Warning: I don't have a beta-reader (yeah that hasn't changed either) and as English is not my main language I'm bound to make mistakes. I hope it's not too bad and you'll bear with me.

If you don't like, don't read. Flames will probably be ignored; constructive critics and other reviews are always very welcome. Read and enjoy.

No smut yet, but it was close ^^ so we keep the same rating (most likely it will change in chapter 3). I usually don't separate my smut chapters from the others. I just find it confusing. I will put a warning when things get too much and you'll be able to skip the part if you don't like that.

Chris emerged from the bathroom with a sigh. They had had double shifts the last two days and the muscles all over her body felt sore. The very hot shower she had just taken had barely manage to disperse the tension but it had effectively fogged up the small room. She sighed as the cooler air of her room touched her skin and she couldn't help but shiver. She threaded her fingers through her shorts strands and looked at the bed. Sure enough, Street was still lying face down on his side of the bed in exactly the same position as before she had gone showering. He seemed even more exhausted than she felt.

Tan had managed to negotiate with the Commander for 20-David to have one day completely off for his wedding vows ceremony and the following day only on call in case of emergency. It had cost a lot in the past days, but as their friend had said, he had wanted that all of them could enjoy at least one glass of champagne for his wedding.

Chris moved to Street's side of the bed and gently stroked his nape.

"Come on Sleepyhead." She cooed. "It's time to rise and shine."

She heard him mumble something unintelligible in his pillow but his head stayed resolutely down. She tried with another caress but he just seemed to sink even further into the comfort of the bed. Chris shook her head with a smile. With any other person, she would have been annoyed by now, especially as he really needed to get up soon to be on time. She looked at his still form and pondered how best to get him going without losing time they didn't have.

She smirked as she kneeled on the bed. She climbed on top of him, straddling his hips, before pressing her whole body against the length of his. She felt him tense immediately and she brought her mouth to his ear.

"Wakey, wakey…" She whispered as her hands traveled over his sides. His body relaxed again and a low moan escaped his lips. She heard him mumbled something incomprehensible and she chuckled. "Come on Sleeping Beauty, it's time to get up. The sun is shining and the birds are chirping."

She wriggled her hips over him and he groaned again. He finally raised his head from his pillow and darted one sleepy but quizzing eye her way.

"The birds are chirping?" His voice was hoarse, still heavy with sleep. With his raised eyebrow, he looked adorable.

"You need to get going, Tan is waiting for us." When he shook his head at her comment, she brought her hands back on his shoulders and slightly shook him. "There is no getting out of that. We promised him yesterday we would be there at noon sharp. Your suit is at your place so you have to get going or you'll never make it. And Luca is waiting for you. I heard your phone vibrate several times, I'm sure it was him checking on you."

He groaned once more and sighed in a way that made her think he was finally ready to get up. She used her hands as leverage to straighten and suddenly she felt him tense once again, in one instant she was on her back with a smirking Street on top of her.

"I can't believe you used a SWAT maneuver to subdue me…" Chris chuckled disbelievingly.

"And I can't believe you didn't see it coming or at least you didn't try to counter it." He grinned down at her before nuzzling her neck. When he slightly grinded against her, she started moaning before reason won and she pushed against his shoulders to try to dislodge him.

"Street… please be reasonable." She pleaded with him. "We absolutely have no time for that. You really want to disappoint Tan?"

"We could be late?" He suggested.

"Yeah both of us late that would not raise any suspicion at all." She chuckled. "Should I remind you how our dear colleague and friend complained to us yesterday that out of the ninety-six guests to attend today's ceremony only twenty-three were his friends, all the others were Bonnie's?"

"Well if we were to throw such a party I doubt we'd get more than 23 people altogether… So I'm supposed to feel bad that there will be that many guests plus family present?"

"While this is a valid point…" She smiled, tapping his nose with her finger. "This is not the issue. We promised we would be there, so we have to be there. So roll and get out of bed."

"I think this deserves a compensation." He pouted before settling more comfortably against her. She closed her eyes and bit back a moan at their heightened contact.

"You should negotiate that with Tan." Her voice sounded breathless even to her own ears. She felt her own resolve falter.

