OoOoO
"Cynthia! Cynthia! Wake up Cynthia!" These were the first sounds Cynthia heard as she woke up in the hotel room. She slowly opened her eyes to find Victoria and Bridgette peering at her with amusement. She promptly shut her eyes, rolled over and put a pillow on her head."
"Go away, let me sleep." She grunted.
"Okay, if you insist." Said Victoria
"All the more breakfast for us!" Bridgette cheered.
And with those words, Cynthia's eyes flew open and she leapt out of bed before rushing to the girls.
"Breakfast has already started?" Cynthia exclaimed, before running to get herself dressed.
"Yup, and Gible's already there." Cynthia's eyes widened even further as she finished dressing herself and bolted out the door, followed by the two now hysterical girls.
Arriving in the dining room, Cynthia could immediately spot Gible wolfing down a sizable portion of food from a bowl. Gible noticed her and grinned, which looked quite peculiar on her face. Cynthia smiled and made her way over.
"Having breakfast without me? Thanks sister." Cynthia said. "I'm gonna go get myself some food, Budew might join you soon." Gible nodded as Cynthia went off to get her own dangerously large serving of food.
After getting her food, she went over to a booth where the three boys were, two of them arm wrestling of all things. She chuckled and shook her head.
"Boys and their competitiveness." She said, sliding into the booth and grabbing their attention.
"Hey Cynthia!" Brendan said, before turning his attention back to Tristan. They grappled for a few more seconds before Brendan emerged victorious, eliciting a cheer from said victor.
"Aww man!" Tristan Said, "That was a close one!"
"If you say so." Brendan said smugly.
"Great job, now eat your food before Gible finishes hers." Cynthia said, earning laughter from the boys. Soon the delved into conversation with the girls joining them a few minutes later. A couple more minutes passed and Cynthia had finished her massive pile of food much to everyone's surprise. She then excused herself to go check on Gible and Budew.
As she approached them, she smiled as she noticed the pair talking quite animatedly together. They noticed her approach and cried their names in welcome.
"Hey you two," Cynthia said, "I hope you're getting along?" The two Pokémon nodded, and Cynthia gestured the two to come over to a map of the Sinnoh Region.
"Okay, we need head somewhere new today, and the two possible places are Solaceon Town and Veilstone City." Cynthia said. "I haven't decided yet, and I want both of your opinions before we come to a decision." Gible growled amusedly at Cynthia, and she blushed in embarrassment.
"No, I'm not asking for your opinion because I have no clue what to do next!" Cynthia said. "Maybe a little... But still! I do want your opinions."
Budew and Gible looked at each other, before gesturing towards Solaceon town.
"Solaceon Town... Why should we go there?" Cynthia asked. Budew looked around for a few seconds before dashing off and dashing back with a strip of newspaper in her mouth. Cynthia looked at the newspaper and her eyes widened.
"Pokémon breeders, of course!" She said. "I'll get to experience breeding firsthand and see if it's something for me in the future! Thanks for suggesting this you guys!" Cynthia said. Budew puffed out proudly while Gible grinned. I'll go tell the others that I'm planning to head to Solaceon Town."
Cynthia then walked over to the rest of the group to inform them of where she would be headed. Her news got her a cheer from Victoria and Brendan and a groan from Bridgette, Tristan and Carl. Soon, the group checked out from the hotel and found themselves standing outside, now split in half. By now, quite a few tears were falling from the eyes of the teens.
"I'll miss you, Cynthia!" Said Bridgette, wrapping her friend in a hug. "Next time we meet, I want a rematch. Then I might have a chance of beating you!" Cynthia nodded and said a quick goodbye to Tristan and Carl. Then they split off and started walking down their own routes. They really had started to choose their own paths.
OoOoO
The three hours of walking they had done so far were a lot quieter than the day before, which was both a good and bad thing. For once Cynthia could hear her own thoughts, but she did miss the goofiness the other children brought to the group.
She smiled as she watched Gible and Budew continue to chase each other around as they walked down the dirt road surrounded by tall grass. It was nice to see them getting along so easily after such a fiery first meeting. She looked forward to training with Budew as well, that Pokémon was incredibly fierce in battle.
