Greetings, dear readers. Happy New Year, and welcome back to All I Want For Christmas is a Pokémon! So, last time, looks like a lot happened. From the unfortunate shocking of AJ to Alex having potential help dealing with the Squirtle, sure seems like a lot happened for our Pokémonless Chickbusters. How will things go after all of that craziness? Read on to find out, and I hope you all enjoy, my dolls. =)
As Kelsey watched her Chansey heal AJ, she heard a sudden bit of sniffling behind her. Turning around, the attendant saw that the source of the sniffles was a lightly sobbing Pikachu. Moving close to the Electric mouse, Kelsey said "Hey, Pikachu, don't worry. AJ's going to be okay. My friend Chansey here is going to help AJ feel much better" as she rubbed his back in a bid to help calm the Pokémon down.
"Pi Pika?" he asked around a sniffle.
"Yes, I'm sure, Pikachu. Just watch. Chansey's like a doctor. She's great at helping other people and their Pokémon feel better. Trust me, AJ's going to be okay."
"P-Pik Pi," the Electric mouse nodded as he wiped at his eyes and watched where the human named AJ was lying on the ground with the Pokémon named Chansey beside her. As he watched what was happening, all he could do was hope. Hope that the Pokémon named Chansey would heal her. Hope that the human named AJ would be okay. And hope that the human named AJ wouldn't give up on him and tell him to leave her.
She honestly didn't know what the hell she was even thinking in that moment. All AJ wanted to do was stop a battle from breaking out. …She didn't think she'd get shocked for her troubles.
So here she laid. Twitching. Groaning. Feeling the effects of getting hit by an Electric-type attack. …And then slowly feeling the jolts that still coursed through her start to fade away, replaced by a more calming feeling, almost as if she was getting healed by something. 'W-Well, I guess I can c-cross getting sh-shocked by a P-Pikachu off of my bucket list,' the brunette thought, a slight giggle rumbling in her chest.
And after what seemed like forever but was really about 30 minutes, she started to feel better. Feeling as though all of the shocks were gone, AJ slowly pushed herself up into a seated position as she looked around.
"Oh thank goodness. You're back. That's a relief," Kelsey smiled from beside the brunette.
"Y-Yeah, I guess I am," AJ said with a slight laugh as she turned to the Training Zone attendant only to be caught by surprise by the Pokémon beside her. "I'm guessing the Chansey here is one of your partners?"
"Yep. This here is one of my partners, and one of my oldest and closest friends," the dyed attendant smiled as she threw an arm around the pink Pokémon.
"Chanse Chansey," the pink healer said with a smile of her own.
Laughing a bit as she then looked around, AJ couldn't help but notice that someone was missing. "Hey, Kelsey. I don't mean to be rude, but …where's Pikachu?"
…
As she listened to her brother go on about possible ways of dealing with this Squirtle, she took a closer look at the Water-type Pokémon and couldn't help but notice what looked like bandages wrapped around one of its arms, one of its legs, and a section of its tail. 'Oh man. Poor guy. It looks like it might be hurt. Maybe we oughta try to get it to a Pokémon center somewhere near here. …That is, once we can possibly catch it,' the brunette thought. She was almost about to say something when she heard two voices behind her, one asking "Alex? Jeff? What's going on? Is everything okay?" and the second asking "Mar Mari Mar?" Turning around to look behind her and seeing who the voices belonged to, Alex said "Layla! Perfect timing! I need your help with something. Something important."
"'Something important'? Like what exactly, love?" the Brit asked.
Trying not to draw attention to herself, Alex moved over to the older brunette and, pointing at the turtle Pokémon ahead of them, said "That Squirtle. I'm fairly certain that it was behind the ice patches some folks here have had the bad luck of slipping and sliding on. Now, Jeff brought up a good point about not battling it in here-"
"And, with me and Marill having come along, you just got the idea for Marill to use Sing on the poor dear?" the Brit cut in, interrupting Alex.
"It'd be pretty awesome of you if you did," Alex said, flashing her best pout to the older woman.
Seeing the look on one of her younger friend's face, Layla couldn't help but laugh a bit before saying "You'd better be glad I can't say No to that face. Don't worry. We'll do our best to help catch it."
"Thanks so much for your help, Lay," Alex said in relief.
"No problem at all, Alex. Let's just hope your bonkers idea works," the Brit said, moving to step forward with Marill beside her.
"I hope so too, Lay. I hope so too," the younger brunette nervously said.
Staying on his guard with Splat doing the same, it surprised Jeff a bit when he looked to his left and saw Layla and Marill beside him. A laugh escaping him, the rainbow-haired wrestler said "Let me guess. Lexi somehow managed to talk y'all into helping us out with our Squirtle problem?"
"Well, it seems only the nice thing to do. Better we be the ones to catch it than someone comes along and tries to battle the poor thing," the Brit said as she looked to the taller man. Seeing that he may have been about to say something, Layla held up a hand and said "Don't, Jeffrey, I'm well aware of what you want to say. But, no need to worry. Alex had the idea that I get Marill to use Sing to help put the turtle here to sleep."
"That …actually sounds like a pretty good idea. I'm guessing you're gonna need some help here?"
"I think I might. Just to distract the Squirtle and not damage anything."
A grin starting to cross his face, the rainbow-haired wrestler said "Distracting is one of my talents. Just tell me what you want me to do."
Holding back a sudden snicker, the Brit said "Well. How about you have Splat try to make nice with the Squirtle? Maybe have him offer it some of those Berries that are lying over there?"
"Good idea, Lay," Jeff nodded. Putting his part of the Brit's plan into motion, he slowly made his way over to where his Poképartner stood and knelt down to his level. "Hey, Splat. You see the Berries Lexi has out? How's about you go try and share them with Squirtle? See if it'll take any? And if that doesn't work, use Sketch to defend yourself in case it attacks. Again, that's only if Squirtle attacks."
