What a surprise we've had at the game show awards when Sephiroth was announced for smash bros. Which unfortunately means if Sora has any chance of getting in, it's gonna take a little longer since Sakurai seems to do one square enix rep at a time with each character pass.
Ryuko: Sorry, Sora.
Meliodas: Better luck next time.
Sora: Don't worry. It's cool you guys. *Internal screaming*
Other than that, I have no plans for Cloud and Sephiroth to be included in my re:route timeline...yet.
Chapter 3: Hunt for the sins
(Forest of white dreams)
"I think I know this lightning. It came from the sword back in the village that had their water supply locked up!" Satsuki accused the holy knight.
"But, Satsuki! It can't be! You're wrong! Gilthunder would never…" Elizabeth tried defending the holy knight only to stop when she met Gilthunder's eyes to see him coldy staring at her and realized that her childhood friend had changed. "No…"
"Why would you do that? Just because a kid stood up to you when you insult his village?" Sora said as he got into a battle stance and Gilthunder ignored the keyblade wielder and instead pointed his electrified sword at him.
"Do you know why the holy knights are after the heads of the seven deadly sins?" Gilthunder asked.
"Is it because they're the ones that can kick your asses?" Ryuko guessed.
"I was speaking to Meliodas."
"Not really." Meliodas answered.
"Half of them are seeking revenge and total eradication of the rebel order that plotted to overthrow the kingdom. The other half want to do glorious battle and vanish the legendary warriors to prove their own strength." Gilthunder explained.
"And which half are you in?"
"Both of them. No...I want more." Gilthunder said.
"Is that so?" Meliodas questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"Yes. To avenge the death of my father, Zaratas, the holy knight's grandmaster. And to show that I am even greater than him, the most powerful holy knight to ever live. Killing you will prove that."
"Hey, pal. Me and my sister get what you mean." Ryuko spoke up to get Gilthunder's attention. "Our dad was killed too, so we're in the same boat."
"But revenge is not the answer. Our goals to avenge our father nearly consumed us both. Blind revenge will lead to your destruction." Satsuki agreed with Ryuko.
Besides, you don't even have any proof that perv and his pals killed your dad." Ryuko said.
"There's no proof defending the seven deadly sins, either." Gilthunder countered. "Besides, like I said. It's more than vengeance."
"So you are under the impression that I killed your father, is that it?" Meliodas questioned.
"You're saying you're not?"
"No idea." Meliodas answered as he thought back to ten years ago on the day the grand master was killed. "The thing is, I don't remember much from back then. The last thing I remember is all of us being summoned to the old castle on the edge of town. When we got there, Zaratas was already dead. Next thing we all know, the whole castle was surrounded by holy knights. I had no choice but to tell the other sins to split up, and then a voice saying that they were sorry spoke up. Those words are the last I remember. The rest is blank. The next thing I knew, I was lying down in a cellar somewhere. That's when I met Hawk."
"Nice you remember the good old times. But I'm getting fired by this lightning here!" Hawk said as the lightning that was bounding the talking pig was slowly roasting him.
"So if the grandmaster was already gone when they found him, Meliodas and the others must be innocent!" Sora guessed.
"I knew it! You really weren't the ones who killed the grandmaster, were you?" Elizabeth said.
"That makes no difference to me." Gilthunder said, much to Elizabeth's shock.
(Music: Face it)
What do you mean?!"
Rebels and traitors who plotted to overthrow the kingdom. That's all you people are." Gilthunder said with vicious intent.
"Enough! You must stop this!" Elizabeth pleaded as Gilthunder turned his attention towards her. "Didn't you hear what he just told you? They aren't the ones who murdered him! Don't understand?!"
"Elizabeth. The kingdom wants you taken into protective custody. But, I haven't the slightest interest in that. Alive or dead, it's all the same. To me, you are no more a grain of sand on the road that is being traveled." Gilthunder said as he snapped his fingers and the bonds holding Elizabeth broke. "Go away. The sins and I have unfinished business."
"Hey! That's no way to talk to someone that was your friend!" Sora shouted.
"Ah, yes. There's you, child. For some reason, the kingdom also wants you alive as well." Gilthunder said, much to everyone's surprise.
"Me?"
"That's weird…" Diane said.
"I understand us and the other sins, but why Sora?" Meliodas questioned.
"I don't why the capital would want with a boy with the strangest looking weapon I've seen. But grandmaster Hendrickson has given me an order that I bring you to Liones." Gilthunder explained.
"Well your boss is about to be disappointed!" Sora said as he got his keyblade ready for a fight, only to be surprised when Elizabeth stood defensively in front of him and the others. "Elizabeth?"
"I won't let you lay a hand on these people!" Elizabeth exclaimed, much to Gilthunder's annoyance, but then his attention was grabbed by the still roasting Hawk crawling near him.
(Music stops)
"It's over for me...I feel numb, like I've been electrocuted…" Hawk groaned and was then kicked far away by Gilthunder into the woods. "WWWWWAAAAAAA!"
"Hawk, no!" Elizabeth shouted as she chased after the pig to help them as Gilthunder turned back to the group.
"Now that's just a low blow! Sure, the pig gets on my nerves, but he didn't deserve that!" Ryuko said while Gilthunder ignored her.
"Now that we dealt with that interruption…" Gilthunder said as he turned towards Meliodas.
Are you sure about this? In the old days, you were never able to beat me, remember? Same might be said for Sora since I have no idea how strong he is." Meliodas said.
"That was a long time ago. And the boy doesn't even matter." Gilthunder said as he suddenly turned into lightning to slip past Sora to look Meliodas in the eye.
"What the?!" Sora questioned as he realized that Gilthunder's speed may match that of the organization member, Larxene.
"I am now more powerful than any of the seven deadly sins…" Gilthunder claimed as Meliodas calmly looked him in the eyes.
(Music: The 13th struggle~2.5 ver~)
"I don't know, maybe you're right. But you could be wrong too." Meliodas said.
"Then we should find out. First I release you from your bonds."
"Well, I appreciate that, but I got it." Meliodas said as he flexed his arms to easily break free of his lightning bonds while Diane did the same. "We could've escaped whenever we felt like it."
"Just know if I felt like it, I could annihilate you instantly along with this entire forest." Gilthunder said.
"Go ahead and try!" Sora shouted as he rushed over to Ryuko and Satsuki and cut them free of their lightning bonds, allowing the sisters to draw the rending scissors and bakuzan.
"Now it's five on one you pink haired douche!" Ryuko said as she pointed her scissor blade at the knight.
"And one of us could easily crush you!" Diane said as she smashed her fist into her hand.
"Hold up you guys, it's me and Sora this guy wants. Could you just stay out of this?" Meliodas asked the rest of the group.
"Aw, you get all the fun." Diane complained.
"I gotta agree. You two should stay out of the fight until we know what this guy could do." Sora said to Ryuko and Satsuki.
"Don't want to risk me defeating all of you at once?" Gilthunder said as he readied his sword and swung at Meliodas while Sora dashed forward to clash his keyblade against the knight's sword while Meliodas did the same with the dragon handle. "I will use my sword to kill both of you!"
"Right back at 'cha!" Sora and Meliodas said at the same as they used their combined strength to push back the holy knight while Gilthunder countered by pointing his sword forward and released a stream of lightning at the two, only for the keyblade wielder and the former captain to dodge to the side to avoid the attack while Sora dashed forward again with flash step that Gilthunder easily deflected with his sword and let his opponent pass by.
"Please. A child couldn't even touch me." Gilthunder taunted.
"Think again!" Sora exclaimed as he quickly spun around with quick slash and delivered an upward slash that took Gilthunder by surprise as he barely had to guard against Sora's keyblade with his sword and was knocked backwards by the attack and then easily counter by turning into a streak of lightning, much to Sora's surprise. "What the?!" He questioned as he tried to keep track of the lightning, only to be struck in the back by a kick from Gilthunder.
"Like I said, you can't touch me." Gilthunder repeated as Sora recovered off the ground.
"Put a touch on this! Stream!" Sora shouted as shot a sphere from his keyblade at Gilthunder, which unbeknownst to the holy knight was a waterga spell which he mistakenly tried to stop with his electrified sword as he sliced at and caused electricity throughout his body.
"What the?!" Gilthunder said as he was surprised by the watery counterattack that caused him to short circuit.
"I never thought you'd make that mistake, little Gil!" Meliodas said as he jumped at the seemingly stunned Gilthunder.
