The next morning Angela woke up early again to do some fishing, only to be accompanied by Tights this time.

"Whoa, Omori wasn't lying about how much you can eat."

Angela just shrugged as she finished eating. Having one big meal and three normal meals with everyone else was enough for now, and there was no way she was going to let herself get self conscious about it.

"Are you ready to go?" Omori asked as she showed up, Jaco right behind him.

"Got my bag," Tights said as she showed it off, "They wanted me to come two days before the launch, so I'm already super late."

"Huh? Why didn't you leave yesterday?"

"Didn't feel like it. What was happening here was way more interesting," Tights said with a smile.

It wasn't like Angela could argue with that since Tights has already been paid for this incredibly sketchy job. Not like they can fire her either. With a brief goodbye to Omori and Jaco, with the latter giving Angela another reminder that she was on 'probation', Angela grabbed Tights and flew off in the direction of Kiwi Island.

Even without Angela going at her top speed, they arrived in only a few minutes, with the sun barely up.

"Wow, that was really fast! I thought my hat was going to fly off for a moment there."

"Sorry, I've never flown for such a long distance holding someone."

"Don't worry about it Argula, it was fun!" Tights said, fixing her clothes a little before heading off to the launch sight.

"Wish me luck!"

Angela gave her a wave, before looking for a good place to watch the launch. There were a few security guards on sight, but it seemed like the Island was a private one, and didn't have a whole lot of people outside of the main dock where everyone was watching the launch from a safe distance. Too far for Angela's liking, even if she had a ticket. Which she didn't.

Instead, Angela found a tree to wait in that was close enough to the launch site she could watch it with no one knowing it. What passed was one the longest two hour wait she had to deal with. It was almost like being back in high school. At least in College, she took classes she was actually interested in (for the most part). High school was just a lot of busy work that didn't seem to matter in the long run.

Angela sat up straight when music started filling the Island, some pop-song that took Angela a moment to recognize was talking about the rocket.

I guess it would make sense for an Idol who's going to space to write a song with that theme. Angela thought as she turned her attention back to the rocket. There were no people around besides a small group of about five walking from the bridge to the Rocket. The only one wearing the helmet suddenly stopped and waved at the newscasters at the dock, and Angela figured that was Tights who was pretending to be the Idol.

Angela climbed to the top of the tree so that when the rocket took off, there was nothing blocking her sight. It looked like it was going just like the few rocket lunches she remembered watching before. One of the boosters detached, and instead of going faster to break Earth's gravitational pull, the rocket started wobbling before tilting into a nose dive.

Shit. Omori was right.

Angela flew straight up at her top speed, almost blowing the tree she was hanging in away. She only slowed down when it became clear that the Rocket would soon pass her, and tried to match its velocity. It didn't take long before she was falling at the same rate as the rocket, and with the weakest ki blast ever, she blasted the door open before diving in.

"Argula!" Tights explained, not looking scared at all.

"Okay, seat belts off. I'm getting you out of here," Angela said as she got in, doing a quick check before confirming that Tights and one other guy were the only people in the rocket.

It's going to be a challenge flying with two adults sized people, but it's not like I have much of a choice.

A moment passed between the two undoing their seatbelts and Angela grabbing them. Her arms were too short to really grab them by anything but their arms, but having a dislocated shoulder was better than dying. Then she readied herself to fly out the opening she made, only to pause at what she saw outside.

"Is that Jaco's ship?!" Tight's asked for her.

"Everyone jump in!" Jaco yelled as the top popped open.

How did they get here? There was no sign of their ship when I blasted into the rocket, and I haven't been in long enough for them to show up.

Despite her confusion, Angela didn't waste time in flying the two over. It wasn't very grateful, and the captain of the rocket (Angela assumed) ended up knocking Omori to the ground.

"Sorry," Angela muttered, though there wasn't much she could do to help Omori up since they were still flying vertically.

"The Rocket is still filled with fuel!" Omori yelled over the wind from the still open top, and it took Angela a moment to understand what he was getting at.

"Shit. If that hits the ground, it's going to explode."

"And we are right over a city!" Omori continued, but Angela was already flying back to the rocket.

The rocket was too close to the others for Angela to just blast it, so she had to fly below the rocket in order to kick it out of the way of the city and Jaco's ship before blasting it. There was also a moment where Angela remembered she had short baby legs, and had to wait for the rocket to almost hit her before it was in range for a kick, but once she did kick it, it when flying back up. Much higher than she needed it to be, but it made it safer for the other once she sent the most powerful Eraser Cannon since arriving on Earth.

The rocket exploded, and from what Angela could tell, no debris survived her attack.

