And on it goes.

Before you read this chapter though, a little info on what happens next before we get to the third season arc.

After this chapter comes:

- Release the Demons

follows by a fan episode with King Dice, Henchman and Amnon

Dead Broke

Rats All Folks

three fan episodes

Lost in the Woods and The Devils Trident.

Say Cheese is edited like Baby Bottle so that means the big focus is more on Alicia, Blood and Cuppy.

For those wondering why I don't find the boss fights that hard (really Grim and The Howling Aces are a piece of cake for me) it's because I probably grew up playing games where one hit means you're dead and you didn't always have the option to save right away. Also, you learn the bosses better by heart afterwards and watching videos doesn't really help as much as fighting them yourself.

As I said the bosses are not difficult for me and am just about to beat them all in Expert mode with S-Rank so wish me luck ^^'

Gemwing2012 - My favorite fairy tales but also my absolute hate fairy tales are Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf and the Seven Little Kids. I find a predator as a "villain" to call not particularly nice when you consider that actually the two mothers left their children alone or sent them into the forest. But I also like Frau Holle and Cinderella.

Until then

In Inkwell Hell the atmosphere was almost the same as always. The Imps were working, the demons were torturing and tormenting the souls and the prisoners and it was hot. Very hot to be exact. So hot that some of the weakened prisoners suddenly started to melt like butter and became a puddle of themselves. But one did not mind. The Imps and Demons stopped their work when they heard a familiar singing.

Heedle, heedle, heedle, heedle.

All of them turned around to an opening that gave way to a corridor from where a shadow could be seen that became smaller and smaller the closer it came. The same was true for the chanting that no longer resounded but became quieter. But the Imps and Demons were still confused and wondered who came out of the passage.

Scoobah-doo-doo be-doo-zay-ah,

The chanting stopped when a figure came out of the corridor, walking loosely, and passed by the Imps and Demons, paying no attention to them. It was King Dice. The latter made his way to the throne room and couldn't help but dance on the way there. This pleased the Imps and Demons very much, which is why they stopped their work and followed him. In front of the door to the throne room he stopped and did another dance and finished his song while bowing to the Imps and Demons. These clapped and were very enthusiastic about his performance and clapped for him while some still whistled and asked for an encore. "Thank you, thank you my friends" said King Dice as he bowed and waved to the Imps and Demons. "As much as I would like to continue singing and dancing for you, I must decline as the boss is waiting for me" said King Dice as he opened and closed the door behind him while the Imps and Demons went back to work.

Arriving in the throne room, King Dice saw the devil sitting on his throne while he was brooding. His thoughts were only with Alicia, whom he wanted to have with him no matter what. She meant a lot to him. After all, she had signed the marriage certificate and now belonged to him and no one else. But his thoughts of Alicia disappeared when he heard the door to his throne room close and someone come up to him. Whether he was happier than before could not really be seen. He still gave King Dice the annoyed look as his supposed number one was on his way. "Morning boss did you sleep well?" he asked him with snapping fingers. But the devil only grumbled more than before.

"What do you want here Dice?" the devil asked him. King Dice, who was no longer smiling, was a bit confused by this statement and looked at the devil, sweating nervously. "You wanted to talk to me, didn't you?" he asked him. The devil thought and it came back to him. He asked him to come to him the next day because of an important order. "Ah, yes, the order," said the devil with a grin. "Yes, and this one is what?" asked King Dice who closed his eyes and continued grinning while hiding his arms behind his back. "Dice, I want you to bring my dearest Alicia to me," said the devil, which did not please King Dice, so he opened his eyes, startled. "But, but, but she doesn't like me for whatever reason and keeps calling me Psycho Dice" King Dice explained to the devil. "Wouldn't you rather I get the souls of the two cups for you because after all they can't turn into a fire-breathing dragon like you are doing right... now?".

As King Dice put it, the devil was in his dragon form and coiled around him like a snake around its prey. "I don't care what you think Dice you go up there and bring Alicia back to me!" the devil roared as he tightened his grip around King Dice so that he could barely breathe. "But she's going to transform and then she's definitely not coming with me!" King Dice managed to say as he ran out of breath. The devil already suspected that Dice had no chance against Alicia. Her Wyvern form was much stronger than one would think. Dice would rather be burnt toast than just take her in the direction of Inkwell Hell. But the devil still had an ace up his sleeve and gave the now normally breathing King Dice a small bottle. "Make her drink some of this and she won't worry you anymore" he said and gave him the bottle.

