"Y'know I heard a couple of things when I was buying our tickets for Killua's match," Naru commented as she pulled out a seed from her pocket. She crossed her legs together and offered a small smile to her friends. Gon jerked his head at her, brown eyes growing wide with curiosity, while Killua stiffened his spine.
The silver-haired boy relaxed his shoulders and offered her a smile. "What did you hear?"
A stem sprouted out of the seed, barely brushing against the palm of her hand, as the question hovered in the air. She inspected the blank eyes of her friend before looking down at the stem in her hand. Little thornes began to grow out of the stem, prickling the skin of her palm until little blood droplets fell down to the ground.
With the air beginning to be painted with the scent of her blood, Naru answered. "That Sadaso is in the hospital because he got some pretty intense injuries after getting attacked last night."
"Will he be able to fight next month?" Gon asked.
She shook her head. "They reckon that he won't be able to fight till August."
"He must have pissed off the wrong person," Killua commented with a casual tone. The smile on his face did not falter and Naru had to give him credit because she knew she wouldn't be able to maintain a smile after doing something like that. But that was where she and Killua were different. She wasn't as good as him when it came to keeping her emotions in check.
She wished she was as good as him when it came to hiding her true emotions.
Gon inspected the two of them, his brown eyes flashing with suspicion before fading away. Naru held her breath and looked down at the stem in her hand. Blood dribbled down the side of the thorn, smacking the hard ground and staining it once more with her blood. It would have been a horrible scent but her nose had gotten used to the scent of blood. Her whole body got used to it.
These last couple of months needed her to get used to the scent of blood.
"I guess I need to fight the other guy, don't I?" Gon slumped his shoulders and leaned back on his seat.
Naru darted her eyes to Killua. The silver-haired boy had a tiny frown playing on his lips, looking almost a little bit guilty for his actions. She grimaced and curled her hands into a fist. There was absolutely no reason for him to feel guilty. He tried being nice with those bastards, and they decided to repay that kindness by blackmailing them. Those bastards were lucky that they weren't murdered by him.
She uncurled her hands into a fist and regarded the older boy. "Are you upset with what happened?"
"I don't feel upset that he went to the hospital," Gon confessed. There was a slight guilty smile playing on his lips and it was not long before the boy rubbed the back of his neck. "He blackmailed Killua and me in order to get a win so I can't help but think that he deserved what happened to him."
Naru smiled and relaxed her shoulders as her eyes drifted to Killua. The boy relaxed his shoulders and unlike his previous smile, there was sincerity in his smile. She closed her eyes and allowed her Nen to flow into the seed, nudging the cells to multiple even more. "Well, bad things happen to bad people."
Gon smiled and bobbed his head. She plopped the seed onto the table and slid her hand underneath the desk, reaching out for the cold hands that belonged to Killua. Maybe it was silly of her but all she wanted to do was comfort him. To make him understand that he had no reason to feel guilty because Gon wasn't upset for what happened. He probably wouldn't feel upset if he knew it was Killua, who had done it.
She squeezed his hand and maintained her expression even when Gon had that teasing smile playing on his lips. Naru raised her eyebrows at him, daring him to make his typical comment but her friend didn't utter a word. That was probably the smartest thing Gon had done because she didn't want to deal with his nonsense. Not when Killua was trying his hardest to change his ways.
To not follow his instincts.
"Even though Sadaso was badly injured, do you think they will still try to use Zushi against us?" Gon asked.
Killua snorted. "No, they know what they did was wrong and they know what happens when they try to blackmail the wrong people."
That is putting it lightly, she mused as her eyes focused on the plant before them. The thrones brought a strange deadly beauty to the flower, and she knew with just a little bit more practice that the seed will sprout into a beautiful rose. A beautiful rose that she also needed to learn how to manipulate the properties to ensure that it fitted her need. After all, she couldn't always let Killua do the dirty work for them.
The three of them were a team and while Gon might hesitate because of his morals, she would not.
"Killua," Gon's voice brought her crashing to reality and she blinked at the serious tone colouring his voice. "Did you hurt Sadaso?"
The silver-haired boy remained silent for a moment and then confessed. "I needed to give them a message about what happens when they try to blackmail us."
Gon frowned and flickered his eyes at her like he expected her to explain everything. She supposed he was befuddled about why Killua would go that far. Their friend made the comment about turning over a new leaf and he was doing as he said. It was…just that there was such thing as being too soft with those bastards.
