"Hey, guys! How was Cybertron?"
Upon exiting the sigma, the bots were greeted by an eager Cody.
They all greeted the small human and began the task of answering all his queries about their home planet.
The red elevator lowered down into the bunker, doors sliding open a few moments later.
"Welcome back, team." Chief greeted the bots.
Kade, Dani, and Graham stepped out of the elevator and went over to their partners, bombarding them with the same questions Cody had just asked.
"We brought back souvenirs!" Blades announced, saving the other bots from the upcoming interrogations their partners were just about to give them.
"Yeah. Here Cody." Blurr reached into his cabin and pulled out the small pillar-shaped rock he had gotten for the small human.
"For me?" Cody smiled and received the "small" rock with both hands. "Noble!" He grinned up at the purple mech. "Thanks, Blurr."
The speedster smiled back at him, happy he liked the small gift.
"I got you somethin' too." Salvage walked over to them, a necklace in servo.
"Did you make this?" Cody asked, amazed by the rock tied to the middle of the leather strings.
Salvage nodded, smiling at the eminent amazement on Cody's tiny face.
"Thanks, Salvage." He grinned, tying the handmade accessory around his neck.
"What did you get me Blades?" Dani asked eagerly.
"I got you this keychain." He took out a 'small' keychain and gave it to his partner.
"That's some keychain," Kade muttered to Graham.
"I got the smallest one I could find." Blades pouted.
"Awe, thanks, Blades." The brunette smiled up at her partner. "I'll use it as decor for my room."
"I brought you a copy of all the codes and regulations of Cybertron." Chase held the book out to the Chief. He had gotten it in the smallest size they could print it.
"Wow, uh- thanks, Chase." The Chief was a little taken aback by the size and thickness of the book, but he was touched by his partner's intention.
"Your most welcome." Chase was pleased Chief liked the gift.
Kade looked from his siblings and their partners to Heatwave.
The red mech cocked a brow at the redhead.
"So..where's my souvenir, Heat?" He shot a teasing smirk at the mech.
"What?"
Annoyed, Kade pointed to his siblings and the other bots.
Heatwave reached into his cabin and pulled out a picture from his glove box.
He held it out to his partner, a half-smile on his faceplates.
Kade eyed the picture; it was the skyline of Cyber City.
"Thanks.." he gave the mech a small smile and carefully rolled up the picture. It was big enough to be used as a poster for his room.
Heatwave gave him a small nod and continued to observe the scene before him.
He noticed Quickshadow doing the same from her corner of the room.
The femme felt his optics on her and glanced over to him.
She shot him a small smile that went unnoticed by everyone else in the room and walked out of the room.
He debated on whether or not he should follow her but decided to stay put. The other mechs were already making ideas out of them, and he didn't want to make it worse.
"I took a bunch of pictures, just like you asked me to." He overheard Blades talking to Dani as he held the camera's memory chip out to his partner.
"I'll go load them into the main computer- I can't wait to see what Cybertron looks like." She walked out of the room.
"We should get going to bed; we've got a busy day ahead of us. Good to have you bots back." Chief spoke up.
"It's good to be back." Heatwave smiled at the well-aged police officer.
"Good night." Cody waved as he got into the elevator with his dad and brothers.
"Night." The rest chimed.
Heatwave gathered his belongings- preparing to go to his sleeping chambers, when he noticed the other mechs eyeing him with smirks.
"What?" He cocked a brow at them.
"You never did tell us why you went after Quickshadow." Blades' smirk widened.
Heatwave felt his spark start to pound hard in its chamber. He did everything in his power to contain the blush that threatened to tint his faceplates blue.
"I- uh... I was just concerned..about her." He half lied.
"Mhm. Why were you concerned?"
"She dropped a business card belonging to some mech named Umbra. I felt that I needed to go check on her, so I did." He did his best not to stutter.
"So..do you like her?"
Heatwave couldn't contain the warm energon any longer. He tilted his helm just slightly, enough to hide his blue cheek plates.
"What?..No I don't like her, not like that." He was embarrassed and was starting to get irritated.
"Yes, you-" Blades was cut off by the police bot.
"It's getting late- I advise we all go get some recharge." Chase looked at the other mechs.
"Agreed." Heatwave nodded.
"Fine...Good night guys." Blades retreated to his chambers, but not before giving Heatwave a suspicious look.
Soon all the other mechs left the lounge room. Only Heatwave and Boulder remained.
"Thatfeeling-" Boulder began.
Heatwave looked over at him, waiting for him to continue.
"The one you were complaining so much about.-"
Heatwave's optics slightly widened.
'How did- ?'
"It's calledjealousy. You need to stop denying your feelings, Heatwave." And with that- the green mech was gone.
Heatwave, after a moment of mulling over the green mech's words- retreated to his chambers to think.
"Blades!" Dani's voice echoed throughout the bunker's hallways.
The copter bot looked up to see his partner standing at his door- camera in hand.
He shot her a confused look as she held up the camera to him.
"Why is Heatwave holding Quickshadow's servo?!"
The copter bot gasped as he took the camera from his partner and inspected the picture.
"I thought it didn't save!" A huge smile spread across his faceplates.
"Spill. Now."
