A/N Sup, I don't have any update schedule, I guess I'm just writing when I feel like it. Anyway review is always appreciated.
It was a new day as the sun slowly rising from the horizon, bathing the world with it's glorious light. The gentle beam shone over every roof and tall building in the town, chasing the darkness away from every corner. Some vehicles were already filling the streets and the houses getting much more louder now with their occupants slowly waking up.
But the noise coming from them was tame compared to the noise coming from a certain house at 1216 Franklin Avenue that was much more louder than any other house in the neighborhood. It was well known with the amount of people living in there that the house rarely became quiet unless for the special occasion that would take the family out for awhile. That was considered a peaceful time among the neighbors even though it was scarce and depending only by sheer luck.
In the small room that located the only son in the family, Lincoln was lying on his stomach with his face buried into his pillow. His alarm clock beeping loudly on the nightstand but it did little to awaken the white haired boy. It was only when a few hard knocks hit his door that he finally stirred from his sleep as his eyebrows knitted in frustration.
"Wake up twerp, it's time to go to school." The voice of his oldest sister shrieked through the thin walls that separated them and instantly brought him to life. "Everyone are already up except for you and we are getting late, also can you please turn off your alarm, it's literally annoying." She scolded.
His eyes slowly parted as Lincoln blinked a few times to get used with the sunlight piercing through the round window of his room. He stretched his right hand out and turned off the alarm on his desk as the beeping finally stopped. With a yawn, he moved and sat on the edge of his bed, planting both of his feets to the floor. He ran his right hand through his messy white hair and glanced at the device on his desk. Lori was right, he was getting up pretty late than usual today.
Lincoln stretched his arms over his head and rolled his neck until he felt his bones returning to their right places. Turning his head to the stack of books on his desk, he began putting some of them into his bacpack while placing the rest in his drawer. He gathered his change clothes hung over the back of his door and got out from his room where Lori is looking down on him with crossed arms.
"Good morning Lori," He yawned into his palm and rubbed his eyes.
"Morning twerp, what took you so long?" She asked, narrowing her eyes at him.
"Sorry, I sleep later than usual last night to get some studying done before going back to school, I don't want to be left behind when I got back." He massaged his temples, trying to ease the pain after a whole lot of reading, writing and taking note. At least he could finish it with his suspension ending today after his recent fight at school.
"Oh," Her eyes lowered in pity as a small frown plastered on her face, stealing her morning beauty away. "How are you?" She asked with slight concern in her voice.
"Don't worry Lori, I'm just a little tired but other than that I will be fine." Lincoln assured her. "Besides it would take more than a few books and punches to bring me down." He joked with a smirk, bringing her mood back up as Lori slightly shakes her head. She brushed her brother's white hair playfully and looked at the vacant bathroom.
"You better get ready fast." She advised when a new door opened, showing a groggy looking Lynn stepping out from the room.
Lynn turned her head and raised an eyebrow when she saw her oldest sister and only brother in the hallway. She inspected both of them and realized that her brother is still not prepared for the day yet unlike Lori. It didn't take long for her to notice that the line for the bedroom is empty which could only meant one thing. And it brought a grin to her face as she narrowed her eyes at her brother.
"Lori move." Lincoln said in a low voice as the oldest sister looked at the boy who is now having his own grin on his face.
Her eyes widened but she listened to her brother and quickly planted her back against the wall.
"What's with the grin Stincoln." She asked, lowering her body slightly. Her eyes still not leaving him.
"What about you Lynn?" He replied, putting more pressure into his feets.
Somewhere in the house, a drop of water dripped from a loose tap and slowed down in midair.
Lincoln and Lynn leapt forwards from where they stood earlier and sprinted down the hall, leaving a strong gust of wind behind them. Lori strenghtened her posture as her sibling raced for the bathroom, her blonde hair slightly ruined by their reckless attempt. She slid a glare into her face but they didn't notice it with how careless they are for their surrounding.
"Just give up Linc, I'm going to get there first." Lynn taunted, increasing her pace and almost passing him.
"Sorry Lynn, but not today," He pressed his feets against the floor, almost cracking it and launched himself far infront the brunette. Her eyes widened in shock as she tried getting back up to him, but the gap between them was too far for her to catch. When she got close to him, it was already too late as he closed the door and locking it, not forget to sneak a grin before he disappeared from her sight. He leaned behind the closed door and chuckled while hugging his stomach.
On the other side, Lynn banged her fist against the door only to stop soon after when Lori turned her around by her shoulders and glared at her. Her eyes widened under the oldest sister gaze.
"Heh, nice hair you got there Lori, I didn't know you're trying a new style." She nervously said.
"Literally, don't" Lori replied coldly.