Looking back, Angela saw that Jaco got the ship landed below, and by the time she landed next to them, Tights, the captain, and Jaco was already climbing out.

"Wow! Argula, that was amazing! You just saved thousands of people!" Tights said as she picked Angela up into a hug.

"Uh, it wasn't that big of a deal," Angela said awkwardly while waiting for Tights to let her go.

Her tail was caught between them and it was really uncomfortable.

"You did very well Saiyan. It seems that my work in rehabilitating you has paid off!" Jaco announced, looking very pleased with himself and Tights put Angela down.

"…yeah. Thanks," Angela said in the most deadpan voice she could muster, and Tights had to hide her laugh.

The captain also thanked Angela, and Jaco when he mentioned it was his ship they used, but all too late, Angeal noticed they were drawing a crowd.

"…Hey, isn't that the Mask Man from TV?"

"Maybe we should-"

"NO! That is NOT my name!" Jaco yelled, pointing at the poor people who said that before continuing, "I am…the Mysterious Hero…Super Elite!"

And he's doing the poise again. At least the end bit is alright.

"We should really get going," Omori reminded them, and Tight climbed back in.

Angela joined them even though she could have easily flew back, but it was a pretty cool spaceship.

"Jaco, are you coming?"

"I'll just stand on top. Omori, you can drive."

and now he's posing as we fly away. Great.

It only took a few minutes to fly back, only once they got close, it was clear they had visitors.

"Oh, the government agents are still there…" Omori commented, like that was just a minor inconvenience.

"Wait, government agents?" Tights and Angela asked at the same time.

Omori then did a very quick rundown of what happened when they left that morning. Mainly that time was up, and they were planning on using Jaco to kick him off early.

"What are you going to do?" Angela asked, worried that the old man was going to get arrested for just people some people out.

And squatting on a government owned island, but it's not like anyone else was using it.

"Just wait and see if I can talk my way out of it."

Tights was being weirdly silent, but Angela figured that the near death experience was finally starting to sink in.

"Welcome Back," Said a guy with a suit, surrounded by what looked like ninja cosplayers, "We'd like to apologize to you for the rudeness we showed you earlier!"

Angela watched as the government agents thanked them (Omori and Jaco) for saving everyone, and then got that whole Idol body double story explained as to why Tights was with them.

"What about him?" Omori asked as they turned to leave, gesturing at Jaco, even though they were almost home free.

"Don't worry, I won't tell anybody that Mr. Super Elite is a robot."

"Huh?" Everyone questioned before it suddenly hit.

Tights and Omori covered Jaco's mouth before he could complain.

"That's right!"

"Wow, you're so perceptive!"

Not like there aren't robots as strong as Jaco in Dragon ball. Honestly, the guy probably guessed that for a good reason.

"…By the way," the government suit guy continued, none the wiser about how wrong he was about Jaco, "I'd like you to stay on this Island. It's bad enough that those fools in the government tried to place a pop Idol, let alone her double, on that rocket. There's no need to let them use this lovely Island as well."

He gave a pleasant smile before promising Omori, "I'll come up with some random excuse for them."

"T-Thank you! Thank you so much!" Omori was crying in relief, and it was good to see that the old man would be able to keep his home.

The guy left after asking if he could ever visit for a vacation (Omori agreed), and Jaco demanded a new sketch.

"I'm glad everything worked out," Angela commented as she headed back to the house, with Jaco muttering how anyone could think he was a robot under his breath.

"Almost everything. We should have asked if he could help with the Sky Gold," Tight signed, but it seemed like she was the only one bummed about the missed opportunity.

"He already did enough letting me stay here and ignoring Jaco. Not to mention Argula. I'll just have to work hard to earn that money."

Dinner was a quiet affair eating the curry that Omori made until Angela asked how they showed up at the rocket without her noticing.

"I have a failed time machine in the ruins of the lab, but it can freeze time for everyone but the people inside for about a minute."

"WHAT?!" Tights and Angela explained.

I didn't think anyone besides Bulma would have figured out time travel. Then again, in real life, most scientific breakthroughs are built off the backs of failed theories and experiments.

"Time travel is a serious crime, but since Omori didn't go into the past, I will let it slide," Jaco announced.

Angela wanted to question how you would even know, but Tights started talking about how she didn't even get to see Earth from space.

"It does look very pretty. I was able to see half the planet before landing," Angela explained, even though it only made Tights more upset at the missed opportunity.

"I could take you after dinner."

Tights looked excited for a moment before sighing again, "That's okay. You're already short on Sky Gold, so it'd be a waste to use up your fuel like that."

"Nonsense. We only need to travel a short distance to look at the earth from outer space. That's less fuel than the drool of a flea."

What a weird expression.

