Warning: I don't have a beta-reader (yeah that hasn't changed either) and as English is not my main language I'm bound to make mistakes. I hope it's not too bad and you'll bear with me.

If you don't like, don't read. Flames will probably be ignored; constructive critics and other reviews are always very welcome. Read and enjoy.

Well chapter 3 took a life of its own (which is very disturbing). So no smut yet, because it was way too long to be posted at once and I haven't finished the smut part yet (just getting started lol), so we keep the same rating, so chapter 4 will definitely be smutty.

Disclaimer: Don't own, just playing around so don't sue… Belongs to CBS Studios, Sony Pictures Television and many others.

Most people would say the vows Tan and Bonnie exchanged were absolutely beautiful in this emotionally raw kind of way. They spoke of finding their soulmates, they spoke about love and devotion and a bright future. Street had find them inspiring but in general, the whole ceremony had sucked.

First standing on the performance stage for the whole ordeal just wasn't cutting it for him. He knew Tan had wanted 20-David to stand next to him for the ceremony. But his eyes always wanted to wander where Chris was and he had literally to force himself not to do it too often as not to raise suspicion. She was sitting with Annie and Nichelle so he had looked at the same rhythm as Deac and Hondo did, even though he definitely hadn't officially the same excuse as them to do so. It was hard not to look at her. He took in her dress once more. The piece was enticing when she was standing but it was altogether another story when she was seated. The side slit opened naughtily on her right legand showed more skin than she usually displayed in public. It was clear invitation to sin and he hated to be here when all he wanted was to be next to her.

Second Bonnie's bridesmaids were way too handsy for his taste. Some of them literally had no understanding for personal space. It had started when Tan and Bonnie had introduced the team to the smaller group of her best friends and they had crowded him right away. With their busy schedule, the team hadn't had any time to do a rehearsal for this, not that it was really need as there was no real 'choreography' or whatever one called that.

So far the hints he had given that he wasn't interested hadn't been understood or maybe (even worse) simply ignored. He clearly hoped none of the most forward women would be at his table for lunch, but after eyeing Tan and his apologetic look, he started thinking he was going to be out of luck.

Third and the worst in his book, during the ceremony a blond guy had suddenly materialized next to Chris. Now every time he was looking her way, they were deep in conversation and she was not paying attention to what was happening on stage. At one point, the pretty boy had started leaning closer to whisper something in her ear and she had laughed. It had been one of her genuine laughs, not one for show and that had annoyed him to no end.

Annie and Nichelle had also joined the discussion, forcing the guy to lean over Chris and completely invade her personal space. And he usually was the one to do that, not some random stranger she had just met at Tan's wedding. The worst thing was that she didn't seem to mind it at all. He bit his lower lip and looked at Tan and Bonnie. Sure enough, two of the bridesmaids took that as though he was looking at them when he was just doing his best to deflect and not think about what was happening in the ballroom.

When it was finally finished, Tan's brother who had been the officiant, asked the audience to congratulate the "newlyweds" and they had kissed under the hurrahs of the cheering standing crowd. Street patted his friend in the back like the rest of the team and he was ready to make his way to Chris, when he stopped dead on his tracks.

"Oh my God Julian!" Bonnie exclaimed as she beelined for the blond man currently standing with Chris, Annie and Nichelle. "You could make it."

"I didn't want to miss the ceremony, but it was touch and go with my schedule." He hugged her fiercely as soon as she reached him and kissed the top of her head. "I hadn't wanted to give you false hopes in case I would stay stuck in Chicago. I just told Mom when I finally landed. How is my favorite cousin doing? You look gorgeous by the way."

"I'm wonderful. You remember Victor of course. Julian is the son of my father's only sister." Bonnie quickly explained and she beamed up at him. Both men shook hands and Julian quickly waved everyone around him. "We grew up together. We were always thick as thieves, but my wonderful surgeon cousin is now living in Chicago and we all hate it. You have to come back to LA, you just have to!"

She hugged him fiercely and he chuckled at her enthusiasm.

"Oh shoot." She turned to Tan with a worried look. "We have to find Julian a place for lunch. What are we going to do? The family table is already packed. Can we add one more chair?"