After he finished brushing his teeth and taking a shower, he dried himself with a towel and changed into his usual clothes, an orange hoodie, a red shirt with an A shaped ace, blue jeans and a pair of white sneakers with three red stripes. He opened the medincine cabinet and took out a bandaid to replace the old one on his jawline. A stream of bright light covering his face when he changed them from his reflection in the mirror. After he applied the bandaid, Lincoln brushed the spot slightly before staring at his reflection.
His counterpart is smiling back at him. 'So a new beginning huh?" He spoke in a soft manner. 'Let's see how far you can go without us," A dark shade of shadow cascading his cold blue eyes breaking the real Lincoln from his trance.
He quickly shook his head and let out a sigh before opening the bathroom door. Lynn went in, not noticing his slight change as he got out, passing her while she closed the door between them. He went into his room and slung his backpack over his shoulder before heading downstairs to see his sisters still having breakfast in the dining room and kitchen.
Taking his seat between Luna and Luan, Lincoln began eating his breakfast that their parents has prepared for them. After all was done, he followed his sisters into Vanzilla as they headed for school. Lori left him and the five younger sisters at the elementary school and kindergarten and rode off to sent the others for middle school and highschool. Upon seeing the familiar building, Lincoln stood still while the rest of students flooding down the main entrance. He inhaled deeply through his nostrils, ignoring the crowd around him and shrugged his backpack over his shoulders.
Well, here we go.
As soon as he entered the hall, he could feel the heavy gazes from the student around him. Some dared to sneak a glance of him while the rest just downright looking down at the floor or avoiding him entirely. It seemed like he still mantained his reputation even after the suspension. Nothing seemed to change while he was gone, it wasn't like people would easily forget what he had done anyway. Lincoln stopped in his tracks when an older man in a suit stood infront of him. Lifting his head, he was already expecting the glare from the principal of Royal Woods elementary school.
"I hope you finally learn your lesson Loud." Principal Huggins sternly said with his arms folded. "I don't want to hear anymore trouble from you after this, or else you might regret with what I can do with you later." He warned. "This is my school and you need to follow by the rule, you understand that?"
"Yes principal Huggins, I will be more careful next time." He replied, not averting his gaze from the stoned face man. He respected the older man but he also have his own principle that Pop pop had taught him when he was much younger.
"Good, now go to your class, lesson will be starting soon." Principal Huggins slightly nodded before walking passed him. Unfortunately, their conversation didn't went unnoticed by the atudents currently residing in the hallway. He almost glared at them to make them stop but flinched instead when the thought of his conversation with his sisters while he was in suspension came to mind.
Flashback
"Don't scare people away just because you don't want to receive their attention dude, it couldn't be helped what they want to think, but if you kept doing that then you aren't helping yourself either, you're only making them believe more that you're a bad guy." Luna once said while he helped her to move her music instrument in her room.
"Then what should I do?" He asked, raising an eyebrow at her.
Luna looked at him with a small smile. "Just go with it dude, follow the flow and see where it bring you, it will work out somehow, just believe in your rockstar sister." She ruffled his white hair as he chuckled at her playful gesture.
Taking in a deep breath, he exhaled from his mouth and started making his way to his locker. He put in his combination, opened the door and took the book that he needed for the class while replacing it with the book in his bag. The bells rang and he quickened his pace into his first class for the day which is unfortunately math. He searched for any empty seat in the class and resigned with one at the back since there was no one sitting there. When he got there, Lincoln slung his backpack over the chair. He couldn't help but realized most student has slightly moved their tables a little bit further from him as soon as he chose to sit there.
Whispers and murmurs filled the air for a moment. Some were about him while the other just plain stuff about school. When the teacher arrived, the rooms became much more quiter which he was thankful for. At least he won't be listening to their conversation any longer.
"Good morning class, I hope you all are ready because today we will be having a pop quiz." Ms Johnson stated as she placed a stack of test paper on her desk. As usual some student groaned in frustration, a student placed their face on the table, a pencil broken in half in someone clutches and some student just sighed in defeat at their fate.
"Not again," A red haired boy with aussie accent rolled his eyes in annoyance.
"Now come on class, there is no need for your whining, this test will be consisting of the recent topic that we just learnt so I hope you all still remember how to answer these questions." Miss Johnson said before her eyes landed on the top of white hair at the back of the class.
"And Lincoln." He lifted his head when the teacher called his name. Some students shook when his name was suddenly brought up as if he just cause another problem. "Since you're suspended during the lesson, I think it would be better that you're allowed to be excluded from this test." She suggested
"It's fine Ms Johnson, I will be taking the test just like the rest of the student." He replied, confusing the older woman.
"Are you sure? You might don't know how to answer this paper?" She inqured.
"It's alright, I will try my best." Lincoln assured her.
"Well if you said so." Miss Johnson reluctantly said before passing the papers to all the student in the class including the white haired boy.
