Chapter 3: Megamind Part 2
0:32:12-0:32:34
The audience(mostly the villains) couldn't help but agree with the Space Fish. Although one in particular understood Megamind's reasoning.
All For One thought back to when he gave what would soon become his destined rival to his brother. Was it really arrogance and pity that made him commit the act? He couldn't have known what that simple power-stacking quirk had truly been capable of, right? Even now, some part of the quirk's users of the past live on inside it and the quirk's current host, including him. In a way, they both had lived since the pre-quirk era, forever a constant in each other's lives.
What would happen if one was finally gone?
Their eternal rivalry finally concluded?
All For One would have no connection to that person other than being the progenitor of their quirk.
Whoever held One For All could probably keep going with their lives, continuing the dream that was being a hero.
Could he?
All For One pushed the notion into the back of his mind for now, shelving it for later.
"He really did see all this as a game, now stuck with no one else to play.", Aizawa sighed, remembering what Gentle said.
By now, everyone was curious on how Megamind would go about this plan, some hoping he would elaborate about requiring some form of DNA.
"Who's DNA would he need to…?", Midoriya wondered, until he paused mid-sentence.
He was getting his notebook ready when a thought popped into his head. A memory of when he first received his quirk when All Might passed One For All to him. Specifically how it had to be done.
After ingesting a strand of his hair.
His DNA.
As he looked towards All Might, he noticed concern on his mentor's face. He had come to the same conclusion as well.
"How is he going to make a hero?", Mina asked, genuinely curious on what he was planning.
"Whatever he's planning, I've got a bad feeling about it.", Naomasa sighed. He just knew that whatever was gonna happen, it wouldn't end well.
"Can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with the False Hero.", said Spinner. A Villain creating a Hero? And a False Villain on top of that. Yet he was curious on how this would turn out.
0:32:34-0:32:56
After hearing Megamind's plan, the audience could unanimously agree: it was bonkers.
"How the heck is he supposed to give someone Metro Man's crazy-strong Quirk?! Like, is something like that even possible?", cried Mineta.
"He did mention requiring DNA earlier. And it is known that Quirks are correlated with genetics, but to be able to transfer it between people is a bit far-fetched.", said Momo.
"And yet if Megamind could be capable of doing just that, extracting a Quirk from someone's DNA and be able to pass it to someone else? That'd be incredible, especially in our world!", said Melissa, who was amazed that such a feat could be done. It would be revolutionary in their world, to gain a Quirk from someone else.
"Nothing's impossible for the blue big-headed genius! We just need some DNA!", said Hatsume, cheering the Villian on to the embarrassment of Power Loader.
"Perhaps he has something from their previous battles that may have some form of it?", noted Iida.
"A villain training a hero? Now I've seen everything.", said Monoma sarcastically, having absolutely no faith in the hero's plan working.
"Exactly. It's completely ludicrous!", said Vlad King, agreeing with his student, much to the annoyance of the villains. Even if they secretly agreed, they'd rather watch this plan go down in flames in spectacular fashion.
0:32:56-0:33:12
"That's right. They still have his cape.", said Kirishima.
"And he had DANDRUFF?! Ew!", said Pixie-Bob, finding the dead hero to be a little less attractive. But only a little.
Midoriya meanwhile was imagining having to eat Dandruff from All Might instead of a strand of hair and immediately was regretting the thought.
"It'd really be cool if Megamind can really… are you ok Deku?", Uraraka asked, her awe turning to concern when she spotted her friend's face turning a shade similar to his own hair.
"Huh? Oh! Yeah…I'm good.", the boy said after some deep breaths.
0:33:12-0:33:46
As they saw the great and glorious machine spark with what they could only assume was Metro Man's power, the audience was left awestruck with what Megamind had accomplished in a mere day after conceiving the idea.
"Holy crap. He actually got Metro Man's Quirk in a gun. AND FROM JUST DANDRUFF!!!", Kaminari stuttered.
"A baby that can administer Quirks like a flu-shot! Megamind does it again!", Hatsume cheered.
Everyone from the heroes and students, to even the villains in the audience couldn't help but be amazed by Megamind's achievement. He had done what most people in their world could only dream of doing.
All For One couldn't help but have a twinge of jealousy towards the blue genius. His own quirk allowed him to steal and transfer the quirks of others, and yet Megamind had managed to replicate it from a hero's remains. If only Dr. Garaki could be here to see this process, years of his research had been bested by mere hours. As much as he'd like to see the faces of the Heroes and students once he made them aware of the Good Doctor's work, he wouldn't want to spoil the surprise.
Some of the pro heroes were still wary with whatever a villain could do to teach someone how to be a hero. Vlad King, Naomasa, Aizawa, Shigaraki, and several villains remained skeptical of the situation, agreeing with Minion.
Midoriya, All Might, Mirio, and Bakugo all had the same thought come to mind once they realized that this was now possibly similar to One For All's situation…
Who would get the Quirk?
0:33:46-0:34:00
"He still has that librarian guy's phone.", Kendo chuckled.
Most of the heroes and students hoped the guy was ok while the villains couldn't care less.