King Dice took the bottle and put it in his jacket pocket. "But be careful Dice!" said the devil in a threatening voice, which made Dice twitch. "Only Alicia should drink from the bottle no one else understand?" Dice nodded and immediately made his way to Alicia while the devil couldn't wait to have her with him and start the wedding. But Dice was still confused. How is this bottle going to help me get this girl to the boss? He remembered the incident at Roll the Dice when he got that electric shock when he touched her upper arm. Either way, the boss is counting on me, so don't screw it up, Dice! he said to himself as he walked through the gate that led him to the surface.

He knew approximately where she might be and made his way into town. Or rather the city park. There Alicia and the three cups had arranged to have a picnic. Of course they wanted to rest after the thing with the book and just enjoy the time. After all, it was the beginning of October and it was slowly getting a little colder. But thanks to her hoodie, Alicia felt nothing of the cold. Mugman, however, started shaking and buried himself in Alicia's hoodie, which scared her a bit. "Ah much better" he said which made not only Alicia but also both Cuphead laugh. "I would have hugged you too Mugsy" she said as she lifted the hoodie so he could crawl out of it.

"Yes but I liked it better that way" he said with a flushed face. Both Cupheads couldn't hold back their laughter which made Mugman blush even more than before. But Alicia stroked him on the head so that he calmed down again. There were others in the park who were also enjoying the beautiful weather. It was windy but not too windy. So one could fly a kite. Cuphead did the same. Alicia watched him and did not notice that behind the bushes someone came. It was King Dice who took the bottle out of his jacket pocket and Alicia watched the two Cupheads and Mugman flying the kites. But he had to be patient because Alicia would see him when he secretly adds the contents of the bottle into her cup that was standing on the picnic blanket. "Wait a minute!" said Alicia as she got up and went to the three cups. King Dice took the opportunity to walk over to the picnic blanket while he removed the cork from the bottle opening and poured the contents into the cup that belonged to Alicia. It fell not only into her cup, but also into Cuphead's and Cuppy's. King Dice didn't know this and hid behind the bush again, watching from a distance.

He wanted to surprise her when the potion took effect. Alicia and the others also slowly decided to go on their way and drank the contents of the cups, which pleased King Dice very much. But nothing happened. This confused him a bit. That's why he followed them out of the city into the forest they went to go home again. The potion didn't seem to take effect yet, which confused King Dice even more. He was sure that she had drunk some of it. "Say, shouldn't we pay Blood and the Baroness a visit?" asked Cuppy as the others agreed with him. "I'm sure she'll be glad to see you again Alicia," said Mugman as he led the way with the picnic basket and blanket while the others carried nothing. But suddenly Alicia heard a chirping sound and saw a little robin stuck under a branch having trouble getting free.

"Oh you poor thing" Alicia said as she lifted the branch so the bird could free itself landing on her shoulder and rubbing her head as a sign of gratitude before it flew away. "Someone seems to like you" said Cuphead. "Well no wonder I'd be happy to be freed too" said Alicia as she continued walking. The others walked on as well with Mugman in the lead. King Dice appeared from behind a tree and was watching when he noticed that both Alicia and the two Cupheads began to glow. Alicia didn't even notice the glow until she saw Cuphead and Cuppy, both of whom she knew were up to something. "Um..." before Alicia could say anything she noticed that everything around her was getting bigger and bigger. Or to put it more precisely, she became smaller and smaller until she was as big as a mouse. Oh no don't tell me that... Oh yes the potion works! King Dice was happy about it and went out of his hiding place to pick up his package. "Oh man not again!" said Alicia annoyed as she was shrunk again. Not only were her clothes not shrunk as well, which is why she was now buried under the mountain of clothes that were her hoodie and jeans.

