Way of Thinking:
**Previously**
"Is that right?" Clara snickered. "We'll be sure to do what you're supposed to and I'm sure they will." She shrugged. They just continued to glare at that. "Just a reminder, remember, being you know the rules well enough." She stared at them with fake care and had a mocking, worry tone. "Plus you wouldn't want anything to happen to them. Seeing as I hear, or have heard you're with these humans now." She glanced at the girls then them. "You must care for them so deeply…" The boys tightened their fists at that.
…..
"How anyone can go against the rules…" She pondered. She glanced at the girls. "They're just humans. Useless, worthless ones at that. Especially these ones, there's nothing good about them." She added. "It makes no sense, so I don't understand…" She breathed, both boys glaring at those insults. "London, most likely will not like this…not the choices, not anything…." She folded her arms, keeping her phone close. "But I will never understand…" She mentioned. "Especially when it comes to choosing humans." She concluded, turning, going back to her phone and walking away.
The others didn't like what she said, Kick and Gunther especially as they grabbed Jackie and Kendall, starting to walk again. Brianna and Mouth following as they headed back to their neighborhood, the tension thicker than it was before…
(**)
The group entered Kendall's place, the tension still in the air. Both Jackie and Kendall are still unsure about what just happened, however they know one thing, they certainly want answers about what just occurred, being this wasn't the first time Clara and Myra had done something like that. Mouth and Brianna were in the living room, while Kick and Gunther were in their own head space. Brianna couldn't help give both of them some looks as she knew the girls were going to react and question things even more now. The boys could heavily feel the looks and hear her thoughts.
'You both better say something.' She warned them. 'You both better handle this because you know they are going to question what just happened.' They just let out their own breaths, hating this, especially after the Marcello and blood thing. They didn't want to deal with this just yet.
Kendall and Jackie glanced at each other as they both had enough of the silence when they came into the living room bringing in a few drinks for everyone. They were going to demand answers this time and get them.
"Okay what was that?" Kendall was the first to break the silence as she glanced at Kick, setting down his cheetah chug. Jackie doing the same for Gunther, noticing none of them sitting which she took as a bad sign as well. "What did Clara and Myra mean by all of that?" She furthered questioned.
"And why does this keep happening with them?" Jackie added. "What do they have against us? Because I don't remember doing anything to them." Gunther and Kick looked at one another, unsure how to respond to this, the girls knowing those expressions well enough now.
"What is going on Kick?" Kendall said his name in a way that made him look at her. "What does this have to do with London? With these rules that keep being brought up?" She was demanding to know. Jackie realized Kendall had a point as these topics were being brought up a lot over the past months since the London students came. She glanced at Gunther again.
"Gunther?" She too, wanted to know.
Brianna folded her arms. 'You can't hide this anymore.' She told them, the thoughts loud and clear for them to hear, as her attitude was also very evident. 'They need to know.' Both boys shot her a look, hoping it was unnoticed. 'Brianna…' They both warned. However, Kendall and Jackie noticed the looks. Kendall suspected there were some exchanges going on with the mind front.
"If you are not going to tell us, then we can find out on our own." Kendall spoke, bringing their attentions back. Kick and Gunther taken aback by that. Even Brianna and Mouth were shocked by the statement as the two girls just stared at them.
"We want to know and we'll find out on our own if we have to." Jackie confirmed, not liking the idea, but agreeing with what Kendall said.
"We're not going to settle this time for it's better we don't know." They folded their arms. "We want answers."
"You realize this is for both of your girls' protection." Kick reminded.
"Yeah and as I reminded, look at where it has gotten us." Kendall countered. "We were attacked, kidnapped, went through the whole Marcello thing…"
"You guys were seriously injured, needed our blood, which you didn't tell us about, plus were extremely difficult about also," Jackie came in, saying the last part in a tone as she recalled them being stubborn and hard to work with. "And now we're facing this with the London students." She finished Kendall's argument.
"None of this is right and we want to be prepared, which you both are not preparing us." Kendall stated.