"Who's calling him though?", Uraraka asked as she noticed the similar models between this phone and her own.
0:34:00-0:34:25
"It's Roxanne! Guess she has the guy's number, being a reporter and all.", said Hagakure.
"And how they both unintentionally inspired one another is kinda poetic, one being a reporter and the other a villain.", said Sato, the irony not lost on him.
Once again, Mina's shipping alarms went off blaring, hearing Megamind call her cute. It was getting more and more difficult to ignore.
"Dammit, these two sound cute together, but he's a Villian and she'd never want to be with him.", Mina whined, trying to find a way past this.
Once everyone heard that she found his hideout, all of their attention had been grabbed.
"How did she find it?", Midoriya asked, remembering that she had been knocked out whenever she was kidnapped.
"She's a reporter, she must've used her journalistic skills to find out where he's hidden.", said Naomasa, impressed at her deductive reasoning.
0:34:25-0:34:30
A collective SLAP could be heard inside the theater as the entire audience smacked their foreheads in disbelief.
"He kept the fake observatory up and didn't think to tear it down?", Aizawa said while his eye was twitching. He had to of known someone would track it down. He announced it on the live-feed in front of the whole town on Metro Man Day for God's sake!
"He must've forgot to take it down during his takeover of the city.", said Kurogiri, who knew even he or his master wouldn't make such a reckless mistake.
"I can't tell if he's the dumbest genius or the smartest idiot I've ever met.", Toga giggled.
"Me neither. WHY NOT BOTH?!", said Twice, sort-of agreeing with her.
"Seriously!? He might as well roll out the welcome mat for her!", said Monoma.
0:34:30-0:34:42
"THAT WAS A JOKE! I WAS JOKING! HE'S GOT AN ACTUAL DAMN MAT OUT THERE!?!?", Monoma yelled.
"How the hell has no one gotten into his lair before?", asked Dabi.
0:34:42-0:35:45
The audience was extremely mixed once Roxanne was inside the hideout.
The heroes and students, while they admired her bravery to stand up against a Villian, were also concerned that she'd be willing to go into Villian's lair on her own, believing that someone like at least a police officer or private investigator should accompany her instead of just her cameraman. They also had a feeling that she would not approve or understand his hero plan.
The villains also felt the same way towards her reaction towards the hero plan, although a small part of them were hoping she'd learn of it, find a way to stop it, and get Megamind back to his senses.
"I'm not so sure the English prefix of Exciting is Exit.", said Todoroki.
"It's not.", Melissa and Pony said sheepishly.
0:35:45-0:36:27
Some of the audience chuckled at how Megamind missed the idea of "codes" and how he had to fool Roxanne into believing he and Bernard were still two separate people in that building. Technically he was, but just as a cube.
Some were soon concerned when she revealed that she managed to get her hands on the Power Infuser gun.
"She could ruin his whole plan if it's not used on someone.", Midoriya said with a worried tone. He was actually surprised of himself when he realized he wanted to see who would be made into a hero. Even if it came from a villain, it'd be similar to both All Might and himself. The chance to become a hero after being given a quirk.
0:36:27-0:36:48
There were some chortles from the audience as Megamind kept up the act.
"Who compliments the other guy in a fight?", asked Mineta.
"Probably Kirishima and that steel quirk student from 1B.", Todoroki responded dryly.
Both boys were going to refute that, until they realized he was right when they both simultaneously remembered their match in the sports festival.
0:36:48-0:37:17
As the two struggled for the gun, the audience found themselves filled with tension, hoping the gun wouldn't misfire.
Until it did.
Their eyes followed along with Megamind's as the shot ricocheted from wall to wall, pipe to pipe until finally…
"Ugh, not that idiot.", Bakugo groaned.
Of all the people that could've gotten such a powerful quirk, it had to be this whiny loser. At least Deku proved himself to All Might. This was a just a goddamn accident.
Wait, was he actually glad with how that day with the sludge villain turned out?
He immediately shook that idea away. No way in hell would he admit that to anyone, not even to himself.
Meanwhile, Mineta perked up. Maybe there was hope for this loser after all. To have Metro Man's crazy-stacked Quirk? Who'd be able to resist that!?
0:37:17-0:37:32
While there were many guesses on what exactly was behind that Exit door (the most prominent of which was something that was most likely not exciting), seeing what was behind the door still left people wrong, confused, laughing or all three.
"He definitely wasn't wrong about that door being exciting." , said Present Mic, still chuckling.
"At least he didn't let her fall in there.", noted Midoriya.
0:37:32-0:38:00
"No! Don't blow up your babies!", Hatsume cried out, not liking the idea of someone destroying their own creations.
"Hatsume, your "babies" blow up nearly all the time.", Power Loader said deadpanned, reminding the Support Gear student of her many, many, many, many, explosive experiments.
"Not with intention, sensei!", she refuted.
0:38:00-0:39:05
"50 ninjas, even that's a bit much for me to believe.", said Shoji.
Meanwhile a certain pink-skinned student was starting to succumb to the ship.
