Temari was the definition of a snorer. Shikamaru never mind it, if fact he thought it was cute and managed to drown out the noise. So Temari knew to snore uncontrollably to pretend that she was sleep.

"I know that you're up, and I know that you heard everything" Shikamaru said to her as he pressed a kiss on her forehead before climbing into bed a wrapping her arms around her to bring her body as close to his as possible.

Temari couldn't believe it. She was essentially invisible. Not one step or breath could be heard. So how the hell could he possibly have known. And before she could ask him how he would have known, Shikamaru told her.

"I wasn't sure actually. You're so quiet but you bathe in every lavender product possible. Lavender soap, lavender body scrub, lavender lotion. I could smell you a mile away. I'm pretty sure Sai hadn't noticed, he would've stopped talking. I'm sure about that" Shikamaru was just so used to Temari that he could sense her in any situation. And as much as Temari hated feeling compromised as a ninja, she loved feeling noticed by a partner. So she turned to him and now they were looking each other in the eyes.

"Gaara tells me everything." Temari assured Shikamaru before a tear fell from her eye. Shikamaru could hear her voice quaking. He has never heard her be that rattled. The only thing that he could do was pull her in even more close. "Suna means the world to me and I know that I'll eventually be a citizen of Konoha. But if I have to go back home so that we can work out Suna's finances then I'll just have to go back-"

"And I'll go back with you" Shikamaru reassured her by applying pressure into the hugging position that they were already in. He then wiped her tears because the one thing he hated was when the women in his life cried because he wasn't used to it. "But we'll find a way to increase Suna's revenue."

"How? Out of all the five ninja villages we lack the most resources." Temari knew the Suna's import was mostly reliant on their 'exotic' produce. Kirigakure has a plethora of sea creatures to trade as food, diamond is easily found in iwagakue and kumohakure as well as a number of other minerals. And konoha is field with fresh water and wood to trade. Suna just has Sand. And this was a fear Temari had as the villages began developing.

"As soon as Sai told me, I knew that we would have to come up with ideas. So tomorrow we'll have all day to think of ideas. So get some rest okay?"

Temari was already asleep by time he said okay. She knew that Shikamaru has never let her down and if he said he'll help figure it out, then she knew to take his word.

The hotel they stayed in offered many amenities such as a pool, a restaurant and a bar. It even had a small theater which Sai and Ino had went to to watch a movie.

Kankuro immediately woke up and headed to the pool to see if he could find a women to spend the day with. And Temari and Shikamaru was stuck in his room trying to help with Suna. So far they couldn't come up with anything and Shikamaru has never been this Stumped. He knew that they were out sourcing sand as much as they could but it had to be something else.

"I swear all we have is sand and wind" Temari left the room in frustration, going to get something to eat. Could see the frown and could see that anger in her eyes once again was turning into tears. He sensed that she didn't want him to see her cry again.

"Ughh" Shikamaru groaned before taking a cigarette out of the box to smoke it. But the word wind resonated with him a whole time as she left the room. And before she could come back, he pulled a book from his bag to show Temari. He lit the cigarette, but instead of feeling stressed out, that drag felt like a reward.

"What the hell Shika, I was only gone for 15 minutes to pick up some food from the restaurant and already you've been through two cigarettes." Temari sighed as she placed a bottle of beer and a bowl of udon in front of Shikamaru. But she noticed that he was smiling now, instead of having a look of worry on his face. "What the hell are you smiling about?"

Shikamaru slid the book in front of Temari as she broke her chopsticks in half. "What's this?" Temari questioned him before taking the book and reading through it.

"Remember how I had to have a meeting with our clan to put those panels on our roofs, because they get majority of the energy from the sun. And is less harmful to the environment?"

"You're the one who invented those panels so of course I remember and so far the collective bill for the Nara clan had decreased dramatically." Temari was already aware of the panels but wasn't sure how they worked. She was in Suna when Shikamaru developed the solar panels, but was confused about what they had to do with her. "But how does this help Suna?"

"Well if we can use the Sun as energy, why can't we use wind...I mean when you use your fan your able to enhance your wind and generate chakra-"

"But all ninja tools can help direct not enhance chakra." Temari reassured him, reminding him that her fan didn't do anything but display her chakra.

"You're right, I should have chosen my words better but you're able to direct the chakra and generate wind, but let's do the opposite. Let's take wind and make energy." Temari could see the wheels turning in Shikamaru's mind and knew that this idea was going to be tested.

"But how our we going to turn wind into energy?" Temari questioned as she slurped some ramen from her chop sticks.

"Through fans, but like a typical house fan. I guarantee that this will work Tem, just give me some time to sketch it up."

"I will but for right now let's eat." Shikamaru couldn't argue with that, so he put his cigarette out and ate his cooled down udon noodles.