It was clear that Alicia had to think about the Die House thing again. But fortunately, this time she was not the only one who was unintentionally shrunk. When she came out of the sleeve of her hoodie she saw both Cupheads who were also not enthusiastic about the matter. Especially Cuppy who saw that Alicia wasn't really comfortable because she tried to hide the biggest part of her body. She still had her shirt on as well as her underwear but still she felt naked and she didn't like that. "You two have been shrunk too?" asked Alicia of the two Cupheads who just nodded their heads. Well, luckily I'm not alone in this. She exhaled in relief. "Say Alicia" she looked at Cuphead who was confused about her clothes. "Why didn't your hoodie and jeans shrink with you?" Alicia unfortunately didn't know that either. "It's hard for me to tell you myself because unfortunately I don't know" she said.

"Anyway, we can't have you running around like that!" said Cuppy as he reached into his pants pocket and pulled something out. Don't tell me he packed spare clothes. She grabbed her head as she was right. Yes, he had packed extra for her. "Here, Alicia, these should fit you," he said, handing her the clothes, which consisted of a black sweater and navy blue pants. She immediately went into her hoodie to change. She didn't want to be naked anymore. Especially because she was afraid that a certain someone would be interested. No thanks, I don't want Psycho Dice to see me like this. Ready dressed she went out and was glad at least not to be naked anymore. But unfortunately there was another problem. Mugman was not with them and probably did not know that they had shrunk. But to her relief, someone else came. It was the robin that Alicia had freed. It landed next to the three, startling both Cupheads who were hiding behind Alicia. "Hey, big guy, we could use your help," Alicia said as the robin bent down to her as if waiting to hear what she had to say. "Could you please tell our friend Mugman what happened to us?" Alicia asked the bird, who nodded and chirped in agreement before flying away.

"How is that going to help us?" Cuphead asked her. Alicia was about to say something when suddenly two pairs of shoes appeared behind her. The ground shook, causing both Cupheads to fall, but not Alicia, who was still able to hold herself. She turned around and guessed who was behind her. You've got to be kidding me. No, she couldn't miss the purple shoes. Just like the tailcoat when she looked up and saw the grinning face of none other than King Dice. Was she angry? Yes, she was, but before she could do anything, King Dice bent over the three of them. "Well look at that" both Cupheads kept their distance while Alicia just looked annoyed. "Thumbelina and two little mice with in the forest" Alicia rolled her eyes while crossing her arms. She didn't want to look him in the eye or even be near him. "Such a beautiful lady should not be here in the forest" before Alicia could say anything King Dice grabbed her. Oh no Sunny Boy! Alicia tried to avoid his hand.

But he was faster and held her tightly in his hand while Cuphead and Cuppy could only watch. "Let go of me!" she said as King Dice slowly lifted her up to his face that was grinning mischievously again. Will you stop grinning like that or do you want to be made into dice cheese. She growled at him in annoyance. But King Dice did not stop grinning. He even liked to finally hold her in his hand. To be the stronger of the two. Of course, he held her so tightly that he wouldn't be shocked by her devil's mark, which glowed red in the meantime. Yes, she was angry. Very angry indeed. Now I know how Marvin feels. "No darling I won't do that" said King Dice. At the word darling, Alicia got even angrier. It was bad enough that Dice from the book called her that, but that he called her that now literally pissed her off. "Don't call me Darling Psycho Dice!" said Alicia as she changed to her demon form in anger. The tail dangled from his hand. "Ohhh and then what happens if I call you that anyway Darling?" he asked her with a smug smile.

Alicia was boiling with rage and wanted to change into her Wyvern form but it didn't work. What the... She was confused. "Why can't I transform?" she asked herself when she heard King Dice chuckle, which told her that it was his fault, for better or worse. "Well, the boss wants you like this without you fighting back," he said, bending down. "And I'll take you two as a wedding present" King Dice said as he was ready to grab both Cupheads. But Alicia reacted quickly and did the same thing she had done with the other King Dice. She bit in his thumb causing him to drop her screaming in pain. But Alicia landed softly on the ground. Or rather on the back of the two Cupheads.

"Thanks guys" she said as she got up from them. "You're welcome Alicia" said Cuphead. But the danger was not over yet. Den King Dice was still standing in front of them and wanted to send her to his Boss. The swelling on his thumbs couldn't be ignored that went from white to red. "Okay, I tried it the easy way, so let's do it the hard way!" he said and tried to grab Alicia again. But this time she was more nimble and did not let him catch her. No, she ran unintentionally into the forest, which did not please King Dice. "Come back darling!" he shouted and ran after her into the forest. Cuphead and Cuppy were the only ones left on the path. "Should we follow her?" asked Cuphead. Cuppy nodded and the two disappeared into the forest as well.