"They really are so cute together.", she said regretfully, knowing who was really being hugged.
After the exchange, everyone was now wondering how this would play out, Hal having the power of Metro Man.
0:39:05-0:39:39
As Minion listed the information regarding Hal Stewart, many questioned why Megamind would insist on him being the one.
"He's really letting this guy have all that power? He's a nobody.", Monoma stated.
The Pro Heroes felt somewhat at ease, hearing this guy had no criminal record, thus not having to fear the worst. Although it seemed a little disheartening to them that he had no accomplishments at all.
While most of the audience couldn't argue against that, some specific villains understood why Hal has appeared so meek up until now.
For Gentle and La Brava, they saw him as someone that had nothing to their name. At least they had each other, but Hal? He was in a one-sided relationship with Roxanne to which she would most likely never reciprocate.
For Spinner, he may as well have been looking in a mirror from the past. He had been disregarded and despised merely for his mutant-quirk appearance, forcing himself to isolate from society completely. This man didn't even need a quirk to do that to him.
It wasn't until he learned of the Hero Killer that some semblance of passion had been reignited within his very soul. He had found meaning and purpose through Stain's teachings and a home and friends with the League. He merely hoped that Metro Man's Quirk could do the same for him, seeing how that flying False Hero never knew such despair as either of them.
Midoriya also couldn't help but feel some sort of relatability towards Hal. His record sounded awfully like his own life up until he met All Might in-person.
In short, the 3 villians and hero-in-training could understand Hal's predicament because at one point, they were all there.
To not be believed in.
To not be seen as capable of amounting to anything.
To be a nobody.
They all hoped then and there that Megamind's plan would somehow turn out successful. The Executive did say this was a hero's origin after all.
0:39:39-0:39:54
"Why the hell is he even bothering with this loser? The damn space fish is right, this was freaking mistake! We all saw it!", said Bakugo, agitated by Megamind's choice.
"If I had to guess, based on Megamind's childhood, he most likely sees himself in Mr. Stewart.", stated Naomasa.
"The whole destiny thing would make sense then.", said Makoto, agreeing with her brother.
0:39:54-0:40:00
Seeing the interior of Hal's tiny, sloppy, cramped apartment only solidified Gentle, La Brava, and Spinner's personal connection with the cameraman.
0:40:00-0:40:17
"Is he really that quick to sell out his own neighbor? And a woman at that?", said Midnight as she shook her head in disappointment.
"Forget that! I wanna know what this new Forget-Me-Stick baby does!", said Hatsume, already bouncing in her seat at the sight of the new device like a child wanting to open their presents before Christmas.
"If we had to go off the name,", said Melissa, "it sounds like it induces some kind of short-term amnesia, perhaps through an aerosol mist, post-hypnotic lights or maybe…"
0:40:17-0:40:28
"…blunt… force… trauma…", said Melissa sheepishly, realizing how much she had overthought and gave credit to the 'device'.
As for everyone else, the students, children and even some of the villains and heroes couldn't help but laugh a little at the sight of Hal's face after getting the wrong(or right) end of the Forget-Me-Stick.
"Simple but effective.", Compress said between chuckles.
"Your brand new hero everybody!", Toga said with sarcasm between her giggles.
0:40:28-0:40:54
"It seems like Metro Man's quirk had a delayed effect, requiring time to fully activate.", said Momo.
As Hal started glowing from behind the fold-in bed, many were wondering how he would turn out, some getting memories of when Captain America first got his abilities through the super-soldier serum and UV pod.
"And now he's adopting a new disguise to manipulate Mr. Stuart into becoming a hero.", said Aizawa, still having doubts on this plan of his.
"That's his disguise? Megamind couldn't make another one of those disguise watches for Minion?", asked Ojiro, questioning the wig and apron.
0:40:54-0:41:10
As everyone waited with anticipation towards what would be of Hal Stewart, their earlier reminiscence of Captain America had soon come to fruition.
"Whoa! He's all jacked!", cried out Mineta, already jealous of Hal's new impressive stature. If he had a piece of candy for every time he'd seen a out-of-shape loser turn into a powerful, beefed-out hero…
…he'd have two pieces of candy, which wasn't a lot, but it's still weird and crazy that it's happened twice!
Even Midoriya, once again couldn't help have that small twinge of jealousy from Hal. While he needed months of training for his body to be ready to receive One For All, Hal's transformation had taken mere minutes after first being injected.
Both the current and past holders of One For All were now eager to see how this would go, hoping for the best from Hal.
0:41:10-0:42:01
"So it sounds like they're going with the whole alien route too.", said Midoriya, hearing Megamind's (now being known to Hal in this disguise as Space Dad) explanation.
Even though everyone knew this was a mere ruse to mold the hapless man into a new heroic opponent for Megamind, some couldn't help but hope for Hal to embrace this new chance to do great things with the new Quirk he's been given.
Some of the less naive and more perceptive of the group noticed how he looked when looking in the mirror where he took the place of Metro Man on a magazine.
Specifically where he was carrying Roxanne, the woman of his dreams.