"What makes you think I made a mistake?" Gilthunder asked, revealing that he had faked the short circuit as he charged up his sword and brought it down on Meliodas with a lightning strike, only for the attack to fail when the dragon handle absorbed the lightning and allowed Meliodas to use full counter that Gilthunder fazed away from to avoid the attack.
"Like we said. "Right back at cha!" Remember that?" Meliodas said.
"And I told you. You'll be dead!" Gilthunder exclaimed as he reappeared behind the former captain and swung his sword at Meliodas' head, only for him to guard the attack with his broken sword.
"Take this!" Sora announced as he tossed his keyblade with strike raid at Gilthunder, who backed away from Meliodas to avoid the thrown weapon, only for Sora to call back his keyblade as he and Meliodas rushed together at the holy knight.
"Gotta admit, you've improved over the years!" Meliodas said with glee as he and Sora pushed back against Gilthunder's sword.
"And you still believe you're superior to me!" Gilthunder said as he held his opponents back.
"We can back it up if you want!" Sora said as he backed away from the sword lock to latch onto a tree and started spinning around it with flowmotion and then used the momentum to fly at Gilthunder and knocked him away from Meliodas while catching himself on another tree and transforming into his element form and changing his keyblade into the double arrow guns as he landed on a tree branch, much to the surprise of Meliodas and Gilthunder at see the keyblades change into another weapon.
"This seems to have gotten interesting." Gilthunder commented as Sora pointed the arrowguns at him.
"I got a feeling you may wanna be ready for that." Meliodas advised as Sora began shooting a barrage of six fireballs at Gilthunder, who sidestepped to avoid the attacks.
"I never heard of magic allowing one to transform their into another. You're definitely more interesting then I thought." Gilthunder commented.
"You might wanna be ready for more!" Sora said as he began using auto shoot to unleash a barrage of magical bullets at Gilthunder and force him to move backwards to avoid the attack.
"Can't you aim those better?" Gilthunder taunted.
"He didn't need to!" Meliodas' voice spoke up from behind Gilthunder, surprising the holy knight as he looked behind himself to see the former captain kick him high into the above the trees and jumped after him, where Meliodas' and Gilthunder's eyes met before clashing blades again while descending towards the ground where Gilthunder knocked Meliodas into a boulder. "You're persistent!"
"I need to be." Gilthunder responded as he rushed to attack with a lightning infused thrust, which was the opening Meliodas was waiting for as the former captain smiled and then flipped over the holy knight as he thrusted his sword into the boulder instead of the former captain.
"He's all yours, Sora!" Meliodas shouted out to the keyblade wielder as Gilthunder turned his head to see Sora combine his arrowguns into the magic launcher, which began powering up.
"See ya later!" Sora shouted as the magic launcher releashed a powerful shot towards Gilthunder that exploded upon contact with the ground near the holy knight while Meliodas joined Sora's side after his keyblade returned to normal.
"I can't believe you were friends with that guy." Sora said.
"And I can't believe he's gotten this powerful." Meliodas said with a hint of pride.
"Don't worry...:" Gilthunder said as he suddenly reappeared behind Meliodas, unharmed from Sora's attack with his sword raised. "I'll bring the others with you soon enough!" He said as Sora turned around too late to see the holy knight bring his sword down on Meliodas' back to slash his shoulder and cut his sword holster apart and fell face down on the ground.
(Music ends)
"Meliodas!" Sora shouted before he was knocked back into a tree by a lightning blast from Gilthunder while the rest of the group looked at the fallen Meliodas.
"Captain?" Diane said as Meliodas was unresponsive on the ground.
"Oh shit…" Ryuko said while even Satsuki had a look of surprise at the seemingly defeated captain. As Meliodas layed down on the ground, Gilthunder flipped the bleeding former captain over with his foot so his face could be seen.
"Meliodas, the seven deadly sins' dragon sin of wrath. Do you have any last words?" Gilthunder asked as Meliodas looked at the holy knight weakly.
"The sins...what happened to them? You must've heard something, right? Where...have the other ones gone?" Meliodas asked, weakly as Gilthunder sheathed his sword.
"Very well, I'll tell you. Of the remaining five, three of them are still at large, and remain unaccounted for. But, the other two have been dealt with. The fox sin of greed is being held under tight security at Baste prison. The grizzly sin of sloth has been slain, and has been interred in the necropolis. But you need to worry, I'll make certain they all join you shortly." Gilthunder said as Meliodas continued to look at him weakly.
"Thank you…" Meliodas thanked as he shut his eyes. But suddenly opened them again with a smile on his face. "Awesome!"
"WHAT THE HELL?!" Ryuko shouted at the surprise of Meliodas jumping back up on the ground, despite his injury.
"Thanks, little Gil!" Meliodas thanked as Sora sweatdropped at Meliodas' ruse, while Ryuko was twitching her eyes and Satsuki and Gilthunder remained silent.
"This guy is driving me over the edge." Ryuko said as she tried containing her anger.
"Getting close there myself." Satsuki agreed while Meliodas and Gilthunder stood off yet again.
"Baste prison and the necropolis, huh? I'll go check out one or the other." Meliodas said.
"So that was it. You wish to know your comrades' whereabouts, so you allowed me to strike you down, right?" Gilthunder asked as he put together Meliodas' ruse.
"Why don't we finish this another time? 'Kay?" Meliodas suggested while Gilthunder put his hand on his sword again.
"I think not!" Gilthunder exclaimed as he drew his blade and swung it at Meliodas, only to miss when the former captain fazed away and reappeared behind the holy knight. When Gilthunder swung his again at Meliodas, his blow was blocked by Sora's keyblade before making contact.
"He said we don't have the time for you!" Sora said as he and Gilthunder jumped away from each other.
"If you insist on getting in the way. So be it!" Gilthuder said as he gathered a large amount of lightning throughout his sword and brought it back while Sora prepared for the attack.
"LIGHTNING KING IRON HAMMER!" Gilthunder announced his attack as he shot a powerful bolt of lightning at the keyblade wielder, who tried to block the attack with his keyblade, but instead Sora's weapon was absorbing the attack. "What?!"
"Here! Back to you!" Sora announced as he reared back the keyblade and prepared to throw the lightning back. However, before Sora could unleash his counter attack, he quickly took notice of the red eyed crow that appeared earlier before Gilthunder's arrival and was staring right at the keyblade wielder.
"*Caw!*" The red eyed crow cried as Sora looked at it and then had a feeling he couldn't explain all of a sudden, one that told him not to strike Gilthunder down. Once Sora made up his mind, he swung his keyblade forward and sent the powerful thunderbolt back at Gilthunder, only to miss the holy knight by a few inches and down the forest trail.
"You...Missed? Hmm, how ironic. That seemed to be your last shot at beating me." Gilthunder siad.
"No it's not. Because we'll see you later." Sora said as Gilthunder noticed a large shadow looming over him and looked up behind him to see Diane pick him up.
"You heard him and the captain. Some other time!" Diane said as she reered her arm back to toss the holy knight.
"Unhand me!" Gilthunder demanded as his whole body sparked with electricity to try and shock the giantess's grip off him, only to no effect.
"Here's a tip for you, okay? Girls get really annoyed when sniveling little runts try to shock them!" Diane shouted as she tossed Gilthunder with all her might out of the forest.
(Gravity magic learned!)
"Wow! I think that's a new record, Diane!" Meliodas said as he watched Gilthunder disappear from sight. After making sure the holy knight was gone, Meliodas noticed that Diane's right vambrace had become charred and ruined from Gilthunder's lightning. "Wow, that brace is ruined."
"Huh? Aw great. There's no human armor smiths that make any my size." Diane complained as she tossed the ruined vambrace off her arm.
"How far did you throw that guy away?" Ryuko asked.
"At least ten miles. But then again, I'm out of practice."
"Maybe we shouldn't take our chances and get going." Sora suggested as Hawk suddenly came trotting into the scene with Elizabeth following behind.
"HEY! You gotta a lot of guts kicking me around like I'm some pink bouncing ball! But it will be my turn next time!" Hawk exclaimed his revenge at Gilthunder, although he was already gone.
"No one was hurt, were they?" Elizabeth expressed concern.
"We're good!" Meliodas answered while Sora gave a thumbs up.
"Where did that swine go?" Hawk asked as he looked around for Gilthunder.
"Wait, aren't you a swine?"
"He smells delicious!" Diane said, drooling at the smell of roasted pig while Elizabeth noticed Meliodas' injury and ran over to him.