While following Alicia, the robin flew further along the path until it came across Mugman who was happily singing a song. He didn't know he was alone but thought the others were quiet which didn't bother him. "Man, it's so peaceful here in the forest, you'd think I was alone," he said, hoping someone would answer him. But that was not the case. He noticed and stopped. He heard no one else except for the rustling of the leaves. "Guys?" he asked as he turned and saw no one. That startled him a little. Where were the others? His question was answered when a robin landed on his finger and told him everything. "What, they've been shrunk?!" said Mugman in panic as he ran back down the path until all he could see was Alicia's hoodie and jeans still lying on the path. He took them and did not know what to do. They were in any case no longer on the path but where then? In the forest maybe? He did not want to enter this in any case without help. So he went to Blood who was still in Sugar Land.

So he took all of Alicia's things and ran in the direction of Sugar Land, hoping very much that Blood would help him. Alicia in turn tried with the two Cupheads to hide as best as she could in a bush from King Dice who was still looking for her. He searched every bush, every tree and even the ground for her. Alicia already knew that he was going to send her packing when she heard the word wedding gift. Yes, she had not forgotten that the devil wanted to marry her even though she was already taken. "I hope she's not gone" said King Dice as he was on the verge of despair. He didn't want to disappoint his boss. He knew what was coming if he didn't bring her to him. And he wasn't going to let that happen, so he had to keep looking. "Darling, I don't want to hurt you," he said and continued to search. "I just want to take you to the boss, that's all" he said. But Alicia didn't feel like it. Especially because then she would have no freedom anymore. He would hold her like a trophy.

On top of that, he would have the souls of the two Cupheads. She did not want that. So he could save his lovey-dovey posturing. She also stared angrily at him from the bush because she didn't want to be discovered by him. No, not as long as she couldn't defend herself. "Why can't I turn into a Wyvern either?" she wondered. She could change into her demon form, but not into any other. That pissed her off a little bit. "So what do we do now?" asked Cuphead. Alicia looked to him. "Wait until Mugman finds us or King Dice stops looking for us" said Alicia. She had no other suggestion. She was at least glad that she had peace from Dice for the time being and exhaled with relief. But the peace was automatically disturbed when someone spread out the bush in which Alicia and the two cups had hidden. The three hoped it was Mugman or Blood, but unfortunately it was not the case. "Found you!" said King Dice as he stared mischievously at the three. Great. Alicia was not thrilled that he had found her and that she was already back in his grip.

"Don't worry darling the boss is already very happy to see you again" said King Dice with a smile on his face. But I am not happy. Alicia just stared around annoyed. Unfortunately, she couldn't bite his finger again because he was holding her so tightly that there was no way she could bite him at all. On top of that, she might land hard and she didn't want to try that. "Nervous about the wedding darling. Or why the silence?" King Dice asked her as he lifted her to his face. "Honestly no!" she said. This confused King Dice a bit. He did not know that she was already taken and did not intend to cheat on her husband. And besides, the devil here was completely different from Lucifer. Lucifer allowed her to go everywhere and gave her space when she needed it. The devil here would not give her any of that, but rather treat her like a trophy.

King Dice didn't know that of course and thought that Alicia was just nervous. "Don't worry, the wedding won't be that crowded," he said. Alicia gave him a confused look. Um, do you really think that's why I'm like this? She really hoped he was kidding her. But his smug grin said otherwise. "Ah yes the bride fleeing down the aisle the classic" he said while Alicia went from annoyed to angry. She realized that he didn't know that she was already married and therefore already taken. Sorry to all of you who think you want me but I'm happy with what I have. But it got worse when she heard him start to sing and rejoice. Oh man you are worse than the King Dice from the book. She didn't like either of them for a reason.