"So he thinks he'll get the girl by becoming a hero.", said Aizawa, sighing with disappointment. With luck, he'll be able to move past it.
"I hope he does, he's all buff and awesome now.", said Mineta.
"Yeah, maybe she'll grow to like him too, now that he could gain some confidence.", Mina said with some slight hesitation in her voice. She knew that Roxanne and Megamind had much better chemistry but with him still in his villainous ways, it wasn't going to be easy for that ship to face those treacherous waters.
"Seriously, what idiot is gonna buy that crap story?", said Bakugo, completely uninterested in some dumb love triangle mush and questioning both he and Minion having questionable covers.
0:42:01-0:42:22
"Apparently, the idiot dancing around wearing a FREAKING CAR!!!", replied Sero.
Some of the less mature of the audience giggled at the sight while the more mature could only pinch the bridge of their noses in shame and dread.
"It appears he's got quite a handle on those abilities of Metro Man already. All he needs is just some discipline from the person that knew him and what he stood for the most.", noted Nezu.
Everyone else was now curious on what Hal would be taught, given it's from a villian.
"As Toga said previously, your brand new hero everyone!", Compress said with his arms outstretched to the sides.
0:42:22-0:44:37
A training montage began with a newer, lighter tune outside of Megamind's more preferred rock genre that Jiro noticed. Not that she or anyone else were complaining as they bobbed their head or tapped their foot to the beat.
The same could not be said for his rescue attempt. Emphasis on attempt.
"His recklessness with his strength is really noticeable. He'll cause more collateral damage and do more harm than good if he can't focus that power more precisely.", Aizawa stated with disappointment.
The more alarming concern came with the treatment of the villain stand-in, garnering a horrified expression from the audience similar to Megamind as Space Dad.
"At that point, he'll maim the villain instead of just stopping them, he needs to learn some serious restraint.", said Midnight.
"Yeah, especially with those eye lasers. Yeesh.", said a still-shaking Present Mic.
At that moment Aoyama wasn't as jealous of the eye lasers as he had been before. He was already aware that his navel laser could cut through solid rock, he didn't need to sever a limb or melt a head. Let alone his own.
There was also a lesson dedicated on the silly banter that was once between Megamind and Metro Man. Hal took a less conventional approach that left the audience either in stitches or silently looking away.
"How dignified.", said Naomasa, unapologetically being a bit sarcastic with his dumbfoundedness.
"I mean, I'd call that an accomplishment.", Sero said with the utmost honesty and respect.
His flight had also needed some work, something that Hawks was already on top of. Although he had been training since he was a child after being noticed of his swift and well-ranged quirk. Hal hasn't even had his quirk for a month.
After Minion stated an idea of changing tactics for Hal's training, Kurogiri couldn't help but agree.
"Indeed, they do.", the Void Villain said as he looked over to Shigaraki, who still had no clue as to what this whole thing was supposed to do. He still believed it to be a waste of time, going through the trouble of making a future problem for himself.
Most soon caught on to how Megamind was leading somewhat of a double-life, triple if you count his masquerade as Space Dad for preparing Hal. His time with Roxanne, had slowly begun to have a positive impact.
Shigaraki couldn't help but smile at seeing Hal live out what was basically a real-life level of Donkey Kong. Though if only it wasn't to train this redheaded idiot, he thought to himself. Still, nothing like the classics.
"She appears to be quite a positive influence on Megamind.", noted All Might, glad to see Megamind cleaning up the city and returning the painting he had previously stolen.
The villains, meanwhile had Hawks' previous claim of Megamind being a "False Villain" echo in their heads. Yet Gentle and La Brava couldn't help but smile at his sudden good deeds, reminding them of days before feeling outcasted and the joy that returned to them when they had first met.
"Looks like he's getting the flying down.", said Todoroki as Hal was flying a lot smoother than before. Hawks would be proud. And he was.
0:44:37-0:45:13
While some of the audience couldn't care less about all the lovey-dovey crap that was happening (specifically one explosive student and a homeroom teacher that wasn't for 1A), the feelings between the two couldn't be ignored by everyone else.
"It seems like All Might's previous statement is correct: she truly is a positive influence on the Villian.", Nezu stated.
"And yet it's based on a lie. How do you suppose she'll react once the truth is made known?", asked Ectoplasm.
As much as it hurt those in the audience that really loved seeing the bond that these two have made; Mina, Hagakure, Midnight, La Brava still ached knowing that it'll end when she learns of the true identity of "Bernard."
"Aw, but I actually liked seeing them together like this.", Mina whined.
"I know. He's able to have normal conversations with Roxanne! They just look so adorable together.", said Hagakure regretfully.
"With the disguise, he's able to not be seen as a villain by her. His appearance may be fake, but his feelings are genuine.", La Brava said with sorrow in her voice.
"Unfortunately, Ectoplasm is right. This won't be able to last forever.", Midnight said with a heavy heart.
By now, everyone could only anticipate when the other shoe would drop, and when the lie would end.
0:45:13-0:45:22
As Hal received a gift, many were curious on what it was but were not expecting what was inside.
"What the hell is that supposed to be?", asked Bakugo.