Somehow, the plan involved all of them going into space, and Jaco mentioning an 'extinction capsule', but before Angela could ask what he meant by that, the news got his attention. He got the name change, but when the new sketch was revealed, it was only a little different from before. Less off putting, but more oval than round.

"It's barely changed…"

"What's an extinction capsule?!"

"It doesn't even work on Saiyans, so I don't understand why you're worried. This is a much bigger issue!" Jaco demanded.

"Welp, I'm done eating, let's go to space!" Tights said, and more or less bullied Jaco out of the house to take them.

Even if it wasn't her Earth, it did make for a really nice end to the hectic day.

The next morning, Tights and Omori joined her fishing, though the former just ended up swimming once it got warm enough.

"Omori, do you have a job?" Angela asked after eating, remember that he mentioned working for the cash last night.

"I'm retired. Not like there are a lot of places hiring a theoretical physics outside of the government."

"Oh Gramps, maybe you could make a device based off of the gravity control mechanism on Jaco's ship!" Tights came up with as she swam back to the docks with them.

"You've got to be kidding me. Gravity control is miles away from my field of expertise."

"And your expertise is…what? Time travel? Isn't there a thing where gravity can cause a time delay, like with black holes?" Angela asked since she remembers seeing that be the plot point of a few sci-fi movies.

"It's related, but gravity isn't enough to go to the past, so I never studied it past my university classes. Not nearly enough to make a gravity device. Not to mention I would give myself away if I sold something like that without the years of research to prove I came up with it. Sooner or later people would come to the conclusion it's extraterrestrial technology. And besides, I don't have the facilities to build it. Even if I wanted to sell the blueprints, I don't know of any trustworthy company to sell it to," Omori ranted.

All very good points, but if they don't get the cash, Jaco will be stuck and I'll have to sneak away to look for the dragon balls.

"A trustworthy company…" Tights thought out loud, and Angela was a little surprised she didn't come up with any ideas.

"You've heard of Capsule corporation before, haven't you?" Tights finally said after Omori tried convincing her to drop it.

"Oh, that's not a bad idea, but I doubt a corporation like that will just take random blueprints from Omori," Angela said since of course capsule corp would be the best option here.

"I can get Dr. Briefs to meet with us. He's absolutely a trustworthy guy," Tights said, sounding a little too confident about that.

"How?" Angela simply asked, already not liking the answer.

"Dr. Briefs… is my father."

Angela felt like screaming. Of course she's a Brief. Her name is Tights! Totally fit that whole underwear naming convention. But I didn't know Bulma had any siblings…

"I'll go call him now," Tights said once everyone was done freaking out, not letting anyone stop her from using the phone.

It was a short conversation, before Tights announced they would be here in the early evening.

"They?" Omori asked and Tight nodded as she walked back to them.

"My mom and little sister are coming. They haven't seen me in a while and probably wanted to see the aliens too."

"You told them about me too?" Angela confirmed, not really sure what to think.

I need to get the dragon radar anyways, so this might make it so I won't have to seal it. Though I doubt Bulma will just bring it with her…

"Yeah, didn't you mention you wanted to check out capsule corp?"

"Uh, yeah, I was curious about the capsule things…"

"Daddy's Hoi poi capsules are the best. Makes traveling much easier."

Angela nodded along until she felt like it was safe to slip away and took a bath to get the salt water out before she could mess anything up. When she came back with clean clothes, Omori was in a suit cooking up a storm.

"Need any help?"

"No, no, just… be on the lookout? Tights might say they are 'chill' but I don't want to be surprised."

Angela nodded before heading out. It turned out it was for nothing since Omori finished up and came out just as the huge plane became visible. Angela was a little excited. This was going to be her first time meeting canon characters from dragon ball. Even if she has to fly back to West city to get the dragon radar, it's nice to be able to meet Bulma before leaving.

They ended up having to back away from the edge of the dock they were waiting at when it became clear the plane's wing took up half the dock. It was very different than the planes she was used to, looking like someone took a blimp and combined it with a plane. It still didn't take long before the engine stopped, and two adults walked out followed by…

"Sis!" The small child with blue-ish-green hair pulled into pigtails yelled before Tight's picked her up into a hug very similar to how Tights hugged her that morning.

Bulma's a kid. Angela realized, and then felt like kicking herself for not realizing it sooner. Idiot! Of course, she's a child, this is years before dragon ball started, meaning the radar hasn't been invented and wouldn't be until Bulma 15!

Angela has been making plans assuming that since she was in the dragon ball world, it would be during canon even though that made no sense. Now her whole plan to get the dragon balls with the radar was ruined.