"If it helps, he tried being nice and just gave them a friendly warning," she plucked the seed and caressed the throne as brown eyes focused entirely on her. "But I told him that he should just kill the culprit to give them a message…so I guess you can say that Killua went for the middle because he's still alive."
The black-haired boy licked his lips. "You wanted Killua to kill them?"
"Well if being nice wasn't going to teach them, then they needed to get a good dose of reality," she shrugged her shoulders and watched with wonder as leaves began to form from the stem. "He wanted them to follow your schedule but they decided to test their luck and use Zushi against you. So it's only fair that Killua gives them a bigger warning, isn't it?"
Gon considered her words for a moment and Naru held her breath as she waited for the boy to make a conclusion. Their friend knew Killua was trained to be an assassin so he should realize just how difficult it was for Killua to not kill someone. The fact he showed that much restraint showed how much her friend wanted to change.
"I guess it make sense," Gon agreed.
Naru relaxed her shoulders, offered a bright smile to Killua, and looked back at Gon. The knowing smile on his face brought a chill down her spine as something inside of her stirred. What was going through his mind? Why did he have that kind of expression when he was dealing with her? She rubbed her jaw and glanced at the silver-haired boy.
Her friend seemed to be just as confused as she was.
She shook her head. "Gon, why are you making that expression?"
"What expression?" His eyes held innocence but his voice betrayed him. It reeked with mischief.
Killua seemed to have the same idea. "You know what expression you're making, Gon! You look like you know something that we don't and it's really annoying us!"
Her heart fluttered and she licked her lips as she waited for her friend to explain himself. What did he know that they didn't know? They spent a lot of time together. The three of them barely spent any time away from each other. So what could he know? What could they be missing? Because there was nothing in their conversation that suggests that her friend knew about Killua's actions before this.
"I just think that it's nice that Killua feels comfortable to talk to you about what he did," Gon offered them a smile and looked across the window. "It shows how much he values your opinion."
And you don't value my opinion? The words were ready to be spat out but something about Gon's expression stopped her from saying it. The teasing glint in his eyes glowed to an uncomfortable degree and she knew if she questioned him, then he was going to tease them. Her heart began to pick up its pace and she turned her head to Killua.
The older boy tugged on his collar and couldn't meet her own eyes.
"I value your opinion as well, Gon," Killua informed him with a harden tone. "But…"
Naru frowned and waited for the boy to explain himself but he only shook his head and turned his head away from her. But what? It was just there ready to be said but she held herself back. If Killua wasn't ready to explain why he could talk to her about it and not Gon, then it was fine. The most likely reason was because she had a similar upbringing to him. Although she did not undergo the insane training that his family used on him.
Gon chuckled and waved his hand at him. "But you feel more comfortable talking about these things with Naru?"
"Of course not," Killua declared, shaking his head. Despite those words, she detected the falter in his tone and the embarrassment in his tone. She supposed it must be embarrassing for him to realize that he felt more comfortable talking to her than Gon. "But I didn't want you to know and well, it was too late for me to tell Wing about it…so I decided to go to Naru."
She folded her arms against her chest. "So I was back up?"
"No," he answered, shaking his head and offering her a smile. "When I thought of all the people that I wanted to talk to about what happened, you were the first person that came to my mind."
Naru stared at the warm smile playing on Killua's lips and gulped down the sudden lump in her throat. She ignored the strange heat bubbling beneath her skin and inspected the seed before her. Nice. Yes, it was nice to know he wanted to come to her first. All her life, no one ever thought of talking to her about their problems. Maybe it was because they saw her childish behavior and thought that she couldn't give them any advice.
Maybe they weren't close enough for them to seek her but the fact that Killua sought her first…meant that they were that close.
Naru rubbed her jaw and leaned her body forward as the crowds around her roared. The air practically vibrated with their excitement. The breeches shook and quivered as if it was in an earthquake. With a grimace, she darted her eyes to Gon. The older boy had a large smile playing on his lips, his eyes danced with excitement.
She placed her head on top of her hand and stared down at their smiling friend. "Killua will definitely win this fight, won't he?"
"Yeah because he's amazing," Gon agreed. They exchanged smiles and Naru gripped the rails with all the strength that she had. She inspected the scene before her. Killua walked towards his opponent with his hands and a cocky smile playing on his lips. Yet despite that arrogance radiating out of him, the rage shone through his eyes.
