lincoln… Why are you wearing contacts?", asked Leni.

"Leni…"

"Leni it's not… its not contacts…", exclaimed Lincoln nervously.

"They are actually your eyes!?", dismayed Leni

"Y-yeah…"

"Woah"

"Lincoln I got to admit, they are pretty cool", stated Lynn.

"Really?"

"Yeah, why were you so nervous about this?", asked Lynn.

"Well… considering the fact that you guys made fun of me for stuff like this before… I was kind of nervous you guys would, you know…"

"Do what?"

"Uh… well I was wondering if you guys would hate me for my eyes and… you would…"

Lincoln can barely speak three words when remembering that incident that happened.

A certain incident that involved "Luck"

"Lincoln we would never hate you… sure we tease you and give you a hard time… but we would never hate you", explained Lori.

Lincoln winced at that statement.

"What's wrong?"

"Um… nothing"

"Oh well, I am just so happy Linky is back", exclaimed Leni.

"We all are Leni… we all are"

Lincoln smiled, he was finally back with his family again and he was going home.

But his life was going to be drastically different, he still didn't even feel like himself.

Then he saw Lola, who just stared at him in a scared way.

"Hey Lola…"

Lola refused to say anything, instead she just ran off.

"What's up with her?", asked Lincoln.

"Who knows, maybe she is just very shocked", said Luna.

"What if she doesn't like my eyes? I mean that is very probably of Lola", stated Lincoln.

"I doubt that, she's probably just shocked at the moment", added Lisa.

"Maybe, but she seemed pretty scared", stated Lincoln.

"She could be, some people won't always think your eyes won't look menacing and scary, but just remember Lincoln… that doesn't define who you are as a person… a kind and individual 11 year old kid", explained Lori.

Lincoln liked what Lori said, but he wasn't sure.

He wasn't sure if that was true…

"Uh huh, yeah…", said Lincoln as he looked to the side.

Their opinions might change when they find out what Lincoln did, and what he could do…

"With that all out of the way… Lincoln, what did you do while you were gone?", asked Luan.

"Yeah, those phone calls barely gave us any information, did you get hurt by that lady?", asked Lynn.

"Uhm… well, uh…"

Lincoln began shaking in fear. He thought about the times he died for the first time in her fight, and then died many times in the second and much more difficult fight.

"Why were you ordering pizza?", asked Leni. "And did you bring any for us?"

"No…"

"From the time you asked Lisa a very specific question, you screamed… are you ok? What was happening?", asked Lana.

"Uhm…"

"Did you ever get hurt by the monsters?"

"What did you do?"

"Are you ok?"

All these questions were hitting Lincoln all at once and it was very overwhelming to him.

"Guys… GUYS!"

Everyone stopped asking questions.

"I-I'm, I'm Just n-not ready t-to answer any questions r-right now… But all I can say is… s-some stuff wasn't g-good", stuttered Lincoln as he was shaking in fear.

The thing he was most scared of was everyone finding out what he did and disowning him.

"O-ok well, we will give you time", said Rita

"Lincoln, can you at least tell us one thing?", asked Lana.

"Um…"

"Please?"

"Yeah, Lincoln… we are really worried about you", stated Lori.

"We just want to know if you're ok", added Luna.

"Stuff t-that's too gruesome for some people's understanding", said Lincoln.

"Gruesome?"

Lucy was now very intrigued.

"Yeah but… can we just wait until we get home… i don't want to be here any longer", exclaimed Lincoln.

"Yeah sure, it's getting late anyways… we should head to bed early", announced Rita.

While still deeply worried for Lincoln, everyone got ready to go to sleep for the night and to finally go home the next day. Lincoln was happy to be back with his family, but he felt like a part of him was still missing. He felt relieved that he was back where he belonged, but he still didn't feel like himself. All those memories he gained that aren't his… They were really messing with his head.

