Author's here, this is the last extra chapter before I come back to the main storyline.
As the previous extra chapter, it has Evangelion spoilers and referrences. I suggest you guys should watch Eva to fully understand, also Eva is a timeless classic so I will still recommend it.
Antiverse was something empty and boring.
But because it was empty and blank, it could transform into anything as wish. The limitation was only imagination.
Elysia then closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She imagined a specific scenario.
A scenario could call him out.
When she reopened her eyes, the scenery around her had changed.
Instead of white void, the pink haired girl found herself standing before a lake. The sun turned red and its descending had created a majestic scence of sunset.
"Having issues with your parents again, kid?", a voice called out beside her. Elysia turned her head and spotted a white haired man was sitting on a rocky ledge.
She then jumped onto the ledge without a second thought.
"Yeah, something like that.", Elysia let out a sigh and leaned her back against his.
The white haired man also leaned his back against Elysia and gazed up the sky.
"So...", the man continued, expected her to say something.
"I'm being a petty brat...", she muttered.
"It's hard to imagine you to be a brat, kid.", he snickered, "that title should only belong to your parents in their teenage years."
"Their experiences in teenage years were the worst hell possible for any teenagers.", the pink haired girl sighed, "and I am something akin to them in those years even though I have been grown up."
"Well, I had a little hand for the traumas they had been through.", the man let out a sigh, "...especially to your father.", he muttered in regret.
"You weren't matured at that time and was used by cunning politicians.", Elysia dejected immediately.
"Yes, but it didn't justify my actions.", the man sighed.
"Just get it over with, please.", Elysia pleaded. Talking about her parents' life was too much for her heart.
That world was created for a man to cope with his depression.
Each time a creative work was published in any forms then brought to the audience, an universe would be born. That meaned a great number of fantasy universes were created by writers, mangakas and producers, etc...
Her parents' world was created like that. A world was born from a man trying to cope with depression through his work.
And unfortunately, her parents had become protagonist and deuteragonist in that depressing world.
"My parents gone through hell and I was shouting at their faces for their justified action and blaming on them for my situation.", Elysia murmured, "I couldn't believe I still harbor these ugly feelings."
"No kid, you are an angel. Figuratively, of course. Trust me, angels are even not as beautiful as you and that's speaking from personal experience.", the man's chuckle caused Elysia cracked a smile, "But your soul at the core is human. And human is a creature easily to be driven by emotions.", he finished in a serious tone.
"You are beautiful too.", Elysia praised the man sincerely.
Although she had met him numerous time, she never ceased to amaze his otherworldly beauty.
"Thanks for your praise, kid.", he smiled warmly, "but the thing is...you should not be ashamed of yourself. Every children deserved happiness and blessing from their parents but you were robbed it away when you was just only 4 years old. It's normal to feel bitter. That's because you are a human."
Hearing his words, Elysia suddenly thought about something. She closed her eyes again and reimagined.
"You are quite a hardcore, aren't you?", the man chuckled.
When she opened her eyes again, she saw herself standing with him on the beach in front of the red sea.
"Now the only thing missing is her big head with some decorations and rainbow.", he snickered while looking at the red sea fondly.
"Well, we can recreate it perfectly.", the pink haired girl replied sarcastically, "But I don't think she would appreciate it if we called her just for some...disturbed memories."
"Well, you are right.", the white haired man chuckled and looked at the girl, "May I know the reason why you recreate this scence?"
"Just remind myself why I harbor grudges against my parents.", the pinkette muttered.
"From the moment I was born, I knew I was the accident. They definitely didn't want to bring me into the world.", Elysia began to explain in bitter tone.
"As you can see, beside your parents, no one ever wanted to leave their utopia dreams in that primodial soup.", the man explained and pointed at the red sea, "And I must admit, growing up like that isn't good for you at all."
"Yes, but unfortunately, I was born.", Elysia sighed, "Although we had so many great memories together, in the end, they...", the pinkette couldn't continue anymore as her tears started falling from the corner of her eyes.
"They had promised me they would never forget me. They promised to me, and yet...I have no idea how long I have been waiting for them while they always kept fighting and hurting at each other each time they reborn.", she sniffed, "without remembering their child was waiting for her parents for an eternity."
The man let out a sigh and looked at the pink haired girl in pity.
"They have forgotten me.", Elysia whispered painfully and hugged her knees. She buried her face under long hair to hide her tears.
She knew her parents weren't perfect.
She knew they were broken souls.
She knew they had tried their best in their capabilities.
But the feeling of bitterness and abandonment always surged inside her chest each time she was reminded of her childhood in that devastated world.
She hated it.
She hated Asuka and Shinji for not remembering her existence and choosing to leave her behind.
But...she didn't hated them as much as herself, for the reason she couldn't help it.
She still couldn't let go of the grudges for her parents, and she hated herself for it.
If anyone deserved sympathy and kindness, none was more deserved than her parents for the traumas they had gone through in their various cycles and reincarnations.
And yet, Elysia somehow always tried to hurt them through her words unconsciously even though they tried to rebond and reconnect with her.
She was the worst.
She was the worst child ever.
Elysia let out a a bitter chuckle. She wondered how Eden would think about her if she knew about this.
Would the diva sympathize with her?
Or would she be angry because Elysia wasn't honest?
Or both?
Or worse, would Eden hate her after that?