"It kinda looks it shrunk in the wash.", said Sero.
At the mention of a possibility of Hal having a son, most people went nuts.
"A son?! When did he have the time to do that?!", Mineta asked genuinely.
"Perhaps Megamind had a clone backup ready? He's already cracked the genome of Metro Man. Using human DNA to clone someone shouldn't be too much of an issue for him.", said Momo.
0:45:22-0:45:39
"Oh, so it's really for him.", said Kirishima, who wanted to know how amazing he'll look in full costume.
"That must be some impressively strong and elastic fabric for it to stretch to his size from that.", noted Melissa.
Upon hearing the name from the initial, Midoriya wrote it down in Hal's page.
"Titan, sounds like that's gonna be his hero name.", the greenette said excitedly. While he was wary at first, he had begun to warm up to the idea of Hal becoming a hero.
"Titan, sounds very fitting with for someone with such strength.", said Midnight, approving the name.
Upon hearing the reasoning behind the name, the villains scoffed.
"Of course he'd want it trademarked, that's all that false heroes nowadays care about: their brand.", Spinner said unimpressed. He was hoping Hal would be an exception but it seems Megamind doesn't know what it means to be a true hero at all.
To be fair, he was a Villian but still.
0:45:39-0:46:03
As Megamind(as Space Dad), asked about Hal's love life, it was revealed who Hal had literally been keeping an eye on.
"He can see inside her home from THAT FAR AWAY?! He really is a lucky-ACK!!!", Mineta's complaint was immediately interrupted by a smack from Asui's tongue.
"As nice as Hal is, it's kinda creepy for him to be spying on her from that distance.", said Jiro, hugging herself and counting her blessing that someone like Mineta wasn't born with Hatsume's quirk. At least as far as she knew. She soon regretted the thought and shuddered, shaking the sickening idea out of her head.
Nearly everyone in the audience could agree on Hal's current misuse of his gifted quirk, especially the women.
0:46:03-0:46:20
"To Titan!", the students and most of the teachers cheered out alongside the three as they wished for the best. While he could still use some manner of restraint, they all wished Titan their regards as his hero career will soon begin.
0:46:20-0:46:38
"Someone has tamed him, Ms. Ritchie.", Nezu said with a smile, hoping the reporter would eventually realize it had been through her that Megamind has changed.
Everyone else was astounded by Megamind's overall change in nature. The heroes and students were glad that he wasn't at least causing anymore theft or destruction. Some of the villains on the other hand, felt like Megamind was going soft.
"Has he seriously forgotten to keep people afraid of him all because of some reporter lady? Why is he even still bothering with the incognito mission?", Shigaraki asked, confused beyond belief.
0:46:38-0:46:56
When Minion mentioned what Megamind was being fitted for, the heads of two certain students perked up for each of their own reasons.
Aoyama, who was glad to hear a Megamind was also a fellow cape enthusiast, simply had to see how this cape for Megamind's upcoming battle with Titan would appear.
Tokoyami, who knew of and respected Megamind's penchant for attire of the dark, was mesmerized by the name of Megamind's future cape.
"The Black Mamba… what is that exactly?", the Bird-headed student asked.
"From what I recall, it's supposedly one of the longest and most dangerous snakes in the world.", said Momo, with Koda nodding his head in agreement and slight fear of the creature.
Either way, both the French and Shadow students would be unable to wait to see the debut of such a glorious cape.
0:46:56-0:47:24
"Ooooo, now that is a truly exquisite scent.", Aoyama said, proud in Megamind's choice in fragrance.
Meanwhile, people were curious in what the battle suit could be. Some more than others.
"A battle suit?! Now this baby I've GOT to see!", said Hatsume, getting riled up again.
"But if it's untested then what could he be doing that's more important?", asked Shigaraki.
The rest already had an idea based on the previous montage.
0:47:24-0:47:52
"So he really is going out with her. At least Minion understands it won't end well.", said Aizawa. Love lives, like the media, always complicated the careers of heroes, often getting in the way. It's part of why he'd always stick with his work over anything personal, aside from his childhood friend. But given he couldn't shake him even if he tried, it was really a given at that point.
Everyone else notices and understands where Minion is coming from. He's just looking after his friend and master, who doesn't understand how much of a hole he's dug himself into.
"Aw man, he's in too deep.", said Dabi, shaking his head.
"Yeah, he doesn't even realize he's living a lie with Roxanne anymore, thinking he can just keep this up forever.", said Toga, pitying the delusional villain.
0:47:52-0:48:16
"They shouldn't be fighting. They've been friends their whole lives.", Eri said sadly. As Mirio held onto her, he couldn't help but agree. Even if they were villians, it's clear Minion really is trying to protect his friend from getting himself hurt in this doomed relationship. If only he knew how to explain such a complicated subject to the girl.
What Minion said to make a point also struck a chord with some villians. Toga took it personally, hearing on how bad guys don't "get the girl." She looked down, refusing to allow anyone to meet her gaze.