Cynthia sighed and looked at her surroundings, enjoying the scenery. The tall grass here reached heights above her own, towering over herself and the rest of the group. Occasionally, she'd hear the shrill cry of a Kricketune nearby, its melodic voice echoing around the area. Flocks of different Pokémon soared overhead, filling the emptiness that seemed to follow the trio.
"This has been such an incredible experience" said a voice to Cynthia's left. Cynthia turned her head to see Victoria staring off into the horizon, a satisfied smile on her face.
"Travelling with us, I presume?" Said Brendan, also looking at Victoria.
"Not just that, although it has been fantastic." Said Victoria, glancing at Brendan. "The opportunity to travel outside of Celestic Town, meet new people and Pokémon, and grow as people. And every choice we make is our own now, not the choices of our parents." She looked down at the Chimchar in her arms, tickling him in his favourite spot, eliciting a high-pitched laugh from the fire type.
"I can't believe it's just begun!" Brendan said, throwing his arms up happily, only to hit Porygon solidly on their face, eliciting an annoyed beep from the Pokémon. "Sorry Porygon, I didn't - ah!" Porygon fires a psybeam at Brendan, which he promptly dodges. "Oh, Porygon! You learnt a new move, great jo - aah!" Brendan has to duck again as Porygon gives chase, each psybeam followed by giggle of beeps. This had Victoria and Cynthia in hysterics, causing the two to collapse to the ground for a minute or two. After they had calmed down somewhat, they got backup to continue walking down the route.
"Good job to Porygon for learning Psybeam just now." Victoria said, scratching Chimcar's head mindlessly.
"Yes, although it's kind of hilarious it only learnt the move because it was an opportunity to torment Brendan." Noted Cynthia, as she glanced over her shoulder to see Porygon looking down curiously at a now collapsed Brendan.
"You can tell they're going to be besties."
"Absolutely." Cynthia said, as she spotted an incoming troublesome duo. She opened her arms, letting Gible leap into them. The incoming Budew ran up to Cynthia, looked up at Gible, and huffed in annoyance. She hit her Pokéball on Cynthia's belt and was sucked back in.
"Did you just cheat to not get tagged by Budew?" Cynthia asked, only to receive a meagre eye roll from the dragon, which caused the two girls to laugh.
"Speaking of best friends, you and Gible are especially close, for… what, 2, 3 weeks now?" Victoria said, looking at Cynthia.
"Oh, well..." Cynthia looks down at Gible, who gives her a nod. "You know how I found her literally just hatched and all, and how I saved her from the weather twice. That would already bond us enough. But…" Gible nods again, "In the Pokémon centre after I had found her the second time, I made a promise to her. That I would always be by her side, that I would always have her back. That day, we became sisters, not friends, not co-workers. We became sisters because we both needed a family. Her because she could not find her parents, me because, well… you already know." Cynthia was looking downwards now, completely focusing on Gible. Gible was hugging her, her head leaned against her. The pair had stopped moving, with all the focus on Cynthia.
"Wow…" Murmured Victoria, "I had no clue that was your relationship. I just assumed you were just good friends but… Looking at it now, it's clear it's a lot more than that." She slowly wrapped her arms around Cynthia.
"I'm glad you two can be so close, but at the same time I hate that all that terrible stuff had to happen for you two to reach that point." Victoria said. They stood quietly for a while, just enjoying each other's company.
"Oh Arceus, am I interrupting something?" Came a voice from behind. "The girls turned to see a concerned Brendan and Porygon looking at them warily. Victoria laughed and opened the hug.
"Come here you big softie, get in here." Brendan walked into the hug, patting the girls lightly on the back.
"We might not be your family, but we'll be here for you both." Victoria said, "Right Brendan?"
"Oh, yeah! I'll be there for you two." He said, smiling at Cynthia.
"Thank you guys, that means a lot to me." Cynthia said quietly.
"Gible gi gible. Gible." Said Gible, eliciting a laugh from the Pokémon and Cynthia.