"We need to be ready for this stuff." Jackie affirmed. "And it be nice to know what we're up against next, considering that each time we have had encounters with those London students, it leaves us feeling uneasy and unsure of things." She brought up.
"Plus completely thrown as we never know what they're talking about, even though they bring up these same subjects quite a bit." Kendall commented. "We just want to know, what is going on?" Kendall looked at them, mainly Kick. "And if we have to, we'll find out on our own." Jackie also glanced at Gunther. Both boys just stared at them, Kick having his own moment with Kendall as he really didn't like this.
"You mean like you did when you found the supernatural drug and the handcuffs?" Kick questioned. Kendall kept her eyes locked with his, as Jackie looked at her with that before glancing back at the two.
"You know me Kick." Kendall responded. "If I want answers, I research and get them." She told him. "I find ways." He shook his head with that, letting out a huff.
"Really, research?" He repeated. "Those aren't something you just research and randomly thought of." He countered. "Even I know that." He added. "Someone obviously helped you, or told you something."
"Maybe, maybe not." Kendall replied. "Mouth used handcuffs if I recall on Marcello's cousins, plus it's not hard to think those had some supernatural properties." She retorted. "All one has to do is use the right key words on the web and you can find other items as well, like the drug." She mentioned. "Plus use the right name." She folded her arms with a shrug.
Brianna raised an eyebrow at that. 'She didn't…' As she was impressed, while Kick was shocked and couldn't believe it.
"You….you…you used my name?" He asked.
"At the time I was trying to help you and not like anyone knew." Kendall shrugged it off. "It was all on the web any way." She answered. "Plus it said put in a last name and yours was the only one I could think of." Brianna and Jackie started to laugh a bit, even Mouth snickered. Kick pinched the bridge of his nose.
"You really…." Kick let out a breath.
"Either way, none of that is important right now." Kendall wanted to get back on track. "What is, is what just happened." She said. "So both of you explain." She pointed out, looking at them as Jackie stopped laughing now and looked at them, getting serious again.
"Please…." Jackie spoke. "Gunther." She glanced at him. He gulped. 'Kick…' He questioned in his head, slightly looking at him. Kick just let out another breath. 'Fine…but, lightly….' He relented. Brianna just had her own look with that thought.
"Alright…" Kick let out. The girls kept their eyes on them. "You both might want to at least sit down, though." He commented. The two just slightly looked at each other, before sitting on the couch.
"So, what happened?" Kendall repeated. "And why do they keep bringing up these same topics about rules and such?" She continued, Jackie also just keeping her gaze as the boys decided to step closer, Kick sitting on one of the lounge chairs, while Gunther leaned against the arm of it.
"And what does this have to do with London?" Jackie also questioned.
"You both remember back when you first found out about us?" Kick asked, the girls nodding. "And you asked a lot of questions then too."
"Of course." Both girls chimed.
"We couldn't help it." Jackie reminded. "With that incident and everything."
"Yeah, plus it's not every day your world gets flipped like this, and your boyfriends turn out to be supernatural vampires." Kendall mentioned. Both boys rolled their eyes with that as they let out their own amused sounds.
"Right." Kick said. "Well, do you remember when Loraina and the others were talking about following some rules that were put in place by the pures?" He inquired.
"Pures, meaning your families? Or past, past, past, way past relatives…." Jackie was trying to really think of this and be accurate about it, since she recalled some of the words used.
"Yeah…" Gunther let out, as he and Kick had an unnoticed look, which pissed Brianna off. "Past relatives who made these rules."
"About there being six families, which we only know about the three that are here." Kendall brought up.
"And let's not be reminded of who one of those families are." Jackie got annoyed thinking about it as she folded her arms.
"True." Kick and Gunther had small laughs.
"But the other three, granted you don't necessarily need to know their names." Kick started. "However, they are in London." Both girls had their own looks with that, as they glanced at each other then back at the boys.
"Does that mean…" Kendall wanted to ask.
"They are connected to most of the London students." Kick could tell she was going to ask that. "Not directly apart of the bloodline, but….we'll say linked to the pure blood families there."