But besides all of that, he actually got amazing sleep that night. He didn't sleep for a long time so this night was peaceful to him and everyone else.

Except Lola… usually she is the queen of sleeping, but she couldn't sleep at all.

The picture she saw… the picture was coming true, Lola assumed that eventually Lincoln would murder the entire family. And her theory was halfway true so far, Lincoln's eyes weren't normal. There was no way in history that anyone would have eyes like that…

Right…?

The next day came hours later and everyone woke up super early, including Lincoln who got the best sleep of his life. Surprisingly he didn't have any nightmares, guess he was just that exhausted. The hotel room started to get louder and louder, until the noise was equivalent to what The Loud House always sounds like.

Lincoln really did miss this a lot, and he was glad to hear his sister's voices again. He got up, got dressed, and did all the other things you would do when you wake up for a normal school day.

"Ok, the flight is at 8:00 am, it's 7:39 now (I am legit writing this at 7:39 rn) We only have about 20 minutes to get to the airport", announced Rita.

"Fortunately I calculated the time to get there and it's only a 5 minute drive, we will make it if we leave right now", explained Lisa.

"Ok guys…. LETS GO!"

Everyone started to pile out of the door including a nervous Lincoln. The boy was just terrified of what others would say and Lynn noticed this.

"Here Lincoln, take these sunglasses I found", suggested Lynn.

"What? But it's not even sunny- oh… ok yeah I'll take them", said Lincoln as he took the glasses.

He put on the glasses that were a bit too big for his face and put them on.

Everything was dark, but at least no one could see his eyes.

Time skipped to the airport, the Louds were rushing like hell to get to the plane. Lisa miscalculated the time and left out the part where there would be traffic and red lights. So it actually took 12 minutes to get there as it was now 7:51, they were running so fast… some people couldn't keep up.

Including Lincoln…

Lincoln unexpectedly ran into this person who was on the phone and fell. The glasses fell off his face.

"Hey kid! Watch where you-:"

Then the man caught a glimpse of Lincoln's horrific eyes. Lincoln just stared back at him just as terrified.

"Oh my lord… It's the devil… Get away from me you menace to society!", shouted the man.

Lincoln was hurt.

"Hey! Don't talk about my brother like that!", yelled Lynn.

"This kid is your brother? Well then I feel bad for yo-"

Lynn gave the man such an evil stare. The man felt extremely uncomfortable and he wanted to run. Lynn threatened the man with nothing but her fists.

Then, the stranger was gone.

Lynn then went to help Lincoln up.

"Hey bro you good?", asked Lynn as she lifted Lincoln up.

"Yeah… I guess so, but-"

"I wish we could talk but we don't have time, it's 7:53 and we aren't even close to the gate", stated Lynn as she pulled Lincoln along.

Lynn and Lincoln manage to catch up with the rest of the family. They had just abandoned the sunglasses unfortunately. So people were eyeing Lincoln in weird ways. Even covering their kids' eyes.

This made Lincoln feel absolutely terrible, but he couldn't worry about that now. They were all almost at the gate, the time was 7:56 so they arrived with 4 minutes to spare.

"Yay let's go! We made it!", cheered Lana.

"That's right little sis-"

"Guys, not the time… we still have to get on the plane", said Lynn Sr.

"Oh right…"

They had already given their tickets to the lady (If this is not how getting on a plane works, forgive me… I have never been on a plane before, let alone being in an airport) and one by one they were allowed on board.

"Hey woah there, I can't let you on this plane", said the lady.

"What…? Why not?", asked Lincoln.

"I don't want you causing any trouble-"

"Oh he's with us!", shouted Rita.

"I realize that mam but unfortunately he's just not allowed on, I have to take safety precautions", exclaimed the lady.

"Ok well, he's not gonna do anything"

"Yeah, I'm not gonna do anything!"