"Thanks for your kind consideration" Cynthia said humorously, "Now let's try get to Solcaeon town before lunchtime."
OoOoO
Solaceon town was not what Gible was expecting. She thought that all the towns would be like Celestic town; traditional small wooden houses, loosely circled around a clearing. Solaceon town proved her very wrong. For one thing, it was larger. Not massively, just large enough for the difference to be notable. Secondly, instead of the town forming a circle of sorts, it was instead completely focused on the rectangular road through the middle. Definitely different from Celestic Town.
The first order of business the group decided upon was locating the Pokécenter. Gible walked calmly alongside Cynthia, who had the sunbathing Budew on her head. Victoria and Brendan were chatting amicably behind Cynthia, talking about Brendan's new Pokémon Swablu, who was resting in it's Pokéball alongside Porygon. The group soon located the Pokécenter, and they hurried inside.
This Pokécenter was much more modern than the one at the hotel, so now Cynthia and Brendan could check the moves on their new Pokémon. Cynthia found out Budew's fourth move was Synthesis, which was particularly surprising since it is an egg move. The group was further surprised with Brendan's new Swablu, which had the egg move Play Rough. The compliments the two Pokémon received from their trainers made them swell with pride.
"Hello, we would like to check our Pokémon in please," Cynthia asked as the group walked up to the front desk.
"Of Course, put them on the trolley." Nurse Joy said. The group put all the Pokémon on the cart, with Gible wanting to stay with Cynthia for the moment. The cart was then pushed off by two small gray and purple Pokémon, which made Cynthia squint for a moment before her eyes widened in recognition.
"Nurse Joy, are those male and female Indeedee?" Cynthia asked. Nurse Joy's face lit up when she heard Cynthia.
"Yes! You would be correct! You're the only person who knew what Pokémon they were. Well, apart from the other blonde who came through."
Brendan and Victoria whistled simultaneously in appreciation of Cynthia's knowledge, before giggling at the sudden synchronisation.
"I'm presuming you're from Galar or you have spent some time there." Cynthia said, absentmindedly scratching Gible's head.
"Yes, I'm from Galar. I came to Sinnoh to study Technology and Medicine." Nurse Joy said, happy to have some conversation. "Although, it was a struggle to learn the language here. It's very complicated."
"Oh yeah, doesn't Galar, Alola and Unova all speak Galarian?" Victoria asked, piping into the conversation.
"Yes, you would be right. I would recommend learning it as so many regions speak Galarian." Nurse Joy said. "Anwho, I need to get to work."
"You know, I often forget other regions exist," Brendan commented as the group walked over to a red booth. A collective sigh rose from the group as they sank into the soft fabric after the long hours they had spent walking. After resting for a few seconds, Cynthia snapped back into action, pulling out her Pokédex and typing rapidly.
"Ok, I'm booking a room in the Pokécenter for a week, we're lucky they have a few group rooms open. You're staying for a night, and the rest of the time I will- "
"Actually Cynthia," Victoria butted in, "Me and Brendan plan to go down route 209 today and set up camp. There's a tournament we both don't want to miss."
"O-Oh, Ok." Cynthia said, eyes widening. "I didn't expect us to say goodbye so soon."
"It's okay," Brendan said, "We still have to wait for our Pokémon." At that moment the speakers sounded, calling for the trio.
"I spoke too soon," Brendan muttered, as he and Victoria got up to receive their Pokémon. Cynthia remained seated, watching the two walking off. Gible looked at her curiously, staring deep into her silver eyes. She growled in concern, making Cynthia look down at her.
"Sorry Gible, didn't mean to make you worried about me."
"Gible? Gib-gi-Giiible?" Gible queried, tugging on Cynthia's sleeve.
"Yes, I'm a little sad to see them go, it's more…" Cynthia paused, scratching her elbow subconsciously, "It's more I enjoyed the presence of a group. it's just going to be difficult to be alone again. Of course, you and Budew will be there."
"Gible! Gible-Gible-Gi-ble!"
"Ok, now you're just being disgusting." Cynthia laughed, standing up to get back to her friends. The two continued chatting, unaware of a blonde sitting in the booth next to them, looking at them curiously as they walked away, the Elekid in his arms also eyeing them suspiciously.