"Can I ask what are they doing here?" Jackie wondered. "I mean, it sounds….or seems like they shouldn't be here unless it's for something official like that Marcello thing or something…" Jackie was curious.
"And you guys handled that." Kendall came in. "So why are they here. It just seems like they're causing trouble." She thought about it. "I mean if I recall you guys said something back there about London needing to stay out of things, but…"
"They're here." Jackie finished.
"Exactly." Gunther stated. The girls were just more curious, confused, and suspicious of that. "They shouldn't be."
"Let's just say they have been meddling in things lately, when it's been unnecessary and unneeded." Kick said.
"Why is that?" Kendall questioned.
"The main reason," Gunther let out a small breath. "Because we were friends with you two." The girls' eyes widened with that.
"Wh…what?" Both of them didn't understand. The boys looked at each other knowing this might happen.
"It might help if we go into just a few of the rules." Kick reasoned. "Remember, how we said we couldn't tell you about anything, especially what we were because of these rules?" The girls nodding at that.
"That pretty much is rule number one for us, stay secret. No human or, rather natural mortal can discover anything about us or our world." Gunther explained. "Meaning they can't know what's really around them and we have to stay completely in secret."
"Also means keeping our privacy is a huge thing." Kick mentioned. "Especially, when doing what we're doing."
"Meaning you guys might have to pull a "dead man Dave" thing?" Jackie assumed, as she and Kendall looked at each other with that statement, figuring out what they meant by that. The boys were surprised by that.
"You…you two know about dead man Dave?" Kick quirked.
"Kick, that abandoned theme park, which that one company tried to renovate and re-do a few years back, but couldn't because of strange mishaps, and some cloaked, black ghosted figure?" Kendall raised an eye brow at him. "It wasn't hard for Jackie and I to figure out it was him, being that you two said that place wasn't haunted, saying it in your guys' lying, awkward tone, plus even said no one was alive pretending to be dead there." The two folded their arms. Kick gave a look to Gunther, who avoided it, knowing back then he couldn't handle the pressure, or rather was really bad dealing with his crush with Jackie.
"You two were easy to read." Jackie laughed. "Well….I mean, when it came to certain areas."
"Yeah, I was about to say…" Kendall glanced at her, as did Gunther, raising an eyebrow at that comment.
"Anyway, we figured out who was there, kept it a secret and to ourselves, as we figured he was hiding out for some reason." Jackie shrugged.
"Right…" Kick let out a small laugh. "Anyway yes, Gunther and I would have to do something similar in the future...but that's another topic." He breathed. "The point is at the time when we first knew you girls, then started to be friends with you, we wanted to follow that rule and stay secret."
"I see…but how does London factor into this?" Kendall wondered.
"Simple, they're meddling." Gunther replied. Jackie and Kendall had curious expressions.
"He means they didn't trust we could just be friends with you girls." Kick further informed. "Even more they didn't feel confident in us keeping the secret from you, let alone, if you did find out that we would follow the…other rules." He mentioned.
"The other rules?" Jackie inquired.
"There are several rules we live by." Kick responded.
"However, there are a few main ones that are….more important than others." Gunther continued. "These ones you'll… want to know" He breathed again. The girls stayed silent, as they listened more intently to the boys now.
"The first one as we said is that we are to remain hidden. Secret." Kick repeated. "The second most important rule, though, is that if any human or mortal is to find out about us," He continued to go into the rules. "Manipulate their memories or use your abilities in any way to make sure they don't remember."
"You can say that was the loop hole for many to continue drinking blood so long as they did manipulate the humans' mind after." Gunther added.
"I see." Kendall gathered while Jackie nodded to that statement.
"Although, hunters were another issue." Mouth chimed in. "As were the mages, though they liked to be called an array of things."
"We don't need to go into those subjects at this juncture." Kick glanced.
"He's right, the mages especially." Gunther agreed. "If Chicarelli wants to explain that mess, she can." Both girls looked at each other shocked, yet not too surprised at the same time.