"Sir Meliodas! You were hurt!" Elizabeth exclaimed
"This?" Meliodas asked as he looked at his bleeding shoulder. "This is nothing."
"Doesn't look like it. I got some healing magic if you need it." Sora offered.
"Nah, it's good." Meliodas denied.
"You're gonna just drop dead if you don't get that looked at." Ryuko advised.
"The others are right. You're injured and you need to face that." Satsuki agreed as Diane's jealousy started flaring up again.
"Hey! Quit getting touchy feely with the captain!" Diane exclaimed.
"Again, us and him. Not happening." Ryuko reminded the giantess while Hawk got annoyed at being ignored.
"Hey! Aren't you guys forgetting something?! I just got my butt kicked!" Hawk exclaimed.
Sorry, Hawk. I'll put a cold towel on you later." Elizabeth offered as Hawk ran up to her.
"Oh! You're the only one who worries about me, Elizabeth!" Hawk said while a neoshadow was forming out the ground near the princess and then jumped at her and Hawk, which caught Sora's attention in time.
"Look out!" Sora warned as he cut down the neoshadow in time before it could reach Elizabeth. "I'm starting to think we get going. More heartless are starting to show up."
"Sora's got a point. Let's get back to the boar hat and start making our way to baste prison." Meliodas said as he began walking in the direction that the group came from.
"Hey, captain. If I can't eat the piggy, do you have some pork I can?" Diane asked as the group began following the former captain.
"You really don't want to wanna eat anything he makes. Trust us." Ryuko advised the giantess. While the group walked down the forest trail, Sora heard a noise that caught his attention.
"Huh?" Sora questioned as he broke off from the rest of the group to investigate the weird noise, which seemed to be coming from nearby in the trees, and to Sora, it sounded like a motor running, which was strange to the keyblade wielder since Britanna was a medieval world. "What is that sound-huh?!" He nearly shouted as Sora looked between some trees to see one of ' robots wandering around the area.
"Investigating area of strange lightning storm." The robot proclaimed with its single eye lightening up as it spoke and looked under rocks for no apparent reason while Sora was standing with his mouth wide open and hiding behind a tree so the robot wouldn't see him.
"Okay, I must be going nuts. A robot here? In this world?" Sora said to himself as he thought about the reason for the robot's presence. "Well, it's one of those friendly robots, like Baymax." He hoped, only to be proved wrong when the robot suddenly heard a noise that made it's single eye glow.
"Annihilate! Annihilate!" The robot yelled as it began shooting the blasters at the ends of it's long arms in every direction, forcing Sora to duck behind a tree to avoid the laser bolts being blasted at seemingly no one until the robot eventually stopped firing and then looked up at a tree branch to see the source of the noise it heard was actually a squirrel that simply stared at the robot before running away.
"Source of noise disturbance: Common squirrel." The robot noted as it lowered it's blasters.
"Okay, not friendly." Sora said as he summoned his keyblade and reared it back before throwing it at the robot and bumped it on the head, which caused it to be knocked down.
"Ow! Not cool!" The robot said before it exploded into its mechanical pieces, erasing evidence that it existed, much to Sora's relief.
"Alright. Kept the world order by keeping it safe from robots. Unless there's more." Sora said to himself, half hoping there were no more robots, but with his luck, he knew otherwise.
"Sora!" Satsuki's voice called out to the keyblade wielder as he turned to see the rest of the group waiting up the trail for him. "What's taking you so long?"
"Sorry! Thought I saw some heartless!" Sora said as he ran over to join the rest of the group.
(Meanwhile, on the other side of the forest of white dreams)
After Sora destroyed the scouting robot, Lawrence immediately detected it's destruction on a data pad with a red dot on the pad, representing the robot which soon faded upon being destroyed by the keyblade wielder.
"Unit X-13 has just been destroyed sir. And has been unable to discern the source of the strange lightning storm." Lawrence reported to Nefarious as they and the robotic troops walked down a forest trail.
"Let me guess. He was struck by lightning." Nefarious said.
"Actually, no sir. It seems our scout was destroyed after the storm." Lawrence said as Nefarious stopped walking and put a hand on his metallic chin, unaware of a familiar red eyed crow landing on a nearby tree branch.
"Hmmmm...I think someone doesn't want our presence known here. I know it can't be our old friend, the lombax. But I believe someone else is searching for the age of fairy tale's secrets and they better hope they don't cross my-AHH!" Nefarious yelled when a flying object crashed into a group of robots next to him and destroyed them upon impact and caused Nefarious to fall down on his face.
"Oh dear. It seems it's cloudy with a chance of total chaos, sir." Lawrence commented as the smoke cloud cleared away to reveal Gilthunder walking away from the crater of broken robots he created after landing.
"I've lost them. But it will only be a matter of time before I see them again." Gilthunder said to himself and then found himself thinking back to Sora and his orders to bring him to liones. (Why does grandmaster Hendrickson want that boy?)
"Watch where you're going!" Nefarious yelled which caught Gilthunder's attention. "Don't you squishies have any manners anymore?! Those troops took to build or threatened to join me!"
"You're quite the motivator, sir." Lawrence commented while Gilthunder stared at the two robots with no emotion.
"What are you staring at?"
"A sad looking fool covered in metal." Gilthunder answered as he walked away while leaving Nefarious confused at the holy knight's comment.
"Was he talking to you or me?" Nefarious asked as Lawrence rolled his eyes.
(The boar hat)
(Music:Happy hair day)
After the group left the forest of white dreams, they immediately got Hawk's mother ready for travel, along with Diane, who haven't been outside the forest in ten years and was being briefed on the current status by Meliodas as he sat on the giantess's shoulder while walking next to Hawk's mother and keeping up quite easily.
"Apparently, Ban the sin of greed was thrown behind bars. And king, the sin of sloth is already dead and buried by now." Meliodas explained as he showed Diane the wanted posters of Ban and King while Diane was looking at her own wanted poster, which was in her fingers. "Think that's true?"
"Well, I'm not really sure. After all, I'm not interested in any man but you. But still, the important thing is, look at what a sexy babe I am! A Lot can happen in ten years, can it?" Diane gloated about her appearance on her poster, even though it was inaccurate.
"But that's just drawing."
"Hey, Meliodas." Sora spoke up from the back of hawk's mother as he held a poster of Ban. "We know this Ban guy is in prison right now, meaning we gotta bust him out. But what about King?"
"Yeah, if what that guy back there said isn't a stretch. Your other guy is dead. Doesn't that screw up the whole plan?" Ryuko asked as she held up another poster of King.
"Don't worry about it. I promise when I say things will work out." Meliodas assured.
"You think King is actually alive, don't you?" Satsuki asked.
"You never know if he is. Besides, he's one of the sins after all." Meliodas said as he hopped off Diane's shoulder and into Hawk's mother. "Okay, I decided! First up, we should go to baste prison and grab Ban!"
"Alright! Sounds good to me, captain!" Diane cheered while Elizabeth and Hawk walked out of the bar.
"What made you decide on that place first?" Hawk asked.
"It's closer." Meliodas admitted while Elizabeth looked at the untreated wound from his fight with Gilthunder.
"You're such a lazy chump."
"Um, I don't think you should do this!" Elizabeth protested, much to Meliodas' confusion. "For now, I think tending to your injury should be top priority."
"Maybe, Elizabeth is right. You should take it slow before we do a prison break." Sora agreed with the princess.
"At least let Sora use some healing magic on you for now." Satsuki suggested.
"Don't worry." Meliodas said as he placed his head under Elizabeth's skirt. "This could make me better."
"C-could it really?" Elizabeth questioned.
"Of course it can't!" Hawk shouted as Meliodas then patted Elizabeth on the head.
"Don't worry, Elizabeth. Don't worry about me. This is no big deal. A little sleep, and I'm good to go." Meliodas said as he walked into the tavern.
"Knowing him, I thought for sure he'd asked for you to sleep next to him." Hawk commented.
"If he did, I'd put him to sleep myself." Ryuko agreed.
"Hey, Elizabeth. You should make sure he's really alright." Sora said.
"I was thinking the same thing." Elizabeth said as he walked into the bar after Meliodas, leaving Sora's group outside.
"Meliodas had the right idea, a break and some rest sounds good right now." Sora said as he was also about to walk into the bar, but now before Ryuko grabbed his arm.
"Hold up a moment. What happened back in the forest?" Ryuko asked Sora about his stop when they were leaving the forest of white dreams.