"Well you k-"

"Don't you know that it's not ok to judge a book by its cover?", asked Rita. "As a novelist I would know that… and it's not polite to just assume, we can legally get on this plane because there are no rules that discriminate against people with eyes like my son's. Now we are going to get on this plane because I have been looking for my son for a week straight. And I'm not going to leave him here!"

Lincoln was shocked by Rita's rant, and so was the lady.

"U-uh… ok… you guys can… board", replied the flight person.

With that, Rita grabbed Lincoln by the hand and dragged him into the plane. They eventually found their seats… and continued their journey home…

They were going home.

Lincoln was going home…

4 hours, and 19 minutes later… The plan had begun to land, they were in Michigan now, their home.

They all exited the plane and had gone to find vanzilla to get the rest of the way home.

And that's exactly what they did.

The foul smell of crusty seats, the torn up carpeting in the van… Lincoln was so happy for all of it.

It was definitely a lot more comforting than the underground, even if Toriel's home looked a lot nicer.

20 minutes passed and they all had pulled up into their driveway. They piled out of the van and looked at their messy, but sweet house.

Lincoln was just awestruck. Seeing his house right in the flesh sent shivers down his spine.

This was his home… it wasn't dark and dreary like the underground. It was more vibrant than anything.

Yet… he didn't feel happy. He should be happy, but he just wasn't pleased. Something was missing… or rather, something happened that changed his perception.

"Aren't you coming dude?", asked Luna who was gesturing Lincoln to come inside the house.

"Uh- yeah just give me a second"

"Dad, do we have to unpack the van now?", complained Lola.

"Not right now I guess, but soon… you're not going to get out of it"

Lola muttered under her breath, then she saw Lincoln. Her expression had gotten even more angry and she walked off with an attitude.

Lincoln didn't see any of it, as he was still staring at the house.

"Hey Lola don't you- -sigh- Lincoln…"

Lincoln turned his attention towards his dad.

"Just come inside the house will ya?", questioned Lynn Sr.

"Yeah, I'm coming"

Lincoln walked into his house and he met his sisters who were actually waiting for him.

"Hi Lincoln!"

"Are you glad to be back?"

Lincoln wanted to say say yes, but he couldn't

He, for some reason, felt afraid… Like he almost didn't even belong back here. He just stood outside staring at his house, but his house didn't feel like HIS.

It was probably the fear of everyone finding out what exactly he did. Or exactly what happened… As well as the fact that he IS NOT himself anymore, but of course his sisters didn't know that.

From the moment his sisters started teasing him about the underground, Lincoln was not himself. He NEVER just cries like that, something terrible was happening. But he couldn't pinpoint what.

Even if he was himself there, Lincoln felt different ever since he fell underground, and that could be messing with his head. And also why he isn't as happy to see his family as he thought he would be.

Maybe he's just overthinking it…

"Um… guys?"

"Yeah?"

"Can I just have a moment to myself? I need to think about a few things", said Lincoln.

"Yeah… we can leave you be for a moment, come on guys-"

The sisters went upstairs while Rita went into her room. Lynn Sr. went to the kitchen to figure out if he should order dinner or make it.

Lincoln sighed and went to go sit on the couch, the couch… his couch.

Didn't feel like his…

He sat there trying to figure out what was wrong, and what had happened.

He was back home… but he didn't feel as good about it as he anticipated. He is thrilled to see his family again… but something just feels out of place.

It could be his eyes… it could just be his new found power of determination. Or maybe it was just his fear getting the best of him. He was deeply terrified of the consequences, and they would find out eventually. He also had to tell them everything that had happened, including the horrendous thing he did.

Oddly enough… he didn't actually remember too much from that route. Mostly just the major things, Undyne and sans… the rest started to get a little fuzzy.

He was corrupted by the LV so it would make sense if he didn't remember what happened. But if he did remember what happened that means some of his own intentions were to kill as well. Except during the sans fight when Lincoln actually remembered his true self. He remembered every detail from that. Somehow sans managed to tap into his real self and get past the LV. What if that happens in the real world but he starts murdering everyone he loves and no one can help him?