Lincoln looked at the test paper on his desk and examined the question. With all the studying he had been doing lately, he could have at least get some of them right if he followed the right equation, or at least he hoped so. There is only one way to find out as he picked up his pencil and started answering the question.
Class after class, it was finally time for recess with the bell ringing, indicating the end of lesson for the first period of school. As most student has started leaving the class, Lincoln decided to stay for a little bit longer with his head rested in his folded arms over the desk. He still received the same looks and murmurs by the remaining student that were still in there but it didn't bother him as much as when he was in the hallway. The most he could see were the group of girls gossiping beside the open window at the front of the class. He was tired and almost closed his eyes when a loud noise caught his attention, waking him up.
"Lincoln Loud! Where are you!?" A door slammed open followed by a booming voice. A large boy turned his head from side to side for any sign of white hair only to find none. He approached a male student and grabbed him by the collar before slightly lifting him up from the floor. "Where is he!?" He shouted.
"Y-you got into the wrong c-class." The boy stuttered. He put the boy down and quickly left the class, ignoring the embarassment of his misinformation.
Meanwhile, Lincoln raised an eyebrow at the noise, searching for where the voice was coming from but failed to see anyone that could fit the situation. He waited for awhile until the door of his class slammed open as a large figure entered the class.
"Lincoln Loud, I finally found you!" He glared at the white haired boy.
"Did you got into the wrong class earlier?" Lincoln calmly asked.
"Stop changing the subject, I'm here to teach you some lesson." He buried his fist into his palm. "You hit my friends a few weeks ago and I'm going to make you pay for that."
He would usually wasted no time and got into action when stuff like this happened. But that won't make him any different than how he was before. Instead of using his fist, he decided to be more mature.
"Can you at least be more specific, I don't know who you were talking about?" Lincoln lifted his head slightly.
"They told me you stole their money, there is no way you can forget that." The boy lashed out before kicking a desk near him.
"Oh right, those guys." Lincoln sighed in frustration. "First of all, I didn't steal anything from them, I just asked them to return the money from where they got it." He paused.
"Do you know your friends were harassing people for money." Lincoln asked as he stood up and slung his backpack over his shoulder. He carefully stepped out from his seat and rolled his hoodie sleeves over his arms.
"That didn't matter, I'm just here to destroy you, freak." If only he could get a penny everytime someone called him that, then he would have more money than what he have right now.
"Well, don't blame me for what will happen next." Lincoln started cracking his knuckles.
"Try your best, freak." Again with the name, can you please stop calling me that.
Lincoln sprinted forwards as the large boy raised both his arms to defense himself from the attack... which never came. Raising an eyebrow in confusion, the boy opened his eyes and lowered his arms only to see the white haired boy crouching on the windowsill as a few girls took a few step back.
Flashback
"Like you don't need to always fight them Linky, like why don't you try to be nice with them instead. I totes don't like if you hit anyone." Leni once said while he helped be a mannequin for her sister new design.
"But what if that won't be enough, they would still hit me even when I'm trying to be rational with them." He replied, wincing slightly when a needle poked into his skin. Leni smiled brightly at him while poking the tip of his nose with her index finger.
"Then you can like always run when that happen." She tilted her head.
"Seriously Leni, you want me to run from a fight." He inquired which confused the elder girl.
"You are not running from a fight Lincoln, you're actually avoiding from getting into trouble." Lori added. "It's not being a coward if you're running away from hurting someone that definitely can't defeat you, It would be like you giving mercy to them by not engaging in a half sided fight." She pointed out.
Lincoln glared at Lori who is smirking somewhere behind him since he can't move because of the needle.
"Well, if you can't think like that why don't you just do it for me, can you do that Linky?" Leni softly said with a smile. He returned her smile with a small nod.
"Sure Leni, I will try." He replied when she suddenly cupped both of his cheeks.
"No Lincy, I want you to actually do it." She pouted cutely. He rolled his eyes and let out a defeated sigh.
"Fine."
"Sorry, but I got to go." Lincoln said as he leapt out from the window and started running. The boy tried to chase him but struggled at the window because of his size. He stuck his head out and looked at the direction Lincoln was heading.
"You can't run from me coward, I will find you!" He shouted angrily, unaware that he was actually being spared by the Royal Woods white haired monster.
A girl with black hair that covered her left eye stood beside an open window with a few books hugged in her arms. She was in the library when a white haired boy suddenly ran passed her outside the building. It was only for a few second or so but their eyes met even with the fast pace the boy was moving in.
It was as if time slowed down for a moment as she can see his features, his light blue eyes, freckled cheek, chipped tooth and a clean bandaid plastered on his jawline. As soon as it happened, the boy disappeared from her sight with a gust of wind brushing her black hair slightly from her pale face. She wiped the loose strand of hair behind her ear and closed the slide window before going back to her task in the library. She wondered what that was about but it was none of her business. Although he seemed somewhat familiar.