"A new trainer with a Gible, both being able to communicate easily…" He opened a notebook and jotted down some words. "She would definitely want to hear about this…"
OoOoO
Cynthia and Gible waved at Brendan and Victoria as the two retreating figures started their journey down route 209. Cynthia sighed as she watched their shrinking figures. She was officially on her own now, Gible and Budew being the only companions with her. Sighing, she looked at her Pokédex. She had cancelled the Pokécenter room as they were meant for multiple people, and she didn't want to take up a spot that multiple people might have a need for. So, she would have to look for other accommodation. She couldn't find any hotels or motels on her Pokédex, so for now, she wasn't sleeping indoors tonight.
She started to walk around town, with Gible in her arms and Budew on her head. Considering the looks she got from the townspeople, she must have been quite the sight. A young teenager carrying a dragon type with a seemingly innocent budew on her head. It was quite amusing, to see people look at Gible warily, not knowing that they should be more careful about the Budew on her head that looked for amusement in anything.
She started to head towards the edge of town, looking for a suitable area to set up camp. She was about to reach the outskirts when a voice stopped her in her tracks.
"Hello dear, what are you out here for?"
Cynthia turned to find a jolly looking woman in an apron looking down on her. She wore a radiant smile, giving her a youthful appearance despite her greying hair. She was accompanied by a small flying Pokémon, which Cynthia realised after a moment was a Togetic. Her eyes widened slightly, as the Togekiss line was famously rare, almost to the degree of Feebas and Gible.
"Oh, I'm out looking for a place to camp for tonight." Cynthia said, while slightly averting her attention to keep a watchful eye on Budew as she jumped from her head and landed on the grass.
"Tonight? It's the middle of the day, you could go a bit down Route 209 and set up camp to reach Hearthome city sooner."
"Oh, no. I'm planning to stay here in Solaceon town for a week." Cynthia said.
"Aah, interested in Pokémon breeding, are you?" The woman observes.
"Sort of. I don't really know what I want to do, so I want to try something new for a week."
"Well, if you don't have any other engagements, I'll be more than happy to provide a bed and some work experience for the week." This news makes Cynthia's eyes widen.
"Really? Thank you so much miss…"
"Atsuko. But call me Stella, I'm not one for formalities. And you are?"
"Cynthia. Cynthia from Celestic town," Cynthia says happily.
"Ok Cynthia, follow me to the Pokémon daycare. We have a few others staying, so you won't be alone.
The pair talked as they walked towards the daycare, getting to know each other a little bit better. Cynthia found out that Atsuko was Stella's family name, and that her husband had been the one to change his last name. The reason was that the poor man had been stuck with two names that sounded terrible together his entire life. So as soon he was engaged to Stella, he wanted to change it immediately. Cynthia laughed at this as Stella pushed the door open to her home.
"Honey! I'm back and I got another person who wants to work here for a week." Stella yelled. A shout of acknowledgement came from the kitchen and her husband came wandering out, his glasses foggy from the steam of his cooking. He was a little shorter than Stella, fitting under her chin as she wrapped him in a hug that, judging from his bulging eyes and squished cheeks, was making breathing very difficult.
"Oxygen, Stella- "He wheezed as his wife realised her firm grip and released him, a quiet "sorry" escaping her lips. He took a few deep breaths before focusing on Cynthia, smiling warmly before looking at Gible with wide eyes.
"A member of the Garchomp family…" He muttered, "Never thought I'd see the day." He turned his attention back to Cynthia, holding out a hand.
"Ted, but please call me Mr Atsuko. Makes me all the happier I have a good last name."
Cynthia smiles warmly as she shakes Mr. Atsuko's hand. "Just out of curiosity, what is your family name?" At this he groaned light heartedly as his wife giggled.
"Iyersa," he said, rolling his eyes fondly at his wife's laughter. Cynthia stifled a giggle, before quickly composing herself.