"Huh?"
"Don't say it was heartless, Sora. Otherwise they would've attacked the rest of us as well." Satsuki said as Sora sighed.
"Okay, I was gonna tell you later, because you might not believe me. But I saw a robot in the forest." Sora whispered, much to Ryuko and Satsuki's confusion.
"Uh, Sora? You do realize where we are, right? Not even tv exists here." Ryuko said.
No! I'm serious! It had blinking lights, claws for hands, and moved around on a wheel. It even shot up the place because of a squirrel." Sora said.
"Hmm, if that's true, then we're not the only ones not of this world. Someone else seems to be here." Satsuki gathered.
"Hey, Sora. Could it be that witch we ran into back at what was left of my house?" Ryuko asked about the mistress of all evil.
"Maleficent? No way, robots aren't her style. But then again, she still could've been in the forest with someone else." Sora guessed.
"Who was in the forest?" Diane asked, which startled the keyblade wielder after forgetting that the giantess was still present.
"Oh, uh…" Sora stuttered as the scene changed to a chibi version of Sora in front of a roulette wheel.
"It's time to play...Wheel of excuses!" Chibi Sora announced as he spun the roulette wheel, only for it to combust into flames and roll away. "No! Come back!" The chibi keyblade wielder pleaded as he chased after the wheel and the scene changed back to the normal Sora.
"We were just talking about a tree that looked like someone we know, it was kinda funny looking too." Sora lied, which made Diane raise an eyebrow in confusion, but then she sighed.
"Oh man. Ten years in that forest and I can't believe I didn't see any funny trees. Would've saved me a lot of boredom." Diane huffed.
(Upstairs)
After Sora requested Elizabeth to follow after Meliodas to ensure the former captain's wound wasn't too severe, the princess walked up the stairs to the door of Meliodas' room and gave a light knock on the door.
"Sir Meliodas. Patron me, but can you change on your own?" Elizabeth said, expecting an answer but didn't hear any response, better yet she couldn't hear anything from inside the room. Opening the door to the bedroom, Elizabeth looked down to see Meliodas had fallen unconscious on the floor with a trail of blood pouring from his wound, but was still gripping onto the dragon handle.
"Sir...Meliodas?"
(Baste prison)
(Music: Villains of a sort~1.5 ver~)
Outside the village of Baste, the famous holy knight prison that is said to house the fox sin of greed stood menacingly in the outskirts where a young female knight bowed to give her report to her superiors.
"I have news from the palace. There's been a sighting, two sins spotted in the forest of white dreams, along with a wanted person of interest to grandmaster Hendrickson. As such, it is believed they will come here to free their fellow sin." The young knight reported.
"Oh my! The seven deadly sins are finally coming this way, are they?" The holy knight, Friesia said from underneath her spider shaped helmet as she played a game of chess with another holy knight, who wore a helmet with an evil smile carved on it.
"The question is, will they come here or to that nearby town? Either way, we should prepare to welcome them." The holy knight, Golgius suggested as he moved a chess piece and claimed one of Friesia's.
"Oh phooey! You make the ickiest moves, Golgius!" Friesia complained while Golgius smirked underneath his helmet.
"Hehehe. Your move, Friesia." Golgius laughed while the young holy knight woman continued kneeling, wondering if she should speak up.
"Umm.." The young knight said to get her superiors attention.
"There's no need to worry at all, Jericho dear. This prison is an experimental fortress, built for this upcoming battle in mind. It's not a place that can be taken so easily, even for people like the seven deadly sins." Friesia assured the young knight named Jericho, while a third holy knight with a staff with a bell attached to it approached from behind Jericho.
"Indeed. Besides, we, the weird fangs are here." The leader of the small group of holy knights, Ruin claimed.
"Y-yes, yes of course, sir Ruin!" Jericho said.
"But still. I have to wonder if they really will come." Another holy knight named Jude spoke up from another corner of the room.
"Jude. I have a hard time believing our prisoner is worth so much to them that they take a huge risk." Friesia commented. "He hasn't even seen a single moment of sunlight since we captured him five years ago. Nor has he been granted the freedom to move or utter a word. In fact, he's hardly even eaten. He's being tortured slowly until his last breath."
"Their new companion notwithstanding. We outnumber them still." Ruin said.
"It's almost enough to feel pity for the legend who was once called the sin of greed." Golgius said.
"I wouldn't underestimate them still." A voice echoed throughout the room, which caught only Jericho off guard.
(Music stops)
"What the hell was that?!" Jericho questioned as she looked around the room for the source of the voice with her hand on her sword.
"Relax, Jericho. We;ve been expecting someone to join us." Ruin assured the young knight as a corridor of darkness appeared at the other end of the room with a man in a black coat appearing out of the portal.
"Well, better than never that he arrived." Golgious commented as the black hooded figure took off his hood to reveal his silver hair and gold eyes that sent chills down Jericho's back. The young man in the black coat was none other than the younger, time traveling incarnation of Sora's long time nemesis, Xehanort.
(Music: Xehanort-the early years-)
"Fashionably late, are we?" Friesia asked.
"I had to confirm a few things before coming here. The arrival of the seven deadly sins being one of them." Xehanort said.
"So, you will be joining in the upcoming against the sins?" Jude asked.
"No. I came here for two other things. The first is to see your prisoner and confirm the rumors I've heard about him. The other is about the boy your master has asked you to apprehend." Xehanort explained.
"Very well, what is it you want from the boy?" Ruin asked.
"He is traveling with two girls that are sisters. I must ask for you to leave them be, I need them for very important plans."
"Very mysterious with the way you say that. What kind of plans do you mean?" Friesia asked.
"Let's just say it's something that they have prepared their whole lives for it." Xehanort said as he disappeared into a corridor of darkness, leaving the holy knights alone in their meeting room, along with skeptical Jericho.
"Sir Ruin. Are you sure you can trust that man? He rubs me the wrong way." Jericho questioned Xehanort's intentions.
"Grandmaster Hendrickson sent him our way. I have no reason to believe otherwise." Ruin confirmed.
(Dalmally town)
A few miles away from the prison was a small quiet town where travelers often either pick up supplies or to visit the local doctor, making life in the village pretty quiet. Although, today would be very different for the town's folk as a loud rumbling shook the whole town when Diane came around the corner of the buildings.
"Hey! Is there a-?" Diane was trying to ask a question before the village people began running away in fear of the giantess.
"It's a giant!" A civilian yelled out in fear as everyone ran away from Diane.
"No! Wait a minute! I just wanted to find out if you had a doctor somewhere in this town!" Diane shouted for the people to come back, only to fall on deaf ears as she looked down in worry at her hands were the still unconscious Meliodas, clutching on to the dragon handle. "Oh, captain…" She said, as Sora suddenly appeared on a rooftop behind the giantess after searching for her.
"There you are!" Sora said to catch Diane's attention while the others arrived.
"See! What did I tell ya?!" Hawk said after warning Diane of potentially causing a panic, only to be ignored.
"Please! The rest of us are perfectly capable of finding a doctor! Why don't you just-" Elizabeth pleaded only to get an angry look from Diane.
"Look! I'm gonna be the one helping the captain!" Diane shouted.
"B-But.."
"Listen, if you wanna help him, then stop crushing on him for two seconds and think with your head!" Ryuko said which made Diane's glare intensified for a few moments before she decided to calm down.
"Okay, fine. You guys can go look for a doctor." Diane said, giving up her stubborn attitude.
"Right away!" Elizabeth said as she and Hawk ran down the street to find a doctor.
"Stay put, got it?" Hawk advised as he followed Elizabeth while Sora jumped down off the rooftop to join Ryuko and Satsuki.
"Cutting it a little close by making the giant girl mad, Ryuko." Sora said.
"I was just trying to get her to focus." Ryuko responded.
"You actually have a bit in common when it comes to both your tempers." Satsuki joked which annoyed Ryuko.
"Oh shut it!" Ryuko snapped while a small bug flew around Sora's head, making him swat his head to get the bug away.
"Shoo! Get away!" Sora said to the bug as it flew off to the side of a nearby building. But unbeknownst to the keyblade wielder, it wasn't a normal bug at all.
"Hehehe. Found you.." The voice of Friesia spoke through the bug.