From the very beginning, ever since she first stabbed that roughed up classmate of her's that kickstarted her life on the run, some part of her deep down knew she wasn't going to have that cliche mushy romance seen in most books, movies, and drama shows. Yet her impulses, that desire for lust and blood she had from those she could ever "love", it was all she had at this point. It was that that the heroes were trying to take away from her, the very reason she joined the league in the first place.
0:48:16-0:48:26
Through Megamind's single retort, the audience was just a shocked as Minion, taken aback by his adamant response. Nearly everyone gasped at hearing the sentence they never thought would ever leave the lips of a villain.
"D-D-Did he…did he really just say that?", Midoriya asked, requiring reassurance from those around him to make sure he wasn't hearing things.
"He did.", Miro replied, reassuring the One For All user.
"He doesn't want to be a villain anymore?", asked Kota, slightly amazed at what he had heard, alongside the other young viewers.
Even Bakugo, Vlad King, and Shigaraki, who all just assumed Megamind was just an eccentric yet lousy villain, were left speechless by Megamind's claim.
"Sounds like he's become tired of being hated and feared.", Nezu deduced.
"I know I said Ms. Ritchie was a positive influence, but I didn't think it would actually stretch so far as to make him admit his denounce of villainy.",said All Might, who was slightly proud for the(hopefully former) villain.
"Still, it's not going to be easy to get people to believe that, especially after everything he's done over the years.", said Naomasa, remaining realistic despite the shocking statement, with his sister, Aizawa, Hawks, the rest of the UA staff, and even the villains agreeing. The villians agreeing rather reluctantly, merely understanding the facts from their own world.
0:48:26-0:49:30
"Don't say things you'll later regret.", said Uraraka with a heavy heart.
"And they still don't understand the concept of codes.", said Shoji.
Yet, as disheartening it was to see the two life-long friends go there separate ways, none felt the impact more than Gentle and La Brava. They had both found each other at their lowest points in their lives, both managing to bring hope and smiles to one another as they entered the world of online infamy together.
So to see two outcasts in a similar position(one more built on friendship than anything else) suddenly end up going their separate ways, and after being together their whole lives nonetheless? It brought great sorrow to the pair. They bowed their heads, wishing the best for the two.
"So he wishes for the lie to not be a lie.", said All For One, amused that the so-called Villian preferred to not face reality when looking into the broken mirror after activating his disguise.
Overall, the audience could only wait for when things would eventually begin to go wrong for everyone.
0:49:30-0:50:06
"Roxanne is still continuing her investigation into Megamind's scheme.", Naomasa noted.
"I wonder if she'll catch onto what he's doing, if she'll try to stop him.", said Makoto.
"Would she though? I mean, he is trying to create a hero to make up for Metro Man and he's already having doubts about being a Villian.", noted Present Mic.
"Real question is, would any of us try to stop him?", asked Aizawa. While they all understood that Megamind's intentions are true to some part, they're only aware of it through witnessing it here. Were they in their world, he would've been buried under heroes within seconds after murdering one. His guilt and remorse would remain enclosed within a cell in Tartarus. Even if he managed to break out and follow through with the hero plan, the HPSC would definitely notice if a new but unregistered Pro-Hero were to appear.
Sadly, his good intentions would not be met with the best reception.
"Huh, now that was quick.", said Naomasa, surprised with how quick Roxanne managed to discover Titan.
Speaking of which…
0:50:06-0:50:31
"Even if she didn't connect Titan to Megamind, I wouldn't think she'd feel comfortable near him.", said Kendo, slightly unnerved with Titan's form of flirting.
"Yeah, and grabbing a whole flower cart is a bit much, isn't it?", said Komori.
0:50:31-0:50:39
"And there goes the flower cart.", said Mina, slightly uncomfortable from Titan trying too hard with impressing Roxanne.
"He is making an incredibly awful first impression, as a Hero and towards Roxanne.", said Aizawa, sighing as he shook his head in disappointment.
"Hopefully that cart didn't harm anyone on its landing.", said Momo, growing more anxious from Titan's antics.
0:50:39-0:51:28
The next scene was anything but "romantic"as Hal would've mostly likely been imagining it.
"WHAT THE HELL IS HE DOING?!?", most of the audience screamed out.
"THIS DUMBASS IS GONNA GET HER KILLED!", Bakugo screamed out, not completely alone in his reaction for once.
"Has he gone completely insane?!", cried out Momo, now more concerned for Roxanne's safety than those near where the flower cart landed.
"It's cute to fly her around the city in your arms, BUT IT'S SERIOUSLY NOT IF YOU DO IT AGAINST HER WILL!!!!", Mina yelled out, grabbing her horns and tugging at her hair in pure frustration and anxiety.
"IT'S NOT SAVING HER IF YOUR'E THE ONE PUTTING HER IN DANGER, YOU PSYCHO!!!", Mineta and Kaminari cried out, gaining some points of respect from their female classmates… but only a few. Even they had enough common sense to not put them in danger to try and impress them.
"This is a completely inappropriate and reckless misuse of his quirk!", reprimanded Iida, moving his arm in a chopping motion.
The villains on the other hand, were having a blast with how this new "hero" is turning out. Specifically, the heroes' increase in anxiety.
