So here we are with chapter 6. As promised we're back with our favorite couple but also with Luca. I had planned to add the smut right away, but knowing myself this will be overly long as usual so I rather stop here and I'll post a 6b chapter in a couple of days. This way those of you who don't like that will be able to ignore the whole chapter and move to the next one right away.

Street sighed and checked his watch again. Last night Luca had called Chris. He had told her about his Bierfest idea for a party with the team and she had readily agreed to help them with the preparations. She was supposed to come over in the next minutes and he was more than impatient to see her outside of work again. The week since the wedding had been brutal with many interventions for all the SWAT teams and they hadn't had any time to see each other since the previous Sunday. Luca's question about his disappearance during the ceremony had been an unwelcome wakeup call. They had agreed they needed to be discreet to avoid detection.

Now a few minutes ago, his roommate had received a call and had quickly exited the house to talk with his correspondent in the backyard. Luca was behaving strangely lately and despite Chris' assurance that he was imagining things, he couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off and up. He stood up from the couch and went to the window. A smile appeared on his face when he finally spotted Chris' truck making its way towards the house and parking next to Luca's. He gave a last look to where his roommate had disappeared and rushed to the front door. He opened it as she was locking her car and making her way toward the house. When she saw him, a smile appeared on her face. He quickly ushered her inside and closed the door behind them. He grinned broadly when he placed his hand behind her nape and playfully brushed his lips against hers several times. She giggled and pushed him slightly away. Her eyes roamed the house as she stayed close to him.

"Where is Luca?" She wondered with a frown. "Didn't he tell me to come over now?"

"He got a phone call a few minutes ago." He shrugged. "He mumbled something and rushed outside. He's probably pacing the backyard and arguing with whoever is calling."

Chris sighed and looked at the door with a pout, before turning her eyes back to Street.

"So what is this whole story about this Bierfest or Oktoberfest?" She wondered. "To be honest I'm not sure I got the concept when he explained it to me yesterday."

He sighed and pushed a strand of her hair behind her ear.

"I think it's part of their weird conspiracy…"

"What?" Chris giggled as she took his hand and made her way to the living room, pulling him behind her.

"They are up to something, I'm telling you."

"Come on, you can't be serious." She shook her head disbelievingly. She placed her bag on the couch and faced him again. "We have already discussed that. You have this impression because we have something to hide. So you imagine they also do, you're just projecting."

"No I'm telling you something is up with them. Luca is having weird calls with at least Annie, Deac and Nichelle. I mean, does he have them next to me? No, he goes to his room or outside. Last time he called me in, they were having a video call on his computer. And they didn't finish their conversation with me present. They hushed me out and I heard them laugh several times. That's not normal behavior if they're just planning a party at our house."

"Okay, I admit that's strange. But what would they be planning?"

"Your guess is as good as mine. But you and I are not included and I find that very suspicious."

"You think they know about us?" She frowned trying to figure out what could have given them away.

"Maybe…" He shrugged. "Luca keeps mentioning you and Julian… I wonder if he doesn't do that just to rile me up and see how I'll react."

"Seems to be working." She smirked as she bumped playfully into him and he simply chuckled.

"Okay guilty as charged, the guy irks me."

"You know you have nothing to worry, right."

"Yes of course but still it's damn annoying that Luca keeps mentioning him as if he had a special relationship with you."

"He's good decoy." She explained. "As long as he thinks, I'm interested in Julian he won't look for anyone else in my life and he won't get suspicious about us. Who cares about Bonnie's cousin?"

Street was about to agree when they heard the door to the backyard open and close loudly on an irate Luca. He was grumbling under his breath. When he raised his eyes and saw Chris standing in the living room, his expression changed immediately and a bright smile appeared on his face.

"Chris! You're already here?" He checked his watch with a frown and shook his head in annoyance. "Damn I didn't think I had spent that much time on the phone. Sorry it was Terry, he has a new venture idea he wanted to discuss with me. I swear I told him about five times I needed to hang up but he had problems getting the cue."