"Chicarelli?" Jackie quirked.
"Seriously…." Kendall had her own look. "Why doesn't that surprise me with that dog that doesn't die, nor age it seems…" She shook her head. Brianna had a small snicker and the boys had their own amusement about it.
"Anyway…" Gunther said. "So long as both of those were followed we were pretty much in the clear, however…" He and Kick glanced.
"Jackie and I are…" Kendall remembered.
"We're different…." Jackie also recalled, knowing that none of their friends' abilities worked on them. Actually so far, no vampires' abilities worked on them. Both of them looking a bit down.
"That's not a bad thing, remember that." Kick told them. "Hell so far it's been saving your lives lately." He encouraged.
"Amongst other things as well." Brianna smirked. "I'd say it's the best thing you girls have right now." Both boys gave her a look with that. While Kendall and Jackie felt better having small giggles.
"Is that why London has been coming is because they knew about us?" Jackie asked.
"Unfortunately." Gunther replied.
"We had to inform them about you both and the situation." Kick stated. "Which we hated doing, though they demanded to know that our secrecy was going to stay intact, as we said it would." Kick spoke. "We told them how at the time we were just friends, and things were maintained to stay that way, our lives would not intertwine, the secret would stay hidden and everything would be fine."
"Even with…" Jackie glanced at Gunther.
"Admittedly…" Gunther let out. "There was some things we did keep." He confessed.
"Some?" Brianna quipped. Both boys shooting her a glare with which she just returned, knowing they earned it and she wouldn't back down as this needed to get cleared up.
"Keep from whom?" Jackie brought the attention back, Kendall looked at her. As did the others when she asked that. Gunther let out another breath.
"Both sides Jackie." He softly responded. She slightly glanced away with that. He figured that might hurt a bit. "We kept some of our affairs secret from them, especially when it came about you girls and how we…felt…and relations developing." He continued.
"And we kept…well tried to keep our world secret from you both because we wanted to keep you girls safe." Kick finished.
"We get you wanted to keep us safe." Kendall understood. "But after everything that we all have been through, especially this year, wouldn't you think telling us would have been better?" Kendall wondered. "We would have accepted it like it was nothing, because I mean we did, but hiding it for so long, obviously is putting stress on you guys and still is."
"That's because the more you know…" Kick breathed. "If you had found out…" He didn't know how to say it.
"Things might have had to change." Gunther helped. "Especially if you didn't accept it, given that none of our abilities work on you two." The girls had a curious look with that.
"What…what do you mean?" Jackie asked.
"We keep our secret for a reason." Gunther spoke. "Not just for humans' safeties, but in a way for own too."
"How's that?" Kendall questioned.
"Simple, humans would panic and go into mayhem if they knew we were around." Kick replied. "Wars, turmoil, chaos, havoc….all of it would break out." He informed. "It would force us to flee further into hiding or deal with those like the Trenton girls." He continued. "There would be no peace between any of us and nothing would be safe."
"Kick sadly has a point, as it has happened before, when people thought other humans were witches, monsters, or other heinous creatures all because of their thoughts, looks, views and whatever else they could think of. History has a tendency to repeat itself, and not all humans sadly change." Brianna hated to agree with Kick, but did as he was right in this point.
"Right." Kendall felt sad about that, reminded by the fact Kick didn't like history, this being the reason.
"But, we do know, we did accept it, so what's the problem now?" Jackie inquired, not liking the fact about what was just said, but wanted to try and lighten things, seeing as they were different than what they could be. Kendall looked at her then the boys.
"The problem is…technically….we don't want you in our world…" Gunther breathed out, finally answering that. The girls didn't know what to think of that.
"What Gunther means, we don't want to change you." Kick helped them understand, so they didn't get the wrong idea. "We never want to." Both of them were still taken back a bit by this.
"I….I don't….I don't understand…." Jackie let out, her voice a small whisper.
"What do you guys mean by change?" Kendall looked at them.
"What do you think Kends?" Kick responded.
"You…would turn us?" She asked
"That's what it means. But we don't want to." Kick stated.
