Malevolence
After they returned from Tatooine Anakin left, and went to see Padmé. Ahsoka went to her room in the temple to think. This was a lot for any teenager to handle, let alone a fourteen year old Jedi Padawan. One thing she knew for sure was her new family was rst everything else second even the Jedi.
Meanwhile, Anakin was at his real house talking to his wife. The conversation just switched to his new little sister. Things were going well he supposed.
"So how was it?" Padmé asked. "It was good in the fact that I have a little sister now. She doesn't know
why I hate Tatooine yet though. I'm probably going to tell her tomorrow. It's just a lot you know. The separatists just started a war like a literal huge war. We're nineteen, my little sister's fourteen, and they expect me to be a general and her a Commander! She's fourteen for goodness' sake! The media is a huge joke! All they care about is making money. The Jedi have their eyes so blind that they don't call it like it is, and they expect us to treat the Vode like worthless numbers! They are people too even though they were made in a facility. Sorry I got a bit carried away." Anakin explained,
"It's ok the Jedi are quite blind aren't they. I'd love to meet your sister though. Now go take a nap, you need one, you're about to fall asleep standing up." Padmé said gently. He stood up and went to bed. He was asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.
Obi-Wan was going to his and Satine's house in the Senate building. Mandalore had just joined the Republic before the war started. When he got there, he was greeted by Satine and their three year old daughter. Her name was Karianna, she had his ginger hair and her mother's eyes. The Jedi didn't know about her nor did the Senate. The only people who know of her are
Anakin and Padmé. Lovingly dubbed Uncle Ani and Aunt Padmé by the adorable little girl.
"Daddy you're home! I missed you so much." She said, "I missed you too little one! Hello Dear." He greeted them both. "Hello Obi, I missed you too." Satine replied. He came inside and they ate
dinner. Then they put Kari to bed.
The three Jedi met each other the next morning. Anakin and Obi-Wan talked to Ahsoka, told her about the rest of her family, and then they all went about their regular on world training routines. The day went by quickly and then Obi-Wan was called into a dreaded council meeting.
"Everyone have a seat." Mace Windu started. "Called this meeting I did, bad news have I. Acquired a new weapon the
Separatists have. The power to shut down all electric devices it has. Attacked Master Plo was, go nd the weapon you will Obi-Wan. Your Padawan and the youngling come as well they will." Yoda said in the weird backwards way that he talks.
"I understand Master Yoda, we will leave at once." Obi-Wan replied and then he left the room. He found Anakin and Ahsoka sparring in the training room. He silently watched them spar for about fteen minutes more. Anakin had noticed his presence when he walked in, but Ahsoka had yet to catch on.
"Hello there, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but we ship out in twenty." Obi-Wan said.
"Where are we going Obi-Wan?" Anakin asked. "The Abragado System." Obi-Wan answered. Anakin nodded and left to
grab his bags as well as talk to the men. Ahsoka followed Anakin to talk to
him. They had talked earlier in the trip back to Coruscant. He had told her that he was married to Padmé Amidala, and she was going to meet her when he could get time to take her to their house. Ahsoka wanted to know about Tatooine.
"Mast— Anakin," Ahsoka stuttered nervously. "I wanted to ask you about Tatooine…"
"What about it?" His brow darkened. "Why has it earned your deepest disdain?" She asked quietly. "Well… I used to live there," he muttered, as he kept walking. "Yeah I kinda gured that part out." She replied,
"It's more complicated than that," he de ected again, an extremely weary look on his face. To Ahsoka, he didn't seem tired of the questions; he seemed tired of not being able to answer.
"Just start at the beginning." She said trying to make it less complicated. He sighed. "Well," his breath hitched for a moment before he cleared
his throat. "My mother was a slave there, in the town of Mos Espa." "So you were a slave as well." She said slowly thinking of how horrible
that must have been for him. "I built C-3PO there!" Anakin tried to act happier for a moment. "He
was my best friend, and watched over my mother when I left." "That's good, but that doesn't mean you were happy there. You wear
your emotions on your sleeve." "I… suppose you're right," he admitted, surprised by Ahsoka's
astuteness, but also feeling a growing relief by talking. "So why else do you hate that dust ball?" Ahsoka questioned.
Anakin chuckled at Ahsoka's pejorative, but his expression quickly morphed into a blank one. "Sh–she's dead," he choked. "And I couldn't get to her in time to save her," he ground out.
"Who is dead?" Ahsoka asked gently. "My mother. Shmi Skywalker. She was captured by the Tuskens, and,"
he paused. "Died in my arms as I tried to rescue her." "Do Tuskens usually just attack random people?" She asked curiously. Anakin sighed. "She was eventually freed from slavery and married to a
moisture farmer, who lived outside the city. Made her an easy target for those roaming devils," he spat.
Ahsoka pondered this, but she didn't think they would take a random person for no reason. Out of respect, she didn't raise speculations.
An uneasy silence passed. "So, now you know," Anakin spoke slowly. "That's why I don't ever want to be called 'master,' not after everything that happened on Tatooine," he sighed.
"I understand that Skyguy." She said, She was going to say more, but was interrupted.
"Didn't I tell you two to mobilize?" Obi-Wan burst in, a signature weary look on his face.
Anakin leapt to attention and continued towards his ship The Resolute, and Clone leaders.
Thank you, Ahsoka, Anakin thought to himself.
They boarded The Resolute, and walked to the brie ng room. When they arrived, they were called by the Council.
"Knight Skywalker we the Council would like you to move your troops to guard the Supply lines."Mace Windu told them. There was no room to argue. They would have to do as the council ordered.
"But Masters!" Ahsoka exclaimed. "We can't just abandon Master Plo, he is still alive!" She burst out. "Knight Skywalker control your Padawan. That was very uncalled for.
You will do as ordered. There will be no arguments. The council has spoken." Mace reprimanded then ended the call.
"Ahsoka remember my training method. What is it?" Anakin asked his younger sister.
"Well from my observations, it seems to be do as I say, not as I do." Ahsoka replied smiling.
"Well," Anakin smirked, "What do you think we're going to do?" Ahsoka wasn't sure, but she
thought about it and waited for his answer. "We are going to search for survivors, while Rex and the 501st guard
the Supply Lines. I have to warn you though, what we nd out there might not be pretty." Anakin explained gently. They boarded the Twilight after relaying orders to Rex and then they headed out into space.