She didn't know. But she knew for sure her fragile heart would be broken completely if it turned out Eden would hate her.
She hated this. She hated her fate. But most importantly, she hated herself.
What should she do now?
.
.
The pink haired girl then felt not only one, but two pairs of arms were wrapping around her from two sides.
"You sweet little child...", a new soft female voice consoled next to Elysia's ears. Ellie turned her head back and she spotted the blue hair belonged to her foster mother.
"You have no idea how much Shinji regrets for forgetting you, Ellie.", the man whispered, "He still couldn't forgive himself till this day."
"So does Asuka. Please, for our sake. If you didn't forgive them, they would never forgive themselves.", the woman pleaded in a small tone.
"Thank you for always being with me.", Elysia muttered as she hugged her two parental figures tightly, "Rei, Kaworu."
Both of us were staring at each other in a long time.
Honestly, I didn't know what to say. Talking about her biography? I had known it in the palm of my hand.
"So...any questions? Is that your reaction when meeting a legendary character from a legendary anime like me?", the woman sitting opposite of me asked impatiently.
Her impatient attitude was still the same. This brought me some of familiarity.
"It's not everyday I can talk with the Great Asuka Langley Sohryu, you know?", I chuckled then paused a bit, "Or Shikinami?"
The redhead cringed a bit at my question as if it had reminded her some of embarrasing moments from her past.
But then, she recomposed herself and took a deep breath.
"I am both Sohryu and Shikinami.", the redhead coughed, "I am both the girl who was returning from Third Impact and the doll which was turning into angel.", Asuka explained as her left iris was flaring in red color.
I was taken aback a bit at her sudden change of color in her left eye. That eye was the place where Lance of Longinius pierced through and also the eye must be patched to stop angel's infection.
"I admit...I cannot imagine what kind of feeling that eye has been through.", I gulped as some unpleasant sensation was building up in my stomach.
Shit... her fate in End of Evangelion still could make me puke each time I was reminded about it. What kind of fate was worse than being butchered alive?
"You are surprisingly...sympathized.", Asuka eyed me curiously. Our gazes never lost contact to each other.
And it made me a bit uncomfortable. That daunting gaze from her made me felt like I had been seen through.
One thing for sure, the Asuka before me definitely wasn't the one I had seen in anime.
She was the more adult and mature version of the Asuka I had known which it wasn't a surprise considering the life experience she had.
"I must admit, miss Sohr...", I started.
"Call me Asuka. I believe you are more familiar with me in that name.", the redhead cut in.
"Ok, Asuka.", I paused, "I am quite happy that you and Ikari Shinji make peace with each other. Most of us fans are dying to see you two become happy.", I praised sincerely.
"Not really...", the ex-Eva pilot muttered, "We still cannot sort things out between us and our daughter."
Elysia loved everyone but hated her parents?
They must have fucked up somehow, didn't they?
"She is a gentle and kind soul.", I commented, "I believe she will forgive you two in near future."
Asuka was deep in thought after my words, then she let out a sigh.
"I hope so.", the redhead muttered, then both of us returned to silence.
I decided to break the silence again.
"I am curious...", I started, "I know Shinji can become God but...how can you do it? Become God and ascending here I mean. Is Shinji helping you or something?", I asked curiously.
Asuka looked at me then took a deep breath, prepared to answer my question.
"After the events in Thrice upon a Time, as you know, I was sent back into the restored Eva world.", Asuka started to explain, "but Shinji had gone to another world with that four-eyed woman.", Asuka muttered in disdain.
"Mari?", I questioned. I immediately thought about that energetic woman when Asuka mentioned 'four-eyed'.
"Yes, that's her.", she sighed, "I didn't know that was that baka's intention or not but... all the memories from previous lives I had also came back to me."
This was unexpected.
"Luckily, Wonder girl and Angel boy were waiting for me. They asked me to go with them to the world Shinji had come. Of course, I couldn't deny it."
Asuka then took a deep breath.
"And then, all three of us awaited them at that train station. We had some reunion then all five of us ascended to this higher dimension to search for my daughter.", the redhead finished the story.
"You have found her...", I stated.
"Yes, but our reunion wasn't in a way we imagined.", Asuka sighed, "I should anticipate it. We basically abandonned her after all, we even forgot her existence.", the redhead muttered sadly.
I didn't know what should I say.
But I guessed I should comfort her a bit.
"You just did what the best for her.", I tried to reason.
"Yeah, my mother Kyoko was doing the best for me.", Asuka commented dryly, "and you know very well how it turned out."
Kyoko Zeppelin Sohryu had lost her mind after a part of her was absorbed into Eva Unit 2.
"I used to detest my parents and yet, I am no better than them.", Asuka chuckled at the irony.
"Elysia is a sensible woman, Ms Asuka.", I commented, "Just give her time, she would mellow down."
"I hope you are right.", the redhead mutteted, "And thank you.", Asuka smiled warmly at me.
"What? Why?" I replied in confusion.
"Beside Shinji, I cannot confine my thoughts to anyone because no one could understand me, but you did.", Asuka explained sadly.
I was still speechless.
"You know about my life, understand my thoughts and pain. Most importantly, you are also a good listener, that's more than enough for me."
Asuka relaxed her shoulder as if some burdens were lifted.
"You're welcome.", I replied, unsure what was just happening.