It was barely noticeable but she always noticed these kind of things when it came to him. From the moment they met each other, all she ever did was try to figure out Killua. Not just because he was her friend, her closest friend, but because he was always a mystery to her.
"Begin!"
She held her breath and smiled even wider when Killua launched into action. His energy glowed around him and in a blink of an eye, her friend jumped up in the air. He is going to be quick about this, she mused as his opponent jerked his head around. If he continued on with that kind of speed, then it would be almost impossible for the male to capture him or attack him.
Gon pumped his fist in the air and Naru snaked her arm around him, offering a one-arm hug to him. "Y'know after you two wins this fight, we should make sure to compliment Killua! He's going to get so flustered once we tell him that he's amazing!"
"You really love to fluster him," Gon observed with a sly smile. "You always compliment him whenever you have a chance."
She laughed and rubbed the back of her neck. "Yeah because he looks cute when he gets flustered."
Her friend offered her a knowing smile and Naru turned her head away from him. She hated when he gave her that look. It implied he thought there was more to her friendship with Killua when there was nothing more to it. It was normal for someone to enjoy flustering their friend. She used to enjoy teasing Hinata and Sakura about their crushes.
Although Hinata and Sakura did not give the same reaction that Killua did.
"Y'know Killua gets even more flustered when you're the one complimenting him," Gon observed. The smile on his face widened as the people around them cheered for Killua.
She kept her eyes focused entirely on Killua, who appeared right behind his opponent. He raised his hand but his opponent must have sensed him because he immediately whizzed away from her friend. Killua didn't seem to be annoyed about it. If anything, he was amused about it. That was good if you asked her.
It meant her friend was still confident about winning the whole thing.
Her smile faded when she realized what her friend had just informed her. "What do you mean he gets more flustered when I'm the one complimenting him?"
"It means you affect him more than me," he explained with a casual shrug.
Do I really affect him that much? Naru stared down at the stage as a sense of numbness crept up inside of her. She had never really seen how she affected him. All her silver-haired friend thought about was Gon and how he could be a better person and friend for the boy. Her? Well, Killua rarely talked about her but then again her friend wouldn't talk about her in front of her.
So she really didn't know if Gon was being truthful or if he was trying to comfort her.
With a shaky breath, she stared at their smiling friend and grabbed the rail. "I think you affect him even more because all he really cares about is what you think of him."
Gon doesn't smile and looked at her with subtle understanding but she clicked her tongue and turned away from him. This bitterness inside of her didn't make sense. It was great that Killua cared about what Gon thought of him, cared about being a better person for their friend but…she wished he would care about himself. One of these days, she was just afraid to see him forsake his own safety for their friend's safety.
I guess his Dad was right to ask me to hover with them, she mused as her eyes focused on the stage before them. Riehvelt pulled out the bullwhips from his wheelchair. He swirled and whipped the bullwhips almost like he was trying to threaten her friend but if he was trying to be scary…then he failed. Honestly, it was like a joke if you asked her.
"There is his song of defense," the announcer declared as winds smacked her on the cheek. "The fierce lashes from the whip will protect him while he goes in for his attack."
Naru arched her eyebrows and snorted. Fierce? It was anything but fierce if you asked her. The speed was lackluster and if she thought like that, then Killua would have a similar opinion. After all, he had been training to be a killer from the moment that he took his first steps. To him, this was probably child's play.
Killua let out a rather loud yawn and dragged his feet towards the whips. His footsteps were light, barely noticeable while his eyes glowed with dark amusement. It was a cute sight for her while…horrible news for his opponent. After all when her friend had that look on his face, it meant the fight was going to be over soon.
Her silver-haired friend wasn't known for allowing a fight to prolong when he was bored.
"You're doomed now that I'm using my whips!"
Killua tilted his head. "Why?"
"Now he is just toying with him," she whispered with a little laugh.
Gon blinked. "You think so?"
"Definitely," she confirmed with a grin. Her fingers jerked to their friend's body while her eyes drifted to the screen. "Killua probably already figured out why his opponent would think like that but he is probably asking him because he just want to see how stupid they are."
The dark-haired boy snapped his fingers, earning scowls from their fellow observers. Naru shook her head and flashed a warm smile to her friend before directing her eyes again to Killua. Her friend sighed, tilted his head to the side and grabbed the bullwhips. Almost everyone in the audience gasped. Riehvelt froze for a moment, jaw slacked a little bit like a fool.
