Chapter 4
3rd POV
I don't own Harry Potter. That right goes to J.K. Rowling
The Dursley's and Athena got back to the house on Privet Drive, with Dudley wrapped in a blanket. Athena and Vernon behind them, Vernon holding to her hair dragging her into the house.
"It's all right, sweetheart. It's all right." Petunia said, rubbing and guiding Dudley to the couch in front of the fire to warm him up.
"Ow!" Athena yelled when Vernon pulled her hair tighter.
"What happened?!" Vernon yelled asking what happened at the zoo.
"I swear I don't know! One minute, the glass was there and then it was gone! It was like it was magic!" She exclaimed, answering him.
"There's no such thing as magic." Vernon scoffs, throwing her in the cupboard then closing the vent to black out the inside.
Everyone in the Great Hall was silent not knowing what to say about what happened. Their savior was treated like a house elf.
A couple of days later Dudley was standing in front of the fireplace in his Smeltings uniform while his mother was taking his picture. "Aww, smile. Vernon, just look at him. I can't believe it. In just a week you'll be off to Smeltings." Dudley's mother said, taking photos of him.
"Caveat Smeltona. Proudest moment of my life." His father said, smiling proudly at Dudley.
"What's Smeltings?" Fred asks.
"It's a boarding school."
"Will I have to wear that, too?" Athena asks which takes their attention off of their son.
"What, you? Go to Smeltings?" Petunia says amused as walks to the kitchen to fish out a grey shirt from the boiler on the stove. Making Athena nod confused. "Oh don't be so stupid, you're going to the state school where you belong. And this is what you will be wearing when I've finished dyeing it."
"But that's Dudley's old uniform. It'll fit me like old bits of elephant skin." Athena says in disbelief.
"It'll fit you well enough. Go get the post." Petunia orders paying attention to the pot. "Go!"
Athena leaves the kitchen area into the hallway and picks up some letters, one of which had her name on the front of it along with where she slept. She hands the letters to her uncle Vernon while she looks at the letter. When she flips it over to the back she sees a lion on the top left side, a snake on the top right side, a badger on the bottom left side and a raven on the bottom right side with a letter H in the middle of it.
"Yay you got your Hogwarts letter!" Ron exclaimed excitedly.
"Oh, Marge is ill! Ate a funny whelk." Vernon says, reading his sister's letter.
"Dad! Look! Athena's got a letter!" Dudley yells, noticing the letter before taking it from her.
"Hey, give it back! It's mine!" Athena yells chasing after her cousin.
"They took your Hogwarts letter away from you!" Sirius yells suddenly, scarring everyone in the Great Hall.
"Yea, pads, they took my letter from me, but you know what. I'm going to get them back for everything they've done to me." Athena smirks at her godfather.
"You? Who would be writing to you?" Vernon takes the letter from his son, but when he saw what the letter was from he looked to Petunia scared before both of them sent them to their rooms or Athena's case the cupboard.
Over the course of the week letters addressed to Athena were being sent through the mail slot on the door. Athena could tell that her uncle was getting tired of all the letters coming since she hears a whirring noise, so she looks out the cupboard door seeing Vernon drilling a piece of wood over the letterbox opening.
"No more mail through this letterbox." He smirks looking back at his niece.
Athena closes the door and goes back to playing with the broken toy horse. The next morning Vernon was standing on the porch giving his wife a kiss before leaving for work, when he turned around he spotted the owls leaving the letters on his car.
"Shoo! Go on!" Vernon says waving his arms around to get the owls off of his car. Petunia pats her husband on his arm to show that there were more letters on the ground in front of them.
"They really didn't want you to get your letters." Dean says looking at Athena in a new light.
"Yeah, they didn't like anything that wasn't normal." Athena says looking at Dean leaning into Draco more, as she does that he gives her a forehead kiss.
"I love you, dragon." She says looking up at her boyfriend.
"I love you too, babygirl." Draco says, giving her a kiss.
"Fine day sunday. In my opinion, best of the week. Why is that, Dudley?" Vernon asks, looking at the newspaper while Athena is serving cookies.
"Because there's no post on Sunday?" Athena answers when Dudley doesn't.
"Ah, right you are, Athena. No post on Sunday. Ha! No blasted letters today. No, sir. Not one single bloody letter, not one." Vernon says as Athena looks outside seeing a shadow. What she sees outside are about millions of owls perched in the yard, the street in front of their house. "No, sir, not one blasted, miserable-" He gets cut off by a letter coming through the fireplace, before millions start coming at a fast pace.