"We never want to." Gunther shook his head.
"So…that's what you mean by not wanting us in your world?" Jackie glanced.
"Yes, but you should know it's because we're thinking for both of your girls' well-being." Gunther replied. "We know you girls have families and don't want to take you away from that, nor any of your goals. Changing you girls can't be undone and is something that we just don't want to do." He further went into. Kick nodding in agreement. The girls could see that as Jackie thought of her mom and Kendall Linnie.
"Is…is it bad if….if we know, and you…you don't turn us?" Jackie wanted to know.
"Technically speaking, it's breaking a rule." Kick answered.
"The rule following the manipulation one, if a vampire should choose to be with a human, or refuse to manipulate their minds, or for whatever reason let them know about us, the said vampire is to change the human, so that secrecy stays paramount." Gunther informed.
"That makes sense, since secrecy is vital for you guys." Kendall understood.
"Yes, but if you guys don't change us, since you're refusing, does that mean something will happen to you guys?" Jackie was curious and concerned. The boys shook their heads in disbelief knowing the girls were more concerned about them, although weren't too surprised at this point, with how they have been. Meanwhile Brianna still had a look aimed at them.
"For now, let us deal with London and the students from there." Kick replied. The girls looked at the two with that.
"Kick's right." Gunther agreed. "Besides, we know what to expect from them, plus with the fact they have been meddling too long now." He mentioned. Brianna rolled her eyes at that, as she couldn't believe what her Brother and Gunther were still pulling.
"It's better this way, anyway." Kick added. "That we take care of them and handle things from here on out." Kendall and Jackie glanced at each other unsure of those responses and the fact they avoided the question, before looking back.
"You sure?" Kendall asked.
"Positive." Kick nodded.
"Let us handle London." Gunther affirmed. Jackie did a slight glance at Kendall before looking back at them.
"If you guys say so…" She relented, though both girls were still secretly uncertain about this.
"We got this. Besides we have it set that we won't change you two." Kick assured them. "So that's why we're going to handle things."
"Kick's right." Gunther confirmed. "You two don't have to worry about that, as we always knew we would never do that, so let us just take care of things, okay?" The two smiled. All the girls could do was simply nod at them, while Brianna had an unnoticed hard glare aimed at the boys, her anger, and own aura rising. Mouth was becoming frightened of it, however the boys ignored it, purposely, which only pissed her off more, especially on the mind front.
'Just you wait until we're alone…' She thought, hoping Kick shared it between him and Gunther, not that her expression and demeanor didn't scream that phrase loudly.
To be continued….
L: Oh shit!
S: I know right! I love writing this. Also note, as this is my story and I might get flack, but whatever. I don't follow the mage, witch, wizard, sorceress, etc. definitions, code or whatever. ALL OF IT IN MY FANFICTION/FICTION IS INTERCHANGABLE TERMS, so if that bothers you, here's what you do- 1. Know I probably will delete the pm; 2. I probably will ignore the critique in the review/overlook and read over to the rest of the critique/review; 3. If it's that much of a bother, you might want to read something else or do what I do, just use the right term in your head when reading; 4. Maybe….just maybe get over it? It's mythological after all, and is only for my stuff so rest assured, you read other stuff, they'll probably be more "accurate" in the terms, if that's what you need/want? (maybe?) They are just stories (whether Fanfic or in my action original fiction I write); 5. THIS IS MY UNIVERSE. MY FANFIC/FICTION. SO MY RULES FOR MY FANTISY PLACE. ENOUGH SAID.
Please enjoy!
L: I think that covers it on the mage thing, since I think that means that's going to be a big part of this story…
S: I'm not spoiling, but they do get brought up more so…
L: OOOOOOUUUU….anyway hoped everyone enjoyed! Do as you guys do, knowing what you know of course now!
S: And thank you as always for being amazing! See in you in the next update!
Both: Bye! Please keep informed for yourself, others and stay safe! Also please stand against tyranny that countries face like Ukraine, Taiwan and others. Thank you!