It took one second for Killua's opponent to get over his shock and press the button on his bullwhip. Her whole body froze when blue sparks began to erupt from the whip. For a moment, the stage disappeared and was replaced with the Valley Of the End. Her ears sang with the chirps that came from the Chidori and cold sweat began to break out. Instead of Killua standing before her, she saw Sasuke's furious black eyes.
A phantom-like pain erupted from her chest.
"Naru, are you okay?"
Just like that, the pain faded and the image vanished like it had never been there. She took several deep breathes, trying to calm down her crying heart, and looked back at her concern friend. "Yeah…I'm fine."
"You're clutching your chest," Gon pointed out.
She clenched her jaw and offered him a tight smile. "I'm fine but I'm worried about Killua. There is no way that he can handle…"
Her words faded when she heard Killua's opponent scream. Tearing her eyes from Gon, she focused her eyes back on the stage. Naru felt her heart stopped when she saw that the silver-haired boy clutched the whip like it was nothing. Doesn't he feel pain? She licked her rough lips and grabbed the rails as her heart thundered against her chest. The crowds clapped their hands and their joy coloured the air but…she couldn't feel the joy.
How could she? That much voltage could potentially kill someone.
Killua swirled the bullwhip, turning his opponent around until he tossed him up in the air. The audience grew quiet and only Riehvelt's screams filled the stage. She should feel sorry for him. After all, he was a disable man but…he blackmailed her friends. That was unforgivable. What happened next was the result for his own stupidity if you asked her. Killua would have allowed him to win if he did as her friend's requested them to do.
"Electricity won't work on me," Killua declared and Naru blinked at the dark amused tone coming out of her friend's mouth. "I've been trained to withstand torture…but only means I can tolerate it."
For some strange reason, her heart began to weep at this information while her stomach coiled up with an unfamiliar emotion. She felt tears welling up behind her eyes and Naru clenched her jaw. She hated it. Crying never helped anyone. If she cried because her friend had been tortured by his family, then it wouldn't help anyone. It wouldn't help Killua. She swallowed down the lump in her throat and ignored the feelings bubbling inside of her.
"He has been through a lot, hasn't he?" Gon squeezed her shoulder and offered her a sad smile.
She hiccupped and rubbed her eyes before turning her head away from him. "Y'know I really hate his family because how can they do that to him? I don't care if it was training because…he deserves better than that."
Her mind could only picture the image of a younger Killua being tortured, being desensitized into thinking that it was normal for a family to do it. How many times must he have cried out from the pain? To deal with the constant shock? She went through one round with the Chidori and still hadn't recovered from what Sasuke had done. Killua? He must be going through a lot worse.
No, he had been dealing with even worse shit than her.
"It's different now," Gon reminded her with a wide smile. "He has us now and we're going to make sure that he doesn't go through that kind of pain…ever again."
Can we? She wanted to ask him but swallowed it down. To confess about her concern would mean opening up about her weakness. No matter how much she tried to go back, to hold onto the facts, her friends would always have some hold on her. Even though she knew, just knew that neither her nor Gon wanted him to go through that pain, a part of her felt that it was impossible for them to protect him.
How could they? If Gon continued on like this, then it was inevitable that they were going to get hurt.
But…she couldn't say that to their friend. "I guess you're right because he does have us now."
With those words, Naru returned her eyes back onto the stage. Killua's eyes lit up with cheekiness and she felt her lips curved downwards when she saw that Killua activated the whip. Never let it be said that Killua doesn't get his payback, she mused as her friend caught the man. A loud cry sliced through the air. Riehvelt quivered and spasmed before laying motionlessly on her friend's hand. The boy promptly dropped the man onto the ground.
"Killua wins!"
The crowd roared and clapped their hands but Naru only sunk deeper against her seat as her eyes focused on her smiling friend. He really is one of the most amazing people that I have ever met, she mused as Killua walked away from his opponent. No way she could keep smiling if she had his childhood, could keep her sanity like her friend did because any other person would break from what her friend endured. Her throat tightened and she stared down at her feet.
Her friend really did deserve the world after what he endured.
"So what got you so mopey?"
Killua leaned against his seat and took a sip of his drink while his eyes focused on the blond-haired girl beside him. She hadn't said a word to him since he came out of the stage, only offering him a quiet congratulation and tossing him his favourite drink. Gon hadn't explained it to him either. Although, he supposed, the boy hadn't paid much attention to realize that their female friend was upset about something.