"AHH! Make it stop! Please make it stop!" Dudley yells jumping into his mothers lap like a baby.
"Go away, ahh!" Vernon yells, swiping at the letters.
"What is it? What's happening!" Dudley yells once more.
"Don't you think that was a bit much, Minervia?" Professor Flitwick questions looking from the movie to his colleague.
"Nope, not at all. I knew they weren't going to give Athena her letter, so I got more extreme everytime." McGonagall says pleased with herself.
Athena jumps up onto the coffee table to grab a letter, but when she gets one and runs away Vernon chases after her not wanting her to read it.
"Give me that! Give me that letter!" Vernon yells trying to get the letter out of Athena's hands.
"Get off! Ahh!" Athena yells back struggling to keep that letter but it gets taken away anyway.
"Ahh!" He yells still trying to get the letter.
"They're my letters! Let go of me!" Athena yells before her uncle has it.
"That's it! We're going away! Far away! Where they can't find us!" Vernon yells looking at his family with an insane look in his eyes.
"Daddy's gone mad, hasn't he?!" Dudley asks, looking at his father in fear while holding onto his mother.
Everyone in the Hall didn't know what to make of what just happened. They didn't think that they're savior would be sent hundreds of letters and wouldn't get any of them.
Later that night, it was storming. The Dursleys and Athena were in a stone shack in the middle of the sea. The family was sleeping, while Athena was laying on her stomach on the hard cold ground, since Dudley was on the couch and his parents were in the bed upstairs. Athena was drawing a birthday cake in the dirt that was on the ground that says, 'Happy Birthday Athena'. When she got done drawing her name, she looked over at Dudley's watch to see it was 12:00 am.
"Make a wish, Athena." Athena tells herself before blowing out her 'candles'.
The parents were in shock that Athena had never had a birthday cake before, but what they didn't know was that everything was going to change after this. Athena will be getting things to make up for 12 years of birthdays and 11 years of Christmas gifts.
As soon as Athena blew the dirt cake, there was a big bang in sync with the thunder from the storm. Athena jumps not expecting the bang. When the door thumps, Athena hides behind the wall where the fireplace is. (The fireplace is out of the wall so if you have seen the movies you know what I'm talking about.) Dudley is standing but on the couch where he was sleeping, Petunia and Vernon coming down the stairs, Vernon with a double barrel shotgun pointing it toward the door.
"Who's there? Ahh!" Vernon yells when another thump hits the door, but this time the door goes down and the four of them could see the outline of a very large man.
"Sorry 'bout that." The man says bending down to pick up the door to put it where it was.
"Hagrid!" Some of the students from different houses yell when they see Hagrid come into the scene. When the kids yelled that it made Hagrid blush not used to the attention all of the time.
"I demand that you leave at once, sir! You are breaking and entering!" Vernon yells ignoring the man, piping the gun at him.
As Petunia gasps in fear, Hagrid grabs the gun and bends the barrel upwards. "Dry up, Dursley, you great prune." The gun fires upwards, blasting a hole in the ceiling, causing the two to sheak of fear. "Now, where is Athena?"
"I'm Athena." She says softly, coming out from where she was hiding.
"Aww." All of the girls said she was really adorable. Athena hid her face in Draco's chest.
"You were adorable." Draco said, making his girlfriend hide her face even more.
"Oh, well, of course you are! Got something for fear I might have sat on it at some point! I imagine that it'll taste just the same. Ahh bake it myself. Words and all." The man says handing a box to Athena.
"Thank you." Athena says after opening the box to see a cake that says 'Happee Birdae Thena'.
"It's not everyday that your young lady turns eleven, now is it?" he says sitting down on the sofa pointing the umbrella at the fireplace.
"Excuse me, who are you?" Athena questions putting the cake down beside the strange man.
"Rubeus Hagrid, keeper of keys and grounds of Hogwarts. Course, you'll know all about Hogwarts." Hagrid says, turning to look at Athena.
"Sorry, no." Athena replies, looking at Hagrid confused.
"No? Blimey, Thena, didn't you ever wonder where your mum and dad learned it all?" Hagrid says grinning.
"Learned what?" She asks, still not knowing what he was talking about.
"You didn't know you were a witch?" Sirius said kind of sad that his goddaughter didn't know about that world she was born into.
"No, I didn't, Siri. I wish I did though maybe I could have met Moony sooner." Athena answered with tears in her eyes, getting up and giving her godfather a hug while sitting on his lap.
"You're a witch, Thena." Hagrid informs leaning down towards Athena.