They both had this way of responding to her. Bad enough that one was still in love with her. She was at least glad that the King Dice here showed no interest in her or that he had seen her almost naked. No, she did not want to experience that again. Once is enough for her. But what neither King Dice nor Alicia knew was that both Cupheads grabbed a branch and bent it so hard that it was about to crack. But both of them were about to thunder it into the face of King Dice who was on his way to them and still held Alicia in his hand. "I think I hear him coming closer" said Cuppy who was still holding the branch. Cuphead meanwhile looked and then gave Cuppy the signal to let go of the branch. When he saw King Dice he gave Cuppy the sign to let go of the branch with a thumbs up. He slammed King Dice in the face, not only letting go of Alicia, who was caught by Cuppy, but also making him slightly dizzy, which allowed the three to escape. But who was not pleased was the devil who watched the whole thing from his mirror.

He was definitely angry about it. "Do I have to do everything myself?" he said and disappeared in a puff of smoke with his trident. Meanwhile, Alicia and the two Cupheads tried to get to Blood as quickly as possible, who could surely help them grow back to normal. King Dice, meanwhile, woke up and rubbed the pain away from his head. Yes, he had more or less a reason why he didn't like Alicia and the two cupheads. But to his shock, the devil appeared before him. He was about to say something but the devil interrupted him. "I'll take care of it, Dice," he said and touched the ground with his trident, causing King Dice to disappear. The devil wanted to get his wife himself no matter what the cost. He was ready to bring her to him so that the wedding and the coronation could take place. "Where are you, my dearest?" he asked himself until he felt her closeness and decided to transform into his spider form. She was in the bushes.

"Hopefully we'll be there soon!" said Alicia who was still annoyed. She didn't like being shrunk. King Dice was no longer chasing her, but Alicia sensed that someone else was. And she certainly didn't want to stay here. "Guys, I can see the entrance to Sugar Land!" said Cuppy, who looked out of the bushes and saw the entrance. It was no longer a hollow tree but a gate made of butter cookies with candy cane holders and peppermint candy as door handles. Oh thank God. Alicia was relieved. She and Cuphead were about to go to him when suddenly they were caught in spider threads that dragged them out of the bush. Oh no, don't tell me it's him. She hoped it was, but when she was caught in a spider web with the two cups, she had other concerns. She didn't see the spider anywhere until the three heard a familiar laugh and looked up. Oh great. "Hello my love" said the devil who was back in his spider form as he walked down from a branch into the web where Alicia and the two cupheads were.

As if it wasn't worse, he landed directly above her and slowly stroked her cheek with his spider hand. "Did you miss me?" he asked her. But Alicia didn't give him an answer because both cupheads interrupted her. "Leave her alone!", "Yes, she's already taken lover boy!" but that didn't bother the devil who wrapped both cupheads in a spider cocoon and tied their mouths shut so they wouldn't talk while the devil focused his full attention on Alicia. "Now that we are undisturbed, I think it's time to take you to my kingdom," he said, continuing to caress her cheek, which Alicia did not like. "Or what do you say my love?" the devil asked her while staring at her with his many eyes in which she was reflected. Alicia knew she couldn't talk her way out of it because she couldn't free herself.

Damn what now? She didn't want to be in his realm again. Not if she can't transform or even defend herself. Yes, she was in a bad situation, but help was rushing in the form of the little robin. He pecked the devil in his many eyes, causing him to see nothing and cry out in pain, blindly shooting his spider webs into the area. Alicia turned her head and was relieved when she saw Mugman following the robin and seeing her. He didn't hesitate long and grabbed a newspaper from the picnic basket and hit the devil with it, dazing him while stars circled over his head. "Thanks Mugsy," Alicia said as she sat on his palm. "Yeah thanks bro" said Cuphead. Cuppy climbed onto his hand last. "Yeah you really saved us!" Mugman blushed as he heard the thank yous. "Oh you don't have to thank me guys" he said nervously as he walked in the direction of the entrance to Sugar Land. But the three disagreed. They thanked him several times. Even when they arrived at Sugar Land and Blood and the Baroness heard them.

"Do I hear my godchild approaching?" asked Bon Bon as she got closer to the sound. But both of them only saw Mugman holding three small figures in his hands while he himself was still carrying the picnic basket with the hoodie and a bit of the jeans that belonged to Alicia. Blood guessed roughly what was going on. Bon Bon, on the other hand, was a bit confused when she suddenly held Alicia, who was no bigger than a mouse, in her hand. "Alicia, what happened to you, why are you so small?" she asked her. But Alicia did not know herself. No one knew why she was suddenly small. But Blood had a solution ready and decided to prepare special cookies with Bon Bon. So the six of them went inside the castle to bake the cookies that would help Alicia and the two Cupheads grow back to normal size. While Bon Bon was in the kitchen with the two Cupheads, Blood held Alicia in his hand. Or rather paw? Alicia did not really know what he had now. But she didn't care because he took good care of her and made sure she was doing well. "At least now I know how you always feel when you are as small as you are now" he said. "Yes, not very nice when you can't defend yourself" she said and looked sadly down at his pawpads which was red and not black like a normal wolf.