(Prison cell)
Deep within Baste prison walls, lied it's single prisoner that it was built for, a man with long pale blue hair and a bread that reached his shoulders, with the most notable feature was the tattoo of a fox on his lower abdomen, along with many metal spikes that pierced his body and kept him chained to the walls, even if he had the strength to break free, the spikes were to ensure he was too injured to resist. As the prisoner sat in silence in his cell since he had a gag over his mouth, a corridor of darkness opened up in the middle of the cell with young Xehanort appearing out of it.
"So, you are the famous prisoner I've heard so much about. Ban, the fox sin of greed." Xehanort revealed the identity of the prisoner, although Ban didn't even so much as react to the time traveler's presence. "I don't understand why you allow yourself to stay when I know you could easily break your bonds. Unless of course you let come here on purpose because you're waiting for your allies." He guessed, but didn't even get an answer from the seemingly unresponing fox sin of greed.
"Hmm, very well. Stay here if you wish to continue this meaningless act." Xehanort said as he turned to leave.
"...Hmmm Hmmm Hmmm...Hmmm Hmmm Hmmm." The sound of muffled humming caught Xehanort's attention as he turned his head to see the sound coming from Ban, which made the seeker of darkness crack a smile.
"This may have been worth the visit after all." Xehanort said before vanishing into a corridor of darkness.
(Doctor Dana's clinic)
After some hard searching, Elizabeth and Hawk finally managed to find a doctor to treat Meliodas' injury. After bringing the former captain to the clinic, Sora and Ryuko took him inside to be treated, while Diane was looking through a window to watch Meliodas be treated with medicine.
"This medical blend is my own special concoction." The doctor said as he poured the medicine into Meliodas' mouth. "I guarantee this will ease his suffering."
"Thank you for seeing him, ." Elizabeth thanked the doctor.
"Based on his injuries, I'd say it's a miracle he's still alive. In addition to his deep sword wound, he has burn wounds as if he'd been struck by lightning." observed as he then turned to Sora. "In fact, you seem to have the same burns as well. How could a couple of kids get those."
"Don't worry about it,doctor. I had worse." Sora assured as he rubbed the back of his head.
"He really has." Ryuko vouched while Satsuki nodded in agreement as they both saw Sora receive worse punishment back in honnouji.
"Well, uh..I guess you don't need treatment right now." said as he left the room, leaving the group alone with Meliodas while Elizabeth took a towel and dipped it in water for the former captain's forehead.
"It's my fault." Elizabeth said with guilt as everyone turned towards the princess at her comment. "I said I wanted to stop the holy knights. That's what led him to look for the seven deadly sins and caused this."
"Hey, don't blame yourself, Elizabeth. Meliodas was looking for them before you even showed up in his tavern. You also asked me to come looking with you, too." Sora reminded her.
"And you could've easily ended up in the situation as sir Meliodas right now! ...all because of me." Elizabeth said as she looked at the floor as she cried a single tear, making Sora sad since her crying made him see Kairi in her place.
"Elizabeth. It's not the first time I've put myself in harm's way because of someone I care about." Sora said as he thought back to when he turned himself into a heartless to free Kairi's heart, or taking a huge risk by using the power of waking to turn back time and saving the guardians of light.
"Sora's right. He cares more about others than himself." Satsuki said.
"It's how we met him. Because he's a knucklehead who can't help but do stupid shit to help people he barely knows." Ryuko said.
"Hey! Who's the knucklehead?!" Sora questioned which made Elizabeth start to smile again.
"Hey! What's with all the shouting in there?" Diane asked from outside the window.
"It's nothing, lady Diane. Sora just helped me see the brighter side of things." Elizabeth said.
"So now that you're all cheered up, Elizabeth. What should we do?" Hawk asked about their next move.
"I was thinking we should wait for sir Meliodas to wake up before we head towards Baste prison."
"Okay, then while you're waiting here, the rest of us will go to the prison." Sora suggested much to Elizabeth's surprise.
"Are you sure about that?" Elizabeth asked.
"With Meliodas in his current condition, you're safer here watching over him then you would be in battle." Satsuki said.
"It's probably the best thing right now." Ryuko agreed with her sister.
"Then I'll head in that discretion too." Diane said from outside as the giantess stood, preparing to leave.
"Hey! Wait up!" Sora said as the group ran outside to join Diane.
"You should let me lead. I don't want the rest of you getting underfoot." Diane said.
"We can take care of ourselves."
"Are you sure about that? All of you have tiny bodies and skinny arms, and why do you even need such spiky hair?" Diane asked as Sora felt the tips of his spikes at the comment.
"It's true we don't have strength like yours, or the advantage of size. But we make up for it in other ways. Meliodas was made your captain for a reason, wasn't he?" Satsuki asked as Diane just looked at the group in silence.
"Listen, I get you really like Meliodas, but wouldn't he want us to work together?" Sora asked.
"...I guess he would." Diane admitted, much to the group's satisfaction.
"Oh good. I'm glad we've come to an agreement." Elizabeth said while a strange smell caught Hawk's attention, which smelled an awful lot like ozone.
"Hey, does anyone else smell rain?" Hawk asked as everyone looked at the sky.
"What are you talking about? There's not a single cloud in the sky." Ryuko stated.
"Well, I'm telling you. I smell-AHHHH!" Hawk screamed when he was suddenly struck by a bolt of lightning and fell to the ground smoking.
"Hawk! Are you alright?" Elizabeth asked with worry as she kneeled down to cheek on the electrocuted pig.
"Why does this keep happening to me?"
"Is Gilthunder back?" Elizabeth asked as she looked in every direction around for the holy knight.
"No. It was those guys." Diane said as many gold beats and bolt towers appeared above the town.
(Music: Dance to the death~2.5~)
"Heartless!" Sora said as he summoned the nano arms keyblade while the town's people ran away in fear of the monsters flying overhead.
"Can't go anywhere with those guys showing up." Ryuko said as she drew her rending scissors while Satsuki drew bakuzan.
"Good, I need a warm up before we go free Ban." Diane said as she cracked her knuckles before grabbing a nearby bolt tower and tossing it at another, causing both to be destroyed together.
"Whoa, glad she's on our side." Sora commented.
"Elizabeth, you should go inside." Satsuki said to the princess, only to receive no answer. "Elizabeth!" She said again as she turned towards her to see, Elizabeth was looking up at something other than the heartless.
"S-something's coming from Baste prison." Elizabeth said as she pointed down the road where a view of the prison could be seen, and a strange cloud was emerging from within the prison.
"Don't tell me, more heartless?" Sora asked as the cloud approached the town.
"No, it sounds different." Diane said as a buzzing sound could be heard from the cloud as it got closer.
"Is that...A whole bunch of bugs?!" Ryuko said as she squinted her eyes to see the cloud was made of millions of different insects.
"Even worse. They all seem poisonous!" Satsuki warned, which seemed to be true as the cloud of bugs began spitting venom from their mouths that melted the surfaces of whatever buildings the venom came into contact with.
"Is this an attack from Baste prison?" Elizabeth asked as she watched the town get broken down by the venom.
"Then those knights are behind this! Diane, can you swat them away?" Sora asked as he looked up at the giantess only to see that Diane had locked up in place.
"AHH! Bugs are the one thing I can't stand!" Diane shouted as the whole group looked at her in disbelief since Diane had a size advantage against the bugs.
"You gotta be shitting me.." Ryuko said as she facepalmed at Diane's phobia.
"I guess it's a good thing I haven't fought any bug shaped heartless yet." Sora commented which made Diane tense up.
"WHAT?!" Diane shouted as she turned to a group of heartless flying nearby and began envisioning them as bugs instead, which caused the giantess's eyes to go blank as she began falling backwards and fell to the ground unconscious with a loud slam.
"Oops.." Sora said as he rubbed the back of his head.
"I don't think she was up for this one." Satsuki said.
"Guess we gotta do this one by ourselves." Sora said as he jumped into the air after a bolt tower and stuck it in the face, which was the main weak point of the heartless, destroying before he aimed his keyblade at the cloud of bugs. "No bug zappers around here, so I'll have to do. Thunder!" He shouted as bolts of lighting descended from the sky towards the cloud of bugs, only for a gold beat and a bolt tower to fly in front of the thundaga spell and absorb the attack. "Oh come on! Really?"
"Just focus on other attacks!" Ryuko said as she fired a firaga spell into the air at a bolt tower and destroyed it on contact.
"Good idea." Sora agreed as he tossed the nano gear into the air as it began flying around him as he transformed into blitz form and caught the transformed keyblade after it turned into nano arms. "Let's round them up!" He exclaimed as he transformed the nano arms into yoyo form to grab a bolt tower and swung it around like in a circle at high speed and slammed into any heartless in the way until he released the bolt tower as it flew into the cloud of bugs, smashing some of the insects.