Guess that was why he felt his way, fear getting the best of him.

He was afraid of many things, but no that wasn't it.

Was it the memories making him feel this way? He has memories that aren't even his, that would make sense. He felt like he was so different from before ever since he killed sans.

The soul didn't absorb, it fused… Lincoln wasn't even a full on human cause of it. Now how would his sisters react to the fact that he's also part monster? Probably not good, especially Lola.

Speaking of Lola, Lincoln noticed that she was also acting differently, ever since he got back Lola purposely avoided him. Maybe she was scared, but her expression said something else. She was angry, annoyed… frustrated? Why, though? He knew that Lola was always kind of a brat at times. But she did care, so wouldn't she be happy to see him again?

Nothing was going the way Lincoln imagined it to be. Maybe if he just went home the first time he got that chance he wouldn't be feeling this way.

But he had to ruin it…

The more

These thoughts were getting too much for Lincoln and he got up from the couch and turned to the stairs.

Maybe if he actually saw his sisters more he would feel better…

Before he went upstairs though, he stopped dead in his tracks.

He would have to tell them everything… he could possibly leave the genocide part out, but he had to tell them about the times he got hurt. And there were countless times. This would definitely make them freakout and overreact. Lincoln really hated when his sister overreacted.

Well… maybe he can stall enough time to the point where everyone forgets about it. But his eyes are going to be a huge reminder…

Lincoln decided instead of seeing his sisters, he would just go to his… room… to pass the time. So then he walked upstairs, it was quieter than usual. But as soon as he did he was met with a wave of worry and excitement from 8 people. 8 excluding Lola, and Lily who was taking a nap.

"Lincoln! Have you done enough thinking?", asked Leni.

Lincoln just looked at Leni unsure.

"I don't know honestly…", said Lincoln.

"Are you alright?"

"Uhm… I would think so, I'm just going to go to my room", said Lincoln as he quickly dashed off.

"Wait Linc-"

"I wonder what's up with him", exclaimed Lori.

"Yeah, he is kind of worrying me", added Luna.

"Ever since he came back he acted extremely different;y"

"Well, he was gone for a week… and came back with strange eyes. It would make sense for him to act differently", explained Lisa.

"Yeah but he seems scared for no reason at all, what the hell happened while he was gone?", questioned Lynn.

"First of all calm your language Lynn, second off all… we don't know but whatever it was it wasn't good, I feel like Lincoln is hiding something", stated Lori.

"Well, maybe he is just a bit scared to say", said Lucy. "If he is then maybe I can try to talk it out of him"

"That would be good, but maybe we should just give him time for now", said Luan.

"Weird… Lincoln coming back wasn't as exciting as I thought it was going to be", noted Lana.

"I hate to admit it, but Lana has got a point… it wasn't as exciting as I anticipated… and it's all because Lincoln seems scared for no reason!", shouted Lynn.

"Quiet down"

"And what's the deal with Lola? She has not said a single word to Lincoln and she seems to have an attitude around him", added Luna.

"I don't know but… something tells me that something bad might happen", said Lisa.

"What do you mean by that?"

"We just have to be cautious, and we have to help Lincoln… it seems like he is traumatized by something", stated Lisa.

Unknownist to them, Lincoln was hearing their entire conversation, he was traumatized. More than traumatized, but he couldn't show it. He probably couldn't even show his face without people judging him. Well they already judge him for his hair, but now the eyes are going to add insult to the injury.

Hopefully… something would be figured out.

Eventually…

Sorry it took a bit for this one to come out. I've been working on a lot of other things while writing this one. And I might not update this one too frequently, maybe once or twice a month. Also I need help. I am tired of using "said" and "exclaimed" after someone says something. "stated" is getting a bit overused now too. What words can I use instead of those 3? Same situation with "walked"