"The problem is he's not here, you are. And I'm not really interested in what he could offer me as incentive." He smugly reminded her, pressing his lips against her collarbone.

"You shouldn't push your luck. Any other person would already be butt naked on the other side of my door." She managed with an unconvincing tone. She looked up at him and saw his stubborn frown. "Oh my Gosh, you're such a kid. Okay I give in. What do you want? As long as it gets you going and on time at the venue I'm ready to listen."

"Really?" She chuckled at his obvious delight. "I didn't think this would work."

"What can I say I'm weak?" She offered with another giggle and a light slap on his shoulder. "You realize your antics have me late too? I have to take another shower. My hair is a mess and…"

"And you're all hot and bothered." He added with a satisfied smirk. "I promise I'll make it up to you later today. But now I need a very cold shower…"

After a quick kiss on her lips, he finally freed her and got up.

"What? That's it?" She raised herself up on one elbow and looked disbelievingly as he was gathering his clothes.

"Hey I'm gentleman I'm not pushing my advantage here." He grabbed his phone and made his way to the bathroom. "And it's way too late if we want to make it for noon at the venue."

"You're lucky I love you…" She shouted at the closing door.

"I love you too." She heard him yell behind the door and she couldn't help grinning. Well that had been a very frustrating start of the day.

Street had barely made it to the house and got off his motorbike that the door opened and a rather restless Luca appeared. His drive had been fast but he hadn't been able to make up for the lost time at Chris'.

"Damn man! Where were you?" The older man wondered. "Tan has already called twice to ask if we would arrive soon."

"I told you I was on my way when I called twenty minutes ago. Give me five minutes and we'll be ready to go."

He rushed inside with Luca on his heels. Thankfully, he had already prepared his clothes before going to shift the previous day. Tan and Bonnie had chosen the suit, dress shirt and matching necktie a few weeks ago so that all the men from 20-David would be dressed the same. It had made things easier. As far as he knew Bonnie's closest female friends had also had their dresses chosen by the happy couple. Chris had kept quiet about what she was going to wear and he was quite impatient to see what she had chosen.

"You didn't tell me you were planning on sleeping elsewhere last night…" Luca's reproachful voice reached him from the other side of the door as he was hurriedly buttoning his shirt.

"I didn't plan it either." He answered. "I went over to a former colleague from Long Beach who had problems last night. I was so exhausted after the two double shifts we did that I fell asleep on his couch."

"And you're only back now?" His friend pushed and Street was thankful Luca wasn't in the room to see his grimaces as he was thinking of the best possible answer.

"Well you know I'm not the easiest to wake up in the morning. I failed to set up the alarm on my phone and my friend had drunk a little too much and was no help either."

He finished putting on his tie and emerged from his room facing his friend again.

"Why don't I believe a single word from that explanation?" Luca wondered eying him suspiciously.

"Why would I lie to you?" Street wondered cheekily. "I have always told you when I had Tinder dates. I'm not ashamed of that. And see I'm ready."

"Okay let's say I believe you." He said with a frown. "You're lucky you clean up nicely and you're fast. Now let's go we should be able to make it just on time… not thanks to you."

"Yeah and I apologize!"

Bonnie and Tan had chosen a beautiful venue. The gardens were huge and as the weather was especially nice, the tables had been set outside. The indoor amenities included a grand hall with a performance stage. Behind it, there was a big screen and several movies of the happy couple were playing. There were different rooms and nooks were people could isolate if they wanted to talk or rest. Several bars had been set up outdoor as well as indoor. Street had checked the venue's website and he had been quite impressed by what he had read and what he now saw.

A valet service was in place and as soon as they arrived, a young man came rushing to take the key of the truck and park it away. They had barely looked around that a very excited and smiling Tan came rushing.

"Oh my God, you're finally here." He sighed with relief. "I can't wait for this day to be over. This is so stressful…"

"Stressful? I thought that Bonnie and her Mom had organized everything." Street wondered with a frown. "It can't be more stressful than work."

"Is he moaning again?" Chris quipped in, as she joined her friends.

"Oh Chris! Wow that's what I call a killer dress." Tan was eying her with admiration. Both Luca and Street turned around, and the older man whistled his appreciation.