"Now, to show you your shared room." Mr Atsuko says, leading Cynthia up the stairs. "As just mentioned, you will be sharing a room with other people. Are you comfortable with that?" Cynthia nodded, before she called sharply at Budew who was grinning evilly at a precariously placed plate on a cabinet. The Pokémon giggled before returning to Cynthia's side, while Ted chuckled with humour.
"Budew sure is the lively one in your group. Usually, early-stage dragon type's act very aggressively or skittishly." Cynthia and Gible look curiously at the man as they continue down the corridor. "We've had a few first stage dragon types here before, and they aren't nowhere as calm as Gible. I think that's interesting at least."
The man finished talking and pushed open the door at the end of the hallway, revealing a well kept if a little messy room inside. There we 10 beds in the room, one of them currently occupied by a sleeping person and her Munchlax.
"Don't mind Deborah, she can sleep through anything. You can choose any beds on the right-hand wall if they're not occupied. And don't worry, this dorm is for people generally your age group."
Cynthia chose the bed closest to the door and started unpacking her things neatly, lying them in the small cupboard underneath her bed.
"We'll all be having an early dinner outside in roughly four and a half hours. In the meantime, you can wander the town, the daycare, whatever. Now I got to get back to cooking!" A quick wave and he was gone, leaving Cynthia in the bedroom. She collapsed onto her bed, with Gible and Budew soon jumping up onto either side of her. She smiled in contentment and closed her eyes, sinking into the surprisingly soft fabric beneath her.
"Wake me up in twenty minutes Budew, she murmured drearily, quickly drifting off, followed suit by Gible who did not take long to fall asleep as well. Budew rolled her eyes and jumped over to a nearby windowsill, silently watching the girls. She smiled and turned to face the paddocks, counting down silently in her head.
OoOoO
When Cynthia told Budew she wanted to wake up in 20 minutes, she did not anticipate the small grass type to be jumping up and down quickly ontop of her and GIble's sleeping forms. She and GIble awoke instantly, looking towards the laughter that came from Budew. Cynthia rolled her eyes, before quickly grabbing Gible to stop her from lunging at Budew for interrupting her sleep so abruptly.
"Well, thank you Budew for waking us up quickly. It's my own fault I didn't mention for you to do it nicely." Budew murmured a few words, causing Gible to begin giggling in her arms.
"Ok Gible, what did she say."
"Gi-Gible! Gib-Gi-Giiible!"
At this, Cynthia burst out laughing, before getting up out of the bed and opening the door.
"Wow, so it really was our fault." She laughed as they made their way down the corridor.
They reached downstairs to find Mr Atsuko still cooking up a storm. After asking where Stella is, Mr Atsuko pointed them in the direction of a paddock of Miltank. The group made their way towards the paddock to find Stella milking a Miltank by hand. Togetic was levitating the full buckets with Psychic and placing them in a wagon carried by a Tauros.
"Stella!" Cynthia called, causing Stella to turn her head and smile at the approaching teenager.
"Did you enjoy your nap dear?" She asked, receiving an eye roll from the girl and the dragon and a giggle from the Plant.
"We were woken up a bit… Violently." Cynthia said, to which Budew giggled a bit more.
"She really is the problematic one." Stella chuckled, before turning back to the Miltank.
"I presume you're out here to help and learn?" Stella asks, to which she receives a nod. "Great, then grab a bucket, some gloves and go to that Miltank over here." Cynthia nodded and got her required items and prepared herself next to the sitting Miltank.
"Now, what we're currently doing is a key aspect of Pokémon breeding: Keeping the Pokémon in your care in good health. If they're not healthy, they're significantly less likely to have offspring and can be a lot more violent." Stella turned back to the Miltank and gave her scratch near her ear, eliciting a pleased moo from the Pokémon.
"It is necessary we milk the Miltank as they produce an excess of milk, and it can be quite painful for the Pokémon. So, we take the excess milk to make sure the Pokémon is healthy. You got that?"
Cynthia nodded, continuing to watch Stella's little seminar. Soon, she was hands on with the Miltank, before moving onto the next work Stella had for her. From all the work Stella had given Cynthia and her Pokémon, they barely noticed the time flying past and the darkening sky.