He moved towards the young woman and gave her a heartfelt hug. She patted his back and smiled at him when he released her.

"Don't worry, Street was keeping me company." She reassured him. "Not that he was very helpful in explaining what this Bierfest is about."

"Hey I resent that. Complain to the right person." The young officer retorted right away in good humor. He slightly shoved her and Luca chuckled when Chris stuck her tongue at him. "He didn't explain his genius idea to me."

"Okay let me clarify." Luca said excitedly. He watched as Street let himself fall heavily on the couch while Chris grabbed her bag to extract a notepad and a pen. She sat down on the floor so that she could write on the coffee table. He chose an armchair for himself and leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. "A notepad?"

"Well as far as I remember you guys don't have Bluetooth printer so the fastest way to leave you both a to-do list is to write everything down on paper. I'll photograph each list and convert everything to a file once I'm home. So shoot, explain to me your great idea."

"As I said last night, we were thinking about organizing another team gathering during one of our days off. I thought as we had been to Germany and we had enjoyed the food there that we could use that as a theme for our party. You know fresh beers, some sausages to grill on the barbecue, German music, and stuff like that…"

"Yeah that's actually a good idea. I'm sure we can find all we need pretty easily." She nodded as she took notes on her pad. "So let's start with the important questions. First one when are we going to organize it? Second who are you planning to invite and so how many people are we talking about? This house isn't tiny but it's not exactly a palace."

"The date is easy we're all off Sunday in two weeks. I was thinking that would give us enough time to organize the gathering and send the invites on time so people can block the day." Luca said with a smile. "As for the who, I imagined we would extend the invitations to all SWAT teams… well obviously 60 David will be working so the officers won't be able to attend, but maybe their families would like to join. 50 David will be on call but they should be able to join unless they already have other plans. I already discuss with our team and they will all attend."

"Okay that's potentially a lot of people." Chris frowned as she started writing down the names of the different people with the number of people they would come with, spouses and children. "I suppose you'll extent the invite to Hicks and Lynch."

She lounged back and rested part of her weight against Street's leg. When she realized what she was doing in front of Luca, she coughed quickly straightening and she started writing again, hoping her face hadn't blushed too much.

"You need to get an accurate number of people who will attend. We will need that to know how many tables and benches will be required so that everyone will be comfortable. And of course that will also tell us how much food and beverages we will need to buy." She tapped her pen against her lips as she was counting. "What's the maximum number of people you had in this house at the same time?"

"I think we had once a party with about sixty people." Luca looked at Street for confirmation.

"And that was at least ten people too many. The house was packed." He recalled with a shudder. "We should not aim at having more than fifty people here. There will be children, while the neighborhood has improved since we moved here, we will still need to be careful."

"Good point, the children. We will need to have something to entertain them."

"Damn this is getting complicated." Luca sighed and he scratched his head. "I hadn't thought about all those things. I just thought music, beer and food."

"Well about food, I'm starving." Chris told him seriously. "Am I supposed to work here with you guys on an empty stomach?"

She turned around, looking at Street, and then back at Luca. The younger man stood up and took his phone.

"I'll order pizza and we'll work while we eat."

Street placed the empty boxes of pizza on their kitchen counter and watched as Chris was filling yet another page in her notebook. They had been working for almost two hours and he was getting weary of all the things that needed to be done to organize the party at the house. With a sigh, he walked back to the living room and resumed his position on the couch. The neat stacks of paper were organized in three piles, one for each of them. Each time Chris finished a list, she snapped a picture before placing it on one of the piles with a satisfied grin. She was about to take a new shot when Luca's phone rang. Their gazes fell on the older man as he checked the caller ID. He gasped loudly and unlocked the phone to answer hurriedly the call.

"Melissa?" Chris and Street exchanged knowing looks when they heard the woman's name and smirked. "Calm down. What happened exactly?"