"Oh you really mean to seduce them all. We'll have to protect your virtue when you wear a dress like that. But then weddings are the best place to meet new people." He took her hand and spun her around to better see her dress. "That's one very naughty dress, so sexy… I love the side slit, wow Chris. Don't you like that, guys?"

He spun her around several more times with a happy smile. He took her in his arms and tried out a few dance steps.

"You will have to dance with me later today." After a last spin, he kissed her hand and released his grip. "Street? You're exceptionally quiet. You don't like her dress?"

"Yeah it's very nice… You're in green like us…" He finally managed. His eyes were glued on her legs. And he would be lying if he said he liked her dress. The side slit was way too high for his taste and most of all his peace of mind.

"Those were Bonnie's orders. She was very specific on what I needed to wear at least as far as the colors went. If I remember well, I had the choice between Mantis, Emerald or Kelly green." She explained turning towards a blushing Tan. "Lucky me this gorgeous dress met the requirements."

"Yeah that's what I was trying to explain before you arrived." He sheepishly said. "Bonnie transformed into Bridezilla over last few weeks. She has been driving me nuts. I hope you guys won't be angry because of the seating plan."

"Why? Are we all next to the restrooms?" Street joked.

"No, Bonnie thought it would be nice to place you all on different tables. Well except of course for the couples." He explained nervously. "She organized several 'single tables' so that you can meddle with her friends."

"Oh that's a good idea." Luca chimed in with a broad smile. Chris and Street exchanged a confused look before smiling at their colleague. While they had not really expected to be seated next to each other, the whole concept of 'single tables' didn't sit too well with them.

"I'm sorry guys." Tan apologized once more. "I hope you'll get along with them. I'll make it to you. But I really didn't want to rain on Bonnie's parade."

"You mean on Bridezilla's parade?" Street teased his friend who paled at the word.

"Every woman becomes Bridezilla when she organizes her wedding." Deac said with humor. "Even Annie."

His wife who was kissing Chris at this moment, turned around and fake-slapped his arm.

"David, I wasn't that bad… So maybe I went a little overboard." She corrected with a smirk.

"A little? You sent a two-page letter to all the guests to explain what was expected from them. I know I was scared."

"Some thanked me for that letter I'll let you know. I had explained everything about the venue, the catering, the dress code… And I certainly made no crazy demands." Annie reminded him. "There was for example no Green Dress Mandatory mention in my letter."

"Yeah I'm sorry… Bonnie really wanted a tropical theme as you can see with the decoration at the venue. She thought green cravats and green dresses would look the best…" Tan tried to explain. "It's a little Bridezilla… but I've read worse things on the net about crazy brides!"

"Like I said every woman turns Bridezilla for her wedding." Deac laughed. "But it's for the good cause… and once the ceremony is over, they're usually back to their lovely selves."

He embraced his wife and gave a loving kiss. Annie blushed at the compliment and smiled broadly.

"I'm sure I'll never be a Bridezilla." Chris shook her head. "I'm not really into all that kind of fuss."

"You say that now." Annie told her. "I also thought I wouldn't mind the little details, but once you start organizing you obsess over the weirdest things. I don't like to agree with David on this… but I did indeed go overboard after a few weeks."

"You can see our poor friend Tan, he is literally running scared." Street affectionately shoved his friend. "And we haven't even seen Bonnie yet… Not that I'm sure I'm ready for that…"

"Well it's time to come in." The happy groom told them. "Hondo called a few minutes ago to tell me he was running late. But he should be here with Nichelle in the next twenty minutes. Let's go in and let me introduce you to Bonnie's family and our friends."

Luca and the Kays followed Tan suit. Street and Chris lingered a little before entering the premises.

"Bridezilla?" He shuddered. "That's a scary thought."

"Hey I'm not like that." Chris punched lightly his arm with an offended look on her face.

"Well I can tell you I wouldn't go running scared like Tan." She frowned at him as he spoke. "I would most definitely hide and go under cover."

"What?"

"If sweet gals like Bonnie and Annie turn into maniacs, I can't imagine what a SWAT officer could do. You know way too many ways to kill and maim anyone. That would be self-preservation."

"You're such an idiot, Street." She chuckled.

"Yeah but I'm your idiot…"