The boy did need to focus on his own match and observing Naru was the least of Gon's concern. He let out a sigh, dangled his drink and looked at the stage before them. If his opponent was of any clue about the skill level, then his friend had nothing to worry about. He had grown a lot since their journey began, grown enough for him to be confident that he would win this fight.
"Nothing," Naru denied. She offered him a wide smile and if he had been anyone else, he would accept her words. But her eyes leaked of sadness, overwhelming sadness that threatened to consume him. It always did whenever he saw her in that state.
He poked her in the ribs and let out a little laugh when the blonde let out a little squeal. "How many times must I tell you that you are a crappy liar?"
"Well, not everyone is skilled liar like ya," she wrinkled and stared at the scene before them. Gido held up his crane, revealing ten spinning dancing tops that glowed with his aura. "Besides, I'm a better liar than Gon, Kurapika and Leorio! You're the only one who can tell whenever I'm lying about something."
He quirked his lips into a smile and nudged at her. "Even if you can fool those guys, you still need to practice when it comes to your lying skills."
Naru didn't utter a word, only inspected him for a moment with wobbling lips. He waited for her to say the thing that was bothering her but his friend twisted her neck away from him. Of course, she is going to be stubborn about it. A sigh crawled out of his mouth and he returned his eyes back to Gon. The older boy had the smart idea of increasing his output and to wrap his Nen around his fishing rod because that was probably the only reason he survived that attack.
"How can you still…smile?" Naru whispered.
He jerked his head at the girl. His friend had her eyes devoted to Gon but sadness and pain drowned her voice. Those small hands quivered like it was taking all of her power to control herself. She dug her fingers against the rail, imprinting a mark on it. With a small pained sigh, the girl finally turned her head to focus her blue eyes on him. The same eyes that pleaded for him to answer her.
Killua considered her words for a moment and then tilted his head. "What do you mean?"
"Your parents poisoned you for every meal," she sniffed, eyes focusing entirely on Gon. "And apparently they tortured you with electricity because it was a form of training. Knowing them, they might have done even more horrible things because it was training."
The cheers of the crowd became muffled in his ears as an odd feeling crept up inside of him. Killua swallowed down the ball of emotions inside of his throat, forced a smile to play on his lips while his eyes locked on the girl beside him. Tears welled up in Naru's eyes, offering a strange glow to her eyes. Snot dribbled down her nose and it should have been ugly for him…but it wasn't that ugly.
No, it only caused his heart to clench and his lungs to burn up with unfamiliar emotions.
"It's normal in our family," he reminded her. "What I went through is nothing compared to what Kurapika went through or what your best friend went through and…."
It's nothing compared to what you went through. The words seemed to decide to stay glued to his throat, never coming out even though he longed to point out that she went through something horrible. For all his parents and siblings made him go through, they…loved him in their own weird way. They were horrible people, hurt him in every possible way but they wanted what was best for this family. Hurting him had been inevitable…and it was what allowed him to be the heir.
"What they went through is horrible but what you went through is painful as well," Naru declared, squeezing his arms. The crowds whooped as Gon swung his fishing rod at his opponent. "How can someone hurt their own blood? Their own family member?"
Killua snorted. "Didn't Itachi hurt his own brother? Didn't your Dad hurt you when he decided to make you a jinchuuriki?"
The moment he uttered those last words was when the guilt gnawed on him. That was a shitty thing to remind his friend because she didn't need to be reminded that all of her problems had been caused by her Dad. Knowing his friend, she probably spent nights, cursing her father for putting such a huge burden on her. God knew, he would curse the man for doing something like that to her.
"Itachi was put in a difficult position if your theory is right…although I might need to ask him about why he agreed with the elder's orders," she muttered. The blonde shook her head and continued on. "As for my Dad, well he probably wasn't thinking that he was my Dad when he made the decision. He couldn't ask someone to give up their own child for the task but your parents hurt you and I…"
More tears swelled up in her eyes and it was not long before the tears dribbled down from her eyes like a never-ending river. Killua dropped his shoulders and ignored the burning sensation building up inside of his chest. He hated it. Hated the fact that almost every time he was the reason behind her tears. Why couldn't she always smile around him? Why couldn't she be indifferent to what he went through? Gon had no problem.
Everyone else had no problem with what he went through so why was Naru different?