After running for awhile, Lincoln eventually slowed down and returned to his casual walk. He entered the building as if nothing ever happened and walked down the hallway until he reached his locker. Putting his book in there, he closed the door and turned around, not noticing the red haired boy behind him. The boy fell on his back after Lincoln bumped against his shoulder. Noticing his mistake, he crouched down near the fallen student and helped to gather his book only to stop midway at one questionable material that caught his attention. He looked back at the boy face with a sceptical and judging look.
"Sorry, I didn't see you there." Lincoln said as he extended the material back to the boy.
"It's totally fine dude, just be careful next time, I don't want anything bad to happen to my precious collection." The boy replied while taking the material from his hand.
"Yeah, sure." Lincoln narrowed his eyes but was interrupted when he heard a set of quick footsteps coming towards them.
"You got nowhere to run now you freak!" Now it was getting really annoying and frustrating for him to hold back. Perhaps he could let out a blow, or maybe two just to let out some steam. Lincoln quickly shook the thought from his head and stood up.
"Sorry again, and you might want to hide that thing somewhere else." He suggested before taking off again leaving the fallen boy and the large student still chasing behind him. "Come here and fight me like a man!" The pursuer shouted. The red haired boy watched in confusion before going to his locker and began putting his stuff away.
Lincoln ran through the hallway, ignoring the bystanders and searched for his next class since recess will be over soon. That annoying boy would stop chasing him when the second period started unless he want to get into a bigger trouble with the teacher.
He went passed a dark skinned boy with curly hair in the hallway, slightly bumping him a little. "Sorry" Lincoln apologised but made no effort to stop.
"Hey! No running in the hallway!" The spectacled boy shouted which did little to caught his attention.
Seeing his class in the distance, he quickened his pace until he got through the door which caught a few students off guards as he gasped for air. The bells rang, signalling that recess was over as he went to any empty seat that he could reach first before sitting down. He didn't expect to be running today, it really took a lot out from him. At least it was over...
"I got you now you freak!" The large boy suddenly appeared and grabbed him by the collar. Lincoln clenched his fists but didn't make any attempt on being offensive except for his gritted teeth. His blood boiled in his body as his anger quickly rising like a volcano eruption.
"Put him down this instant young man!" A teacher that just got in warned with a glare. The large boy turned around to look at the teacher and released Lincoln down before leaving the class as to not raise more trouble. "I will get you next time." He whispered bitterly.
Lincoln breathed in a sigh of relief and got back on his seat with a tired expression. His running earlier has definitely left him with quite a fatigue that his eyes felt heavier than usual. This really is a long day, and it only became longer with the soothing voice of the techer teaching infront of them.
He can't believe that he actually managed to get through it but the bells rang for the last time that day, indicating that school was finally over. It was a hectic day, but at least it was only going to happen when he was at school. After collecting his stuff, Lincoln left the building and stood by the sideway with his sisters, waiting for Lori to come and pick them up like usual.
"So how is your day?" Lucy asked beside him.
"Horrible." He replied with a chuckle. "But at least I didn't hit anyone today, so I guess that is a good start." He ruffled her black hair as she pushed his hand away.
"I heard there was a guy chasing you today." Lucy quickly fixed her hair in frustration.
"And how do you know that?" He questioned.
"There is a new rumor about a white haired student running around the school like a coward." She answered, looking at her brother through her dark bangs. "But I knew what you're actually doing so you don't need to worry about it." She hold his hand in hers, softly squeezing them together.
"I just hope I'm doing the right thing." He sighed just when the vanzille arrived and parked infront of them.
"Hey freak!" His body jerked as a shade of shadow fell over his forehead. His blue eyes became darker and colder at the owner of the voice that kept bothering him along the day. He almost turned around if not for Lucy pushing him into the large vehicle when she noticed his changes. The large boy halted and quickly ran away when Lynn stuck her head out from the window with a baseball bat in her hand aiming at him.
"That's what I thought." She muttered with a glare.
"That was really close though, I almost thought Lincoln would tear him apart." Luan said.
"You alright Lincoln?" Lori asked from the driver seat.
"Yeah I'm fine, just let's get back home, I'm tired." He answered, leaning his back against the seat while Lola and Lana popped their heads out from the row of seats behind him.
Behind one of the closed window in the teacher's room, Ms Johnson watched the van drove away before returning back to signing the recent test she gave out earlier that day. Currently she was checking the white haired boy's paper and was quite shocked with the result. Although he didn't attend her class because of his recent suspension, he still managed to get a decent score with the test.
'Interesting' She thought while sipping from her cup of water.