But Alicia wondered one thing. "Tell me Blood" he looked down at her "Where did you get the scars on your eye?" she asked him. Blood wasn't sure what to say, but she wouldn't let him rest anyway, so he told her.

Many years ago, when Blood was still a little wolf cub, he was sleeping in his bed one night when a noise woke him up. He did not know what the noise was, but he guessed that it was not good. So he went out of his room with his stuffed animal in his hand and a wooden wand and followed the noise. It got louder and louder but Blood didn't want to run away. No, he was a wolf and not a cowardly chicken. So he mustered all his courage and continued down the hallway when he suddenly saw a black figure in front of him eating something. The figure he could not quite see through the darkness but the sharp claws and sharp teeth. Blood swallowed nervously and was ready to face the monster. "Hey you monster!" he said as the figure stopped eating and slowly turned to face him. Blood's eyes widened in fear when he saw the figure's face. He dropped the wooden wand while walking backwards. The figure followed him and cut the wooden wand in half.

Blood continued to walk backward until he noticed the figure standing on its hind legs, ready to lash out with its left hand. The young wolf knew what the figure was up to and wanted to run away, but his legs did not move. The figure struck and caught Blood in the right eye. The pain made the wolf run away while covering the wound with his hand, from which blood was still coming. The figure only roared and disappeared as quickly as it came. But the scar remained as a reminder of the figure. Alicia was more than shocked by the story. Not only how he got the scar but also that he could have died. "Well, from that day on I decided to hunt that creature," he said. Alicia understood him. But the mood changed when the two smelled freshly baked cookies. Both of them therefore went to the kitchen. "Oh boy am I glad to be normal-sized again!" said Cuphead. "But you know the cookies aren't just for you!" said Cuppy as Cuphead smiled nervously at him.

The cookies had to be aired a bit before they could be eaten by the three. So they waited for five minutes until each ate a cookie and was back to normal size. "Thanks again Bon Bon!" said Alicia as she hugged the Baroness. The latter hugged her as well. "You're welcome my cinnamon star" she said. Cinnamon star hmm something new. Normally Bon Bon from the book always called her her little icing on the cake. Which always confused Alicia. The six spent the rest of the day in Sugar Land together with the Baroness. It was not difficult to see that some things had changed since the last visit. Bon Bon was now no longer alone as the small village was revived. Also, the residents who had previously been turned into sweets became normal again and stayed as well. The first rule of not telling anyone about this place was immediately changed as the Baroness would like to have it back the way it was before she got the curse.

Since then, she was also often out and about in the city. Of course, most of the inhabitants were a bit confused, but one seemed to find the Baroness sympathetic. Alicia almost choked when Bon Bon told her the name. "What you met Sally?" she asked her. "Yes she showed me around town and told me a lot about you" she said. Alicia, for one, was glad that the two of them were getting along well here. In the book they also got along well, although Bon Bon was the quiet one and Sally the bright one. But when she heard that Sally and Bon Bon wanted to do something together with her, Alicia was a little speechless. Of course she wanted to do something with them, but there was still a problem. Hilda didn't really seem to leave Alicia alone. She always felt that when she was out and about in the city. The red zeppelin followed her wherever she went and circled her like vultures around a carcass when she stopped. But it never landed on the ground, which confused Alicia. And she didn't seem to have good contact with Cala Maria because she probably saw her as competition. After all, sea beasts were very territorial.

But doing something with Sally and Bon Bon might change her mind. For the devil, however, this brought nothing. His thoughts showed only Alicia in his arms as she slowly stroked his cheek before he pulled her to him and kissed her. Yes, his tail wagged just at the thought of it. But she was never or rarely alone and was always accompanied by the cups and the wolf. That made him angry. Maybe my book will help me. So the devil got up and went from his throne room to his library to continue reading his book.