"At least he's putting her down now.", Mirio replied, releasing a breath he didn't realize he was holding in.
0:51:28-0:51:55
Even when the flight was finished, the tension was not. Especially since he decided to have them land on the top of an extremely tall building.
"He's completely delusional.", said Todoroki, who was able to assess the situation despite his lack of understanding of most social cues.
"He seriously needs to read the room…or… erm… roof, I guess.", noted Ojiro.
"Why couldn't he put her on the ground?!", whined Nejire, whose concern for the reporter was steadily growing.
As much as he was looking forward to Hal becoming a hero after getting a powerful Quirk similar to his own path, doubts soon began to creep into the mind of Midoriya as he gripped the armrests of his chair. His mentor was in a similar position, once seeing potential but having those doubts enter both minds.
0:51:55-0:52:23
At this point, even some of the villians grew unsettled from Hal's increasing instability. Which became all the more obvious after rejecting his civilian name.
"He is NOT taking rejection well.", said Toga, which was never a problem for her. She was used to tuning out the gargled screams of those she stabbed, all to be able to be closer to them through their blood.
And yet, before she would have enjoyed doing the same thing to Hal when he first gained this new powerful Quirk and muscular stature. Her knife probably wouldn't have been able to break his skin, let alone any knife for that matter.
Now, curiously enough, she found the idea of taking his blood…
…slightly nauseating? Which was a first for the vampire girl.
Then again, whoever had been turned on by Hal's Metro Man physique before had to have, without a doubt, had that switch flipped forcefully off and pried off the wall.
"Two words man: Ben! And! Jerry's! No wait, that's three words!!!", said Twice, being corrected by… himself.
"It appears he's confused his feelings towards Ms. Richie for love when really, it is infatuation.", Kurogiri deduced.
"Sadly, it appears to be the case.", said Nezu, agreeing with the Villian.
"This negative reaction towards the rejection may also stem from a false sense of confidence brought on by his newly-acquired quirk being shattered by harsh reality.", Nezu continued.
"So he really thought that she'd fall for him just because he's a hero with a powerful quirk? But that's so wrong and lame on so many levels!!!", Kirishima exclaimed, angered by this poor excuse of a man while also missing the unintentional pun he made.
Mineta immediately took that personally, grateful for his quirk in a rare moment. He'd rather not imagine himself with that same powerful quirk anymore if this was how it'd turn out.
"At least he's left Roxanne alone.", said Midoriya.
"Yeah, on top of a really tall tower.", noted Sero.
0:52:23-0:52:54
Many of the audience members were finally able to relax after that tense situation, especially once Roxanne arrived for the date.
"At least she managed to get down safely.", said All Might, breathing a sigh of relief.
"Finally, we're back with these two.", said Mina, glad to see the real couple while still shaken from the encounter with Titan.
"It also sounds like she's confirmed Megamind's plan.", noted Naomasa.
0:52:54-0:53:10
"Well, to be fair, it was an accident on your part.", reminded Momo.
"True, but Megamind could've listened to Minion when he said Hal was a mistake and taken the Quirk back with that Defuser device.", stated Melissa.
0:53:10-0:53:37
"They look so cute and happy together.", said Mina unapologetically.
Meanwhile Bakugo was groaning from the lack of any violence, still holding onto the suspense from Titan.
"He wants a normal life with her.", said Midoriya, somewhat sympathetic for the position Megamind has placed himself him.
Everyone knew this ruse wouldn't last forever. Question was: when would it run out?
0:53:37-0:53:44
The moment was slightly intruded by a dejected soon-to-be hero however.
"Why can't he leave them alone?! She doesn't want to be with him that way!", La Brava exclaimed, frustrated from Titan's spying on Roxanne.
"So he can see for himself, my dear.", Gentle reassured.
"See what?", asked the Twin-tailed Villainess.
"That she's better off without him. So Hal can finally get over Roxanne and move on already.", Aizawa stated rather coldly. Although he was, in a way, correct.
"Hopefully, he'll be able to move on and put his heart into becoming an amazing hero.", said Hagakure, though even she had some doubts about her own statement.
0:53:44-0:54:18
Those in the audience noted Megamind's strangely specifically non-specific question. Was he really going to reveal the truth to himself to Roxanne? Some were just glad he was considering it.
0:54:18-0:54:27
"YES!!!", Mina screamed, squealing in delight over the couple finally sharing a kiss. She was ecstatic from the moment, alongside Hagakure, whom she was hugging and holding onto for dear life.
Midnight, La Brava, Pixie Bob and several of the other romantics in the audience all shared the same joyful reaction for the two, hoping nothing could spoil the moment.
But most stories don't get to have such chivalries.
Just as with Titan, everyone must face reality eventually.
0:54:27-0:55:06
"NO!!!", Mina screamed, this time with horror as the disguise faded and the truth was splashed onto those same romantics, like being awakened from a pleasant dream with a bucket of ice water.
"And so the facade falls away.", Tokoyami states.
"It had to happen eventually, their relationship was basically a powder keg waiting to go off.", Aizawa said, sighing now that the act was up.