Without thinking, Luca walked towards his bedroom as he continued a hushed conversation with his girlfriend.

"I bet you ten dollars that he will come back and leave us because she needs his help." Street whispered in her ear and she chuckled.

"I'm not betting he'll definitely rush to her as soon as this call is finished."

She leaned once more against his leg and rested her head on his knee. Street's hand rested on her head as his fingers ran through her hair. Chris sighed happily and after rubbing her cheek against his knee straightened again. A few moments later Luca appeared again with a concerned look on his face. Chris looked at him with concern and waited for their friend to say something.

"I'm sorry I need to leave." His tone was apologetic. "A pipe burst in Melissa's house and she wants me to go over. She's expecting a plumber and she doesn't want to face him alone."

"You know something about burst pipes?" Chris wondered incredulously. "That's progress compared to what you wanted to do to repair the drywalls in this house…"

Behind her Street chuckled as he remembered when she had helped them get the house fixed after Luca had purchased it. The older man shook his head.

"Of course I have no clue. But I can't exactly leave Melissa alone. She's completely stressed out by what happened. She needs my moral support."

"And it's a great excuse to leave us here and finish your work for you." She chided him. Luca had the good idea to look sheepish and bit his lower lip. "You wanted to have this party. Street and I didn't ask for anything."

"Look I'm sorry, I really wish I could stay but I already told Melissa I would come." He said uneasily. "I'll make it up to you guys. Just leave me the worst tasks and I'll do everything without complaints."

"That would be too easy… you have to take some of my armory cleaning duties at HQ too… I'd say that's at least worth two weeks of that. This is my day off after all."

"Okay, okay. It's a deal." He said quickly as he grabbed his car keys. "Sorry but I really need to go."

"When are you going to be back? Should I wait for you?" Chris pushed, knowing he would use the opportunity to stay at his girlfriend's.

"Well to be honest I was planning to spend the night at her place…" He nervously scratched his head as he was looking at his friends. "We're having brunch with some of her friends tomorrow. Listen I'll take your cleaning duties for three weeks. Deal?"

"Okay…" She said hesitantly as if she was pondering how good a deal his offer really was. "See you on Monday unless we're called in tomorrow."

The older man waved at them and quickly disappeared through the door before they could add anything else.

"That was smooth. You drive a hard bargain when you want." Street chuckled as he took in her satisfied smile. "I'm very impressed."

"Yeah says the guy who is always asking me for compensation."

"Which you always give me very willingly."

She chuckled and stood up. Without a word, she rummaged through her bag to retrieve her car keys. She quickly walked to the door and disappeared outside for a moment. When she came back, she had a black bag on her shoulder and a bright smile on her lips.

"What is that?" He wondered with a smirk.

"That my dear is an overnight bag." She said matter-of-factly. "We're on call tomorrow and there's no way I'll show up with today's clothes if we're called in. A girl has to be prepared."

With that, she walked resolutely to his bedroom and opened the upper drawer of his dresser. Street leaned against the doorframe as he took in what she was doing. She hummed a little uncertainly before grabbing a pile of T-shirts. She quickly opened the second drawer and pushing his briefs aside to make room for his garments.

"You know I usually don't let girls reorganize my stuff." He joked pointing at the piece of furniture.

"Girls?" She looked at him and crossed her arms in front of her with squinted eyes.

"Okay terrible choice of words… Obviously not what I meant." He backpaddled quickly. "You know I'm absolutely terrible at jokes."

"Yeah I'll let it slide because you're pretty." He chuckled at her comment and watched as she used the now freed spot to rearrange several items from her bag in the dresser. When she was satisfied, she closed the drawer and looked at him.

"So do you want to work some more right now and are we going to have a well-deserved break?"

"I suppose that saying I want to go on working isn't going to earn me any cookie points especially after my lame attempt at a joke?" She shook her head at him and he laughed. "So we definitely need a break, what are you proposing?"

She cast a smiling glance at his bed and he chuckled.

"Of course what a stupid question."