"Bonnie, I don't have to be on that table." He turned towards Chris with a smile. "Maybe there is still room at your table, Chris. It's probably easier to add another chair and silverware on one of those round tables anyway."

"Oh that would be perfect." Bonnie clapped her hands and hugged her cousin once more. "I'm sure Chris will take good care of you."

Street bit his lower lip as he watched the whole exchange. He noticed the rapid eye roll Chris sent his way but she quickly tutored her features and nodded to both cousins with a smile. He sighed and wondered what there was with Bonnie, her family and friends; they seemed to have colluded to make this day unbearable for him. Today couldn't end quickly enough in his book.

Street resolutely walked towards the round tables in the dining area. Tan had told him he was supposed to be seated at the Orchid table and he quickly checked the placement cards. He saw his name and one of Tan's friend from the Police Academy. At least he wouldn't be the only cop at the table but It seemed all the other names were female and he groaned. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Chris sitting down two tables away. He quickly exchanged his card with Eddy's as there was no way he was going to spend several hours turning his back on Chris. With a satisfied smile he sat down, looked at his girlfriend, and winked at her. Her smile broadened.

Rapidly the other guests filled the seats around them. He saw the confusion on the faces of two of the bridesmaids, Anna and Jenny as they hesitantly sat down next to Eddy. He grabbed the glass of water in front of him and drank so that they could not see his amused grin. He cleared his throat and smiled sweetly at the neighbor on his left, a redhead by the name of Sally. At least he had partially dodged the two clingy blondes. As he wondered who was going to be seated on his right, he saw as a waiter was rearranging the tableware next to Chris. Sure enough Julian appeared a glass of champagne in one hand and a chair in the other. As soon as the server was finished, he thanked him and sat down and he couldn't help but shoot daggers at the man's back.

"I'm pretty sure you weren't supposed to sit here." An amused voice said on his right and his eyes shot up to look at the woman who had just spoken.

"What makes you say that?" He wondered with a cheeky smirk. He recognized one of Bonnie's friends he had met at one of Tan's parties. Sarah was a no-nonsense kind of gal and he was thanking his lucky star.

"I put the name tags on those tables not two hours ago, James Street." She took his card and dangled it in front of him.

"Well you made an honest mistake, but I don't blame you." She snorted and looked at the two women on the other side of the table.

"You'll have to pay a drink to your friend because that was one miserable trick you played on him." She spoke in a low voice.

"I'll think about it." Street laughed.

"So what is it with the weird colors I see?" Julian wondered as he was eating his steak.

"Oh you mean your cousin's dress code?" When he nodded, Chris chuckled. "Well the newlyweds chose a tropical theme. So green was the color of the first circle."

"Not that I'm complaining as this dress is stunning on you, but really?" He shook his head.

"Well in fact two groups needed to be in green, on one side everyone linked to 20-David and on the other the bridesmaids and their plus-ones."

"What is 20-David?" He wondered aloud. "Sorry I probably sound like an idiot, it's been a while since I have been last briefed by Bonnie. I think she had given up hope that I could attend. And I'm probably not wearing the right color…"

"20-David is our SWAT Team. You know Tan or Victor is SWAT right?"

"Yeah of course… so you're SWAT because you're not a plus one." He added with a sultry voice.

"I am SWAT." She confirmed with a smirk.

"A woman in SWAT?" A dark haired man sitting at the neighboring table laughed loudly. "I didn't think that existed. What are you doing? Preparing the weapons for the guys? Or make sure they uniforms are properly ironed?"

Her eyes automatically went to Street and she saw as he scrunched up his eyes when he stared at the other man.

"I'm part of the intervention team." When the man snorted disbelievingly, she snickered. "Want to check how fast I can subdue you?"

He seized her from head to toe and shook his head.

"You really think you could do that? I mean I'm probably twice as big as you…"

At this point Chris didn't really care that he was probably half drunk or more. If he wanted his ass served on a plate, it was fine with her.

"I guess it would take me about four seconds considering that I'm wearing heels and a dress.