"It was like he was ashamed of who he was.", said Midoriya, noticing Megamind recoiling, trying to hide himself from the world.
0:55:06-0:56:08
Whether they were romantics or not, the next scene was not an easy sit-through.
"He didn't even bother picking up the dehydrated cubes?", questioned Shoji.
"WHO CARES ABOUT SOME DUMB CUBES!?" Mina cried as she and Hagakure began to tear up at the sight of this ship basically being capsized in a dreadful storm. Fitting given the rain.
"He just wanted to be happy, with you. To have someone that listened and understood him.", La Brava said as tears also began to well up in her dark-circled eyes. Gentle soon reached over and patted his partner on the shoulder, to which she reciprocated with a hug, burying her face into his coat as she wept.
0:56:08-0:56:38
"No.", Mina and Hagakure replied alongside Megamind, both staring down towards their laps and unable to face the screen. Tears streaked down faces, along with the others who had felt their hearts shattered to pieces. Some could only pity the villain, others felt sorrow for the reporter, and some even felt sorry for both.
They had to have known, they all had to have known that what was between the two wouldn't last. Many even accepted it. And yet they had witnessed it themselves, how Megamind first disguised himself to prevent embarrassment soon grew and evolved into something no one else could've anticipated.
He had managed to fall in love with the reporter.
He had grown to find joy, not in the villainous tendencies he grew up with embracing, but through a connection with someone who treated him like a normal person. All because, for a time, he did feel like a normal person.
This kindness had changed him for the better, that part was clear. The understanding that he held, the honesty he had displayed with his own emotions despite the false appearance. That was something that none of the villians in the audience could ever have, even if they tried. All due to the world they originated from.
This was their mission, to change such a society.
All Megamind wanted was a way to ignore such crippling loneliness with a purpose in life.
His identity as a villain, something he was once proud of, he had grown to doubt when his relationship with Roxanne came under question.
And now he had even less than the League. While they have each other, he now has no one.
As the audience watched on, sounds of sniffling could be heard as the villain returned to his lair.
0:56:38-0:57:00
"That's a weird way of saying you were wrong.", said Tsu.
"Did he forget that he told him to leave?",asked Present Mic, who along with the rest of the audience still felt the depressing mood from before.
"He's been through a deep heartbreak, it's only fair.", noted Recovery Girl.
"And now he's resorting back to villainy.", All Might stated, slightly disappointed in the reluctant villain.
0:57:00-0:57:25
"Fianlly getting back on track.", said Shigaraki, who was honestly getting tired of the whole love triangle crap.
The heroes and students knew he was doing this for the same reason he chose villainy back all the way back in those school years. Because it was all he had left. Here, it was even more tragic with what had transpired earlier.
Despite all that, both Aoyama and Tokoyami couldn't help but have their attention grabbed at the mention of The Black Mamba.
0:57:25-0:57:52
As Megamind suited up for the upcoming battle, a final zoom-out displayed him adorned in the foreshadowed robe in all of his diabolical glory. Both boys were left in awe, their eyes widened of the sight. It was like both of their tastes had achieved an almost perfect equilibrium.
"Magnificent.", said Tokoyami, his vision unable to break from the screen.
"While it may be lacking in sparkles, it truly is très magnifique ", agreed Aoyama, gazing with stars in his eyes.
0:57:52-0:58:03
"Is he referring to Titan or himself here?", Tsu asked after the villain claimed it was "time to go down in style."
"To be honest, I'm not really sure. I think it could go either way.", Midoriya noted, just as perplexed.
"Who cares?! That big baby looks amazing!!!", Hatsume cried out, practically drooling at Megamind's most impressive machine yet.
As the aforementioned Battle Suit was revealed, the audience attempted to anticipate whatever mayhem this upcoming battle would bring.
0:58:03-0:58:42
"That Mecha Suit is insane! It's way bigger than Iron Man and Iron Monger, maybe even bigger than the two of them combined!", said Kaminari, shocked as the massive machination stomped down the street.
Midoriya was curious on how the Mecha would fair in a battle against Mt. Lady.
"The spurs might be a bit much though.", said Hawks, wondering if they had any real function aside from aesthetic.
"I don't know, I think they complete the look.", noted Snipe, feeling a sense of familiarity to his own aesthetic.
The heroes and some of the students hoped this battle wouldn't leave the city in ruin, knowing that both Megamind and Titan had faced a form of rejection the night before, one taking it more gracefully than the other.
True, Megamind was handling it through Villainy with an epic battle, parading through the city in a giant mech suit and issuing a challenge to Titan. But it was something.
"At least after everything, he has yet to lose his sense of prestidigitation.", said Compress, his smile hidden away from his comrades and the rest of the audience from behind his mask.
The villains merely awaited to see the soon-to-be spectacle that was being hyped up. And not just them.
"Finally! Let's see what that tank with arms and legs can do!", Bakugo barked, a sadistic and hungry grin spreading on his face. He'd been starving for action for a while now, to the point where he'd even take up Megamind on his challenge, if he could.
But this was it.