"You should stop crying," he grumbled. Naru hiccupped and rubbed her eyes, focusing them entirely on him. The strange feeling inside of him grew even more, never faltering even when Gon threw the fishing line towards the man. "Every time you cry, you look so ugly! You should just smile because you look better with a smile!"
The blonde turned her head away from him and barked. "So what if I look ugly when I cry? Why should I give a shit about what people think about me when I cry?"
Because it makes me uncomfortable to know that I'm the reason that you are crying. It sounded so sweet and mushy, something from one of those comics that his sister loved to read, and it was the last thing that he wanted to say to her. So he turned his head away from her and watched as Gon yanked the tile from the stadium. How was he going to explain it without Naru getting the wrong idea from him? It wasn't like he wanted her to think he was developing feelings for her.
Because this wasn't the case if you asked him.
"You won't get a boyfriend if you keep crying." Even as he said those words, he cringed and felt his blood bubbling underneath his skin like a volcano ready to erupt. It was stupid for him to get upset over the idea of his friend dating someone. They were friends and she could do whatever she wanted.
The blonde snorted and let out a laugh. "Then I better keep crying because I don't want a boyfriend. I already have my plate fool with you, Gon and Sasuke…if I get a boyfriend then he might get the wrong idea of me."
"You already thought about it?" He jerked his head at her.
"About going on a date? Not really," she shrugged her shoulders and stared at Gon. "Romantic relationships need time, commitment as well as total honesty…and frankly I can't do two of those things. I don't have much time and I can't be totally honest because of what I have inside of me. But ever since your parents tried to fool me into thinking about the fake engagement, I have been…thinking about it."
He kept quiet and closed his eyes as the emotions continued to bubble up inside of him. Time, commitment and total honesty. He probably could do two of those things but honesty? No, it was difficult for him to do the whole honesty thing. Being honest wasn't how his family raised him and it wasn't the way he operated. Killua let out a sigh and allowed his eyes to drift to Naru, who beamed at the sight of Gon rushing towards his fallen opponent.
With a weary sigh, he looked at the stadium before him. "Well your future boyfriend might get jealous that you cry about every person, who went through something difficult."
"He will only be jealous of you then," Naru commented with a sigh. He jerked his head and the girl flashed him a smile. "Cuz you're the only person that can make me cry for them."
His throat tightened a little bit. "Then you shouldn't cry for me because of what I went through! I'm used to it!"
The blond-haired girl turned her whole body away from the stage and stared at him. There was no emotion in her face but there was a slight quiver in her body like she wanted to cry again. Great! Just great! He made the whole thing worse. Killua took a deep breath, opened his mouth to apologize, only to freeze when the girl pulled him in for a hug.
Warmth flooded his system and it was not long before the girl rubbed his back. The hair on the back of his neck stood up while he fought off his body's natural instinct to stiffen. It did not take long for his shoulders to relax and for him to accept the warmth that she offered. She always does this. He should hate it. But he wanted more of her hugs, of the warmth that she brought him and to have all of that care directed at him.
Maybe if he had met Gon and her earlier, then he would be used to the comfort and love that they gave him.
"Y'know I'm crying because you can't cry," she squeezed him even tighter and looked him straight in the eye. "When you informed that jerk about what your parents went through, all I can think about is how much you must have cried when they did it to you. How much pain you were in because electricity is no joke. For God's sake, Sasuke rammed me through the chest with the Chidori and I still haven't recovered from it."
He froze. "He did…what?"
"Shit, I shouldn't have told you about that." Naru let out a nervous laugh and pulled away from him. Blue eyes flashed with resignation and guilt as if she wished she hadn't uttered those words to him. She rubbed the back of her neck. "Can we not talk about it? Cuz I think we should celebrate Gon and your win instead of damping the party mood."
Killua twitched.
"No! We're definitely going to talk about your best-friend trying to kill you and how insane you are to go after him!"
So I was thinking of keeping Sasuke's action hidden from Killua and Gon till the next arc but it seemed to fit better here. The original plan was to have Gon and Killua reveal their Nen here but it didn't fit the chapter so it will be in the next chapter alongside Gon's reaction towards what Naru went through.
Q1: Do you think I need to decrease the moments between Killua and Naru?
Q2: How do you think Gon will react when he finds out about what Sasuke did to Naru?
Q3: Do you think I should add more scenes between Naru and Gon in the next arc?
Q4: From a scale of 1-10, how insane do you think Killua thinks Naru is?
Please do let me know of your thoughts of this chapter.