"You two did great for first timers." Stella huffed, as she wiped some sweat off her forehead. "Now, let's head back to the house and go enjoy a well-earned meal." At the mention of food, Cynthia and Gible were racing back towards the house, closely followed by the ever giggling Budew.
As the two approached they saw the outside dinner setup that was being layed out. A long wooden table had been laid out, and all the other workers and students Cynthia had spotted around the ranch were helping with the setup. The strings of hanging lights suddenly lit up as the afternoon transitioned to evening. Cynthia saw Mr. Atsuko walk outside and ran towards him.
Mr Atusko saw the girls approaching and walked up to greet them. "Hey girls, it's almost ready, can you just help setting the table with Volkner over there?" Cynthia gave a thumbs up and walked over to a blond-haired boy laying down cutlery on the table.
"Volkner, I presume?" She received a curt nod. "Well, Mr. Atsuko told me to help with setting the table. Anything I need to do?"
"Get the jars of juice." He said, before returning to setting out the cutlery. Cynthia looked at Gible, shrugged, and went to go get the juice jars from the fridge.
Her and Gible together carried out 3 large glass jugs of different juices, gently laying them on the table. Soon, all of the cutleries had been set and the seats began to be filled. Cynthia took hers, quickly glancing to her left to check on Budew and Gible who she left in the Pokémon eating area. A light tapping on a glass at the head of the table quietened down everyone, as all eyes turned to look at Stella with Mr Atusko next to her.
"Hello everyone! To our family, friends, employees and guests, we thank you for your hard work today, and now we provide you with the opportunity to tuck in!" At this, a tired but heartfelt cheer rose, and the people began to eat their food.
Casual chit-chat and laughter rang through the air in the now night sky. Weary moos could be heard in the distance, with the rustling sound of flying Pokémon coming around occasionally. Cynthia was thoroughly enjoying her food. She helped herself to some curry that Mr. Atsuko had learned to make in Galar. Every single bite of the spicy curry made her head spin from the rush of different flavours. She kept on eating and eating, eventually feeling full as there seemed to be no end to Mr. Atsuko's cooking. So with a full stomach, she closed her eyes, leaned back and sighed.
"What's it like having a Gible?" Asked a voice next to her. Cynthia opened her eyes and turned to see Volkner looking towards her, occasionally putting some food into his mouth. Remembering she had been asked a question, she quickly answered.
"Just like any other Pokémon. Since I've been with her since her hatching, we haven't really had any problems yet. She's in fact been less of a handful than my Budew."
"You met Gible after she had just hatched?" Volkner asked, eyes widening slightly. "I thought that young Gible were ferociously protected by their parents." Cynthia avoids his gaze at that, focusing on Gible in the background still shovelling food into her mouth.
"They usually are, I guess she was an exception." She murmured, before she looked around quickly, as her eyes landed on Elekid.
"That Elekid, are they your partner?" Cynthia asked, exhaling slightly as she met Volkner's eyes again. "Cause if they are that's quite the joke. Volkner, elekid, electricity…" Volker continued to look at her, occasionally blinking.
"It can definitely be seen as humorous." He mused.
An awkward silence followed, with Cynthia not particularly knowing what to say. She was about to open her mouth, when Volkner beat her too it.
"How about a battle at the end of the week? See how this experience has affected our battling?" Cynthia perked up at this. "Sure, I'll try my best." She said, holding a hand out towards Volkner, which he then shook.
The meal then soon ended, with Cynthia not needing to do any chores as she had already helped. So an exhausted Cynthia and Gible picked themselves up from their full stomachs and trudged their way to their bed. Cynthia collapsed onto it, sighing contentedly.
"What a great day…" She whispered, "Now hopefully I have some great dreams."
oOoOo
The Sinnoh night was quiet in the battle frontier, usually a bustling place. But for one soul, something was not right. Inside the elegant castle that posed as a battle facility, a blonde-haired girl shot upright, breathing heavily. Her breathing slowed down, as she told herself: "It's just a dream… It's just a dream…"
Eventually, her breathing evened, as she rose from her bed. Folding her night gown around her, she calmly walked out her bedroom door, through hallway upon hallway, down two flights of stairs before arriving at the kitchen doorframe. Peering inside, she could see a reclining figure on one of the island stools, talking quite loudly to whoever was on the other end.