"Hey! I apperachice it for you to not interrupt my work!" The voice of Friesia spoke from the clouds, surprising Sora.
"What the?! The bugs talk?!"
"Of course not, boy! I'm just a holy knight that's gonna wipe you and the seven deadly sins off the map!" Friesia's voice said as the cloud of bugs rerouted towards Sora.
"Bring it on, bug lady!" Sora shouted as he converted the nano arms into it's hammer form and smashed the ground that made debris erupt out the ground for Sora to punt it towards the cloud of bugs, smashing more insects and making them counter by spitting acid at him. "Defend!" He called out as a reflega barrier surrounded him that sent the acid in every direction towards heartless and melted them upon contact.
"Sora! I think we should take them out in groups!" Satsuki advised as Sora joined her side.
Got it!" Sora said as they both pointed their weapons at the cloud of insects.
"Force!" Sora and Satsuki shouted at the same time as a pair of purple spheres appeared in the air that crushed a group of heartless with gravity magic, only for the heartless to be replaced by more.
"This isn't going well." Sora said.
"The bugs are the biggest problem. I say blow them to hell first!" Ryuko exclaimed as she shot a firaga spell at the cloud of bugs and blew a hole in the cloud, only for the cloud to reform easily. "Son of a bitch."
"I got something to clear them up!" Sora claimed as he jumped into the air and used the nano arms flag form to cut through the bug cloud to get into the center and then opened up a portal before jumping into it and opened more portals to unleash a barrage of cubic streams in every directions that smashed any bugs or heartless they struck until the attack stop and Sora jumped out of a portal and returning to normal form.
"That should've done some damage!" Sora exclaimed as he looked up at the many holes in the cloud of bugs, only for the holes to be filled with more insects. "Oh come on…"
"Maybe we need Diane's help after all." Satsuki said as she gestured to the knocked out giantess.
"No way! We can do this without the help." Ryuko argued until an acid projectile narrowly missed her and quickly changed her mind. "Okay, wake her up." She said as Sora ran up to the unconscious Diane.
"Diane! Wake up! We need your help!" Sora yelled into the giantess's ear, hoping to get a response.
"Uh...No..why would I wrap ham in bacon? It's both pork…" Diane mumbled in her sleep.
"*Sigh* You leave me any choice." Sora said as he took a quick look around to make sure Elizabeth or any town's people were watching as he took the gummiphone out of his pocket and pressed a button to find a certain recording as his and Ryuko's friend, Mako Mankanshoku appeared on the screen.
"HI! This is Mako! And welcome to all the repressed screaming I've kept in after being in danger all day. AHHHHHHHHHHH!" The recording of Mako screamed very loudly, which was enough to jolt Diane awake.
"AH! I'm awake!" Diane shouted as she shot off the ground and then looked up to see the cloud of insects, making her phobia take over again. "AHH! BUGS!"
"Diane, no! Don't freak out again! The town's getting melted by those things." Sora said.
"Where's Meliodas and the princess?"
"Elizabeth along with Hawk are hiding under that bridge over there." Sora said as he pointed over to a bridge where Elizabeth and Hawk causally waved. "And Meliodas is….still inside the building." He said with realization as he looked at the doctor's office building, which was slowly being melted by the cloud of bugs venom.
"Oh no, Sir Meliodas!" Elizabeth gasped as she ran out from her cover.
"Elizabeth! Wait!" Hawk shouted as the princess ran towards the doctor's clinic when the swarm noticed Elizabeth and began flying towards her, which Diane noticed.
"I might hate bugs, but if it means helping the captain, I won't let anything get my way!" Diane shouted as she raised her arms and suddenly gigantic rock pillars rose from the ground to smash any heartless they hit, and squished any bugs from the swarm all at once, leaving tw whole town surrounded by the pillars with the bugs smashed on top, much to the group's amazement.
(Music stops)
"Whoa..She got the heartless and the bugs all at once." Sora said while one more remaining insect flew by Ryuko's head.
"You brats! I'll remember that!" Friesia's voice vowed while Ryuko simply smashed the last bug between her hands.
"Find a new hobby lady." Ryuko said while Diane smashed her fists together in determination.
"Now bring it on! I'll squish any more of those things!" Diane said before making a powerful jump out of the village with Baste prison in sight. "I'm counting on the rest of you to look after the captain!" She said as the giantess made a dash for the prison, leaving the rest of the group behind in town.
"Stay safe!" Sora shouted to Diane before turning to the others. "Guess we better find out if Meliodas is awake yet."
"I'm wondering the same myself." Elizabeth agreed as she and Hawk left for the doctor's office, leaving Sora with Ryuko and Satsuki.
"Sora, why do you have a recording of Mako screaming?" Satsuki asked about the recording on the gummiphone to wake Diane up.
"I'm not sure. It was just on there." Sora answered.
"Mako always finds a way, even when we're in another world." Ryuko said as the group went to follow the princess inside.
(Meanwhile in Honnouji)
While Sora and the others were in Britannia, Sora's former nobody, Roxas was helping the citizens of the world rebuild Honno city and staying at the Mankanshoku's house and was currently hammering nails into the fence surrounding the house while Mako was sitting upside down against the fence, along with her dog, Guts.
"I wonder if the recording of me screaming helped Sora in any way." Mako commented, much to Roxas' and Guts' confusion.
"Say wha'?" Roxas questioned
(Doctor Dana's clinic)
After Diane left for Baste prison, the rest of the group stayed behind to keep a close eye on Meliodas, who was unfortunately still unconscious, despite the earlier attack.
"Can you believe this guy is still out cold even after all that racket outside?" Hawk noted.
"Hawk's right. You'd think Meliodas would be at least starting to wake up." Sora agreed.
"By the way, Sora. How come the three of you didn't go with lady Diane to Baste prison?" Elizabeth asked.
"Well, with the heartless here and Meliodas still hurt, we gotta keep a close eye on him just in case. I think someone as strong as Diane can handle herself for now."
"More like she could take on that whole prison. If those knights have to use bugs to fight us, they must be pretty chicken." Ryuko said, just as the door to the room was knocked on from outside and walked in.
"Just checking in on how our patient is doing." said.
"Better thanks to you. That medicine of yours seems to have him sleeping well." Elizabeth thanked as she looked at the unmoving Meliodas.
"Yeah, it's almost like he's dead or something." Hawk said which made Elizabeth worry and Satsuki suspicious.
"Hawk, please! Don't say things like that!" Elizabeth while Satsuki walked over to Meliodas' bed and took a closer look.
"In fact, it's quite accurate." said, which made everyone else in the room tense up.
(Music:Disquieting)
"What's...that supposed to mean?" Sora asked.
"Doctor, you've done well. It appears you were successful in your task." A disembodied voice echoed throughout the room, startling everyone except .
"The hell was that?!" Ryuko said as she drew her scissor blade and Sora summoned his keyblade.
"Something is wrong. I can't feel Meliodas' pulse." Satsuki announced much to the other's shock as she then turned to . "What did you do to him?"
"Belladonna, Spanish fly, nightshade, and henbane. All were Ingredients I used to create the poison. My condolences, but this boy will never wake up again." answered.
"What?!" Sora said as he turned to Meliodas and pulled out a panacea.
"That remedy you have won't work. Neither any magic you might have. It's too late to counteract the poison." said which made Sora stop in his tracks.
"Even with our great power, we knew it would be impossible and emerge unscathed." The echoing voice explained as Sora and the other's looked around for where I could be coming from. Besides, the kingdom made it clear to do any means necessary."
"Who are you?!" Elizabeth shouted to the voice.
"Show yourself!" Sora demanded as a blur appeared in the middle of the room and formed into the holy knight, Golguis.
"It's a pleasure to meet you all. I am the holy knight Golgius, member of the weird fangs." Golgius introduced himself.
"A holy knight." Elizabeth said.
"How did he get in here so fast?" Ryuko asked as Golgius bowed at Elizabeth.
"Princess Elizabeth. I have come to take you back to the kingdom of Liones." Golgius said before turning his focus to Sora. "And you, boy. You have been summoned as well."
"Oh yeah? Give us a good reason why we should?" Sora asked as he, Ryuko and Satsuki got into their battle stance while Golgius narrowed his eyes underneath his helmet.