Stand up and we'll check." She moved towards him with a smirk and the man rose a little unsteadily to the task.

"Hey Chris, did someone challenge you?" She turned around and saw Luca standing up to have a better look. "You go, girl!"

The rest of the team as well as 50-David stood up and cheered her on. She raised one arm and laughed.

"Oh I will definitely go." At her last retort, she had the satisfaction to see the man go pale.

"Hey Gerald, I think you bit off more than you can chew." One of the man's friends burst out laughing.

"Okay…" He finally said taking a step back as she moved forward. "So maybe I spoke a little too fast…"

"Oh come on, man. You can't bow out now." Street was standing just behind him to prevent his retreat and it obviously startled Gerald. "I'm sure you don't want to look like a coward in front of all your friends. She's just a girl after all. What did you said Chris? Four seconds? I'm betting you can do that in two."

She smirked at him and walked forward. Soon Gerald was stuck between both officers. His eyes went from one to the other and after a few second, he raised his hand and shook his head.

"Well I believe you." He gulped uncomfortably. "I spoke without thinking. I had too much booze."

He finished his sentence looking at Street as to get his approval.

"Apologize to the lady! She's the one who would have whooped your ass." He pointed at Chris. "Not that I wouldn't have loved to do it myself. But as I rule I don't spoil my friends' pleasure."

"I apologize, I really mean it… I didn't think. It won't happen again." Gerald slipped to his place without a further glance to the two agents.

"Damn Chris I didn't think he would chicken out." He raised his fist and she bumped it with her own. "Now you're disappointed. Twice in a day…"

"I'll survive."

She squinted her eyes at his cheeky last comment and walked back to her place, swaying her hips as she did so, certain his eyes wouldn't leave her form until she reached her table.

"Do you really think that your colleague could have overpowered Gerald?" Anna wondered when Street back at their table.

"Chris?" He chuckled. "Oh yes definitely he was no match for her. Even in high heels, it would not have taken her long to put him flat on his back. We're training every day to face people who won't go down easily. With or without weapon you need to know what to do to subdue a suspect. When SWAT rolls in it's usually because regular police forces are not enough. No offense, man."

"None taken." Eddy said with nod. "I know when to wait for SWAT. We all have specific training and skill sets. While I'm a good shooter I doubt my scores would impress you. Weren't you Master Gunner last year?"

"Yeah it was a tight fight. I still think that if Chris had let me teach her my little trick she would have won… But she was stubborn and wanted to do it all by herself. We'll see this year. I like challenges."

"She finished second?" Eddy wondered. "Wow and then she won the TLI competition, didn't she?"

"Yup and she went to Germany for additional training. She was the best on the West Coast, so when you have an idiot who asks her if she's ironing our uniforms that doesn't go down well with any of us." Street explained ardently. "I was the closest so I took position but anyone from the team would have done the same. We're family and you don't joke with that."

"Your colleague is really badass." Anna skipped in when Street finished talking. "I wish I were like that."

"You're a kindergarten teacher." Jenny noted. "What good would that be to you?"

"Well obviously if I were like Chris I wouldn't be a kindergarten teacher." She replied instantly rolling her eyes at her friend.

"Eddy told us he was Major Crimes division and you are SWAT like Victor. It must very exciting." Jenny wondered. "Where were you before SWAT Jim?"

"I was working at Long Beach Police Department, I was just a regular cop."

"It's still impressive." Anna batted her eyelashes his way and he couldn't help but quickly look to see what Chris was doing. For once she wasn't deep in conversation with her neighbor but was looking his way. She rolled her eyes when she caught his gaze on her and he had to bit his lower lip to avoid laughing.

"You're easily impressed." He lazily drawled. "Tan was Vice before he joined SWAT and Chris was K9 officer."

"But I'm not interested in them." She finally added with a wink.

Her friend Jenny gasped at her friend's boldness and Eddy took a big gulp of water. For a moment, he was lost for words as he gaped at the blonde bridesmaid. Suddenly Sarah burst out laughing drawing all the gazes on her.

"Oh girl you really can't take a hint." She finally said shaking her head.