She ignored the person inside and walked to the fridge, opening it up and reaching for the milk. She flinched as high-pitched laughter rung around her. Continuing to ignore the person, she poured her glass of Moomoo milk and made her way back towards the kitchen doorframe. As she made her way back up the flights of stairs, she navigated through "Spacious hall one," "Endless Hall two," "Infinity Hall three" before finally arriving back at her bedroom.
Opening the door, she jumped at the sight of a servant standing to the side.
"D-Darach, you nearly gave me a heart attack." She exclaimed, as she brought a hand to her chest.
"Sorry Mistress. Just noticed you were not in your bed." He quickly replied.
"Of course I'm not here! Don't give me a heart attack next time!"
"Of course Mistress."
Caitlin fumed for a few more seconds, before closing her eyes and breathing in and out. After a minute of breathing, she sighed and walked over to the mirror. She drank from her glass as she looked at her reflection. Long blond hair waltzed down her head, as her pastel lime and blue nightgown and pyjamas obscured her small figure. She peered at her eyes, seeing the familiar ocean of aqua. She looked a little lower and sighed at the sight of the deep bags underneath her eyes.
"Is everything alright, Mistress?" Darach inquired, looking poised to react to anything.
"Yes, yes, everything is fine Darach …" the girl says, before glancing down at her feet. "I just had another one of those strange dreams…"
"It was one of the dreams where everything seemed to move by itself, wasn't it?" Darach asked, getting a nod.
"That's the 4th time this week young Mistress. Are you certain you don't want to see a doctor about this?" Darach queried.
"Of course not, they've probably got a lot more important people and cases to look into." The girl insists, earning a defeated huff from Darach."
"If you insist, Mistress Caitlin. Now, go to sleep." Darach insisted.
Rolling her eyes, she gave the now empty glass to Darach before moving to stand before her massive bedroom window. It looked out upon the forest outside the Battle Frontier, and all the Pokémon that lived inside. She watched as the Pokémon of the night quietly moved through the rich foliage, their soft cries barely reaching her ears from the distance.
"Truly a beautiful sight." Darach whispered, as he walked up next to her. The two enjoyed the peaceful silence, intertwined with the soft noise of the wild Pokémon.
"Now, really, go to bed Caitlin." Darach said, bringing an end to the silence. "You've got a lot of battles to conduct tomorrow." Caitlin looked at him, before slowly nodding and moving over to her bed. As she pulled the expensive sheets up, she looked at Darach as he walked to the door. "Darach…" She started, causing the butler to stop and look at her. Caitlin clutched the bedsheets and bit her bottom lip as she stared at Darach for what seemed like an eternity, before his inclining of his head brought her back to reality.
"Make sure the glass is properly washed."
"Of course Mistress."
As Darach softly closed the door behind him, Caitlin lay her body down. As she snuggled into the bed, she closed her eyes. As her heart slowed, reality faded further and further away. She sensed the oncoming dream and braced herself. Soon, her eyes opened once more, and Caitlin found herself in the forest right outside her window. She looked around and saw the Battle Frontier not too far away. A sound to her right drew her attention to a group of Kircketot being led by a Kricketune making a gorgeous melody. Caitlin smiled as she looked around and noticed more and more Pokémon of the night. It was so beautiful. It was like she was right there. It didn't even seem like a dream.
oOoOo
Guess who's back!
I know it's been pretty much a year, so you deserve explanation. Quick rundown, Lost Motivation, Big Depression episode, Kinda forgot about the fic, School work, MORE school work aaaand now. I know I should have released this a long time ago, but life happens. On the other hand, Legends Arceus came out and now I have SO much Sinnoh Lore to work with, like, more about Cynthia's backstory, Hisuian Forms (I'm so torn on whether I should include them somehow), and just general Sinnoh lore. Anyways, hope you enjoyed the fic, HOPEFULLY I'll have a new chapter soon.
Love You Guys 3