"How's this for a reason? Do you really want to risk the lives of the princess's family for your act of defiance?" Golgius threatened, which made Sora's group hesitate while Hawk got in front of the holy knight.
"I got this one! Leave this to the captain of the order of scrap dispos-'' Hawk bloated until Golgius kicked the talking pig, causing him to fly around the room like a pinball. "WAHHHH! He screamed as he flew out the window.
"Hawk! No!" Elizabeth shouted in worry.
"Now then!" Golgius said as he walked over to Meliodas' and threw the sheet covering the former captain as the holy knight's eyes fell upon the dragon handle. "Seems it's become rather pointless to keep this sword any longer. So I will take it with me." He said as he tried to take the broken sword out of Meliodas' hand, only to find it rather difficult to make him let go.
"Having trouble?" Sora taunted, much to Golguis' annoyance.
"QUIET!" The holy knight shouted before he was finally able to break Meliodas' grip on the dragon handle. "Yes! It's mine now! You have no use for it!" He gloated in victory, until Meliodas suddenly shot out from the bed and grabbed the dragon handle again, much to everyone's surprise.
(Music ends)
"I-Impossible! No one could survive after that much poison!" said with complete shock.
"Too stubborn to die I see. But you will release this sword!" Golguis demanded while Meliodas didn't look at him as Sora felt a familiar power in the room.
(Is that..darkness I feel?) Sora thought to himself as he realized the dark power seemed to be coming from the now awakened Meliodas.
"Even if I die, this sword is the one thing I'll never let go of. It's the only way I can ever atone." Meliodas said as a dark wind became more visible around him.
"Spout all the nonsense you wish! The princess and your weapon will still be mine!" Golgius claimed with confidence, which soon faded when Meliodas looked at him with blank eyes, and a strange symbol on his forehead which the sight of made the holy knight panic. "Ahh!" He shouted in terror as he let go of the dragon handle and jumped out of the window and into the streets below, leaving the group behind as he ran away in terror as Hawk walked back into the room dazed from being kicked.
"Yeah...you better...run away.." Hawk said before he passed out on the floor.
"What was that about?" Ryuko questioned Golguis' retreat as Sora's half of the group let down their guard.
"I think there's a side of Meliodas we've yet to see." Satsuki said while Elizabeth was approaching Meliodas from behind.
"I'm sorry, but, is that really you standing there? Sir Meliodas?" Elizabeth asked while Meliodas was standing perfectly still, and then turned around with his usual smile on his face.
"It's me! Hey, Elizabeth! Hey, porky! Sora, Ryuko, Satsuki!" Meliodas greeted like if he just woke up from a nap.
"Oh, thank goodness! You're back to your old self again!" Elizabeth said happily.
"But he called me porky.." Hawk complained while Meliodas observed his surroundings and found them unfamiliar.
"Hey, where are we right now?" Meliodas asked.
"The town of Dalmally, just right by Baste prison." Elizabeth explained.
"We had to make this pit stop because your dumbass refused to get treatment after getting cut open." Ryuko stated.
"Oops, guess it was serious after all." Meliodas apologized as everyone sweatdropped at him. "Anyway, who was the guy that ran off?"
"A holy knight that said his name was Golgius. And by the looks of things, it was pretty clear he was after Elizabeth and that broken sword of yours and including Sora for some reason. That quack over there was working with him too." Hawk explained Golgius and 's attempt to kill Meliodas as everyone turned to see that the doctor was gone.
"Hey, where did the doctor go?" Sora asked.
"ACK! He hightailed it out of here! Come on!" Hawk said as he made a run for the door, only to be stopped when Elizabeth grabbed him by the ear.
"Wait! Sir Meliodas' injuries haven't fully healed yet!" Elizabeth said as Meliodas finally noticed that he was wrapped in medical bandages which he began to unwrap. Once the former captain took the bandages off, it was apparent that the sword wound from Gilthunder had already healed.
"Looks okay now." Meliodas noted much to everyone's surprise.
"It can't be! No way!" Elizabeth said in disbelief as she looked over Meliodas' shoulder to see if it truly healed.
"Sora? Did you do something?" Satsuki asked.
"How could I? Besides, my healing magic isn't that strong." Sora said, although the only kind of magic that could heal something as severe as a sword wound was Rapunzel's magic hair, who wasn't even in the same world right now, or even had that power anymore.
What's with you right now, Elizabeth? You're awfully aggressive today." Meliodas said while Elizabeth continued to look over his body and then backed flustered.
"I'm sorry! That wasn't my intention!" Elizabeth apologized.
"It's not like I mind you feeling me up. Touch me all you want!" Meliodas insisted.
"Oh, don't go there you pervert and put a shirt on!" Ryuko said.
(Meanwhile, down the streets)
"I narrowly escaped there. So that was Meliodas, the dragon sin. I chose to make my exit at precisely the right time there. Hmm...Fascinating." Golgius said to himself as he walked past the rock pillars Diane created and made his way down the path that would lead back to baste prison.
"Hey there!" A familiar voice caught Golgius' attention as he looked behind himself to see Sora with his keyblade slung over his shoulder with Ryuko and Satsuki next to him. "Good thing you're not hard to spot!"
"Ah, have you come to surrender yourself, boy after you realized you have no chance against the holy knights?" Golgius questioned.
"Actually, we were gonna ask you to do that." A second familiar voice said as Golgius turned to see Meliodas, Elizabeth and Hawk on the street next to him.
"Impossible! How did you find me?"
"My nose can sniff out slop from a mile away! So you better not underestimate me!" Hawk boasted.
"I'm gonna have you give the name of the person that gave you the order to swipe my sword and the princess." Meliodas requested.
"And I wanna know why you guys are after me!" Sora said as he got into his battle stance which made Golgius put his hands up.
"As you wish! I surrender!" Golgius said, much to the group's surprise. "To be honest, i'm a coward by nature. Combat isn't to my when I'm outnumbered."
"Good choice. You managed to avoid getting dents in your helmet." Ryuko said as Meliodas' and Satsuki's instincts flared up.
"Look out!" Satsuki warned as she used bakuzan to deflect a pair of throwing stars while Meliodas did the same.
"I released those blades when I raised my hands. You were able to see me do it?" Golgius asked.
"I've seen much faster attacks than yours!" Satsuki said.
"And don't underestimate eyes that could catch a pair of panties from a mile away." Meliodas said.
"Pervert." Ryuko commented just Dr. Dana appeared down the street behind Meliodas and Elizabeth.
"There you are, sir Golgius! I've been looking for you!" said.
"Hey! It's that quack!" Hawk said.
"Now I know that I wasn't able to end the boy's life, but I still poisoned him like I was told! A deal a deal! Please return my daughter as promised!" begged.
"Daughter?" Sora questioned.
"Don't tell me these bucket heads are kidnapping people now!" Ryuko said as Golgius suddenly vanished in a blur. "The hell? He's gone!"
"Keep an eye out!" Satsuki advised.
"You need to stay close to me, Elizabeth." Meliodas said as he held the dragon handle defensively in front of the princess.
"Come to think of it, the way the guy showed up in your room came out of nowhere too." Hawk spoke of the earlier moment when Golgius first appeared.
"No need to shout. I'll shall reunite you with your daughter." Golgius' voice echoed.
"Th-thank you, sir! She means everything to me!" said as Meliodas realized who the holy knight's target was.
"Doctor! Get away from there!" Meliodas warned.
"I shall send her to join you in the afterlife!" Golgius said as he reappeared and stabbed from behind with his sword.
"Doctor!" Sora shouted as fell down to the ground.
"We can't have you dirtying the holy knight's good name by revealing we ordered you poison the boy now can we? Hehehe." Golgius laughed.
"You're about to have a bigger problem, you literal backstabbing bastard!" Ryuko yelled as she and Sora rushed forward and swung their weapons at Golgius, only for the holy knight to vanish in a blur again. "Goddamn snake!"
"We'll find him and get payback soon, Ryuko." Sora vowed while Elizabeth rushed over to the fallen .
" ! Hold on!" Elizabeth pleded as she held the doctor's head.
"It isn't safe here! Because we don't know when that guy is gonna show up next!" Meliodas warned the princess.
"But I can't just stand here and watch this man die!" Elizabeth said as Golgius reappeared with his sword ready to strike Elizabeth.
(Music: The 13th struggle~Vs data Luxord~)
"I have you!" Golgius shouted as he swung his blade, only to be blocked by Sora's keyblade.