"Smea Smear," Splat nodded. Turning his attention to the blue Pokémon, he took a breath before making his way back over to the Berries. Doing his best to be friendly, Splat said "Smeargle. Smeargle Smea Smea Smear. (Hi. My name's Smeargle.)"
"Sq-Squirt, Squirtle Squirt (H-Hi, I'm Squirtle.)," the blue Pokémon nervously said, its stance staying the same.
Reaching down and grabbing one of the Berries, this one being a pink Berry that looked like a peach, Splat slowly held the fruit out to the turtle Pokémon as he asked "Smea Smear Smea Smea? (Do you want a Berry?)"
A Berry? This Pokémon was offering it a Berry? The Squirtle couldn't believe its luck! …But, it had to be careful. This could be some kind of trick. Slowly, it reached out and grabbed the Berry before quickly bringing it over and up to its mouth where it then began to eat the sweet fruit.
Seeing how the Squirtle ate the Berry, Splat reached down for another before doing the same thing with the same result as before. A light laugh escaping him, the bipedal Pokémon asked "Smear Smear Smeag? (You liking those?)"
Nodding as it ate a blue Berry, the Squirtle said "Squirtle! Squirt Squirtle Squirt! (Yeah! These taste so good!)"
"Smea. Smeargle Smear Smea Smea? (Good. Do you want some more?)"
Not wanting to talk as it was eating a Berry that looked like a pear, Squirtle nodded.
"Smeargle! Smeargle Smear Smea Smea Smea (Great! If you come with me, I can get you some more.)," Splat said as he waved for the turtle Pokémon to follow him.
This felt like a dilemma. Should it stay how it was and run away from this nice Pokémon? Or should it follow it and hopefully get more Berries? Oh, what should it do what should it do what should it do?!
…
Kaitlyn had wanted to tag along with AJ and Kelsey to help out with Pikachu's training, but she decided to hang back. 'I wouldn't want AJ to think I was gonna be a distraction or anything like that. Besides, I'm sure everything's going well out there. I wonder which moves they've been practicing. Maybe she decided to start off with Tackle. Or maybe Quick Attack? Or maybe she just decided to jump on to testing out how strong Pikachu's Electric-type moves are. If so, I wonder which o-' "Hmm? What is it, Bulby? What's up?" the two-toned woman asked as she looked down to her Poképartner after feeling a tap on her shoulder.
"Sa. Sa Bul Bulba," Bulby said as she pointed one of her vines in the direction of where a commotion could be heard.
Not knowing just what the Grass-type was trying to say, it wasn't until she listened to what was going in.
"OK. Whose Pokémon is this? Can the Trainer of a Pikachu please come collect their Pokémon from the Medical Area?" a male voice could be heard asking over the Training Zone intercom.
'A Pikachu? …Wait. Could that be AJ's Pikachu? Maybe I oughta go see it,' the two-toned woman thought before she left the indoor Rest Area with Bulby following her. The pair had only a short distance to go before they reached their destination. Breathing a sigh of relief, Kaitlyn said "Sparky! There you are. You had me worried sick."
"I take it this is your Pikachu, ma'am?" the Medical Area attendant asked.
"He is, Will," the two-toned woman said after reading the man's name tag and picking up the Electric mouse. "Thanks so much for finding him. I was just calling my other Pokémon back into their balls when I'm guessing he wasn't ready to come back yet."
"Well, that's understandable, miss. But, next time, make sure you call all of your Pokémon back to avoid any problems or trouble. Especially this little guy here. He seemed pretty upset about something when I found him."
'Upset? I wonder what could've made Pikachu upset,' the two-toned woman thought while she said "Yeah, well, don't worry. I'll make sure to keep my eyes on him from now on. Thanks for finding him."
"No problem, Miss," Will said with a nod. "I hope you've found our Training Center helpful for what you and your Pokémon were hoping to get done today."
"You could say that, Will, you could say that," Kaitlyn nodded. "Now, come on, Sparky. Let's go. And again, thanks for helping find him for me."
"It's no problem. Just make sure to keep a closer eye on him," the attendant called after the departing trio.
Simply tossing a wave behind her, Kaitlyn, Bulby, and Pikachu made their way back to the rest area. Wanting to find out why Pikachu was even in here, she set him down on a nearby table before asking "So, Pikachu. What brings you inside? How'd you and AJ's training go?" But, as soon as she asked the Electric mouse that, she would soon come to regret it.
So, it looks like there were some ups and downs this chapter. AJ got healed of when her shocking, Alex got some help in trying to catch the wild Squirtle, and said Squirtle seemed to be making a friend with Splat through the sharing of Berries (how cute). But, unfortunately, it would appear as though our dear Electric boi is upset about something after Kaitlyn found him. I wonder what? So, it looks we've got some stuff to look out for next time. From AJ looking for Pikachu to what comes next for Squirtle to Kaitlyn trying to help Pikachu, looks like our Chickbusters are gonna have their hands full. And just how will all of this go? We shall find out...next time. Until then, don't forget to RR please. =)
(Stay safe, warm, and healthy out there, lovelies. *sends love and positive vibes out to you all*)
(I'd just like to take the time here to say rest in peace to Jay Briscoe, one half of The Briscoes tag team. He and his brother Mark have had some damn good matches over the course of their careers with their trilogy of matches against FTR last year being some of the best I've ever seen. Jay will never be forgotten as he was truly a great from his matches to his overall self. Rest in peace and paradise, Jay, and thank you for sharing your work with us fans over the years. My thoughts, prayers, and condolences go out to his family in this truly awful time. #RIPJayBriscoe #DemBoyzForever)