Angela didn't really pay attention to what the others talked about as she and Jaco were introduced as the aliens (with Jaco reintroducing himself with the whole 'super elite' routine). At some point, Omori ended up leading everyone to see Jaco's ship, since that was the whole ready they were here.

"Shoot! We can talk about the spaceship later, It's time for that news program!" Jaco yelled before rushing inside, followed by all the adults.

Angela stayed out still trying to figure out what to do now that her plans were ruined, and so did Bulma. Which was when Angela started paying more attention to her surroundings and not freaking out since the five year old was now unattended. And climbing a spaceship.

"Uh, I'm not sure you should be messing with that…" Angela said, years of babysitting her little sister was stronger than any worrying thoughts about her situation.

"Ooooooh, it floated!" Bulma explained as the ship started to levitate.

Angela flew up and into the cockpit as well, since Bulma left the top open.

"Can you put it back down? Please?" Angela begged, not wanting to deal with Bulma shooting herself into space.

"Easy!" The kid said before pressing a few buttons.

The ship landed much more softly than when Omori piloted it. And once it landed Bulma climbed out and slid down the ship.

Angela followed, and landed in time to see Bulma press a button and open the trunk where the mechanical parts were. The kid wasted no time literally climbing in to take a look.

"What are you doing?" Angela asked, double checking to make sure the trunk didn't close her in.

"Checking the anti-gravity device that let it float," Bulma said as she pointed to one of the parts.

When Angela helped Omori with the antenna, she checked the fule and wire connection to see if that was the problem, so she had no idea if what Bulma was looking at was the gravity control or not.

I know Bulma was a genius in the show, but this is on another level. Angela thought as she supervised the kid as she checked out all the parts of the alien spaceship like it was something she's done before. The only reason it was clear she hasn't (besides of obvious) was the exclamations Bulma made.

When Bulma was done looking around, she hopped out and climbed back onto the spaceship without much warning.

"Did the spaceship crash into something?" She asked while looking at the antenna.

"Jaco crashed when he landed, and when Omori fixed it he crashed through the roof of the shed over there," Angela told her, and no sooner Bulma jumped down.

Angela walked over as Bulma started looking through the wreak, which still has not been cleaned up.

"Are you looking for something?"

"The end piece to the antenna, it should be about this long for the amplifier to work," Bulma said, holding out her hand for a moment to show the length before searching back.

Angela decided to help by lifting the much bigger pieces, and sure enough under all the rumble of a bent tube that looked to be the same material as Jaco's ship.

"I can't believe non of us thought to look," Angela commented as Bulma giggled at her find and ran back to the ship, almost tripping on her own feet.

"Alien! Can you lift me up so I can fix it?" Bulma asked as she climbed back onto the ship.

Angela was wondering why Bulma hasn't questioned her obvious flying abilities, but it seemed the ship space was just much cooler in the kid's mind.

"Sure."

It was much easier holding Bulma up than trying to fly with two adults earlier, and it didn't take much for Bulma to twist it back on. It seemed that the bent was meant to be there, and it just popped off. Not broke off like Angela was thinking.

"There!" Bulma explained and Angela put her down.

"Hey, Bulma, Argula, dinner's ready!" Tights called out, but there were more important things than dinner.

"Jaco! Bulma fixed your antenna!"

"WHAT?!"

Jaco came running out closely followed by Omori while Bulma told Tights that she did with Angela's help.

"Oh man, that's great! Now we won't need to buy any more sky gold!"

"What were you going to use the sky gold for?" Bulma asked, which Angela thought was a little weird.

"It's used as the fuel, you were looking at it before fixing the antenna" Angela explained, wondering how Bulma missed that.

"Oh, that's not the power source. It's probably a specialized device to draw energy out of metals and convert it to power for the ship. You should be able to use any mental that has a similar energy coefficient. For sky gold a more common metal would be… copper for example."

"Copper! That costs around four hundred yen per kilo!" Omori exclaimed.

I feel like I'm back in school. Angela thought, slightly annoyed that a 5 year old knew more than her. However, if Bulma was already this smart at this young age, then maybe Angela doesn't need to wait ten years for the dragon radar.

I'll just have to find a dragon ball and…

Angela doesn't remember exactly where all the dragon balls were, but she does remember most of the locations and events that happened during the first saga, and the second one. I might not even need a radar if their location hasn't changed in the ten years before 'canon'.

It wasn't the best plan, but the panic that filled Angela after seeing Bulma calmed. She knew where the dragon balls would be, and since there is no dragon radar, no one would be looking for them. Then if she can't find some, Angela will just have to ask Bulma to make a radar.

I will go home. Angela promised herself as she watched Jaco call his headquarters.

A/N: next chapter will start the quest for the dragon balls, and will introduce some more canon characters.