"Get lost!" Sora said as he attacked with counter slash to knock back the holy knight, who disappeared again.
"Ah! He vanished again! Is this guy teleporting or what?!" Hawk questioned as he ran around in a blind panic, hoping he wasn't Golgius' next target.
"Hehehe. Indeed, what a clever pig you are! Despite your strength, it is no match for my power of teleportation!" Golgius' voice echoed before Meliodas sensed danger and blocked the holy knight's next attack with the dragon handle before Golgius vanished again.
"No way he can be that good though." Sora said since he fought people with the ability to teleport before. Something about Golgius' power seemed off to him. But before the keyblade wielder could figure it out, the holy knight reappeared behind him, ready to strike.
"Sora, look out!" Ryuko warned before she was able to intercept Golgius' slash and forced him to vanish again.
"So you doubt my power, do you?" Golgius' voice echoed.
"Let's get out of here!" Meliodas said as he grabbed Elizabeth's hand and pulled away from with Sora and the other's following behind.
"So what do we do now?" Sora asked before Golgius reappeared and attacked him, only for the keyblade to counter and forced the holy knight to disappear again. "Never mind, I get the idea!"
Damn it! He's definitely leaving behind a metallic scent trail, but I don't have enough time to track it while he's attacking us at the same time!" Hawk said while Sora and the others were fending off the holy knight, and the pig's comment turned the gears in Meliodas' head.
"A metallic scent trail?" Meliodas questioned before he blocked an attack from Golgius and then countered by kicking him away.
"Satsuki! Let's put him on ice!" Sora said as he and Satsuki pointed their weapons at the ground and casted blizzaga at the same time to cover the road in ice that went underneath Golgius' feet.
"What?! Ah-ah!" Golgius yelled as he slipped and fell on the ice. Once the holy knight was able to keep himself steady by planting his sword in the ground, he looked up to see Sora and the others had vanished from sight. "Damn you...No matter where you hide, I will always find you!"
(Abandoned house)
"In here!" Meliodas said as everyone followed him into an old house and went up to the second floor to gain a view of the streets should they spot Golgius.
"This is actually an excellent outlook point should that knight find us." Satsuki said while Meliodas was feeling the floorboards that creaked underneath his feet.
"In an old run down building? Oh yeah, good hiding spot." Ryuko said sarasiclly.
"Why don't stay here a bit and wait him out." Meliodas advised.
"Won't we be sitting ducks if he figures out where we are?" Sora asked.
"No, I think Meliodas makes a good point." Satsuki agreed with the former captain.
"I do, don't I?" Meliodas said as he made a few quick swings with the dragon handle at the door to the room.
"What are you doing there?" Hawk asked.
"A little spell to keep him from coming inside."
"Will it even work if he can teleport? How do you even know if he'll show up on that exact spot?" Ryuko questioned.
"Well, just in case, I'll stand right here with Meliodas if that guy shows up." Sora said as he stood right next to the former captain, only for Golglius to suddenly appear behind the keyblade wielder.
"Thanks for making yourself an easy target, boy!" Golgius said as he raised his sword while Meliodas simply smiled.
"And thank you for being so gullible." Meliodas said.
"What? AHHHHHHHH!" Golgius yelled as the floor broke underneath him and fell all the way to the bottom of the old house.
Holy crap! That trap actually worked?!" Ryuko said as she looked down the hole that Meliodas made.
"Of course it did. I knew it was gonna." Meliodas said, much to most of the group's confusion.
"Uh...Mind filling us in?" Sora asked as he scratched the top of his head in confusion.
"That knight wasn't teleporting, he was invisible." Satsuki answered.
"How did you figure that out?"
"The fact he was able to talk didn't make sense, he shouldn't be able to if he was to move from one place another."
"The other clue was that Hawk was able to still smell him after he vanished. It had to mean he was on foot when he was chasing us." Meliodas continued the explanation.
"You stubborn buffoons!" Golgius shouted from the bottom of the hole as everyone looked down to see the holy knight get up from the pile of wood that fell on him. "When I get back up there, you won't be able to see your deaths!"
"Yeah, yeah. Chill out, would ya?" Sora said as he and Satsuki pointed their weapons down the hole ready to cast blizzaga again, which made Golgius panic.
"Wait! Hold on! I was just kidding when I-" Golgius tried pleading before he was frozen head to toe in ice.
"Doesn't look like he'll be going anywhere for awhile." Sora said as he dismissed his keyblade.
"Good, then we can finally head towards Baste prison." Meliodas said when Elizabeth suddenly ran out of the old house. "Huh? Hey, Elizabeth! Wait up!" He said as he ran after the princess.
"Where's she going right now?" Hawk asked.
"I think I know where." Ryuko said as the rest of the group followed Meliodas and Elizabeth through the town towards exactly where they thought the princess would go, towards the still bleeding , lying on the road.
"Doctor! ! Please hold on! Why did this happen?" Elizabeth said as she held while crying.
(Music: Scent of silence)
"Why...why are you crying?" asked weakly. "I'm..truly sorry. I only did this because I wanted to save my daughter...Dear Sennett...I just...wanted to...keep you safe…" The doctor said before closing his eyes, while Elizabeth continued to cry.
"He wasn't a bad guy, he was just caught in a bad place." Sora said, feeling sad for the doctor.
"These knights are real scumbags! That bastard killed him to shut up about what everyone already knows about 'em!" Ryuko hissed in anger while Elizabeth continued to cry.
"This is all my fault.*Sniff*" Elizabeth cried.
"What are you talking about? It was Golgius who killed him." Meliodas reminded the princess.
"If we hadn't come to this town in the first place, wouldn't be lying here dead, and his daughter wouldn't have been taken by the holy knights…"
"Yeah, but Elizabeth.." Hawk tried to interject.
"Not to mention, it's my search for the seven deadly sins that brought me to sir Meliodas, if it not for that, you would've never fought Githunder and got seriously injured and then you'd've never been in a position to nearly be killed by Golgius." Elizabeth cried as Meliodas walked up to her.
"I know you wanna cry right now, I get that. It's just..I get how much you want to protect the people of this kingdom from the holy knights. Is a tear or two gonna make you give up on that?" Meliodas asked as the princess looked up at him, with tears still in her eyes. "Me and Sora already made up our minds to search for the seven deadly sins with you and to stop the holy knights. Even if you die somewhere along the way, I'll be sure to keep the promise I made to you."
"Count me in too. Ryuko, and Satsuki too! Better yet, you won't die. We'll make sure you see the end of this." Sora vowed.
"You would do that for me?" Elizabeth asked as Meliodas thought back to a painful memory of his, embracing someone dear to him one last time in the rain.
"We all die someday. But...as long as someone keeps a person's wishes alive, they won't die. Once you've decided to follow them, no matter how much you bleed, even if your tears run dry, you stick to it! That's what a knight stands for." Meliodas said as he walked down the other end of the street.
"Damn, where did that pervert that annoying me go?" Ryuko questioned as she watched Meliodas walk by.
"I think we just saw how Meliodas is deep down. He smiles all the time, but I think it hides what's within his heart." Satsuki said.
"He must've been in alot of pain if he's trying to hide how he really feels." Sora agreed since there are times where he feels the same.
(Near Baste prison)
After leaving Golgius behind in a block of ice, it would seem he would be stuck in place until he would be found, or thawed out. Luckily for the holy knight, his allies were already keeping an eye on him with one of Friesia's bugs and went to retrieve Golgius and freed him from his frozen prison.
"That was a complete disaster! I still have ice in my armour!" Golgius complained as he shivered with chill with him, Ruin and Friesia standing on a cliff just outside of the town.
"Your lucky Friesia decided to keep surveillance on you should the mission go awry. Otherwise you'd still be frozen." Ruin said.
"Oh well, I think I'll sit the rest of this out to avoid catching a cold or worse. So, does your arrival mean the welcome committee is all set?" Golgius asked as Ruin smiled underneath his helmet.
"Hmhaha. Indeed. The seven deadly will feel the full wrath of the weird fangs!" Ruin laughed
Journal update
Friesia: A holy knight and member of the weird fangs. Friesia is quite destructive when it comes to dealing with the enemy and is willing to destroy anything in her way.
Golgius: A holy knight and member of the weird fangs. Mischievous and calculating, Golgius prefers using tricks instead of fighting face to face since he claims he is a coward by nature, which is also one of his many tricks.
Author's note: Sorry this took longer than expected, I tried to put together all the baste prison episodes in one go.
